White House Discussing Possible Resumption of Nuclear Testing

The White House has been discussing the possible resumption of testing nuclear devices as a means to pressure Russia and China to come to the bargaining table.

Nuclear testing was completely banned in 1991 when George H. W. Bush signed the START treaty. Resuming tests now would send a clear message that the U.S. wants another arms control treaty, this time involving China. China has rebuffed the suggestion, saying its nuclear arsenal is tiny compared to those of Russia and America. But the Chinese military is building missiles as fast as it can, and putting the brakes on China’s efforts makes sense.

The White House meeting discussing the testing option was a “deputies level” meeting, meaning it didn’t involve any cabinet secretaries or the president.

Guardian:

The discussion was first reported on Friday night by the Washington Post, which cited a senior administration official as saying that a demonstration to Moscow and Beijing that the United States could carry out a “rapid test” could be a useful bargaining counter in the achieving the administration’s priority on arms control – a trilateral deal with Russia and China.

WATCH: White House Press Secretary Gets Emotional While Discussing Ravi Zacharias’ Influence on Her Faith

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany recently got emotional while discussing the passing of renowned Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias, who died Tuesday morning from a rare form of cancer.

During an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, McEnany explained how Zacharias’ lifetime of reasoned defense of Christianity helped equip her during her time at Oxford University, an institution prevalent with distinguished atheist scholars.

“It’s a huge loss. You know, my dad said to me that Billy Graham was the great evangelist, and I think Ravi Zacharias is the great apologist,” McEnany said as tears welled up in her eyes.

“To have someone from an academic place, as an apologist could equip you with those arguments where you didn’t have to check your brain at the door when you became a Christian where there is the intellectual foundation for everything we believe,” McEnany explained. “There’s prophecy. There’s the human cell. There’s the amazing creation of the human body and all of its complexity and the planet, the universe.”

Claim: White House Reportedly Identified, Will Remove ‘Anonymous’ Resistance Official

The anonymous member of the Trump administration who penned a scathing anti-Trump op-ed in the New York Times, asserted his or her position as a member of the “resistance,” and went on to write a tell-all book has been pinpointed by the administration and will be removed, former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova claimed on Monday.

DiGenova, who is not a Trump administration official, claims that a senior government official informed him that the Trump administration has identified the senior official behind the infamous “resistance” op-ed, which was published in the Times in 2018.

“Remember that article in the New York Times by ‘Anonymous,’ which was written allegedly by someone inside the administration? I am told that soon there will be someone else leaving the White House who wrote that article,” he told WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall host Vince Coglianese on Monday.

“Apparently, they have identified ‘Anonymous,’ and we were told that — Victoria and I were at a dinner with a senior government official last week — and were told that by this person. They have, in fact, identified ‘Anonymous.’”

DiGenova would not say if the official was part of the National Security Council (NSC), telling Coglianese, “I don’t want to give out too much information and reveal the source of the information.” (Read more from “Claim: White House Reportedly Identified, Will Remove ‘Anonymous’ Resistance Official” HERE)

White House Refuses to Participate in Jerry Nadler’s Impeachment Inquiry

White House Counsel Pat Cipollone wrote a five-page letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) on Sunday, rejecting participation in what Cipollone called a “baseless and highly partisan” impeachment inquiry.

Nadler had given the president and his lawyers until 6:00 p.m. EST to respond to a request to participate in the opening hearing of the Judiciary Committee’ inquiry on Wednesday, focusing on constitutional and legal issues. Democrats had prepared four witnesses, unnamed as of Sunday: three were reportedly in favor of impeachment. Separately, Nadler gave the White House a deadline of Friday, Dec. 6, to participate in the broader inquiry.

In his letter (via Politico), Cipollone said that the Democrats’ process “violates all past historical precedent, basic due process rights, and fundamental fairness.” He accused Democrats of deliberately scheduling the opening hearing during the president’s upcoming trip to the NATO Leaders Summit in London this week.

Cipollone further pointed out that the opening hearing would “include no fact witnesses at all,” and that neither the first nor subsequent hearings were clear about what witnesses would be called, or about what rights the president would be provided. (He reserved the right to respond to Nadler’s broader invitation by the Friday deadline.) . . .

He added, further, that Nadler’s threat to take action if the White House continued to resist providing witnesses and documents — even on constitutional grounds — amounted to a total denial of procedural rights to the president. Rapper Kicks Fan off Stage for Refusing to Yell ‘F*** Trump’, White House Responds

Rapper YG crudely bullied a fan at his concert for refusing to yell “f*** Trump”, when pulled up on stage, has prompted a vociferous response from the White House.

