Emails Leaked Yesterday Directly Contradict Obama’s Repeated Claim that Solar Funding Had “Nothing To Do With Politics”

Yesterday, Restoring Liberty posted an interview between Obama and reporter Kyle Clark, where the President was asked a series of challenging questions — something he’s unaccustomed to from the press.

One of Mr. Clark’s questions involved the controversy over the multiple failed loans to “green” energy industries, such as solar. In response, Obama stated, “And these are decisions, by the way, that are made by the Department of Energy, they have nothing to do with politics.” This statement was consistent with what he and his administration have said before on the subject, that all green funding was based on merits, not political cronyism.

In a series of emails leaked to CompleteColorado.com yesterday, Obama’s claim that politics had “nothing to do” with green energy loans was directly contradicted:

In addition to the foregoing email showing that the White House was pushing to move Abound Solar forward – by applying pressure directly on the Department of Energy – an earlier email, also leaked to CompleteColorado.com, confirmed that the Department of Energy was operating under significant pressure to get the Abound Solar deal done:

Americans should be outraged over this latest White House deception. But, as much as the administration has been lying recently, who knows whether anyone will really even notice.

Video: Pro-Obama Ad – Children Blame Parents for Romney, Say He’ll Let the Sick Die, Try to Fix Gays

By Caroline May. A new video from the founders of a celebrated advertising agency features children “of the future” singing about the aftermath of a Mitt Romney presidency: A world where sick people are required to “just die,” the atmosphere is “frying,” gays can be “fixed” and “oil fills the sea.”

The children, who stare blankly at the camera throughout the video, even take pains to explicitly mention that they blame “mom and dad” for all those horrors.

The video — produced by the founders of the advertising agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners, which came up with the famous tagline “Got milk?” and boasts clients like Cheetos, Netflix, the National Basketball Association and Nintendo — asks viewers, “What Would The Children Of The Future Say If We Let Them Down This November?”

The two minute 21 second video concludes with black and white text instructing: “Don’t let it happen… vote.”

The brains behind the video are Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein, who in 1983 co-founded the San Francisco-based agency that would soon become Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

“The idea was to have kids from the future sing about a world that’s been defiled by us — by their parents,” Goodby told Co.Create, which reports that he is a registered “lapsed” Republican. “It was meant to be accusatory in some way. Something to put it in the context of some day this decision will be an even bigger one than it appears today.” Read more from this story HERE.

View the video and read the lyrics below. Note that over 90% of viewers “dislike” the ad:

Lyrics:
Imagine an America
Where strip mines are fun and free
Where gays can be fixed
And sick people just die
And oil fills the sea

We don’t have to pay for freeways!
Our schools are good enough
Give us endless wars
On foreign shores
And lots of Chinese stuff

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you

We haven’t killed all the polar bears
But it’s not for lack of trying
Big Bird is sacked
The Earth is cracked
And the atmosphere is frying

Congress went home early
They did their best we know
You can’t cut spending
With elections pending
Unless it’s welfare dough

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you

Find a park that is still open
And take a breath of poison air
They foreclosed your place
To build a weapon in space
But you can write off your au pair

It’s a little awkward to tell you
But you left us holding the bag
When we look around
The place is all dumbed down
And the long term’s kind of a drag

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And yeah, we’re blaming you

You did your best
You failed the test

Mom and Dad
We’re blaming you!

Video: Michelle Obama Fundraiser Crashed by Plane Flying Banner, “Remove Dictator Obama”

“This fundraiser with Michelle Obama was held at Irwin Jacobs’ house in La Jolla. Jacobs is the founder of Qualcomm. With net worth of about $1.5 billion, he is the 2nd wealthiest person in San Diego. He recently contributed over $2 million to a pro-Obama SuperPac and is the second largest contributor to Obama’s campaign.

The group of protesters was small. The message was primarily that Obama has never been properly vetted and is not fit to be in office for that reason and due to his illegal actions while in office. Some protesters, however, were there just to express support for Romney. A “Remove Dictator Obama” banner flew over the site for an hour.

There were 8-10 camera crews and protesters were interviewed by several different media outlets.”

Alaska Family Action’s Response to ADN Column that Compared AFA to Communism, Sharia Law

Shannyn Moore recently wrote an inflammatory piece [in the Anchorage Daily News], comparing Communism and Sharia Law advocates with Alaska Family Action. We are deeply offended, and hope that anyone who does not advocate for the mass killing of millions of innocent victims (as occurred last century in Communist countries), or the televised beheading of “infidels” this century, is equally offended by her claim. The difference between such groups and Christians who wish to speak about public policy is not simply a subtle nuance, and should be detectable by Shannyn.

