Putin Tells Tucker Carlson: ‘Ukraine is Obviously a Satellite State of the U.S. (VIDEO)

Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed, “Ukraine is obviously a satellite state of the U.S.” in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson published on Thursday.

“Ukraine is obviously a satellite state of the U.S. It is evident,” Putin asserted in an interview with Tucker Carlson on Tuesday.

Watch Below (time code — 01:58:15):

Putin was responding to a question from Carlson, who asked, “Are you worried that what’s happening in Ukraine could lead to something much larger and much more horrible? And how motivated are you to call the U.S. government and say, ‘Let’s come to terms’?”

“I already said that we did not refuse to talk. We’re willing to negotiate,” Putin replied. “It is the Western side – and Ukraine is obviously a satellite state of the U.S. It is evident.”

Carlson replied, saying, “Of course, they’re a satellite. Big countries control small countries. That’s not new.” (Read more from “Putin Tells Tucker Carlson: ‘Ukraine is Obviously a Satellite State of the U.S.” HERE)

Tucker Carlson Releases Two-Hour Interview With Vladimir Putin

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson landed an exclusive two-hour interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Carlson released his interview on X yesterday.

The interview, which occurred on February 6th, 2024, in Moscow, Russia, provided a platform for Putin to share his perspective on the Biden administration’s role on the Russia/Ukraine war. Speaking through a translator, Putin discussed Russia’s advancements in hypersonic strike systems, claiming a lead over the United States and other nations in this technological domain.

On negotiations concerning the Ukraine war, Putin asserted Russia’s willingness to engage in dialogue, putting the onus on the western side. Putin even suggested that peace could be achieved within weeks if arms shipments from the United States ceased.

The dialogue touched upon various facets of global affairs, including the history of Russia, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and Russia’s current relationship with the United States. Putin recounted Russia’s attempts to build relations worldwide and highlighted warnings to the U.S. against supporting separatism in the Middle East, a caution that, according to him, went unheeded.

The discussion on Ukraine unfolded with Putin accusing the CIA of backing a coup in Kyiv, characterizing it as a “colossal mistake.” He disputed the portrayal of Russia as the aggressor, attributing the start of the war in 2014 to Ukraine. Additionally, Putin discussed Russia’s goal of achieving de-Nazification in the region.

Carlson questioned Putin about Western reports suggesting Russia planned on invading Poland. Putin dismissed the idea, accusing NATO of fearmongering and clarified Russia’s lack of interest in neighboring countries.

Carlson brought up the case of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, imprisoned in Russia for nearly a year, to Putin. Carlson appealed to Putin’s decency and requested he release the journalist [via Daily Caller]

“I just want to ask you directly, if as a sign of your decency, you’d be willing to release him to us, and we’ll bring him back to the United States?” Carlson said.

“We have done so many gestures of goodwill out of decency that I think we have run out of them,” the Russian president said. “We have never seen anyone reciprocate to us in a similar manner. However, in theory, we can say that we do not rule out that we can do that. If our partners take reciprocal steps.”

The Russian president alleged Gershkovich received “classified, confidential information.”

While the interview offered valuable insights, it also drew criticism from figures in the media and beyond. Bill Kristol called for a “total and complete shutdown” of Carlson reentering the U.S., and Bill Browder labeled Carlson as “remarkably stupid or consciously evil.”

UA POV: In June, USAID introduced and advertised “Digital ID Linked to Bank Account” (DIAA) to Ukraine. This ‘State in Smartphone’ app quickly became #1 downloaded. Now, UAs mobilization bill proposes asset freezes for draft dodgers at home & abroad, which can be easily done via DIAA

Tucker Carlson Spotted in Moscow: Interview With Putin?

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has triggered a frenzy of speculation after being spotted in Moscow over the weekend, with people on social media anticipating a potential exclusive interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Carlson’s unexpected presence in the Russian capital has set social media abuzz with speculation about the purpose of his unannounced visit.

Carlson arrived in Moscow on February 1st and has spent the last three days in the city. The conservative commentator was first observed boarding a Turkish Airlines plane from Istanbul to Moscow’s Vnukovo airport. Carlson was also photographed attending the ballet “Spartacus” at the renowned Bolshoi Theater in Moscow over the weekend.

Social media posts have fueled speculation among conservatives especially, with some suggesting that the visit could be linked to a potential interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Previously, Carlson had expressed his intention to interview Putin during his tenure at Fox News, but he claimed the U.S. government intervened, preventing the meeting. Carlson previously alleged the U.S. government was monitoring him.

“I tried to interview Vladimir Putin, and the U.S. government stopped me,” Carlson stated in an interview with the Swiss publication Die Weltwoche in September. “By the way, nobody defended me. I don’t think there was anybody in the news media who said, ‘Wait a second. I may not like this guy, but he has a right to interview anyone he wants, and we have a right to hear what Putin says.'”

Russia Moves to Ban LGBTQ Groups as “Extremist” Organizations

Russia’s justice ministry has filed a motion with the country’s Supreme Court to ban the activities of what it calls the “international LGBT public movement” as extremist. . .

It said the movement had shown signs of “extremist activity”, including inciting “social and religious strife”.

The ban could leave any LGBT activist vulnerable to criminal prosecution. . .

The ban would make it impossible for LGBT organizations to operate and put activists and employees at risk of criminal prosecution, the Moscow Times quoted one of the few LGBT activists still inside Russia as saying. . .

Russia under Mr. Putin has cracked down on LGBT activism, which he sees as part of an attack by the West on “traditional Russian values”. (Read more from “Russia Moves to Ban LGBTQ Groups as “Extremist” Organizations” HERE)

Nuclear War Will Happen, Putin Ally Warns

A Russian propagandist with close ties to Vladimir Putin has warned nuclear war is “unavoidable” but that it won’t lead to the collapse of humanity by citing previous nuclear blasts.

