Venezuela Has Lost 13 Percent of Its Population in a Mass Exodus From Socialism

Venezuela has lost more than 13 percent of its population in the wake of the mass wave of migration caused by the so-called “socialism of the 21st century,” which has had a dramatic effect on other countries in the region due to the serious humanitarian crisis.

Official figures from the International Organization of Migration (IOM) indicate that between 2015 and 2017, Venezuelan emigration more than doubled, increasing from 700,000 people to 1.5 million.

But the truth is that there are thousands of Venezuelans with dual citizenship who have left Venezuela, just as there are many more who arrive as tourists to their new destinations and remain there. The migratory flow began with mass arrivals to neighboring Brazil and Colombia but has now spread across the region.

According to pollster Consultores 21, 40 percent of the population of Venezuela wants to emigrate, and according to estimates by the sociologist Tomás Páez, by the middle of 2018, 15 percent of the Venezuelan population will have left the country with the hope of being able to return one day.

The streets are empty in Venezuela. As the months pass, there are fewer cars on the streets and fewer people on the sidewalks. Venezuelans’ emigration is truly remarkable in the sense that the situation was once reversed: In just one decade Venezuela received 11 million foreigners fleeing crises in their own home countries. Watch: Ocasio-Cortez Proves She Has No Idea What Congress Does

Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez showed her extreme lack of knowledge about the basic roles of the three branches of the federal government during a speech on Monday, suggesting that after she is “inaugurated” into office that she will begin signing bills into law.

“After being spurned over, and over, and over again, short-changed on healthcare, short-changed on criminal justice, short-changed on education, there’s a lot of folks who don’t want to believe anymore,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And that’s why what we have accomplished is such an immense responsibility. It is a responsibility.”

“It doesn’t mean you get everything tomorrow,” Ocasio-Cortez rambled. “As much as I would love that. I would love to get inaugurated January 3rd [and on] January 4th we’re signing healthcare, we’re signing this…”

Venezuelan Journalist Hits Jim Carrey With Scathing Reality Check for Praising Socialism

Hollywood superstar Jim Carrey made headlines last weekend when he declared that Democrats needs to “say yes to socialism” and stop apologizing for their increasingly progressive agenda. . .

Writing in an open letter published in Runrunes, Venezuelan columnist Laureano Márquez eloquently explains that socialism in the root cause of Venezuela’s current crisis — one that started as an idea, but manifested itself much differently than leaders promised.

“I admire you very much, but sometimes it seems that the inability of Hollywood stars to understand politics is directly proportional to their scenic talent. [Ronald] Reagan was always an actor of very little talent, thank God,” Márquez began. “I read that…you said: ‘We have to say yes to socialism, to the word ‘socialism’ and to everything.’ Perhaps for you, as for all humanity, the word ‘socialism’ sounds beautiful.” . . .

“[In] Venezuela, what we find is just that our regime is not – for God’s sake – the antithesis of selfishness,” he explained. “In Venezuela, dear Jim, from what I have just told you, there is no equitable distribution of wealth; wealth is concentrated, as rarely before in our history, in very few hands.”

Socialism’s grim reality is so bad, Márquez explained, that his society’s most vulnerable people groups are at “God’s mercy,” fleeing the country in search of food, medicine, and other basic necessities to survive. Transgender Democratic Nominee for Governor in Vermont Admits He Can’t Define Socialism

Vermont gubernatorial candidate, Christine Hallquist, sat down for an interview with CNN’s John Berman to discuss being the first transgender nominee for a major political party. Hallquist won the Democratic primary for governor on Tuesday.

During an interview with CNN, Berman referred to a Gallup poll that found that socialism is much more popular among Democrats than capitalism. Hallquist was asked by Berman if those figures surprised her at all and whether or not [he] supports capitalism. . .

Berman then pressed Hallquist again about [his] fondness for socialism and its structures.

“I’m not sure I even know what socialism is, so I don’t have the background to answer that question,” Hallquist said.

“That person, just won a Democratic Party nomination to be the next governor of a state in the United States of America! UNCOVERED: Socialist Ocasio-Cortez Campaign Funded by Soros, Young Turks

Researcher Richard Weinstein joined Glenn Beck and Stu Burguiere on Wednesday’s show to discuss his stunning discovery of the deep pockets behind Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s “grassroots” campaign.

