Putin Handed His Political Rival a Lighter Sentence Than Biden Wants to Give Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s primary political rival, Alexei Navalny, was just banished to 19 years in prison after Russia’s corrupt state prosecution demanded a 20-year sentence. Navalny, who has been hyper-critical of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, has been incarcerated since January 2021, and this latest 19-year sentence is on top of two separate sentences amounting to over 11 years in prison.

However, Navalny’s prison sentence pales in comparison to the prison time President Joe Biden’s DOJ and the partisan stooges in the Manhattan district attorney’s office want to hand former President Donald Trump. Trump, Biden’s primary political opponent, has been indicted three times now. If convicted of all counts and given the maximum sentence, he would face 641 years in prison. In addition to being the most likely Republican nominee for the 2024 election, Trump also happens to be one of the most vocal and fierce critics of American involvement in the Ukraine war under Biden.

With zero self-awareness, Biden administration officials have condemned the imprisonment of Navalny, while simultaneously interfering in our own elections via the political persecution of Trump by Biden’s Justice Department.

Last Friday, one day after Trump was arraigned for engaging in First Amendment-protected speech, U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller decried Navalny’s 19-year prison sentence, writing in a statement that it was “an unjust conclusion to an unjust trial.” (Read more from “Putin Handed His Political Rival a Lighter Sentence Than Biden Wants to Give Trump” HERE)

Kim Jong Un Decorates Walls With Huge Portraits of Putin (VIDEO)

Images posted Friday by North Korean state media show that the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, had large portraits of Russian President Vladimir Putin installed throughout an official building.

The portraits can be seen in photographs of Kim with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who is visiting Pyongyang this week to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War, which is called “Victory Day” in North Korea.

Max Seddon, the Moscow bureau chief for the Financial Times, noted the presence of the portraits—which are visible in multiple rooms of the building—and created a slideshow that he posted on Twitter.

Though Putin didn’t accompany Shoigu to Pyongyang, he sent a letter to Kim that was published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Friday. (Read more from “Kim Jong Un Decorates Walls With Huge Portraits of Putin” HERE)

Russian Analyst Says Use of Nuclear Weapons Can Stop World War 3 and Human Extinction

A former adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin has reiterated his belief that using nuclear weapons would prevent World War III from happening.

In an interview with Russian state media RT Saturday, professor Sergey Karaganov, the honorary chairman of Russia’s Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, noted that the decision to use nuclear weapons would be a difficult moral choice for Russia, but he claimed it would save humanity from a potential extinction brought on by a full-blown nuclear war.

“The decision to use nuclear weapons is a terrible moral challenge, a terrible moral decision. Morally it will hurt us, or whoever will use it, but sometimes you have to choose,” Karaganov said, according to Washington, D.C.-based MEMRI.

“The famous Dostoevsky dictum – will you sacrifice the child to save humanity… It’s a philosophically terrible choice, but I decided to become unpopular by choosing to save humanity,” the Russian political scientist said.

Karaganov said he believes the West, which he claims “is losing all strategic thinking,” would “back off” if Russia decides to escalate its threats of using nuclear weapons. (Read more from “Russian Analyst Says Use of Nuclear Weapons Can Stop World War 3 and Human Extinction” HERE)

Russian Coup Leader Was Warned He Would Be ‘Crushed Like a Bug’ if Troops Reached Moscow

Wagner Group commander Yevgeny Prigozhin was warned his troops would be “crushed like a bug” if they reached Moscow during their coup attempt, it was revealed Tuesday.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he told the mercenary leader that his men would be utterly destroyed, while describing how he negotiated a deal for Wagner to halt the mutinous march in exchange for immunity, CNN reported.

Lukashenko detailed his frenzied back-and-forth phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prigozhin on Saturday to try to halt the coup attempt, during which the Wagner chief mainly swore.

He said Prigozhin had been adamant about advancing to Moscow as a show of protest for the alleged wrongdoings against Wagner, but the mercenary leader quickly changed his tune once the negotiator informed him that he would face devastating results.

“For a long time, I was trying to convince him. And in the end, I said, ‘You know, you can do whatever you want. But don’t be offended by me. Our brigade is ready for transfer to Moscow,’ ” Lukashenko, a longtime Putin ally, told state media. Putin Claims Ukraine Counter-Offensive Is Failing

Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that Ukraine’s counter-offensive has been unsuccessful, with its army suffering major losses.

Speaking at a meeting of war correspondents, he said that Kyiv’s losses were approaching a “catastrophic” level.

That has not been verified, and Ukrainian President Zelensky has denied the counter-offensive is failing. . .

Kyiv’s counter-offensive is in its early stages, and modest gains have been made in the eastern Donetsk and south-eastern Zaporizhzhia regions. Mr Zelensky has also claimed advances in Bakhmut.

