America’s Mess: Calling Evil Good and Good Evil

What a mess our world is in. What a mess America is in. What a mess the church is in . . .

Isaiah 5:20 encapsulates, I believe, the cultural condition of much of the world, most of America and an alarmingly high percentage of those who belong, or at least claim to belong, to the body of Christ. “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

Calling evil good. That sums us up.

But, hey, “grace,” right? I mean, you’ve seen the bumper sticker. “Christ’s grace is sufficient,” isn’t it?

Well, yes and no. Christ’s grace is sufficient to give us His strength in our own pathetic weakness and to impute his perfect righteousness to us, despite our own filthy and fallen nature (see 2 Corinthians 12:9). (Read more from “America’s Mess: Calling Evil Good and Good Evil” HERE)

Watch: Sonogram Shows Unborn Baby Girl Holding Hand of Dying Twin Brother

Brittani and Ian McIntire of Hutchinson, Kansas, recently got devastating news: one of the twins that Brittani is carrying is not likely to survive. Little Mason has a hole in his heart and an abnormal brain. His twin sister Madilyn is healthy.

But then last Tuesday the McIntires saw something amazing: in a sonogram, Madilyn appears to be holding hands with brother Mason.

“He’s only weighing nine ounces and his sister is over two pounds,” Brittani told KWCH-12 in Wichita. “His only chance of survival would be heart surgery but they wouldn’t do heart surgery because of his brain” . . .

“We didn’t really see much, [the doctor] said there’s his hand and there’s her hand, and it looks like they’re holding hands. Most twins, when she’s trying to take pictures, they’re kicking each other and hitting each other, and she said with our twins it just seemed like she was very protective over him.” (Read more from “Sonogram Shows Unborn Baby Girl Holding Hand of Dying Twin Brother” HERE)

Egypt Sends 3-Year-Old to Life in Prison – Then Claim They ‘Made a Mistake’

Family members of a 3-year-old Egyptian boy who was sentenced last week to life in prison say they feel relieved after receiving assurances from officials that neither the boy nor his father will be arrested.

The boy’s father, Mansour Qorany Sharara, has returned to the family home in the southern Egyptian province of Fayyoum after nearly 18 months on the run. He had been avoiding authorities who had previously detained him when they came to arrest his young son.

In a surreal verdict, a military court last week found the boy, Ahmed Mansour Qorany Sharara, and 115 other people guilty of killing three people and sabotaging public and private property during a political demonstration in January 2014 . . .

Ahmed was 16 months old at the time of the alleged crime. (Read more from “Egypt Sends 3-Year-Old to Life in Prison – Then Claim They ‘Made a Mistake'” HERE)

Watch: Obama May Not Be Able to Replace Scalia After This Rare Footage Was Just Discovered

By Randy DeSoto. Video which recently surfaced of top Democrats talking about the Senate’s role in judicial appointments appears to hand Republicans game, set and match the debate whether Justice Antonin Scalia should be replaced this year.

C-Span tweeted video from 1992 on Monday of then Senator Joe Biden admonishing the Senate not to move forward on any potential nominees to the Supreme Court because it was a presidential election year.

“It would be our pragmatic conclusion that once the political season is underway — and it is — action on a Supreme Court nomination must be put off until after the election campaign is over,” Biden said in June of 1992. “That is what is fair to the nominee and essential to the process.”

“It is my view that if a Supreme Court justice resigns tomorrow, or within the next several weeks, or resigns at the end of the summer, President Bush should consider following the practice of a majority of his predecessors and not — and not — name a nominee until after the November election is completed,” the senator stated . . .

In 1992, Sen. Biden argued that not only should the Senate not vote on a nominee, it probably should not even go forward with a hearing in committee. “It is my view that if the president goes the way of Presidents Fillmore and Johnson, and presses an election year nomination, the Senate judiciary committee should seriously consider not scheduling confirmation hearings on the nomination until after the political campaign season is over,” he said. Supreme Court Holds First Session After Justice Scalia’s Death

By Pete Williams. Chief Justice John Roberts began Monday’s Supreme Court session — the first since Antonin Scalia’s death — with a tribute.

Roberts noted that the black drapery on Scalia’s chair and his spot on the bench “signifies a period of mourning the loss of our friend and colleague.” The seat will remain draped for roughly the next month.

It was a somber and emotional return to business for the court which is expected to hear 10 cases over the next two weeks, include a challenge to restrictions on Texas abortion clinics on March 2. Scalia’s unexpected death earlier this month brought the future of the court’s ideological makeup into sharp relief as a partisan showdown over his replacement on the bench looms.

Monday, however, was a day of reflection for the court . . .

