Wife Of American Detained By Taliban Reveals What Biden Told Her In Long-Awaited Call

Anna Corbett, the wife of Ryan Corbett, an American being held hostage by the Taliban, said that she doesn’t believe President Joe Biden will bring her husband home in his final days in office, she shared in an interview with the Daily Caller.

The White House announced Sunday that Biden called the families of Ryan Corbett, George Glezmann and Mahmoud Habibi — the Americans detained by the Taliban since 2022 – to discuss the “government’s continuing efforts to reunite these three Americans with their families.” The wife of Ryan Corbett, Anna Corbett, told the Caller that the phone call, despite 16 prior trips to D.C., was the first time she and the president had spoken in the nearly two and a half years since her husband was taken hostage. During the 30 minute phone call, Biden expressed that they were unable to get a deal done and because of such, Ryan would not be coming home in the final days of his administration, Anna told the Caller.

“He gave us about 30 minutes, I would say, on the call, and he was very gracious, but basically said he is not bringing Ryan home, and that was very disappointing to hear that we come this far,” Anna told the Caller.

“It seems like the administration is haunted by Afghanistan, and there is a deal on the table. I don’t have all the details, but it seems like there is a way to bring Ryan home, and it’s not being taken. So that just adds to the disappointment,” Anna told the Caller.

The White House National Security Council referred the Caller to its announcement on the call when asked if the president had told the families he was unable to bring their loved ones home. The read out of the call adds that Biden “emphasized his Administration’s commitment to the cause of bringing home Americans held hostage and wrongfully detained overseas.”

Biden’s Afghanistan: Taliban Bans MMA

The Taliban terrorist organization ruling Afghanistan confirmed on Wednesday that it had formally banned mixed martial arts (MMA), a sport that began thriving in the country in the final years before the fall of Kabul in 2021.

The edict banning MMA followed the publication of an extensive decree last week by the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice listing a host of new prohibitions on the private lives of Afghans. The decree officially banned women from showing their faces or using their voices in public and mandated beards and “Islamic” haircuts on men, among other restrictions.

MMA was a nascent sport in Afghanistan when, following the disastrous decision by leftist American President Joe Biden to extend the 20-year Afghan War beyond an agreed-upon May 2021 deadline, the Taliban seized control of Kabul and the Afghan federal government. The Taliban has remained the uncontested ruling power in Afghanistan since, although it has not received formal recognition as such from any other country nor from the United Nations.

The Agence France-Presse (AFP) confirmed the MMA ban with Taliban officials on Wednesday.

“It was found that the sport is problematic with respect to sharia and it has many aspects which are contradictory to the teachings of Islam,” the Taliban’s sports agency said in a statement. “That’s why this decision has been made to ban mixed martial arts in Afghanistan.” (Read more from “Biden’s Afghanistan: Taliban Bans MMA” HERE)

The Taliban Has Detained an American, and 18 Others, for Promoting ‘Christianity’

An American has been captured and taken hostage by the Taliban after the group raided the offices of a Swiss nonprofit group based in Afghanistan for allegedly promoting Christianity.

On Friday, the International Assistance Mission (IAM) confirmed that the Taliban had detained the American worker and 18 others after the radical group stormed its offices in Ghor, just 400 miles outside of Kabul.

Since the Taliban seized control of the country two years ago, NGOs have become a more significant threat. The group introduced harsh measures, banning Afghan women from education after the sixth grade and from public life and work— including working for NGOs.

Three members, including the American, were taken in the first raid, and the 15 others were taken ten days later. However, they are being held in an unknown location in Kabul— the site of President Joe Biden’s 2021 botched Afghanistan withdrawal. Afghanistan IG Reveals Taxpayer Money Is Flowing to Taliban — And Biden Admin Is Guilty of ‘Unprecedented’ Obstruction

John Sopko, Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, told Congress on Wednesday that taxpayer dollars are flowing into the Taliban’s pockets.

The shocking admission was made during a House Oversight Committee hearing about the Biden administration’s disastrous and deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.

“Unfortunately, as I sit here today, I cannot assure this committee or the American taxpayer we are not currently funding the Taliban,” Sopko said. “Nor can I assure you that the Taliban are not diverting the money we are sending from the intended recipients, which are the poor Afghan people.”

Sopko explained that obstruction from the State Department and the United States Agency for International Development in the Biden administration has been “unprecedented.” He said both agencies have demonstrated an “abject refusal to allow oversight” of the billions of taxpayer dollars that have been sent to Afghanistan.

“I don’t trust the Taliban as far as you can throw them,” Sopko later said. “The information we’re getting — again, not from the State Department, who isn’t talking to us, or USAID — is the Taliban is already diverting funds. Trump Reveals Threat He Used to Secure Taliban Deal

Former President Donald Trump said he secured a deal with the Taliban by personally threatening the leader of the Taliban.

In part two of his sit-down interview with Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity, Mr. Trump criticized President Biden’s oversight of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, which Mr. Trump had negotiated.

