Republicans Advance Bill Requiring Texas Public Schools to Display Ten Commandments (VIDEO)

Republicans in the Texas State Senate have passed a pair of bills that would require public schools to display the Ten Commandments, give students and staff a daily prayer period, and allow teachers to read the Bible.

Late last week, the Texas State Senate passed the bills, both with a 17-12 vote, and they now head to the state’s House of Representatives. The first bill, sponsored by State Sen. Phil King (R) would require all public schools in Texas to display the Ten Commandments.

“This is an American tradition,” King said. “If schools in Texas do not have it in their funding to [display the Ten Commandments], they can accept private dollars for this.”

The second bill, sponsored by State Sen. Mayes Middleton (R), would require public schools to give students and staff a daily period of prayer time. Likewise, the bill would allow teachers to read the Bible and other religious texts as part of the curriculum. Law Enforcement Baffled by String of Cows Found Dead with Tongues Cut Out

Law enforcement officials in Texas are baffled by a string of strange cattle mutilations in recent weeks.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that at least six cows had been found dead on the side of the road along Highway OSR (Old San Antonio Road) in central Texas. The cows were all found with their tongues cut out; two others had their genitals removed as well. Even more puzzling, the cuts were made with surgical precision and left no blood.

“Ranchers advised a 6-year-old longhorn-cross cow had been found lying on her side, deceased, and mutilated on their ranch,” the Madison County Sheriff’s Office wrote on its Facebook page Wednesday. “A straight, clean cut, with apparent precision, had been made to remove the hide around the cow’s mouth on one side, leaving the meat under the removed hide untouched. The tongue was also completely removed from the body with no blood spill. It was noted there were no signs of struggle and the grass around the cow was undisturbed. No footprints or tire tracks were noted in the area. Ranchers also reported no predators or birds would scavenge the remains of the cow, leaving it to decay untouched for several weeks.”

“While looking into the longhorn-cross’ death, five other similar occurrences involving four adult cows and one yearling were reported along the area of OSR running into Brazos County as well as Robertson County,” the post continued. “Each incident occurred in different locations, pastures, and herds. The other cows were found in the same condition, lying on one side with the exposed side of their face cut along the jaw line and the tongue, once again, completely removed. On two of the five cows, a circular cut was made removing the anus and the external genitalia. This circular cut was made with the same precision as the cuts noted around the jaw lines of each cow. Just like the first, there were no signs of struggle or disturbance in the grass, no blood spill, and no noticeable tracks. No predators or birds would scavenge the remains for several weeks after death. The cause of death of all six cows remains unknown.” (Read more from “Law Enforcement Baffled by String of Cows Found Dead with Tongues Cut Out” HERE)

Obama-Appointed Judge Orders County to Replace Library Books With Controversial Transgender and Racial Content

A judge ordered officials of a Texas county to replace books that had been removed from libraries over controversial content related to transgender and racial issues.

The lawsuit against Llano County was filed in April by seven Llano County residents who opposed the removal of the books.

Among the 12 books removed were “Being Jazz: My Life as a (Transgender) Teen” by Jazz Jennings and “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents” by Isabel Wilkerson.

The lawsuit claims that the actions by county officials constituted a violation of their First and 14th Amendment rights.

U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman ordered officials to return the books to libraries and online in digital format. (Read more from “Obama-Appointed Judge Orders County to Replace Library Books With Controversial Transgender and Racial Content” HERE)

Trump Texas Rally Goes Quiet After He Mocks Ron DeSantis as ‘Begging’ for His Help

The typically raucous crowd at former President Donald Trump’s Waco, Texas, rally didn’t give him any love when he mocked Florida Gov. and expected presidential rival Ron DeSantis on Saturday.

Speaking to his supporters, Trump recounted how DeSantis asked him for an endorsement for his 2018 governor’s race, claiming the Florida Republican came to him with “tears in his eyes.”

The former president ultimately touted himself as DeSantis’ savior, claiming it was his endorsement that secured a win for the Florida governor.

But as Trump imitated DeSantis in a pleading voice, the throngs were unusually silent, failing to cheer as they did when he attacked other foes such as Hillary Clinton or Ted Cruz.

The incident is only the latest in a series of jabs between Trump and DeSantis, as both are poised to be the frontrunners for the GOP’s 2024 presidential nomination. (Read more from “Trump Texas Rally Goes Quiet After He Mocks Ron DeSantis as ‘Begging’ for His Help” HERE)

Spring Breakers Should Avoid Travel to Mexico, Texas Authorities Say

Texas officials strongly advise against taking a trip south of the border for spring break this year, urging Texans to avoid travel to Mexico for the popular travel period and beyond, according to a Friday press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The Texas authorities warned residents to steer clear of Mexico amid the recent violence in the country. The travel notice comes just after four Americans were recently kidnapped in Mexico, with two ending up dead.

“Drug cartel violence and other criminal activity represent a significant safety threat to anyone who crosses into Mexico right now,” Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw said. “Based on the volatile nature of cartel activity and the violence we are seeing there; we are urging individuals to avoid travel to Mexico at this time.”

