Four Texas Congressmen Stayed With the Police to Defend the Chamber, Congressman Says

Republican Texas Rep. Pat Fallon said Wednesday that several Texas freshmen congressmen stayed behind to defend the House chamber as rioters stormed the United States Capitol.

Fallon described watching “courage personified” when D.C. police entered the House chamber Wednesday and alerted lawmakers that the U.S. Capitol building had been breached. The congressman, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation, said that Republican Texas congressmen Tony Gonzales, Ronny Jackson, and Troy Nehls were present.

I JUST SAW COURAGE PERSONIFIED!!
We were in the middle of debate when the Capitol Police came into the chamber and…

Posted by Fallon For Texas on Wednesday, January 6, 2021

“At first they wanted us to remain in our seats in the House Chamber,” Fallon wrote in a Facebook post. “The breach must have gotten worse because they started to evacuate. Then the mob literally reached the doors of the House Chamber and the Police were short handed and I AM SO PROUD that Rep Tony Gonzalez, Rep Ronny Jackson, Rep Troy Nehls didn’t hesitate!!!”

“We augmented the Police and stood our ground,” he continued. “We will never be intimated by any mob, regardless of their motivations.”

Fallon said that when the mob of President Donald Trump’s supporters reached the doors of the House chamber, “there was visible concern on everyones faces,” but the lawmakers “stood our ground.” (Read more from “Four Texas Congressmen Stayed With the Police to Defend the Chamber, Congressman Says” HERE)

No Suspect Found Following Report of ‘Active Threat’ at Great Wolf Lodge: Grapevine Police

By NBC DFW. No injuries were reported and police said early Saturday that they found no suspect at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine following reports of an “active threat” that forced the hotel to go into lockdown Friday night.

At about 9:05 p.m. Friday, Grapevine police received calls from witnesses about a man who threatened he would “shoot up the place,” Grapevine police spokeswoman Amanda McNew said.

McNew said the Grapevine Police Department received calls from multiple witnesses who described the same man making the same threats, which prompted the large police response.

When officers arrived, a witness provided a description of the man, who was no longer in sight.

Police said the threats were traced to the 8th floor of the hotel, which was then evacuated so police could go through each room. (Read more from “No Suspect Found Following Report of ‘Active Threat’ at Great Wolf Lodge: Grapevine Police” HERE)

Report: Multiple Infants Born Alive During Botched Abortions in Texas in 2019

Multiple infants were born alive after botched abortions in Texas, a new report indicates.

According to statistics from Texas Health and Human Services, abortion facilities and physicians each reported at least six infants were born alive during abortion attempts in the state in 2019 — an increase by at least two from the previous year.

In 2019, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed a bill requiring physicians present during a botched abortion must “exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health” of a baby born alive as if it were delivered under normal circumstances. Physicians are also required to facilitate the immediate transfer of the infant to a hospital. Violators of this law risk being fined at least $100,000 and being charged with a third-degree felony.

Texas State Rep. Jeff Leach, who authored the legislation, called for an investigation into the care provided to the 2019 babies born alive despite attempts to abort them, saying that the numbers in the report should “shock the collective conscience of the Lone Star State.”

“I call on the Texas Attorney General and appropriate law enforcement agencies, with the full weight and force of Texas law, to investigate and unleash holy hell on those responsible for these heinous crimes,” Leach wrote.

Disturbing Billboards in U.S. Boast Satanic Temple’s ‘Religious Abortion Ritual’

Abortion industry giant Planned Parenthood has been working with the Satanic Temple to fight state abortion restrictions. . .

According to a press release, one of the TST billboards says, “Pregnancy complications are the sixth most common cause of death among women ages 20 to 34. Abortions save lives!”

In the second billboard, a woman tells her friend she does not have to undergo the waiting period for her abortion because she is a satanist.

Both billboards state, “Our abortion ritual averts many state restrictions.”

“We want our members to know that performing our religious abortion ritual means they do not have to fulfill regulations that require them to violate their religious beliefs when they have decided to terminate their pregnancy,” said Sydney Goodwin, TST’s religious reproductive rights spokesperson. Married Teachers Die of COVID-19 While Holding Hands

A married couple who were both teachers in Texas died of COVID-19 complications while holding hands.

Paul Blackwell, 61, and Rose Mary Blackwell, 65, died on Sunday at Harris Methodist Hospital, according to their family.

