NBA Commissioner Stern: Obama “Is Not As Good As He Thinks He is” (+video)

Robert Wolf, a financier and a personal friend of President Obama, serves on the President’s Council for Jobs and Competitiveness and interviewed [NBA Commissioner David] Stern for a Reuters TV segment, Impact Players. In the interview, Wolf heaps praise on the Democrat for his enthusiasm and rated Obama as an impressive player.

‘He’s a hoop junkie, I’ve played with him. I’ve seen NBA players play with him. There’s a lot of NBA players that support him,’ Wolf said.

But Stern proved he was no sycophant, interrupting the starry-eyed host by stating bluntly, ‘He’s not that good.’

Wolf couldn’t stand the criticism, ‘He’s pretty good, he’s got a nice little crossover,’ he insisted.

Stern continued to dismiss the complimentary appraisal of the president’s game, ‘He’s a lefty and goes the same way every time,’ he said. ‘I’m a loyal Democrat okay, a passionate Democrat. He’s not as good as he thinks he is,’ Stern added, showing that when it comes to basketball, political persuasion doesn’t count for much. Read more from this story HERE.

Judge Sends Naked Picture of Himself to Married Subordinate, Keeps Job (+video)

Third Circuit Court Judge Wade McCree sent a naked picture of himself to a female court bailiff. Apparently she didn’t mind, but her husband did, so he gave it to us and we gave it to you and now the Michigan Supreme Court has given it back to Judge McCree, publicly censuring him Wednesday for judicial misconduct.

“It’s very rare for a judge to get a slap on the wrist like this unless the judge did something really bad on the bench. So for the Supreme Court to look at this, to review this, and for the judge to agree with it, it’s pretty bad,” said FOX 2 legal analyst Charlie Langton.

“A judge has to set the example for others to follow. I mean, judges are held to a higher standard. There’s integrity in the system of being a judge and this guy didn’t do it.”

Fox 2 News Headlines

Judge McCree wouldn’t come out of his chambers for an interview, but here are a few of the court’s findings. During an interview with yours truly, McCree “conducted himself in a flippant manner and did not give the interview the seriousness he should have. As a result, he brought shame and obloquy to the judiciary. For example, when discussing the digital image of himself, he said, ‘There is no shame in my game.'”

The Supreme Court also found that the interview and the digital image spread rapidly around the internet and became the subject of jokes and ridicule.

Video: Romney’s Support Among Independents Skyrocketing

In a Washington Post-ABC News Poll, Republican Party Presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s support among independents is skyrocketing from just a three point margin to nineteen points in just four days.

Currently, independent voters support Romney by 57% to President Barrack Obama’s 38%.

If this spread sticks – or grows – it could be sharpest independent voter shift since President Ronald Reagan’s 1984 49-state landslide in his second-term election.

Additionally, national polling among all likely voters is showing Romney leading, although some electoral projections still predict an Obama win:

Rasmussen: Mitt Romney 50% nationwide, Obama 47%.

Gallup: Romney 50%, Obama 47%.

ABC News/Washington Post: 49% Romney, 48% Obama.

Reuters/Ipsos: Romney 47%, Obama 46%.

AP-GfK: Romney 47%, Obama 45%.

Here’s the video breakdown of the independent voter shift:

A Future Where We’ll Actually Be Able to Download Memories From Our Brains

It sounds like the stuff of science-fiction and geek ideology, but the ability to download memories may be a full blown reality for the future generations of planet Earth. Science (well, Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, and Optogenetics to be exact) is getting closer and closer to creating a solution for this fascinating prospect.

Just imagine being able to download memories from a favorite holiday or event in your life. You’d be able to store these memories forever and then simply upload them again when you want to reminisce. You’d be able to remember your favorite gig like it was today, not yesterday. It’s pretty awesome stuff, but is it really feasible?

[O]ne genius from MIT named Ed Boyden is developing ways of using light to decode brain patterns and control the activity of neurons. This is the deeply complex world of Optogenetics. Through scouring nature’s wonders, he’s found proteins that convert light into electricity. He can then insert these proteins into neurons via a harmless virus that most of you reading this probably already have. When he flashes light on these neurons, their electrical signalling pathways activate. Ed can then go on to map out these pathways with the help of specially designed computer software. He’s already used this approach to cure analogs of PTSD in mice, and hopes to develop ‘Neuroprosthetics’ in the future, which could help restore neurons to full functionality in conditions such as Alzheimer’s, where neural functionality is lost.

American Psychiatry in Shambles: Two More Children Killed

Thursday night, Marina Krim, a mother on the Upper West Side of Manhattan opened the door to her apartment to find her two children dead. They had been stabbed to death allegedly by their nanny Yoselyn Ortega, who then slit her wrists in an apparent failed suicide attempt.

This horrific act of violence, like so many seemingly inexplicable ones, will likely turn out to have roots in unrecognized and, perhaps, untreated mental illness. While the Krim children did not die in a movie theatre showing of Batman at the hands of a man dressed like the Joker, they died at the hands of someone who must have been battling demons no less dark and no less commanding.

If we learn the truth about Yoselyn Ortega, it is possible we may learn that she could have been showing signs of a mental disorder and sharing them—either with a clinician or with others around her, in the days or weeks before this tragedy.

I have said this before, but will keep saying it on every occasion it fits: The mental health care system in America is in shambles. It barely even exists. That’s how bad it is. It leaves very, very ill people under-treated and many not treated at all. The system makes almost no attempt to educate the public about signs and symptoms of the most severe psychiatric conditions, as though such conditions still embarrass us or still define those suffering them as weak or depraved.