Wondering how Ocasio-Cortez achieved her primary win in the 14th district of New York without really knowing any policy, Weinstein began a preliminary search for answers. He quickly discovered that in 2017, Ocasio-Cortez’s website belonged to a group called “Brand New Congress.”

By following the “bouncing ball,” Weinstein soon found out that Brand New Congress is a group dedicated to flooding “the playing field with progressives.” BNC’s co-founder, Saikat Chakrabarti, appeared on Rachel Maddow’s show to discuss how the group is “capitalizing on Bernie Sanders’ appeal.”

The trail then leads from Saikat Chakrabarti to an affiliated organization called “Justice Democrats,” which is co-founded by Cenk Uygur, a far-left founder and host of The Young Turks.

Brutal: Examining Ocasio-Cortez’s Painful Answer on Funding Her Socialist Utopia

As we flagged on Friday, media sensation and instant lefty icon Alexandria Ocasio Cortez appeared on the Daily Show last week, where she was confronted with a relatively simple question by host Trevor Noah. Ocasio Cortez is campaigning on a laundry list of new government programs and entitlements, including “Medicare for All,” free college, and a “universal jobs guarantee.” But how does she intend to pay for for this calorie-exploding buffet of government largesse? Her response to that fundamental challenge was a bit of a jumbled mess, to put it rather mildly:

After muttering some words about “back of the envelope” calculations and touting a discussion with a Nobel Prize-winning economist, she exclaimed that if wealthy people and corporations would just pay their “fair share,” her dreams could become realities. What was remarkable about her answer was not that she deployed standard-issue Democratic talking points invoking Warren Buffett’s secretary; you could abruptly wake virtually any left-of-center political figure from a deep sleep and quiz them about long term federal debt, and he or she would groggily start mumbling and “fairness.” No, what was most interesting about AOC’s reply was how simultaneously honest and incoherent it was. She proposes “reversing” the tax reform law, which would result in a $2 trillion tax increase on families and businesses. The economy is booming in large measure because job creators have finally been afforded precious certainty, and because America’s grossly uncompetitive corporate tax rates were made much more competitive. Meanwhile, millions of Americans are feeling better about their economic conditions because they have more disposable income, thanks to an across-the-board lowering of the federal tax burden, across all income groups. AOC wants to undo that progress and apply the additional revenue toward government programs.

Ocasio Cortez’s idea is to reduce spending on the military…in order to vastly expand already-troubled healthcare and retirement programs. The math doesn’t even come close to adding up. Defenders of Cortez’s socialist vision have responded to these inconvenient realities by contending that other western nations manage to pull of government-run healthcare, so we make it work — or by flatly stating that specifics aside, we’ll somehow find a way to finance the scheme:

After her upset victory in the Democratic primary over incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley last month, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been touted as “the future” of the Democratic Party, and her open embrace of Democratic Socialism has been enthusiastically embraced by a growing number of Democrats, particularly young Democrats. But how much do the 28-year-old candidate’s avid supporters truly understand her particular brand of socialism?

Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips took to the streets of New York’s 14th Congressional District to see if the young voters who support her Democratic Socialist vision for America have any ideas about how to actually pay for “all that free stuff” — including “Medicare for all,” guaranteed jobs for every American, “housing as a human right,” and free college and trade school for all.

After getting enthusiastic endorsement of Ocasio-Cortez and Democratic Socialism from all the interviewees, Phillips asked them how they thought America would pay for all of the free stuff she’s promising.

“All of the free things? Well, some of it should come from taxes, but the government should pay for it,” another young lady said. When Phillips noted that “the government is funded by taxes,” she responded, “Yes.”

“I don’t know where the money would come from, but they can figure it out,” said one guy with a laugh. When Phillips suggested “more taxes on the rich people,” the guy replied, “For sure, man. Ocasio-Cortez Makes Most Idiotic Statement Ever on Twitter

Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has said a lot of stupid things.

She claimed that Israel was occupying Palestine and, when pressed, admitted she did not know what she was talking about. She can’t differentiate between socialism and Democratic socialism. She said she is working to flip a congressional seat “red” in November. She admitted that she can’t win by having to persuade people her ideology is the best possible option. Heck, she even thought that a recent parody video that mocked her was a serious attempt to deceive voters. . .