Alaska Family Action does indeed endeavor to promote Judeo-Christian values, which historically involves reaching out to those who are most vulnerable and in need (whether yet unborn /newborn, or struggling to raise a family.) We are thankful that we are still able to do so, including fundraising to get our message out in the public square, despite the best efforts of some to oppress and silence that perspective.

A word about our motivations is appropriate. Since ancient Rome, Christians demonstrated respect for life by pulling discarded babies from the Tiber River and trash heaps outside the city gates; in the 1600s Christians established the first hospitals. Helping the vulnerable is an essential part of who we are, and for Christians, these actions are rooted in our Scriptures.

Let us take just one example: Abortion. AFA advocates against elective abortion because we believe the unborn child is a person. If we are right, then killing the child is dreadfully wrong, with at least two differences from killing an adult. First, we know that at certain stages of development, the unborn child can not only feel pain, but does not yet possess the capability known as “going into shock” to partially block excruciating pain before death. Second, when the child is dismembered in-utero without benefit of anesthesia, no one hears her as she screams.

Our revulsion at this practice leads us to ask voters to oppose Senator Hollis French and the bipartisan coalition. We obviously disagree with Senator French on partial birth abortion, the need to protect minor children from predators, the right of parents to be involved in their daughter’s abortion decision, and forcing the public to fund abortions. However, we’re deeply troubled that he would use his position as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee to prevent a hearing or vote on bills passed by the House on these issues. We believe that is an abuse of power, and an affront to democracy.

Indeed, AFA does seek a voice in the public arena. Issues of life and proper respect for traditional marriage have moved there and we will move with them. We are grateful that Governor Parnell spoke at our fundraiser. There is plenty of precedent in American history for political leaders to speak out on moral issues, going all the way back to George Washington. There is also plenty of precedent for churches and the religious to be deeply involved in issues of public concern – from the cause of Independence through the call to Abolition; from calls to arms to calls for peace; from civil rights for blacks to civil rights the unborn.

Does she find laws against murder objectionable because they are rooted in a Biblical commandment “Thou Shalt Not Kill”? Do followers of Christ lose their right to speak in the public square, or lose the right to raise funds to communicate their point of view, because their view is informed by their faith? Alaska Family Action uses funds to advocate for candidates, as permitted under the law. Instead of demonizing Jim Minnery and AFA, rather than seriously engage on issues that confront our families, we suggest an authentic dialogue.

Perhaps people of faith will eventually lose their right to raise funds and speak out on issues of public policy. However, given what is at stake, many of us who are followers of Christ will follow the example of generations of believers and continue to speak out for the vulnerable. We will do so to our last breath. We can do nothing less.

Extraordinary Humanoid Military Robot Can Climb Stairs, Operate in any Terrain

For anyone who was relying on being able to escape from a robot simply by climbing stairs, it could be a bone chilling sight.

[US researchers] have revealed astonishing footage of a human-like robot able to walk, jump and run over almost any obstacle in its path.

Eventually it is hoped the technology could be used to create a new breed of robotic soldiers able to operate in any terrain, and robots capable of being sent into dangerous disaster zones deemed impossible for humans to enter.

The amazing robot, called proto-pet, is expected to be one of those competing in the DARPA Robotics Challenge (DRC) which was announced today.

The US military funded challenge is for robots who can operate entirely by themselves. Read more from this story HERE.

G-R-A-C-E: The Healthiest Quins Ever Born Come Home (+video)

The first letter of each baby’s name, G-R-A-C-E [Gabby, Riley, Addison, Cooper, and Emerson], spells out a word with deep meaning to the Ferraro’s, who are of profound faith: “Just to communicate that we want them to be full of grace,” John Ferraro said of the naming process. “We also like the song, ‘Amazing Grace.'”

Add in big sister Gianna, who is 2, and you have “Grace Plus One,” which is the name of the family’s website: graceplusone.com.

The quintuplets were born Sept. 26 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. The Ferraros lived in a nearby apartment until the babies – three boys and two girls – were strong enough to take home to Fullerton.

“We’re excited to be home,” Meryl Ferraro said. “This is the first step to help us feel organized.”

