Donald Trump Says He Has ‘No Reason’ to Return to Twitter After Being Reinstated

By New York Post. Now that Twitter would have him as a member, Donald Trump doesn’t want to join.

The former president and perpetual candidate said Saturday he had “no reason” to return to the social media platform, after new owner Elon Musk said he could be reinstated following the results of a user poll.

Just over half of the 15 million Twitter users — 51.8% — that participated in Musk’s Friday survey voted to allow the Republican back onto what used to be his favorite platform. . .

The Republican, who dealt with the ban by starting his own social media site Truth Social, shrugged at the news, and had not posted to his 72.4 million followers on his @realDonaldTrump account since it reemerged.

“I don’t see any reason for it,” the former president said via video Saturday when asked about a potential return at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting. (Read more from “Donald Trump Says He Has ‘No Reason’ to Return to Twitter After Being Reinstated” HERE)

Elon Musk Reinstates Three Big Twitter Accounts

In a thread posted Friday afternoon, Elon Musk shared more about his plans for Twitter’s philosophy surrounding expression on the platform and announced a few accounts that had been reinstated.

Explaining Twitter’s new policy as “freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach,” Musk stated that posts deemed “negative/hate tweets” would be “max deboosted & demonetized” and only visible to those who “specifically seek it out.”

Musk did not share who would make such decisions or how tweets would be deemed negative or hateful, details that will hopefully be forthcoming as one of the old Twitter’s biggest issues was selectively enforced content standards that seemed to be based on the whims of liberal mobs and the feeble sensitivities of the tech company’s moderation team.

Musk did clarify that the new Twitter policy regarding “deboosted” tweets found to be negative or hateful would only apply to individual posts, and not to accounts posting such content.

Hunter Biden Interview Goes South After Host Gets Honest About What Happens ‘Behind the Scenes’

Hunter Biden’s interview on a Twitter Spaces live broadcast devolved into chaos after he was apparently disconnected from the line, and the host launched into a rant about his hands being “tied” on what he was allowed to ask the president’s son.

Hunter Biden appeared on “The Crypto Roundtable Show” with host Mario Nawfal on Tuesday, the day of the week the host typically reserves for topics related to NFTs (non-fungible tokens). Biden, however, had very little commentary to offer on NFTs or cryptocurrency.

Biden appeared on the show alongside “Tron” producer Donald Kushner and talked a little about his drug recovery and how painting around the clock has helped him stay sober, and Kushner promoted his new Web3-inspired Cryptosaurs NFT collection.

Toward the end of the interview, as Nawfal was thanking the men for appearing on the show, it appeared that they both hopped off without saying anything. The perceived slight sent Nawfal into rant, saying his “hands were tied” on what he could ask Biden.

“They just jumped off now,” he said. “So, that gives you an idea of how – behind the scenes, that was tough. … There was a lot of requirements we had to meet. F— that was so stressful. That was so f—ing stressful, man.” (Read more from “Hunter Biden Interview Goes South After Host Gets Honest About What Happens ‘Behind the Scenes’” HERE)

Twitter Manager Vomited After Elon Musk Ordered Him to Fire Employees: Report; Twitter Exec Who Censored the Post’s Hunter Biden Exposés Quits in Latest Mass Exodus

By New York Post. A Twitter manager threw up in a trash can after new CEO Elon Musk directed him to fire hundreds of employees as part of the company’s decision to slash its workforce in half, according to a new report.

The graphic detail was revealed in a sweeping New York Times report published Friday that painted a grim picture of Twitter’s overhaul as it faces executive resignations, fleeing advertisers and revenue struggles.

The Times spoke with 36 current and former Twitter employees since Musk’s $44 billion takeover of the social media giant, some of whom told the newspaper many staffers learned about the mass layoffs via an internal Slack channel where HR and legal teams discussed the impending move two days before they began on Nov. 4.

One widely-shared message on Slack indicated as many as 3,738 workers could be laid off. Employees immediately began saying their goodbyes and exchanging information, The Times reported.

“One engineering manager was approached by Mr. Musk’s advisers — or ‘goons,’ as Twitter employees called them — with a list of hundreds of people he had to let go. He vomited into a trash can near his feet,” The Times wrote. (Read more from “Twitter Manager Vomited After Elon Musk Ordered Him to Fire Employees: Report” HERE)

Yoel Roth, the Twitter Exec Who Censored the Post’s Hunter Biden Exposés, Quits in Latest Mass Exodus

By New York Post. The Twitter exec who censored The Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden — and brazenly likened members of the Trump administration to Nazis — has quit just days after getting public support from new boss Elon Musk.

Yoel Roth, 35, until Wednesday had continued pushing the site’s shifting policies on trolling and hateful conduct — and appeared alongside new owner Musk, 51, in defending the platform in a crunch meeting with advertisers that same day.

But Twitter staffers were told on Slack on Thursday that Roth was the latest key exec to have resigned, according to employees.

Roth also confirmed his exit by changing his bio on the site he’d worked at for seven years to “Former Head of Trust & Safety at @Twitter.”