“Another example of the tolerant left,” White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham sarcastically told Fox News on Monday morning.

The hit from Grisham came in response to the viral video on Sunday that showed YG treating a fan at one of his concert with contempt and disdain for not singing along to his anti-Trump anthem “FDT” (F*** Donald Trump”) after inviting the young man on stage.

“I spotted you in the crowd, I asked if you f**k with Donald Trump. You said, ‘You don’t know.’ So since you don’t know, I need you to make up your mind tonight,” said YG as he demanded that the fan state his name and yell out, “F*** Donald Trump.” . . .

[Warning: video contains explicit language.]

“No, you won’t?” asked YG in response to the fan. “Get his ass outta here! He a Donald Trump supporter. Get his ass outta here! Don’t come to a motherfu**in’ show with YG on a motherfu**in’ billboard, Donald Trump supporter. Don’t let his a** back in the crowd. Tell ’em YG said so.” (Read more from “Rapper Kicks Fan off Stage for Refusing to Yell ‘F*** Trump'” HERE)

WATCH: Trump Stopped Cold When a Black Supporter Asked to Pray for Him — What She Did Next Floored the Room

As young black leaders gathered Friday in the White House for the Young Black Leadership Summit, one voice split the room asking for a moment to pray for President Donald Trump.

Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson shared video of what happened when the president brought the young woman to the podium. Mahalet, once an abandoned, impoverished orphan from Ethiopia, earned smiles and cheers from the president and the gathered crowd.

“I’m not really good with prayers or anything like that but I just want to say thank you, Mr. President, and I know we have a political warfare right now, but I strongly believe that it is a spiritual one as well,” Mahalet said to cheers from the crowd.

“And I want to make sure that I mean, I know that Americans are gonna wake up and we’re gonna get back to looking to God instead of social media and we’re gonna look back to Jesus because Jesus saves and this country was founded upon the Constitution, was built on Godly principles and we’re gonna fight for that,” she said. “And I just want to encourage you guys to pray every day for this nation.” (Read more from “Trump Stopped Cold When a Black Supporter Asked to Pray for Him — What She Did Next Floored the Room” HERE)

Impeachment Showdown: Three House Committees Slap White House With Subpoenas

Three Democratic Committee Chairman – Elijah Cummings of the House Oversight Committee; Adam Schiff of the House Intelligence Committee; and Eliot Engel of the House Foreign Affairs Committee – came together on Friday to issue a subpoena against the White House as part of the House’s impeachment inquiry. The Committees sent a letter to Acting Chief of Staff John Mulvaney, demanding documents be provided by October 18th.

“The Committees are investigating the extent to which President Trump jeopardized national security by pressing Ukraine to interfere with our 2020 election and by withholding security assistance provided by Congress to help Ukraine counter Russian aggression, as well as any efforts to cover up these matters,” the letter reads.

According to the Committee leaders, the “White House has refused to engage with – or even respond to – multiple requests for documents from our Committees on a voluntary basis,” something they say constitutes “stonewalling.” . . .

According to the three men, the full House doesn’t need to vote on the inquiry because they adopted the rules, “which provide the Oversight Committee with its own independent oversight and legislative jurisdiction to investigate these matters – including authority to issue subpoenas to the White House.” (Read more from “Impeachment Showdown: Three House Committees Slap White House With Subpoenas” HERE)

The Secret Service Arrested One of the El Paso Survivors That President Trump Invited to the White House

The Secret Service arrested one of the El Paso, Texas, survivors that President Donald Trump intended to honor when he arrived at the White House. . .

On Aug. 3, a 21-year-old man entered a Walmart in El Paso and opened fire, murdering 22 people and wounding dozens others. He was later apprehended by police. He later admitted to targeting Hispanics.

One of the invitees was 50-year-old Chris Grant. In addition to being shot during the attack, Grant claimed to have thrown things, including bottles, at the attacker. Trump also praised Grant, asking his family to thank him on behalf of the country. . .

“Nobody bothered to check with us,” El Paso police spokesman Sgt. Enrique Carrillo told the Washington Examiner. “They would have been informed, as I am telling you now, that our detectives reviewed hours of video and his actions did not match his account.”

“On Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, a White House visitor with an arrest warrant was temporarily detained by U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division Officers,” a spokesperson for the Secret Service explained to the Washington Examiner. “It was subsequently determined that while the arrest warrant was still active, the agency that issued the warrant would not extradite, at which time the individual was released from Secret Service custody.” (Read more from “The Secret Service Arrested One of the El Paso Survivors That President Trump Invited to the White House” HERE)