The couple spent several days in intensive care on ventilators as their conditions continued to worsen and their family made the heartbreaking decision to take them off life support, Paul’s son Christopher Blackwell told CBS 11.

“Two of my other brothers are actually in the room there at the hospital and they wheeled my stepmother in there in the room with my father and at the same time, removed them both from the ventilator,” Christopher said.

“They had them holding hands and they were both gone in a couple of minutes,” he continued. “I’ve never seen anything like that before and it’s hard to even put into words seeing that.” (Read more from “Married Teachers Die of COVID-19 While Holding Hands” HERE)

17 States Support Texas Supreme Court Lawsuit Alleging PA-MI-GA-WI Elections Were Unconstitutional

Seventeen states filed an amicus brief Wednesday supporting the state of Texas’s lawsuit — filed directly to the U.S. Supreme Court — which targets Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin over claims of unconstitutional practices in their respective elections.

The states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, and West Virginia:

Texas filed the lawsuit on Monday, arguing that the battleground states “violated the Electors Clause of the Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions, but not through the state legislatures,” as Breitbart News reported:

Additionally, Texas argues that there were differences in voting rules and procedures in different counties within the states, violating the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause. Finally, Texas argues that there were “voting irregularities” in these states as a result of the above.

Waitress Gets $2K Tip but Restaurant Refuses to Give Her a Cent

A Texas waitress says she was thrilled to receive a $2,000 tip on a bill — only to find out from the restaurant that she won’t take home a single cent.

Emily Bauer, 21, had only been a server for about two weeks when she was scheduled for a busy Sunday shift at Red Hook Seafood and Bar in San Antonio, news station KVUE reported. . .

Bauer said she didn’t notice at first that [a customer] had given her a $2,000 tip and wrote a note that said, “Merry Christmas! Keep working hard!” . . .

“I was sitting at a table and the other servers were congratulating me and [my manager] came over and was like, ‘Rule No. 1. Never accept a tip like that because you’re never going to get it,’” Bauer said.

Bauer said another server suggested that the restaurant give her four separate tips of $500 but they refused. (Read more from “Waitress Gets $2K Tip but Restaurant Refuses to Give Her a Cent” HERE)

Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw Wins First Reelection Bid

Freshman Texas Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw won reelection on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old Navy SEAL veteran defeated Democratic candidate Sima Ladjevardian in Texas’s 2nd Congressional District, according to the Associated Press. He was first elected to Congress two years ago.

While his district was called early on election night, Texas is a state to watch in the presidential election. Texas is a must-have state for President Trump, but polling as the election neared showed that it was a vulnerable target for Democrats. (Read more from “Texas Rep. Major Texas City Imposes Second Lockdown as Local Hospitals Reach Capacity

El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego said Thursday he is ordering a two-week shutdown of all non-essential services for two weeks to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“Our hospitals are at capacity. Our medical professionals are overwhelmed. If we don’t respond, we will see unprecedented levels of deaths,” Samaniego said at a news briefing.

Essential businesses, including grocery stores, schools, child care centers, pharmacies and health care facilities, will remain open, he said. He said the order takes effect at midnight.

He said voting will also be considered an essential activity. . .

The number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations have been gradually climbing in El Paso County. There are currently 14,359 active cases of the virus in the county, Samaniego said. (Read more from “Major Texas City Imposes Second Lockdown as Local Hospitals Reach Capacity” HERE)

A Little Media Bias in this Headline? “All Republican Texas Supreme Court Rules That 2 Million Voters in Houston Can’t Get Applications for Mail-In Ballots”

The all-Republican Texas Supreme Court has blocked Houston election officials from sending mail-in ballot applications to over 2 million registered voters in the state’s most populous county.

On Wednesday, the state’s highest civil court said that Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins would not be allowed to send out 2.4 million ballots in an effort to expand voting options to Texans during the coronavirus pandemic. . .

The state sued Hollins in August, arguing that sending out applications for mail-in ballots would overstep his authority and cause confusion among voters who are ineligible for an absentee ballot under state rules. Hollins argued that the applications would come with clear instructions and would be beneficial to residents, given the health concerns surrounding the coronavirus outbreak.

However, the court ruled against Hollins, stating that voting documents are accessible online and that while they are typically sent out by political campaigns or other private organizations, distribution from a government official would exceed the official’s legal authority.