The long-contentious exec was just one of the latest key figures to join the exodus during the unprecedented crisis that Musk this week admitted could end in bankruptcy. (Read more from “Yoel Roth, the Twitter Exec Who Censored the Post’s Hunter Biden Exposés, Quits in Latest Mass Exodus” HERE)

Biden Suggests Elon Musk’s Twitter Deal Is ‘Worth Being Looked at’ as a Possible National Security Threat

President Joe Biden said that it was worth looking into Elon Musk’s associations with foreign governments after being prompted by a reporter Wednesday.

Biden was asked to comment on the possibility of Musk’s associations being a national threat to U.S. security after he gave remarks about the results of the midterm elections.

“Do you think Elon Musk is a threat to U.S. national security and should the U.S., with the tools you have, investigate his joint acquisition of Twitter with foreign governments, which include the Saudis?” asked the reporter.

Biden laughed and paused before answering.

“I think that Elon Musk’s cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at,” he responded. (Read more from “Biden Suggests Elon Musk’s Twitter Deal Is ‘Worth Being Looked at’ as a Possible National Security Threat” HERE)

Elon Musk Makes Election Day Choice, Gives Recommendation to ‘Independent-Minded Voters’

Billionaire Twitter CEO Elon Musk endorsed Republicans for the midterm election cycle on Monday, telling voters to cast ballots for a Republican Congress.

Musk’s announcement comes months after he first announced plans to vote Republican earlier this year. He argued Monday that having a government split between two parties is ideal, and noted President Biden’s possession of the White House for Democrats before saying Congress should go to Repubilicans.

“To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,” Musk wrote.

Musk’s endorsement follows through on his vow to vote Republican in May. (Read more from “Elon Musk Makes Election Day Choice, Gives Recommendation to ‘Independent-Minded Voters'” HERE)

Facebook Parent Meta to Make Massive Layoffs, Could Be Bigger Than Twitter’s Cuts, Report Says

Facebook’s parent company, Meta, is reportedly planning to start making wide-scale layoffs this week in what could be the largest the industry has seen in a very long time.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the company informed employees to cancel travel plans this week as the layoffs are expected to begin as soon as Wednesday.

The number of Meta’s 87,000 employees that are expected to be laid off could be greater than the roughy 3,700 employees who were let go last week at Twitter by the company’s new CEO Elon Musk, the report said, adding that this would be the first time that the company has made large-scale layoffs in its nearly two decade history.

The report said that the company was planning to cut expenses by “at least 10% in the coming months, in part through staff reductions.”

CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees over the summer, “Realistically, there are probably a bunch of people at the company who shouldn’t be here.” (Read more from “Facebook Parent Meta to Make Massive Layoffs, Could Be Bigger Than Twitter’s Cuts, Report Says” HERE)

Twitter Delaying $8 Blue Checks Until After Election Day — As Some Fired Workers Are Asked Back: Reports

Twitter is delaying doling out blue verification check marks as part of its new subscription service until after Tuesday’s elections — while the company is already asking some fired workers to come back, reports say.

The social-media giant, bought by tech billionaire Elon Musk late last month, is holding off on the “verification” part of its new premium $8-a-month subscription service after worries grew that the move could affect Tuesday’s midterm Election Day, according to the New York Times, which cited an internal post it reviewed and two people with knowledge of the decision.

Twitter workers and users conveyed concerns the new service could lead to confusion on Tuesday’s Election Day, with social-media users possibly posing as officials or news outlets and paying for a verification badge in a bid to push out false information.

The company decided to hold off on that aspect of the subscription just one day after it announced the monthly cost requirement as part of the app’s special offering dubbed Twitter Blue. Laid-off Twitter Employees Reveal Their Fates: ‘8 Months Pregnant’

Elon Musk-led Twitter began a long-dreaded and drastic round of layoffs on Friday — and numerous workers took to the social media site to confirm they were caught in the bloodbath.

Company officials began informing laid-off employees about their fate via an email message on Friday morning as Musk scrambles to cut costs at the struggling firm.

Roughly half of Twitter’s 7,500 employees were expected to lose their jobs during the culling — with some workers claiming they had lost access to systems overnight.

“Looks like I’m unemployed y’all. Just got remotely logged out of my work laptop and removed from Slack,” tweeted Simon Balmain, a former senior community manager at Twitter. “#OneTeam forever. Loved you all so much. So sad it had to end this way.”

Elon Musk Cancels ‘Days of Rest’ for Twitter Employees as Layoffs Loom: Report

Twitter’s “days of rest” for employee are now a thing of the past under new owner Elon Musk, according to a report Thursday.

Twitter began offering one companywide paid rest day per month, in addition to normal paid time off, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The policy was meant to help reduce burnout among staffers.

But Musk has eliminated future “days of rest” from Twitter’s calendar this week, sources familiar with the situation told Bloomberg. The move came as Musk swiftly overhauls Twitter’s workplace culture after completing his $44 billion deal to buy the firm last week.

The Post has reached out to Twitter for comment on the change.

Musk interrupted one of Twitter’s “days of rest” even before he became the company’s owner and CEO. In April, employees reportedly learned that Musk had rejected an offer to take a seat on Twitter’s board of directors just before a scheduled day off — a development that left workers stressed out instead of relaxed.
