Union Workers Protest Obama's EPA Regs: 'Don’t Even Mention His Name'

Photo Credit: APThe United Mine Workers of America held a rally Tuesday in Washington, D.C., to protest Environmental Protection Agency regulations that they claim would destroy the nation’s coal industry and coal-related jobs while doing nothing to address climate change.

On Tuesday, current and retired workers convened at Freedom Plaza, then marched to EPA offices to protest EPA’s proposed Clean Power Plan, part of President Obama’s larger climate-change agenda, which aims to cut carbon pollution by imposing state-by-state emissions standards and fines for failure to meet those standards.

CNSNews.com asked protesters, “If you could tell President Obama anything about these regulations today, what would you say?”

“Don’t even mention his name,” one protester said. “He’s the one stirring up a lot of the problems we’re having now with these coal-fired plants.”

“I wish [Obama] could walk a day in our shoes, let him come down to the mines and talk to us but I wish he could get down on our level and see what it’s doing to the coal industry, cause it’s sure – he and the EPA industry are sure ruining it,” said another protester.

Couple Welcomes Terminal 'Bucket List' Baby, Then Says Goodbye

The Pennsylvania couple that carried out a heartbreaking bucket list for an unborn baby with a terminal condition announced the birth of the boy today, and his death a few hours later.

“Today at 6:15 a.m., after meeting his entire family and being baptized into the Catholic faith, baby Shane died peacefully in his Mother’s arms,” Jenna and Dan Haley of Philadelphia wrote in a Facebook message. “We are so grateful for the time that we were blessed to hold and hug our son.”

Shane was diagnosed with anencephaly, a brain defect in which a baby is born without parts of its brain and skull and isn’t expected to survive. Almost all babies die shortly after birth, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The couple told ABC News in an earlier interview they learned of the condition in April and decided they wanted to make the most of Shane’s life by creating a bucket list they would tackle while Jenna Haley was pregnant.

Mysterious Blast at Iran Nuke Plant Proves Weapons Program Alive, Say Experts

Photo Credit: IsraelDefense.comThe massive blast at an Iranian nuclear plant earlier this week remains shrouded in mystery, but it cleared up one thing, according to those who track the Islamic Republic: The nuclear weapons program Tehran has long denied is real.

The massive blast Sunday night rocked buildings more than 10 miles away, and before-and-after satellite images published by the Israel Defense Force showed startling destruction at a facility Iran has repeatedly barred international inspectors from entering.

“[The] images indicate that a complete section of structures was simply eliminated by an unexplained explosion,” IDF analyst Ronen Solomon said. “The explosion wiped several testing units off the face of the earth while inflicting collateral damage on adjacent buildings.”

Iran, which initially denied an explosion took place, was forced a day later to own up to a blast, via the IRNA official Iranian news agency. The report said two people had been killed as a result of a fire at the site. The true casualty figure may never be known.

Israel has long insisted that Iran’s charm offensive, successful in easing western sanctions, is a ruse to buy time while it pursues nuclear weapons.

California: Christians Must Pay for Abortions

Photo Credit: WNDCalifornia has changed its state health insurance rules to require that churches pay for elective abortions, drawing protest from some of the largest pro-life legal teams in the nation and a formal complaint.

“Forcing a church to be party to elective abortion is one of the utmost-imaginable assaults on our most fundamental American freedoms,” said Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Casey Mattox.

Mattox said California “is flagrantly violating the federal law that protects employers from being forced into having abortion in their health insurance plans.”

“No state can blatantly ignore federal law and think that it should continue to receive taxpayer money,” he said.

The case is just the latest in recent months against aggressive federal and state government efforts to force religious individuals and organizations to fund abortion, including through Obamacare.

WATCH: Hey ISIS, I'm an American With a Remington

…Last week, in Joplin, Missouri, Billy, my brothers Steve and Rudy and I, along with our buddies T.G. Sheppard and Leroy Van Dyke did a benefit for the tornado victims of Joplin.

Backstage Billy said, “Hey L.G., I have a song idea I want you to help me write.” When he sang the “hook line” I said, “I’m in. Let’s do it.”