But the 2024 Republican presidential front-runner suggested the chaotic evacuation and the death of 13 U.S. servicemembers happened because the Taliban respected him but not Mr. Biden.

In March 2020, Mr. Trump spoke for 35 minutes with the deputy leader of the Taliban, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.

Mr. Hannity said in the interview that aired Thursday evening on “Hannity” that the former president had previously told him that he had told the mullah “that in no uncertain terms you would obliterate him if he dared not to follow every dotted I, crossed T, comma, period” of any deal. Taliban Parades US Military Gear in Celebration of Afghanistan Withdrawal Anniversary

Taliban fighters on Wednesday paraded captured U.S. military vehicles and weaponry in celebration of the one-year anniversary of the United States’ withdrawal from the country.

At the Bagram air base, where a year earlier Afghan civilians died falling from U.S. military planes evacuating Kabul, the Taliban displayed a show of force, marching infantry and parading dozens of U.S. aircraft and vehicles.

The Taliban’s victory celebration comes a year to the date after President Joe Biden called his administration’s withdrawal a “success” and a “wise decision.”

Footage of the parade broadcast by Taliban media shows the jihadist force piloting American Black Hawk helicopters and driving Humvees and armored personnel carriers.

Biden Admin Extending Immigration Benefits to Taliban-Connected Afghans

In the Biden administration’s supposedly “humane” policies toward immigration and asylum seekers — the same ones that have turned the U.S.-Mexico border into a deadly and violent mess of lawlessness that benefits only drug cartels and human traffickers — officials are also taking a softer position toward certain Taliban-affiliated individuals from Afghanistan who wish to come to the United States.

After the “most successful airlift in history” one year ago that saw 13 U.S. service members killed in an ISIS-K suicide bombing on August 26, 2021 and planeloads of unvetted Afghan refugees flown out of Kabul last summer, Biden wants to bring more Afghans to the United States. Including some with ties to the Taliban.

Back in June, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security and State Department unveiled new exemptions — via “congressionally provided discretionary authority” — to allow more Afghans to qualify for immigration benefits from the U.S. — asylum, refugee status, and Special Immigrant Visas (SIV).

According to a report from the Inspectors General of the Department of Defense, Department of State, and U.S. Agency for International Development, these exemptions would apply on a case-by-case basis to individuals who “would otherwise be barred from the United States.” (Read more from “Biden Admin Extending Immigration Benefits to Taliban-Connected Afghans” HERE)

Biden Paid Taliban More Than $1 Billion Over Last Year

In the aftermath of Joe Biden’s report that he ordered a military drone strike that killed al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in downtown Kabul, Afghanistan, a report has emerged that Biden has paid, over the last year, about $1 billion to the Taliban.

That would be the extremist Islamist organization that took over Afghanistan when Biden last year abruptly pulled American soldiers out.

Biden left behind hundreds of Americans, thousands of America-supporting nationals who likely would be targeted by assassination squads for their work, as well as some $80 billion in American war machinery.

Now a report from Foreign Desk News explains that Biden has been sending, and plans to send more, money to the Taliban.

A columnist also pointed out that it is unlikely that an al-Qaida operative could have set up shop and be working in Kabul without the Taliban knowing that. (Read more from “Biden Paid Taliban More Than $1 Billion Over Last Year” HERE)

Taliban Orders Afghan Women to Cover Their Faces in Public

The Taliban government in Afghanistan on Saturday ordered that women must cover their faces in public, returning to the restrictive policy that ended more than two decades ago.

Supreme Leader Haibatullah Akhundzada ruled that a woman who refuses to comply could lead to her father or closest male relative facing imprisonment or loss of a state job.

“We call on the world to co-operate with the Islamic Emirate and people of Afghanistan … Don’t bother us. Don’t bring more pressure, because history is witness, Afghans won’t be affected by pressure,” Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, the minister for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, told a news conference, Reuters reported.

The group announced the recommended covering would be a blue burqa, the head-to-toe garment forced upon Afghan women during the Taliban’s previous rule.

Most Afghan women already wear a headscarf, though the new requirement and its enforcement increase the regulation and punishment upon a woman’s family. (Read more from “Taliban Orders Afghan Women to Cover Their Faces in Public” HERE)

Taliban Warns of Consequences if U.S. Fails to Recognize Their Government

The Taliban warned the U.S. and the rest of the global community Saturday that their decision to withhold formal recognition of Afghanistan’s new government may result in consequences for the world.

“Our message to America is, if unrecognition continues, Afghan problems continue, it is the problem of the region and could turn into a problem for the world,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said at Saturday’s press.

Mujahid noted that absence of formal diplomatic ties between Afghanistan and the U.S. led to the military invasion in 2001, Reuters reported.

“Those issues which caused the war, they could have been solved through negotiation, they could have been solved through political compromise too,” the spokesperson said, according to Reuters. (Read more from “Taliban Warns of Consequences if U.S. Fails to Recognize Their Government” HERE)