The couple had lived in Torrance but thought it best to relocate to Fullerton to be close to their family and spiritual base. The Ferraros attend First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton. John Ferraro was born and raised in the city. Friends from church plan to help with feedings, and all four grandparents likely will be spending lots of time with their new grandchildren. Billy Graham Says His Heart Aches for ‘Deceived’ America

The Rev. Billy Graham has posted a new prayer letter on his website where he addresses the people of the nation and tells them he is very much afraid of the damage that the American lifestyle is doing in the eyes of the Lord.

The 93-year-old evangelist begins his letter by recalling an incident a few years ago when his wife, Ruth, who has since passed away, remarked that “If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah,” referring to the cities in the Old Testament destroyed for the sinful nature of their residents.

“I wonder what Ruth would think of America if she were alive today. In the years since she made that remark, millions of babies have been aborted and our nation seems largely unconcerned. Self-centered indulgence, pride, and a lack of shame over sin are now emblems of the American lifestyle,” Graham remarks.

The pastor then goes on to refer to several other incidents in recent times where he sees the American government and American society as a whole coming down on Christians – including instances where chaplains who serve the police department have been told to no longer say the name of Jesus during prayer.

“Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone – except God,” Graham says. “Yet the farther we get from God, the more the world spirals out of control.”

Video: New Political Ad Hammers Obama’s “Optimal” Comment

In this political ad by American Future Fund, Obama’s “optimal” comment, in reference to the four Americans killed in Benghazi, is compared to what other presidents have said about the death of Americans.

This follows the outrage of Mrs. Pat Smith, whose son died in Benghazi, expressed to Mail Online Today.

She stated, ‘It’s insensitive to say my son is not very optimal – he is also very dead. I’ve not been “optimal” since he died and the past few weeks have been pure hell. ‘I am still waiting for the truth to come out and I still want to know the truth.’

Israel: Egypt Getting Much More Radical & Obama Doesn’t Care

The new tone coming out of Egypt – punctuated by President Mohammed Morsi mouthing “Amen” to an Imam’s call for the destruction of Israel – is rattling residents of the Jewish state, who claim the Obama administration isn’t taking the ratcheted-up rhetoric seriously.

Lip reading by the Anti Defamation League and the Middle East Media Research Institute confirmed Morsi’s approval of a prayer delivered by influential Imam Futouh Abd Al-Nabi Mansour last Friday, in which he stated, “Oh Allah … grant us victory over the infidels. Oh Allah, destroy the Jews and their supporters.” Israelis already nervous by the rise of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood say it is the latest example of a disturbing trend.

“There is no question that the rise to power of the Muslim Brotherhood has prompted open expressions of anti-Semitism in ways that were never publicly expressed during the Mubarak period,” Efraim Zuroff of the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Israel office told Fox News.com. “The Obama administration is treating this far less seriously than it should be.”

The rise to power this summer of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood prompted fears that the anti-Israeli, and anti-Semitic party, would be set on a collision course with its near neighbor, jeopardizing the peace treaty which has held firm between the previously warring nations since 1979. But while the rhetoric has been heated, the new Egyptian leader has also proven to be more pragmatic than some expected, thus far placing the national interest ahead of his own and his party’s religious ideology.

The party that propelled Morsi to power, however, has made no secret of its contempt for Judaism and Christianity. When Mohammed Badie in 2010 became leader of the Muslim Brotherhood – and consequently President Morsi’s spiritual guide – he stepped up his attacks on Israel even while Hosni Mubarak still held an iron grip on power in Egypt.

Exxon Gets Key Permit for Alaska’s Point Thomson Field

Exxon Mobil Corp on Friday received a major federal permit it needed to start construction on the Point Thomson oil and gas field on the eastern North Slope of Alaska, officials said, after an extended delay that threatened some leases there.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers granted Exxon a wetlands-fill permit for construction of drill pads, roads, an airstrip, pipeline, and docking and other facilities needed for production at the long-languishing field – production the state of Alaska has accused the company of dragging its heels on.

The Army Corps permit followed a detailed environmental impact study that began in 2009. While there remain a few outstanding state permits, the wetlands-fill authorization was the major approval needed for construction, said Mike Holley, northern branch team leader for the state’s Army Corps district.

Holley said Exxon, backed by partners BP Plc and ConocoPhillips, hopes to begin construction soon.

“They are planning on doing as much of the construction this winter as possible,” he said, adding that ice roads, which are built by spraying water on the tundra, would accommodate that.
