Photo Credit: PCSOA bank robber in Pinellas County learned the hard way that crime never pays, when his attempted robbery was foiled by a local MMA instructor and business owner.

Eric Haritakis, nicknamed the ‘Ginja Ninja’ by friends for his red hair and swift moves, was at the Grow Financial Federal Credit Union on Friday to make a deposit for his health food delivery company, Zen Body Foods, when a man robbed one of the tellers. . .

Surveillance video from a neighboring UPS Store showed Haritakis sprinting after the suspect. Haritakis chased the man, later identified as 31-year-old Michael Jon Neubecker, around the side of the building.

“I don’t really know what I was thinking at that time. I just kind of went for it. I figured if he had a weapon, he probably would have pulled it out at that point,” Haritakis continued. . .

“I see the guy bringing a guy back with his hands behind his back and almost carrying him,” said Kristin Drexler, an employee at UPS. “I was just amazed at how down-to-earth [Haritakis] was. Heroic K-9 Saves Officer From Brutal Roadside Ambush

A manhunt is under way after a Hancock County [Mississippi] Sheriff’s Department deputy was saved by his dog from an ambush attack by three men.

The deputy, Todd Frazier, was beaten and cut with a box cutter in Pearlington on Monday, Sheriff Ricky Adam said. If it wasn’t for his K9 partner, a black Belgian Malinois named Lucas, they might have succeeded.

[Deputy Frazier had stopped to check on a car that was parked at a rest stop and was ambushed by three people]

“They told him they were going to slit his throat, and they were dragging him toward the woods,” Chief Deputy Don Bass said, adding that authorities believe the attackers meant to drag Frazier into the woods, kill him, and dump his body. . .

“The three of them were dragging him toward the wooded area, and he was able to break one hand free to activate the [remote control] button that opens the door and it released Lucas,” Bass said.

“Risk of War”: China Repeatedly Warns U.S. Surveillance Plane Over Artificial Island

The Chinese navy issued warnings eight times as a U.S. surveillance plane on Wednesday swooped over islands that Beijing is using to extend its zone of influence.

The series of man-made islands and the massive Chinese military build-up on them have alarmed the Pentagon, which is carrying out the surveillance flights in order to make clear the U.S. does not recognize China’s territorial claims. The militarized islands have also alarmed America’s regional allies.

Former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell told CNN’s Erin Burnett Wednesday night that the confrontation indicates there is “absolutely” a risk of the U.S. and China going to war sometime in the future.

A CNN team was given exclusive access to join in the surveillance flights over the contested waters, which the Pentagon allowed for the first time in order to raise awareness about the challenge posed by the islands and the growing U.S. response.

CNN was aboard the P8-A Poseidon, America’s most advanced surveillance and submarine-hunting aircraft, and quickly learned that the Chinese are themselves displeased by the U.S. pushback. (Read more from “China Warns U.S. Surveillance Plane” HERE)

Worldwide Persecution of Christians at an ‘Unprecedented’ High; Here’s How Many Believers Are Killed for Their Faith Every Hour

Photo Credit: Gospel Herald Bishop John McAreavey, the Chair of the Council for Justice and Peace of the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference, has revealed that Christian persecution is at an unprecedented high, with at least 11 believers killed hourly because of their faith.

Breitbart News reports that in a presentation before the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade this past week, McAreavey emphasized that Christianity is the most oppressed religion in the world, as believers are severely persecuted 110 countries.

“Many of these countries have significant trade links with Ireland. Persecution is increasing in China,” McAreavey said, citing a recent Pew Research study. “In North Korea a quarter of the country’s Christians live in forced labour camps. Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the Maldives all feature in the 10 worst places to be Christian.

He continued: “According to the International Society for Human Rights, a non-religious organization, 80 percent of all acts of religious discrimination in the world today are directed against Christians.”

Author Admits Major Gay Marriage Study – that the Media Championed as “Miraculous” – was Fabricated

Photo Credit: Daily Caller A study purporting to show that people’s views on gay marriage could change simply by meeting gay people has been retracted following revelations that its data was fabricated.

The study was published last December in Science, and prior to publication drew a great deal of attention from the American media. Vox, for instance, described the findings in the study as “kind of miraculous.” As it turns out, that’s exactly what they were, because they were apparently made up.

The study began to fall apart when students at the University of California at Berkeley sought to conduct additional research building off of it, only to find major irregularities in how its research was apparently conducted. For example, thermometers used to measure participants’ attitudes produced consistent, reliable information, even though they are known for producing relatively unreliable numbers . . .

Donald Green, a professor at Columbia University and a co-author of the paper, made the decision to retract it after having a confrontation with co-author Michael LaCour, a graduate student at UCLA. While LaCour maintained that he hadn’t fabricated the data, he was also unable to produce the original source files supposedly used to produce it. Obama Speaks at Academy Commencement, Tells Graduates that Denying Climate Change is ‘Dereliction of Duty’ [+video]

President Obama delivered the keynote address at the United States Coast Guard Academy commencement Wednesday in New London, Connecticut. In his commencement speech, Obama warned graduates climate change is one of the largest threats they will have to face as they defend the United States and our nation’s interests abroad . . .