In addition to this warning, federal officials urged any American citizen who doesn’t heed their warning to register with the American embassy or consulate prior to traveling. While the travel advice comes at the beginning of the spring break season, the Texas DPS said the warning applies “beyond” the vacation period as well.

The United States Department of State travel advisory on Mexico says, “Violent crime – such as homicide, kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery – is widespread and common” in the country. The department has “Do Not Travel” warnings to six Mexican states – including Tamaulipas, where the four Americans were recently kidnapped. In addition, they warn Americans to “Reconsider Travel” to seven Mexican states and “Exercise Increased Caution” during travel in 17 states. The department says to “Exercise Normal Precautions” in just two states. (Read more from “Spring Breakers Should Avoid Travel to Mexico, Texas Authorities Say” HERE)

Texas County Sees 540% Human Smuggling Increase Thanks to U.S. Border Crisis

A rural Texas county with just 800 citizens saw 7,400 illegal migrants arrested last year — but admits thousands more are getting away.

Terrell County, which has more cacti than residents, arrested nine border crossers for each of its citizens according to Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland — a 540% increase in the number captured since 2020.

Numbers have exploded as the southern border is besieged by millions running away from failing states in Southern and Central America, and desperation is pushing smugglers to make the days-long trek through his territory, which is why he’s asking Gov. Greg Abbott for desperately needed help.

“It is imperative we expand border security operations here as cartel operatives continue to operate and increase their smuggling routes through our county,” he told The Post.

Cleveland, 49, patrols the county with two deputies. They have 50 border patrol officers stationed in the county, who make the bulk of arrests of illegals. Federal agents who work in other areas of the border are sent to Sanderson for two weeks at a time to help deal with the 91 miles of the most hostile terrain on the southern border. Eleven Texas Department of Public Safety state troopers are also assigned to the area. (Read more from “Texas County Sees 540% Human Smuggling Increase Thanks to U.S. Border Crisis” HERE)

Texas Pedophile Kills Himself in Courtroom: Report

The liquid consumed by a Texas pedophile before he died inside a courtroom last year was determined to be sodium nitrite, according to the local medical examiner’s office that ruled his death a suicide.

Edward Leclair, 57, was on trial in Denton, Texas, in August facing five counts of sexual abuse and as the guilty verdict was being read, he downed a water bottle filled with a cloudy liquid.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office told the Daily Mail on Tuesday that Leclair died by suicide via the toxic effects of sodium nitrite.

Denton County Assistant District Attorney Jamie Beck told CNN at the time of Leclair’s death that an investigator observed Leclair chug the liquid before he was led away.

Beck told WFAA that while those in the courtroom thought his drink from the bottle was strange, they felt it was his way of dealing with the verdict. (Read more from “Texas Pedophile Kills Himself in Courtroom: Report” HERE)

Over 5,000 Babies Saved From Abortion in August 2022, State Report Confirms

A new report reveals abortions in Texas plummeted in August 2022, showing 0 legal elective abortions committed and 3 medically necessary abortions legally performed to save the life of the mother. A year ago in the same month, there were 5,706 lives taken by elective abortion.

Texas law allows abortion when the life of a mother is jeopardized by her pregnancy:

“Medical emergency” means a life-threatening physical condition aggravated by, caused by, or arising from a pregnancy that, as certified by a physician, places the woman in danger of death or a serious risk of substantial impairment of a major bodily function unless an abortion is performed.

Advancements in medical technology have greatly reduced the situations where both mother and child are at risk, but in rare and heartbreaking circumstances, a woman’s pregnancy can endanger her life. The death of the child is an indirect result of a life-saving intervention for the mother. We mourn the loss of the three children who tragically could not be saved last year but are grateful the doctors rightly protected the mothers rather than losing both precious lives. When Leaders Won’t Crack Down on Crime, Citizens Like the Texas Taco Guy Will

For years now, cities have failed to combat rising violent crime. Citizens are fed up and, as a result, are taking action. Such was the case in Houston this weekend when a customer at a taqueria shot and killed an armed robber.

Video footage of the late-night stick-up shows an armed man, clothed in a black ski mask, demanding wallets from diners. As the robber makes his rounds, a male customer in one of the booths can be seen reaching for his concealed handgun before firing nine times into the criminal’s back. Once he ensured the robber was disarmed of what was later reported to be an airsoft gun, the customer returned the other patrons’ stolen goods.

The mysterious vigilante disappeared from the taco shop before law enforcement could question him.

Texas law allows for the use of deadly force against a person committing or trying to commit robbery, aggravated robbery, and attempted murder, among other things. Whether the unnamed customer will be charged with a crime for stopping one, however — something Twitter users hotly debated over the weekend — remains to be seen.

This shooting, regardless of legality, is what happens when cities don’t crack down on crime. (Read more from “When Leaders Won’t Crack Down on Crime, Citizens Like the Texas Taco Guy Will” HERE)