Roberts noted — to laughter in the courtroom — that Scalia “argued his first and only case before the Supreme Court in 1976. He prevailed, establishing a perfect record before this court.” (Read more from “Supreme Court Holds First Session After Justice Scalia’s Death” HERE)

Franklin Graham: Charlotte, NC Passes Wicked, Filthy and Ludicrous Law Allowing Perverts Into Women’s Restrooms

A few hours before the Charlotte City Council’s vote on transgender access to public restrooms for the opposite sex, Franklin Graham posted this hard-hitting call to action on Facebook:

Tonight the Charlotte, NC, City Council is set to vote on an ordinance that allows people to use the public restroom of their choice regardless of their biological sex. It’s really hard to believe that such a ludicrous law would even be seriously considered—and even harder to believe that at least 8 of 11 council members have said they would vote for it! Are people just not thinking clearly? This law would allow pedophiles, perverts, and predators into women’s bathrooms. This is wicked and it’s filthy. To think that my granddaughters could go into a restroom and a man be in there exposing himself….what are we setting our children and grandchildren up for? There’s not a public restroom in Charlotte that would be safe!

It should be inconceivable that Charlotte’s mayor and the supporting City Council members have succumbed to the pressures from depraved sexual activists and are willing to put women and girls at risk like this. The ordinance was defeated last year, and the mayor shouldn’t have allowed it back on the table. Shame on her. This is why it is so important that Christians get involved in the political process across our country by running for office and by voting. What a difference it could make if we had more city council members and mayors who were willing to stand up for morality and biblical principles for our cities and communities. Less than 10% of voters turned out for the last Charlotte mayoral election—that’s just a shame, and look what’s happening as a result.

I hope Charlotte citizens will come out in droves this evening to gather at 4:45 in front of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Complex Building before the City Council meeting and let the council know without question that they overwhelmingly oppose this! And to the rest of the nation—more of these kinds of laws are coming, so be watching, be on guard, and fight against them.

Charlotte Passes Law Allowing Transgender People to Use the Opposite Sex’s Restrooms

By Tom Foreman Jr. and Jonathan Drew. North Carolina’s largest city passed a law Monday allowing transgender people to choose public bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity, which the governor had called a threat to public safety and warned that the General Assembly may step in.

The Charlotte City Council voted 7-4 to expand protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity, making it the latest frontier in a national debate on how businesses treat gay, lesbian and transgender customers. One of the revisions to the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance allows people to choose restrooms corresponding to the gender with which they identify.

“I’m pleased that Charlotte has sent a signal that we will treat people with dignity and respect, even when we disagree,” Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts said moments after the vote. (Read more from “Charlotte Passes Law Allowing Transgender People to Use the Opposite Sex’s Restrooms” HERE)

The Media Is Lying. Hillary Did NOT Win Nevada

I spent the weekend listening to national media commentators (so called “experts”) gloat over Hillary’s “decisive victory” in Nevada and how she is now on firm footing to win the Democratic presidential nomination. The media is committing fraud- you are being lied to.

Hillary’s razor thin Nevada victory wasn’t a “decisive victory.” It was an embarrassment that required spending millions of dollars to garner a pathetic 6,316 votes in an anemic turnout.

“Decisive victory?” The national media is committing fraud. Hillary once led Bernie Sanders by 40 points in Nevada. She led by 25 points less than 30 days ago. She won by 5 points.

But more importantly, the turnout was embarrassing, especially considering the millions spent on TV advertising. Hillary not only spent millions to draw a measly 6000 votes, overall turnout was down one third from 2008.

And she lost by 70 points among voters who voted based on “honesty.” (Read more from “The Media Is Lying- Hillary Didn’t Win Nevada” HERE)

Trump Questions Rubio’s Eligibility

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has continuously questioned Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s ability to legally run for president and now, on Saturday, the real estate mogul questioned Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s eligibility and suggesting he is not a citizen.

Trump took to Twitter, retweeting:

At nine minutes into the video, the litigation attorney claims that Rubio is not a naturalized citizen becuase he was born in the United States to Cuban parents who were not yet citizens.

[Rubio responded to Trump’s claims stating,] “I’m going to spend zero time on his interpretation of the Constitution with regards to eligibility.” (Read more from “Trump Questions Rubio’s Eligibility” HERE)

Something Terrifying Was Just Revealed About Obama’s Gitmo Policy

President Obama’s push to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility may be forcing the Department of Defense to release suspected terrorists newly captured by U.S. forces overseas, according to a Republican lawmaker and former Marine.

Rep. Duncan Hunter (R., Calif.) recently penned a letter to Defense Secretary Ash Carter expressing concern that Obama’s refusal to send new terrorist suspects to Guantanamo Bay is allowing them to return to the battlefield to fight U.S. forces and resume acts of terrorism.

“Given the clear position of Congress on the proposed closure of Guantanamo Bay and the prohibition on detainee transfers to domestic facilities, I am concerned that the Department of Defense is being forced to relinquish control of dangerous individuals captured by U.S. forces due to the president’s refusal to utilize Guantanamo Bay for new detention cases,” Hunter wrote to Carter on January 28.

