Dear Brittany: Why We Don’t Have To Be So Afraid of Dying and Suffering that We Choose Suicide

Photo Credit: CNNYou may have read the poignant and powerful, CNN front-page story of cancer patient Brittany Maynard, 29, who has scheduled her death for Nov. 1? Come November 1, Maynard plans to take a pill given to her by her doctors as she wants to choose her own death and avoid hospice and the suffering her brain-tumor cancer may entail — Her story-gone-viral speaks of her plan to swallow the pill and choose death on her own terms in her own bedroom with her husband beside her and her favorite music playing in the background. Her story is raw — and she has all our love and prayers…. Before she dies by assisted suicide, Brittany states that she wants to use the rest of her time on earth to lobby for every American to have access to assisted suicide services.

After I read Brittany’s story yesterday… my friend Kara Tippetts dropped an email into my inbox — Kara was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36. She has 4 young children. She continues to battle that cancer two years later as it has crossed the blood/brain barrier and has metastasized into her entire body. I’ve been reading Kara’s journey since the beginning, profoundly moved by this woman’s courage to embrace all of her life as it comes to her… Kara’s exceptional book released this week, The Hardest Peace: Expecting Grace in the Midst of Life’s Hard — and Kara humbly speaks important words into this current news story and national debate about assisted suicide with a tender weight & compassionate gravity that only someone, a mother, a wife, a daughter, bravely facing terminal cancer can — we earnestly love and pray for both women as they each share own their stories:

Dear Brittany Maynard,

This morning my best friend and I read your story.

My heart ached for you, and I’m simply grieved by your terminal brain tumor, for the less than 6 months the doctor’s gave you, you just past your 29th birthday.

With a heavy heart, I left my home and headed for my oncologist. I too am dying, Brittany.

Liberals: Fine, Obamacare is Forcing People Off of Their Plans, and That's Great News

Photo Credit: TownHallPresident Obama and some of his most ardent media acolytes are insistent. No matter what you may have heard, Obamacare ‘is working’ in the ‘real world.’ That’s the new mantra. Learn it, love it, etc. The Lean Forward network, unsurprisingly, has served as the vanguard of this propaganda push. Their working theory seems to be that if you repeat an assertion often enough to the same tiny audience, you can wish-cast your dreams into reality:

The American people disagree, based on their own personal experiences with the law — via Gallup:

Whippings, Forced Marriages, and Beheadings: Inside ISIS's 'Morality Police'

A Syrian woman who joined the ISIS morality police and patrolled the streets enforcing strict Islamic State female dress codes has spoken of her experiences after finding the country too much to handle, having witnessed crucifixions and beheadings and being forced into an arranged marriage.

The 25 year-old woman, who has only been identified by pseudonym ‘Khadija’ has spoken to CNN while dressed in a full veiled niqab to hide her face has told the network about life in Raqqa. As a member of the al-Khansaa brigade she was charged with enforcing the morality of the Islamic regime, and patrolled the streets while heavily armed to ensure compliance.

Speaking of the punishment for dissent, she said: “We’d patrol the streets. If we saw a woman who was not wearing the correct sharia clothing, we would grab her. Sometimes, they would be lashed”.

Describing the first time she met the senior figure within the al-Khansaa morality police tasked with carrying out the physical punishments, ‘Khadija’ said: “she’s female, but she’s not a normal female. She’s huge. She has an AK-47, a pistol, a whip, a dagger. And she wears the niqab”.

Karl Rove Is Ruining the GOP

Photo Credit: Politico Karl Rove recently tried to advise Republicans on how the party can more effectively take back the Senate in November. He made two main suggestions.

One was that Republican candidates must “make the case for electing someone new who will be a check and balance in the Senate on Mr. Obama and his agenda, rather than returning a Democratic loyalist who toes his line.” Rove’s second suggestion was that the party should “offer a positive, optimistic conservative agenda to make independents who disapprove of Mr. Obama comfortable voting Republican.”

Rove is right on both counts, especially about offering a positive and optimistic conservative agenda.

But there’s one big problem. This advice is coming from Karl Rove.

Rove has never cared about conservatism and has spent his entire career opposing any Republican who might be successful in promoting or implementing a conservative agenda.

Justice Kennedy Blocks Gay Marriage Ruling in Idaho, Nevada

Photo Credit: Chip Somodevilla / Getty Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy on Wednesday temporarily blocked an appeals court ruling that declared gay marriage legal in Idaho and Nevada.

Kennedy’s order came a little more than an hour after Idaho filed an emergency request for an immediate stay and about 10 minutes before the state said that state and county officials would otherwise have been required to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

The order also applies to Nevada, where marriage licenses to same-sex couples were going to start to be issued later Wednesday.

The delay could last just a few days. Kennedy’s order requested a response from the plaintiffs involved in Idaho’s gay marriage lawsuit by the end of day Thursday.

Pope Francis: The Devil Works to Divide Christians

Photo Credit: APDivisions among Christians “hurt the Church and they wound Christ,” Pope Francis said to tens of thousands of visitors gathered in Saint Peter’s Square Wednesday morning.

