The Vitriolic Left Viciously Attacks Rick Warren as He Grieves for His Son

According to USA Today, a number of homosexual activists and others opposed to Rick Warren’s Christian message and stance on California’s Prop 8 have viciously attacked him in the wake of his son’s tragic suicide:

[A] shocking number are taking this moment of media attention to lash out at Warren on the digital tom-toms. The attacks are aimed at him personally and at his Christian message.

Some unbelievers want to assure Rick and Kay Warren, his wife and Matthew’s bereaved mother, that there’s no heaven where they’ll meet their son again.

You can find, among hundreds of comments on USA TODAY’s news story on Matthew’s death, comments such as the Cincinnati poster who says, “Either there is no God, or God doesn’t listen to Rick Warren, despite all the money Rick has made off of selling false hope to desperate people.” In another comment, the same poster counsels Warren to “abandon primitive superstitions and accept the universe for what it is — a place that is utterly indifferent to us.”

Some rush to add pain to the Warrens’ world because, in their view, he did not show sufficient compassion for the unremitting pain suffered by gay youths rejected by parents and peers. They were outraged when Warren took a political stand for Prop 8, which overturned legal same-sex marriage in California in 2008 and is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mother Victimized By China’s One-Child Policy Commits Suicide

In another tragic case, a 42-year-old mother took her life last week inside a local Family Planning Office after two botched forced sterilizations.

Yang Yuzhi, the mother of four, was forced to undergo sterilization surgery in 1995. However, the operation failed, and she was forced again in 2006 to undergo a second sterilization surgery. The surgery failed and led to infections in her intestines, leading to chronic pain and requiring regular doses of medication. Due to the financial burdens, Ms. Yang frequently petitioned the Family Planning Commission (FPC), but to no avail.

At around noon on March 13, 2013, Ms. Yang left home in a normal mental state and went to the local FPC office. Her son, Zhang Zhaofa, later recounted to the media: “The Family Planning Officials told us that while they were discussing Ms. Yang’s case with the village mayor, some workers found her already dead, having hanged herself at the top of the stairs. They secretly called the ambulance to move her body to the hospital, but didn’t inform the family in a timely manner.”

Video: Pathetic Ted Turner Says It’s a “Good” Thing That US Troops Are Committing Suicide

CNN Founder Ted Turner was on Piers Morgan when he made a shocking and despicable statement regarding the record number of suicides among US soldiers.

Piers Morgan observed that suicides in uniform have actually surpassed combat deaths. Turner said that he thought that was good. The failure of Piers Morgan to condemn Turner’s reaction was equally inexcusable.

The globalist, who gave $1 billion to the United Nations several years ago, then advocated for the use of the UN as the world’s policeman.

Army suicides hit grim milestone: most self-inflicted deaths in a single month

Army suicides hit a new single-month record in July, when 38 active-duty and reserve soldiers took their own lives, according to official figures released Thursday.

The toll, up from 24 in June, prompted a wave of renewed anger and frustration among Pentagon leaders and veterans advocates.

“I was pretty shocked when I saw the number,” said Tom Tarantino, legislative director for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. “This has been a continuous problem. This really stems from the military, and the [Department of Veterans Affairs], for that matter, basically the entire military and veteran community, really coming to this issue several years late.”

“It really wasn’t until 2007-2008, really 2009, that they started thinking about it at the level they need to be thinking about it,” he said.

Despite efforts from high-profile military leaders — including Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno, former Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen and former Army Vice Chief Gen. Peter Chiarelli — the wider Army is losing this battle, critics say.

Bulgarian suicide attack on Israelis was exceptionally sophisticated, coordinated

A sophisticated group of conspirators was involved in the suicide bombing in Bulgaria that killed five Israeli tourists and a Bulgarian bus driver last week, and they spent at least a month in Bulgaria before the attack, the country’s prime minister said Tuesday.

Boiko Borisov’s comments confirm suspicions that the suicide attacker who targeted a bus filled with Israeli vacationers last Wednesday did not act alone. However, the prime minister did not offer any evidence or give many more details. He didn’t say how many people were believed to have been involved in attack on Israeli tourists in Burgas and also declined to back up Israel’s claims that Iran and the militant group Hezbollah played roles.

Those involved used “leased vehicles, they moved in different cities so as not to be seen together, and no two of them can be seen in one place on any security camera,” Borisov said, speaking alongside visiting White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan.

He described the people behind the blast as “exceptionally skilled” and said they operated under “strict conspiracy rules.” He also said DNA samples from the suicide bomber have been shared with all partner security services, but no match has been found in their databases.

“There was absolutely no chance of preventing such an act of violence,” Borisov insisted. “We could have only detected it by chance or if we had been informed by the services that such activities were under way in Bulgaria.”

New Research Finally Provides Answers to Soaring Suicide Rates in U.S. Military

When researchers asked 72 soldiers at Fort Carson, Colo., why they tried to kill themselves, out of the 33 reasons they had to choose from, all of the soldiers included one in particular — a desire to end intense emotional distress.

“This really is the first study that provides scientific data saying that the top reason … these guys are trying to kill themselves is because they have this intense psychological suffering and pain,” said Craig Bryan, co-author of the study by the National Center for Veterans Studies at the University of Utah that will be published in the coming months.

Suicide within the military has soared since 2005 as the military has waged two wars at once, and this year may set a record with troops committing suicide at the rate of one per day, according to Pentagon figures.

But military scientists say that finally, after years of congressional funding and the launch of randomized studies of a subject rarely researched, a few validated results are beginning to surface.

The findings by the Pentagon-funded study offer perhaps some guidance on how to attack the problem, said Army Col. Carl Castro, who is coordinating $50 million in research into suicide prevention and treatment.

Common parasite may lead women to suicide, self-harm

Women who are infected with a common parasite may be more likely to hurt themselves or attempt suicide, a new study of over 45,000 new moms in Denmark suggests.

The infection, known as toxoplasmosis, is caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. Humans can become chronically infected by eating undercooked meat or unwashed vegetables or by handling cat litter, as the parasite is known to multiply in the gut of infected cats.

Toxoplasmosis is often symptom-free, but can be dangerous in people with weak immune systems or during pregnancy, since the parasite may be passed to babies.

Some studies have linked the parasite to a higher chance of developing schizophrenia, and researchers believe because the T. gondii parasite lives in the brain, it could have an effect on emotions and behavior.

For the new report, Dr. Teodor Postolache from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and his colleagues used Danish medical registries to track 45,788 women who were originally included in a study that screened newborn babies for toxoplasmosis.