In a recent debate on state TV, Rossiya-1 host Vladimir Solovyov justified his view by saying that a nuclear strike would not lead to widespread death and destruction if “used against a non-nuclear nation”—perhaps a foreboding hint at the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, which has turned into a slow, attritional war with over 300,000 Russian casualties.

Newsweek reached out to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs via email for comment on Friday.

The use of nuclear arms is something the Russian president has previously threatened, sparking outrage from NATO, but has yet to act on given the nuclear arsenal held by members of the alliance, including the United States.

However, the threat of nuclear attacks by Russia is something propagandists have increasingly been mentioning as the military situation in Ukraine grows more dire. (Read more from “Nuclear War Will Happen, Putin Ally Warns” HERE)

Russia Pleads for Biden to Invite Putin to APEC Summit

Biden will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in November, an annual gathering of Indo-Pacific leaders that could include a much-anticipated meeting between the U.S. leader and Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping. Yet Putin appears to be on the receiving end of a maddening snub, as Biden’s team is poised to exclude foreign officials who have been slapped with sanctions, even a Kremlin chief who styles himself an heir to Czar Peter the Great.

“The U.S. has informed us through bilateral channels that this year they are not going to invite a number of leaders because of the sanctions restrictions that apply to them,” Berdyyev complained.

Putin has been choosy about what international events he attends in recent months. He was forced to make only a virtual appearance at the BRICS summit in South Africa because the host nation is treaty-bound to arrest him on behalf of the International Criminal Court if he enters in the country. Putin skipped the subsequent G20 summit in India, but he is expected to travel to China next month.

Biden’s stiff-arming of Putin coincides with another effort by Russian officials to come in from the diplomatic cold. Russian envoys are launching a campaign to win a seat on the U.N. Human Rights Council, a race decided by a vote of the U.N. General Assembly, even as U.N. officials continue to document allegations of widespread acts of torture and rape perpetrated by invading Russian forces in Ukraine. Russia Deploys Intercontinental Ballistic Missile for ‘Combat Duty’

The head of Russia’s Roscosmos space agency said Friday that the country has deployed an advanced intercontinental ballistic missile that President Vladimir Putin once said will make Russia’s enemies “think twice.”

Agency head Yuri Borisov said Sarmat missiles have been placed on combat duty, according to Russian news agencies. Further details were not reported.

The Sarmat is one of several advanced weapons whose development Putin announced in 2018. The silo-based missile, capable of carrying multiple nuclear warheads, is intended to replace the R-36 ICBMs that are known by the NATO reporting name of Satan.

Putin Breaks Silence on Prigozhin’s Plane Crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday made his first comments about Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin’s presumed death in a plane crash.

“I’ve known Prigozhin for a very long time, since the early 1990s. He was a man with no easy fate. He made some serious mistakes in his life, but he also achieved the needed results—both for himself and, when I asked him, for the common cause,” Putin said during a televised meeting, according to the Kremlin-controlled news agency Tass.

Putin’s comments are the closest words yet in way of confirmation regarding Prigozhin’s death. The founder of the mercenary Wagner organization was listed as a passenger on a jet that crashed in Russia’s Tver region on Wednesday, killing all 10 people aboard.

Prigozhin was once a close ally of Putin, and his Wagner Group grew to prominence during the war in Ukraine after Putin’s formal military suffered a string of defeats at the ends of Kyiv’s forces. More recently, though, Prigozhin fell out of favor with the Kremlin after he accused Russia’s military of attacking his troops before launching a brief mutiny against Moscow in late June that ended shortly after it began. Pentagon Shuts Down Theory About Plane Crash That ‘Likely’ Killed Putin Foe Prigozhin

U.S. officials said they believe Wagner mercenary group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was likely killed in a plane crash Wednesday, as theories continue to swirl that the Russian government was involved in his death.

Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said the U.S. would not comment on whether Prigozhin’s death was part of a deliberate assassination.

“First of all, our initial assessment is that it’s likely Prigozhin was killed,” he said. “We don’t have any information to indicate, right now, the press reporting, stating that there was some type of surface-to-air missile that took down the plane. But, we assess that information to be inaccurate.”

Prigozhin was killed Wednesday in a plane crash that left 10 people dead outside of Moscow, state media reported. The business jet was traveling from the Russian capital to St. Petersburg when it went down in the Tver region, according to the TASS news agency. Sobering U.S. Intelligence Assessment Reportedly Undercuts Zelensky’s Upbeat Hopes of Ukrainian Victory This Year

The headline on this morning’s Washington Post is bound to infuriate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and embolden Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“U.S. expects Kyiv to fall short, UNLIKELY TO RETAKE VITAL CRIMEA HUB, Dug-in Russian defenses stymie counteroffensive,” screams the headline in the print edition that landed on driveways and doorsteps of Washington homes this morning. The report cites a classified assessment from the U.S. intelligence community that Ukrainian forces are unlikely to reach the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol, a principle objective of the counteroffensive aimed at severing Russia’s land bridge by year’s end.

“The grim assessment is based on Russia’s brutal proficiency in defending occupied territory through a phalanx of minefields and trenches, and is likely to prompt finger pointing inside Kyiv and Western capitals about why a counteroffensive that saw tens of billions of dollars of Western weapons and military equipment fell short of its goals,” the report says.

Ukrainian forces are slowly advancing south from the town of Robotyne toward Melitopol, which is a key logistics hub with major highways and rail lines, but U.S. officials told the Washington Post that they’re not expected to be able to retake the city.