But the situation is not as clear-cut than the triumphant claims of liberation which came from Kyiv earlier this week. (Read more from “Putin Claims Ukraine Counter-Offensive Is Failing” HERE)

Kremlin: Putin Open to Peace Talks to End Ukraine War, but Only if West Offers Concessions

Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to negotiations to end his country’s war in Ukraine, Kremlin officials said Saturday, though the prospects for talks remain dim amid Moscow’s insistence that any resolution includes recognition of its territorial claims in Ukraine‘s eastern Donbas region.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian media over the weekend that Mr. Putin seeks a “peaceful” resolution to the conflict but signaled that any ceasefire hinges on the West offering significant concessions to Russia.

Such a scenario so far has been a non-starter for Ukraine, the U.S. and NATO.

“President Putin has been, is, and will be open to any contact in order to attain our objectives by other means than the special military operation. If it is possible, it would be preferable,” Mr. Peskov told Russia‘s Rossiya-1 TV station on Saturday.

His comments come amid continued fighting in eastern Ukraine, particularly in and around Bakhmut, which Russian troops say they control even as Ukrainian military officials say fighting continues on the outskirts of the city. Putin Visits Russian Troops in Occupied Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the headquarters of Russian troops fighting in Ukraine early Tuesday, his second trip to the Russian-held territories there since March.

A video released by the Kremlin and broadcast by Russian state television showed Putin visiting the command post for Russian forces in the southern Kherson region. It showed Putin arriving by helicopter to receive reports from the top military brass about the combat situation.

The Russian leader then moved by helicopter to the headquarters of the Russian National Guard of the eastern Luhansk region to hear a report from commanders.

In both locations, Putin congratulated the military on Orthodox Easter, which was celebrated Sunday and presented them with icons.

Russia annexed the Kherson and Luhansk regions along with the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions in September in a move that was rejected by much of the world as illegal. (Read more from “Putin Visits Russian Troops in Occupied Ukraine” HERE)

Putin Boasts of ‘Joint Military Exercises’ in Meeting With Chinese Defense Chief

Russian President Vladimir Putin touted “military-to-military cooperation” with China while hosting the communist regime’s defense chief at the Kremlin.

“We also hold joint military exercises in various theaters of operation, including in the Far East, Europe, at sea, on land, as well as in the air,” Putin told Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu, according to the Kremlin transcript. “I do believe that this constitutes a major track for strengthening the trust-based strategic relationship between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.”

Li traveled to Moscow less than a month after Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping made the trek as Russia and China seek to dramatize their geopolitical cooperation. The meeting on Monday coincided with separate military exercises in the Pacific by each state, while world powers clashed at the U.N. Security Council over North Korea’s nuclear weapons program and Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with democratic heavyweights in Japan.

“We have a very strong relationship that goes beyond the Cold War-era military and political alliances,” the Chinese defense minister said. “Under your strategic leadership and that of the President of China, we are actively developing cooperation in practical spheres. Our relations have already entered a new era.”

Xi has stopped short of taking direct steps to arm Russia in its campaign to overthrow the Ukrainian government, but Ukrainian forces have begun to find larger numbers and varieties of “dual-use” Chinese components in Russian arms, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s team. Russian Pop Star Found Dead From Drowning After Criticizing Putin

Russian pop star Dima Nova was found dead from drowning on Sunday after criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin. He was 34.

Born Dmitry Svirgunov, Nova founded the popular electronic group Cream Soda — whose song “Aqua Disco” became an anthem for anti-war protests in Russia, Newsweek reported.

In the song, the pop group called out Putin over his alleged $1.3 billion mansion. The song was commonly heard at protests against the country both before and after Russia’s invasion into Ukraine. These protests became known as “Aqua Disco Parties.” . . .

The report cited an article in a Russian news website People Talk that said Nova fell through the ice while crossing the Volga river in the Yaroslavl region, north east of Moscow. Svirgunov was not alone – he was reportedly with his brother Roma and a couple friends. (Read more from “Russian Pop Star Found Dead From Drowning After Criticizing Putin” HERE)

Xi Jinping Uses Russia Trip to Position China as the Winner of Ukraine Invasion

Chinese dictator Xi Jinping emphasized on Monday that his visit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, charged with human rights crimes before the International Criminal Court (ICC) less than a week ago, is intended to promote “friendship, cooperation, and peace,” positioning China as a mediator in the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Xi will be in Moscow from Monday to Wednesday, meeting with Putin and other senior leaders. Xi has emphasized China’s potential role in the Ukraine crisis since arriving, promoting a Chinese “peace plan” debuted last month that demands a ceasefire, lays no blame on either side, and does not offer specificity on its demand for both sides to “calm down as soon as possible.”

Arriving on Monday, Xi vowed that China would “stand guard over the world order,” hinting at ambitions to mediate the Ukraine conflict.

Both Russia and Ukraine have offered tepid reactions to the peace plan but have encouraged Beijing to get more involved in the conflict in the role of mediator. If successful in halting some of the hostilities, Xi could use Ukraine to greatly elevate China’s international reputation as peacemaker, even as China continues to execute a years-long genocide on its own people.

The Russian news agency Tass reported that his first meeting with Putin on Monday lasted 4.5 hours and, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, “obviously” addressed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Xi and Putin will return to talks at 3 p.m. local time on Tuesday, Peskov added, regarding both countries’ bilateral ties and the Ukraine invasion.