Benghazi Bombing Requests Denied, CIA Security Officers Ordered Twice Not to Defend Consulate (+video)

By the Associated Press. Fox News reported that security officers working for the CIA in Benghazi heard the attack on the consulate but were twice told to wait before rushing to the compound. Fox also reported that U.S. officials refused when the security team asked for U.S. warplanes to bomb their attackers, which would have meant violating Libyan airspace.

In response to the report, CIA spokeswoman Jennifer Youngblood said the CIA “reacted quickly to aid our colleagues during that terrible evening in Benghazi.”

She added: “Moreover, no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.”

President Barack Obama said repeatedly Friday that his administration would “find out what happened” and punish those responsible, but he twice ducked questions about whether U.S. officials denied requests for help.

“We’re going to gather all the facts, find out exactly what happened, and make sure that it doesn’t happen again, but we’re also going to make sure we bring to justice those who carried out these attacks,” Obama said in an interview with Denver television station KUSA. Fallen SEAL’s Father: Obama “Had No Remorse, Wouldn’t Look Me in the Eye,” Biden Asked if My Son “Always Had Balls the Size of Cue Balls” (+video)

The father of one of the former Navy SEALs killed in the terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya says President Barack Obama wouldn’t even look him in the eye and Vice President Joe Biden was disrespectful during the ceremony when his son’s body returned to America. He also says the White House’s story on the attack doesn’t pass the smell test.

Charles Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, called into “The Glenn Beck Program” on TheBlazeTV Thursday and recounted his interactions with the president, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Biden at the ceremony for the Libya victims at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. He told host Glenn Beck that what they told him, coupled with new reports that indicate the Obama administration knew very good and well, almost immediately, that a terrorist attack was occurring in Benghazi, make him certain that the American people are not getting the whole truth.

Vice President Biden, as he has become known to do, reportedly made a wildly inappropriate comment to the father who had just lost his hero son.

Woods said Biden came over to his family and asked in a “loud and boisterous” voice, “Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?”

“Are these the words of someone who is sorry?” said Woods. Read more from this story HERE.

Video: Pathetic Ted Turner Says It’s a “Good” Thing That US Troops Are Committing Suicide

CNN Founder Ted Turner was on Piers Morgan when he made a shocking and despicable statement regarding the record number of suicides among US soldiers.

Piers Morgan observed that suicides in uniform have actually surpassed combat deaths. Turner said that he thought that was good. The failure of Piers Morgan to condemn Turner’s reaction was equally inexcusable.

The globalist, who gave $1 billion to the United Nations several years ago, then advocated for the use of the UN as the world’s policeman.

Video: Lena Dunham’s Disgusting Obama Ad, Suggesting Voting for Obama is Like a Virgin’s First Sexual Experience

If you’ve thought that the Obama Campaign couldn’t go any lower, think again. This time, the Campaign has enrolled Lena Dunham of HBO’s adult-themed “Girl’s” series to produce a sexually-charged ad, suggesting that voting for Obama is like a virgin’s first sexual experience.

Here’s the transcript of the ad:

Your first time shouldn’t be with just anybody. You want to do it with a great guy. It should be with a guy with beautiful … somebody who really cares about and understands women.

A guy who cares about whether you get health insurance, and specifically whether you get birth control. The consequences are huge. You want to do it with a guy who brought the troops out of Iraq. You don’t want a guy who says, “Oh hey, I’m at the library studying,” when he’s really out not signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act.

Or who thinks that gay people should never have beautiful, complicated weddings of the kind we see on Bravo or TLC all the time. It’s a fun game to say, “Who are you voting for?” and they say “I don’t want to tell you,” and you say, “No, who are you voting for,” and they go, “Guess!”

Think about how you want to spend those four years. In college age time, that’s 150 years. Also, it’s super uncool to be out and about and someone says, “Did you vote,” and “No, I didn’t vote, I wasn’t ready.” My first time voting was amazing. It was this line in the sand. Before I was a girl. Now I was a woman. I went to the polling station and pulled back the curtain. I voted for Barack Obama.

If you can bear to watch it, here’s the Obama ad:

IRS Audits of Small Businesses Soar Under Obama

President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney continue to tussle over tax rates and deductions. Ignored, however, have been questions about tax collection and enforcement—tools presidents use to achieve their economic policy goals. Hit a wall ramming your tax hike or cut through Congress, simply increase or decrease tax enforcement and audits.

Under the Obama Administration, the Internal Revenue Service has placed small and medium-size businesses—the engines of job creation—in its auditing crosshairs.

According to IRS statistics, from 2009 to 2011, the coverage rate (number of audits as a percentage of total returns filed) for corporations with assets between $10 million and $50 million has increased 32 percent. The coverage rate for corporations with assets between $50 million and $100 million has increased at the same rate. Some businesspeople file individual returns, and those with incomes higher than $1 million have experience a 94 percent increase in their coverage rate, and a 29 percent increase in the actual number of exams since 2009. Those with incomes $200,000 and higher have seen a 36 percent increase in their coverage rate.

So, has ratcheting up audits on small and medium-size businesses produced more revenue bang for the IRS’s buck? Hardly.

Using 2011 IRS data, the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University found that audits of a company with assets between $10 and $50 million yielded $702 in recommended additional taxes per hour. For large corporations with assets of $250 million or more, the recommended additional taxes are $9,173 per hour. Yet while the coverage rates of companies with assets between $10 to $50 million are up 32 percent, rates for companies with assets of $250 million or higher are up just 7.4 percent.