So, last Tuesday night, at the Starlight Theatre in Branson, in the dressing room that Billy and I share, we sat down with our two guitars, our two hearts, our two God given talents, and our singular love for America, and poured our two hearts out in a song, “An American with a Remington.”

The response has been unbelievable — more than 15 million hits and thousands of “hurrahs” from like-minded Americans — in only five days.

Please know that neither Billy nor I are trigger happy cowboys lookin’ for a fight. We just know that the fight is looking for us and for all Americans.

Chinese Gov't Gives Tips on Ensuring Babies are Dead

Photo Credit: LifeNews Reggie Littlejohn positively glows, perhaps with the radiance of someone whose life has purpose and fulfillment.

The woman with the boy’s name is on a mission to save the girls of China.

As she sat down at the Heritage Foundation on Thursday, WND asked what was the most shocking thing she had encountered in her journey as the world’s leading opponent of forced abortions and sterilizations.

That was easy.

“Best practices – infanticide,” she replied without hesitation.

She described her horror while reading an email train on the official website of the Chinese Communist Party for obstetricians and gynecologists, discussing how best to kill infants born alive during late-term abortions.

Aides Knew of Possible White House Link to Cartagena, Colombia, Prostitution Scandal

Photo Credit: Saul Loeb / Getty As nearly two dozen Secret Service agents and members of the military were punished or fired following a 2012 prostitution scandal in Colombia, Obama administration officials repeatedly denied that anyone from the White House was involved.

But new details drawn from government documents and interviews show that senior White House aides were given information at the time suggesting that a prostitute was an overnight guest in the hotel room of a presidential advance-team member — yet that information was never thoroughly investigated or publicly acknowledged.

The information that the Secret Service shared with the White House included hotel records and firsthand accounts — the same types of evidence the agency and military relied on to determine who in their ranks was involved.

The Secret Service shared its findings twice in the weeks after the scandal with top White House officials, including then-White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler. Each time, she and other presidential aides conducted an interview with the advance-team member and concluded that he had done nothing wrong.

Meanwhile, the new details also show that a separate set of investigators in the inspector general’s office of the Department of Homeland Security — tasked by a Senate committee with digging more deeply into misconduct on the trip — found additional evidence from records and eyewitnesses who had accompanied the team member in Colombia.

Spanish Ebola Nurse Teresa Romero Ramos 'Followed All Protocols' and Has 'No Idea' How She Contracted Deadly Virus

The Spanish nurse who became the first person to contract Ebola in Europe has said she followed all protocols and does not know how she became infected with the virus.

Teresa Romero Ramos, who helped treat two Spanish missionaries who died after returning from Africa with Ebola, tested positive for the disease on Monday.

In a brief interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo, the nurse was asked how she may have fallen ill, to which she replied: “I really can’t say, I haven’t the slightest idea.”

Asked whether she followed the safety protocol, Mrs Romero Ramos said: “Yes, I did.”

Dozens of doctors and nurses yesterday demonstrated outside La Paz Hospital, in Madrid, demanding more information about how Mrs Romero Ramos caught Ebola.

Photo Credit: Enterprise News And PicturesSpanish nurse reported Ebola symptoms many times before being quarantined

By Ashifa Kassam.

A Spanish nurse who was admitted to hospital in Madrid with the Ebola virus, after treating a repatriated patient who later died of the illness, had told health authorities at least three times that she had a fever before she was placed in quarantine.

Teresa Romero Ramos is the first person in the current outbreak to have caught the virus outside of west Africa.

Her first contact with health authorities was on 30 September when she complained of a slight fever and fatigue. Romero Ramos called a specialised service dedicated to occupational risk at the Carlos III hospital where she worked and had treated an Ebola patient, said Antonio Alemany from the regional government of Madrid. But as the nurse’s fever had not reached 38.6C, she was advised to visit her local clinic where she was reportedly prescribed paracetamol.

Days later, according to El País newspaper, Romero Ramos called the hospital again to complain about her fever. No action was taken.

On Monday, she called the Carlos III hospital again, this time saying she felt terrible. Rather than transport her to the hospital that had treated the two missionaries who had been repatriated with Ebola, Romero Ramos was instructed to call emergency services and head to the hospital closest to her home. She was transported to the Alcorcón hospital by paramedics who were not wearing protective gear, El País reported.