“And once in foreign custody, an individual’s release can occur despite the best efforts of the U.S. to keep that individual in custody,” Hunter continued. “An already high-rate of recidivism adds to the probability that some individuals will subsequently reengage U.S. forces on the battlefield or resume terrorist activity. This puts American lives at risk.”

Obama, who promised to shut down Guantanamo Bay when he took office, has blocked captured terrorist suspects from being sent to the military prison. This, coupled with the United States’ closure of the detention facility near the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan at the end of 2014, raises questions about the Pentagon’s ability to detain suspected terrorists captured under the Authorization for Use of Military Force, Hunter wrote. Lisa Murkowski – the Most Liberal GOP Senator Seeking Reelection – Called out for Waffling on Scalia Replacement

As the fight to replace Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia heats up, the conservative grassroots are holding potentially waffling Republican senators’ feet to the fire. . .

Fourteen Republicans would have to join with the 46 Democrats in the Senate in order to approve an Obama nominee to the court. So far, 31 of the GOP senators have ruled out voting for a replacement for Scalia this year, leaving 23 who have not ruled out casting the vote, the New York Times reported.

Murkowski, who is the most liberal Republican seeking re-election in 2016, initially told reporters in Alaska last Wednesday that “I do believe that the nominee should get a hearing,” adding, “That doesn’t necessarily mean that that ends up in a vote. The purpose of the hearing is to determine whether or not this individual, based on their record … should be named to the highest court in the land.”

After receiving blowback from Hewitt and others, the senator appeared to walk back her statement the next day, posting on Facebook: “While the President has the Constitutional prerogative to send a nominee to the Senate for consent, it is left to the Senate to determine how to proceed after that. Given the timing of this vacancy, in the middle of our Presidential election, the American people will clearly be weighing in on the direction of the Supreme Court.”

She went on to urge President Barack Obama to follow precedent and allow his successor to appoint a replacement for Justice Scalia, and acknowledged the Senate does have the right to deny the nominee an up or down vote.

Hewitt accused Murkowski of waffling, implying she may not be reliable in the effort to block an Obama nominee.

Mark Levin: Stop the Lies, Marco

A little while back, I argued that Marco Rubio’s tactics in attacking Ted Cruz’s Senate record on immigration and national defense, among other things, were Alinskyite. They were and still are simply and demonstrably dishonest. Yet he persists, knowing full well that by the time the truth catches up with him, if ever, the damage will have been done. More recently, Rubio and his campaign team have intensified and broadened their Alinskyite tactics, now focusing on the ultimate personal smear — that Ted Cruz is a serial liar. Even in this, Rubio is not original. Of course, Donald Trump has been calling his opponents liars as an almost Tourette’s-like response against anyone who reminds him of his past but recent support for leftists and leftist causes, some of whom and which he still embraces.

But Rubio’s smears are part of a more deliberative and unrelenting propaganda campaign. They are now at the core of his campaign effort to dislodge Cruz and clear the field against Trump.

Saul Alinksy explained it this way: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Rubio fancies himself the next Ronald Reagan. But such self-aggrandizement is unmerited. He’s more Alinsky. Indeed, it was Reagan who, in his 1966 race for Governor of California, declared: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.” I doubt Reagan would approve of Rubio’s campaign of character assassination against Cruz. In all the years I campaigned for Reagan and worked for his administration, I cannot recall Reagan ever talking about another Republican this way. Certainly not as a relentless propaganda campaign.

Rubio, like Trump, has difficulty explaining his past positions. For Trump, it doesn’t seem to matter. Moreover, Trump’s resort to personal attacks can be followed up with evidence of his business accomplishments. But Rubio has no significant accomplishments other than his election to various public offices. He has few if any accomplishments outside of politics and virtually no accomplishments in public office as a U.S. senator. In fact, Rubio’s most notorious public act was as a senator, i.e., his leading role in crafting one of the most disastrous immigration bills in modern times, in knowing violation of his pledge to the voters of Florida in his last election. Not only has Rubio’s immigration record gone from anti-amnesty to pro-amnesty to utter incoherence, but the issue of his own integrity is at stake. Thus, he employs Alinsky’s rule and accuses Cruz of what he has actually become. He now focuses the media on his own accusations rather than his own thin record.

Campaigns are usually tough. No question about that. As I write this, Cruz just dropped his communications director for re-tweeting a false tweet. Perhaps there’s more to it. Trump fired some of his staff early on. Carson did the same more recently. But when the candidate himself (Rubio) is the source of the Alinskyite tactics, not a staffer acting on his own, that’s an entirely different matter. I had high hopes for Rubio when I was among his earliest supporters against Charlie Crist in Florida. But I’m deeply disappointed in him, as are many who voted for him. The growing endorsements for Rubio’s presidential candidacy from establishment Republicans, most of whom cannot better articulate his accomplishments than he can, emphasize the point.

It is not too late for Rubio to reverse course. But I doubt he will. Polling in South Carolina shows that he (along with Trump) was successful with this tactic. (For more from the author of “Mark Levin: Stop the Lies, Marco” please click HERE)