“If you see storm clouds gathering or dangerous shoals ahead you don’t just sit back and do nothing,” President Obama said Wednesday. “You take action to protect your ship, to keep your crew safe. Anything less is negligence. It is a dereliction of duty. So to with climate change” . . .

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Climate change is one of those most severe threats. This is not just a problem for countries on the coasts or for certain regions of the world. Climate change will impact every country on the planet. No nation is immune. So I am here today to say that climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security. And make no mistake, it will impact how our military defends our country. So we need to act and we need to act now.

In Victory for Free Speech, NAACP Loses Court Battle to Silence Black Pro-Life Activist

Photo Credit: Town Hall Ryan Bomberger, co-founder of The Radiance Foundation, has a penchant for speaking the truth—on abortion, civil rights, and a host of other social and cultural issues. If there’s one thing the Left hates, however, it’s the truth.

So when Bomberger, an Emmy-award winning creative director, wrote a snarky column in January of 2013 about the NAACP’s position on abortion that parodied the civil rights group’s name, referring to it as the National Association for the Abortion of Colored People, they weren’t too pleased, and thus, the legal battle began.

One month after the column ran on LifeNews.com, the NAACP threatened to sue Bomberger, The Radiance Foundation, and the pro-life website for what it claimed was “trademark infringement, confusion and dilution.” Bomberger then filed a declaratory action in federal court to determine that he and his organization were protected under the First Amendment so the threat could be dismissed. Shockingly, the request was denied. As Bomberger explains:

In federal court, the once great civil rights group convinced Judge Raymond Jackson to disregard our civil rights as well as all of the documentation proving how radically pro-abortion the NAACP has become. The judge ruled against The Radiance Foundation, declaring that the parody we employed isn’t, technically, a parody because he didn’t find it to be “funny”. So, he banned us from even mentioning the parodied name or ever parodying the NAACP’s name in the future. Contradicting all presented evidence, Judge Raymond Jackson declared “the NAACP has no formal position or policy regarding abortion” despite the fact that the NAACP itself declared, in its own press release, that it “took an historic pro-choice position” back on February 24, 2004.

Fortunately, Bomberger and his foundation didn’t stop there but took the case, which was defended by Alliance Defending Freedom, before the Fourth Circuit of Appeals. Today, more than two years after the whole ordeal began, Bomberger, The Radiance Foundation and the First Amendment, won a decisive victory in federal court. North Korea’s Missile Launch Photos Are Fakes, US Says

Photo Credit: Reuters Photos showing a North Korean missile launched from a submarine were manipulated by state propagandists, and the isolated country may still be years away from developing the technology, a top US military official said Tuesday.

North Korea, heavily sanctioned by the United States and United Nations for its missile and nuclear tests, said May 9 it had successfully conducted an underwater test-fire of a submarine-launched ballistic missile, which, if true, would indicate progress in its pursuit of building missile-equipped submarines.

On Wednesday, the North warned Washington not to challenge its sovereign right to boost military deterrence and boasted of its ability to miniaturize nuclear warheads, a claim it has made before and which has been widely questioned by experts and never verified.

But Pyongyang is still “many years” from developing submarine-launched ballistic missiles, US Admiral James Winnefeld told an audience at the Centre for Strategic & International Studies in Washington on Tuesday.

CIA Releases Files Showing Bin Laden Bent on Spectacular US Attack Until the End

By Dan De Luce. Hunkered down in his Pakistani compound, Osama bin Laden pleaded with his followers to stay focused on attacking the United States instead of being dragged into Muslim infighting.

Documents that were declassified on Wednesday shed new light on the mindset of Al-Qaeda’s founder, his debates over tactics, his anxiety over Western spying and his fixation with the group’s media image.

“The focus should be on killing and fighting the American people and their representatives,” the late Al-Qaeda figurehead wrote.

The letter was among thousands of files found by US Navy SEALs on May 2, 2011 when they descended on Bin Laden’s hideout in the Pakistani garrison town of Abbottabad and shot him dead.

Bin Laden: Focus on Killing Americans, not Each Other

In a video letter released by the CIA on Wednesday, the former 9/11 mastermind ordered his son to fight against the West in the event that the elder bin Laden was killed.

“Jihad is an obligated duty for all adults, so he has to conduct jihad,” bin Laden said of his son Usama. . .

From the strategic and theological discussions to the mundane details of domestic funding and security measures, the documents show the man behind 9/11 preoccupied with once again attacking the West in a spectacular fashion.

Another French Mayor Says to Hell With Islam, and Posts up a Picture of a French Crusader With These Words

Another French mayor, named Didier Barachet, is saying to hell with Islam and has posted up a portrait of a French crusader with these words:

We Will Never Submit To islam! Respect Our culture, Our Traditions, Our Values, And Our country, Otherwise Leave It!

This was done after another mayor, Robert Chardon, declared that Islam should be banned from the nation of France.

Didier Barachet, UMP mayor of Ardentes (Indre), relayed an anti-Islam message on his Facebook account. … Where the image appears there is a knight clutching his sword, alongside this message: “Never, we will submit to Islam!” “Respect our culture, our traditions, our values and my country, otherwise leave it!”