. . .

Keep in mind that this statement is coming from an admitted socialist who believes in taxing citizens to pay for costly government programs that end up harming the economy. . .

The Trump administration threw out the Iran deal because it was not tough enough, has worked to denuclearize North Korea, has implemented a travel ban on nations that are breeding grounds for terrorism, wants to build a wall on the Southern Border to stop illegal entry into the U.S., and has largely defeated ISIS. . .

There are numerous examples of actions that the Trump administration has taken that refute this claim, the best of which is the fact that the administration has insisted on following through on campaign promises despite knowing that the media is giving them overwhelmingly negative coverage because of it. Meltdown: Liberal Media Triggered by Conservative Site Mocking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in Satire Video

There are some things liberals do that just make you want to smash your face against the desk. That goes doubly for their allies in the media. Allie Beth Stuckey of Conservative Review decided to have a little fun with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the insurgent left-wing Democrat (democratic socialist actually), who delivered the progressive wing their own Eric Cantor moment, clipping top Democrat Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in a primary challenge. Sen. Bernie Sanders has some good company. She too wants free stuff for all the people, and she wants to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She’s been called the future of the Democratic Party, but her July 13 interview with PBS’ Margaret Hoover, who hosts the revamped Firing Line of William F. Buckley lore, provided a lot of fodder, notable because she didn’t know what she was talking about.

On the Israel-Palestinian conflict, she admitted to not being an expert, along with supporting a two-state solution, which she shied away from three days after the PBS interview. Oh, and unemployment is low because everyone is working two jobs. We’ll get to that in a second, but Stuckey decided to do a mock interview to parody the PBS appearance. It’s been done before, but it went viral, breaking over 1 million views. Apparently, not everyone was able to see what was blatantly obvious, providing yet another episode that the liberal media totally embarrassed itself. Also, Washington Post, you should know better, c’mon, guys:

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, the congressional candidate from New York whose democratic socialist campaign has stuck a lightning bolt into the world of Democratic politics, appeared to give bizarre answers in a 2½-minute video that was staged as an interview with conservative commentator Allie Stuckey on the site CRTV. Ocasio-Cortez shook her head “no,” when Stuckey asked if she had any knowledge about how the political system worked and seemed to imply that Venezuela was in the Middle East and was a model of socialism.

But the video did not depict a real interview, despite its caption: “Allie *grills* congressional hopeful and progressive it girl ‘Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ on her socialist agenda and knowledge of government … or lack thereof.” Instead, it used heavily edited footage from an interview Ocasio-Cortez did with PBS earlier this month spliced to appear as answers to questions read by Stuckey.

After an outcry, the Facebook page for Stuckey’s show, which the social media giant has given an informal imprimatur in the form of a blue verification check mark, was updated to note that the video was satire and include a reference to the original PBS show. But the fact that the video traveled so widely — and for some, apparently believably — has served as another example of how misleading information continues to thrive in the fast-paced flow of information online despite Facebook’s promise to better weed it out.

Saved From Socialism: U.S. Saves Baby After U.K. Doctors Said His Heart Couldn’t Be Fixed

After baby Oliver Cameron was denied necessary medical treatment and funding by the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), doctors in the United States were able to save his life.

Baby Oliver was born with a rare heart condition known as cardiac fibroma. The socialized healthcare system in the U.K. was not equipped to perform the necessary surgery to remove the non-cancerous tumor in his heart. Oliver would have to be put on a list to receive a heart transplant, and even then, he would only be expected to live to the age of 15, at the longest.

But due to the innovation and ingenuity of the United States, the necessary surgery was not only available, but had a 100% success rate at the Boston Children’s Hospital. . .

After funding nearly $170,000 on their own and garnering international attention, the NHS’s hand was forced. The government finally announced that they would allow and fund the necessary surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital. . .

Thankfully, Boston Children’s Hospital was able to perform a successful surgery on 10-month-old baby Oliver in November of 2017. “When they told us Dr. del Nido had removed all of it, we were so happy we just burst into tears,” said mother Lydia, according to the hospital’s site.