During her journey through history, “the Church is tempted by the devil who tries to divide it,” the Pope said, and unfortunately, “she has been marred by serious and painful divisions.”

Francis devoted his “general audience” to the issue of the unity of Christians, urging his listeners to take an active part in healing the wounds that still separate them.

We must not forget, he said that “there are many brothers and sisters who share our faith in Christ, but who belong to other denominations or traditions different from our own.” He challenged his hearers not to accept these painful divisions, which in the course of history have “often been a cause of conflict and suffering, even wars.”

“Are we resigned, or even indifferent to this division? Or do we firmly believe that we can and must walk in the direction of reconciliation and full communion?” he asked.

Selbyville Mother Arrested After Child Brings Heroin to Daycare (+video)

Photo Credit: Delaware State PoliceDelaware State Police say troopers arrested a Selbyville woman after her 4-year-old daughter brought more than 200 bags of heroin into a daycare and began passing it out to other children.

Troopers said it happened shortly before noon Monday at Hickory Tree Child Care Center, located on Community Lane in Selbyville. Police said daycare providers noticed the problem after seeing some children with small bags containing an unknown white powdery substance. The substance, which was still in the bags, was removed by the teachers and taken to the Selbyville Police Department where it was determined to be heroin.

Delaware State Police said a preliminary investigation revealed the child thought the packets were candy and gave them to her classmates. Hickory Tree Assistant Director Tamicka Goodman said employees found several children holding the packets immediately after they had been passed out by the 4-year-old.

“They found it right when she passed it out,” Goodman said. “So we do thank God that they had a watchful eye and most of all we thank God that none of the children were injured.”

Football Player Gets Right With God, Makes History for Baylor

Photo Credit: LM Otero/APHe’s a Heisman Trophy candidate who led Baylor to its first conference title since 1980. Still, the moment that shaped Bryce Petty’s college career didn’t occur on a football field.

It happened in a backyard swimming pool.

Only three people were present the day Petty was baptized in the summer of 2012. Chris Wommack, an ordained minister in Waco, dunked the quarterback under the water while Wommack’s wife, Susan, stood near the edge and captured the occasion on camera.

Wommack had asked Petty—whom he’d mentored the previous seven months—if he wanted to invite friends and family to witness the occasion. He declined.

“Bryce wanted the moment to be very private between him and God,” Wommack said. “It was the moment when he said, ‘God, my life is yours.'”

Embattled House Democrats Turn Against Nancy Pelosi

Photo Credit: Win McNamee / GettyHouse Republicans have surprising new company in attacking Nancy Pelosi: her fellow House Democrats.

Three Democrats running in GOP-leaning House districts have used late-stage television ads in a bid to distance themselves from the liberal leader of Democrats’ House caucus—the same caucus they’re fighting to join in 2015.

“Here’s what I believe: Congress is broken,” says Gwen Graham, one of the Democratic Party’s top recruits, in a recent TV ad as a photo of Pelosi and House Speaker John Boehner flashes on the screen. “Both parties—Republican and Democrat—are to blame. And both need new leaders in Washington.”

In Georgia, Rep. John Barrow, one of five Democrats to vote against Pelosi as party leader at the start of the 113th Congress in 2013, uses that fact as one of the key reasons to reelect him. “I voted against Nancy Pelosi as speaker,” Barrow brags to Georgians in a recent television ad.

Child Molester Stephen Collins, No Different Than Muhammad (A Comparison)

Instead of seventh Heaven, it appears that Mr. Collins will become well-acquainted with the nine circles of hell. Luckily for Collins, he’ll be greeted with open arms by Islam’s own Muhammad (pedophilia be upon him). After all, the holiest of prophets did it first.

The similarities of their actions are uncanny.

Exhibit A1) Muhammad married Aisha when she was six, and consummated when she was nine (according to the Islamically revered Sahih Al-Bukhari hadith)

Exhibit A2) Stephen Collins admits ON the audio heard above, that his victim(s) was ten years old.

Exhibit B1) Muhammad (sexual assault be upon him) was by virtually all historical accounts, in his fifties when he mounted poor Aisha.

Exhibit B2) Collins is sixty seven.

Ehibit C1) Muhammad’s victim, Aisha, didn’t have much of a choice in the matter as she was married off at the mere age of six.

Exhibit C2) Collins’ victims didn’t seem too thrilled about it either.

In Collins’ defense, he only (allegedly) forced his ten year old victim into heavy petting, as opposed to Muhammad’s (pedophilia be upon him) full-on mattress bending consummation. So perhaps the oh-so-tolerant leftists who believe Islam/Muhammad to be peaceful can forgive Reverend Campton’s transgressions, since they still don’t quite approach the depravity of the crimes committed by Muhammad (sexual felonies be upon him).

So when Hollywood lefties (the same ones whose industry bred a Mr. Stephen Collins) try to convince you that Muhammad (sexism be upon him) was a noble, peaceful man, remember this story.

Because at the end of the day, Muhammad (child-rape be upon him) was no better than admitted pedophile, child-molester, Stephen Collins.
