Did Obama Lie? Do New Texts Indicate Then-Potus’ Knowledge of Hillary Investigation?

Did former president Barack Obama mislead the American people when he stated, in the heat of the Clinton email scandal, that he does not involve himself in pending investigations “conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI … in any case”?

New information released Wednesday concerning texts between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page appears to counter the narrative put forward by the former president. The texts — which have already unearthed several scandalous revelations about FBI officials’ roles in investigating Hillary Clinton — included a conversation a Senate report claims was about President Obama’s role in the Clinton email scandal and investigation.

In September 2016, Page wrote to Strzok about briefing former FBI Director James Comey on the Clinton email investigation, because “potus wants to know everything we’re doing,” Fox News reported.

Yet just five months earlier, then-President Obama stated adamantly that he would not be participating in the Clinton investigation, because it would violate his supposed impartiality.

“I do not talk to the attorney general about pending investigations. I do not talk to FBI directors about pending investigations. We have a strict line, and always have maintained it,” Obama said.

“I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI, not just in this case, but in any case,” he added.

However, in the same interview, Obama said with complete certainty he was confident that Hillary Clinton “has not jeopardized national security.”

Obama continued:

“This is somebody who has served her country for four years as secretary of state, and did an outstanding job. And no one has suggested that in some ways, as a consequence of how she’s handled e-mails, that that detracted from her excellent ability to carry out her duties.”

So did Obama really absent himself from the Hillary Clinton email investigation (which ended without any charges filed against her), or was he always managing the Justice Department’s inquiry behind the scenes?

For his part, President Trump responded on Twitter to the newly released texts, describing them as “bombshells.”

Update: The Wall Street Journal reports that according to unnamed “associates” of Strzok and Page, the texts are in reference to an investigation of Russian interference in American politics. This contrasts with Fox News’ report linking the exchange to Obama’s alleged involvement in the Clinton email investigation. (For more from the author of “Did Obama Lie? Country Becomes the First to Repeal Same-Sex Marriage

Bermuda became the first country in the world to repeal a law allowing gay couples to marry Wednesday.

The historic change comes after Bermuda governor, John Rankin, approved a bill Wednesday that reversed the nation’s 2017 Supreme Court ruling allowing gays to marry, according to the U.K. Independent.

The passage of the bill followed its approval by both the House and Senate in December. Both chambers approved the bill by wide margins.

Critics say that the move is a direct affront to both the LGBT community as well as a removal of what many deem a civil right for Bermudian citizens.

Conservatives applauded the action as a move that affirms and stabilizes a more traditional view of family.

“Governor Rankin and the Bermuda Parliament have shamefully made Bermuda the first national territory in the world to repeal marriage equality,” Ty Cobb, the Human Rights Campaign Global director, told the Independent.

“This is not equality,” 64-year-old married gay Bermudian Joe Gibbons also said.

“Progress is precious. This should worry us all! #BoycottBermuda” tweeted GLAAD president, Sarah Kate Ellis on Thursday. GLAAD advocates for LGBTQ acceptance and seeks to “shape the media narrative” according to its website.

Bermuda still allows gay couples to enter into domestic partnerships.

Bermuda minister of home affairs, Walton Brown, said that the move isn’t an attempt to ostracize gay community members but is simply an attempt to balance the widespread opposition to gay marriage which exists on the socially conservative island while ensuring protections to same-sex couples.

“The act is intended to strike a fair balance between two currently irreconcilable groups in Bermuda, by restating that marriage must be between a male and a female while at the same time recognizing and protecting the rights of same-sex couples,” Brown said.

Gay couples who married in 2017 while gay marriage was legal in Bermuda will not have their legally married status repealed.

Bermuda’s repeal of gay marriage comes after Australia and Austria both voted to legalize same-sex marriage in December.

Germany also voted to legalize gay marriage in June.

All for Dreamers? No, Nancy Pelosi’s 8-Hour Speech Was for Nancy Pelosi

So what, exactly, was the point of Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s record eight-hour speech on the floor of the House of Representatives Wednesday?

On the surface, it was a speech demanding amnesty for illegal aliens. Pelosi vowed to hold the House floor under the obscure “magic-minute” rule — which permits the majority leader, the minority leader, and the House speaker to talk as long as they’d like — until Republicans agreed to hold a vote on legal protections for so-called “Dreamers.”

Pelosi spent hours reading testimonies from illegal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children.

She quoted the Bible, with rosary in hand.

She told a story about how her grandson wishes he were Hispanic.

She actually thanked illegal immigrants for breaking the law and bringing their children to the United States, creating the controversy over amnesty that has consumed Congress.

Asserting herself as leader of the resistance, Pelosi declared her opposition to the two-year $400 billion budget cap-busting spending agreement reached in the U.S. Senate — a deal she worked to put together — because it does not address the legal status of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program recipients.

She confused and angered many Democrats. Those running for re-election in red states are worried that Pelosi’s extreme defense of illegal immigrants, along with her willingness to vote to shut down the government again, will hurt their chances in November.

“This stunt … had nothing to do with protecting vulnerable members who have to take a difficult vote,” said one anonymous Democrat who spoke to Politico. “Working out this deal and then saying she’s not going to vote for it? Come on. She was at the table.”

“Many of our members are furious. We have spent the last three weeks insisting that we don’t want to shut the government down over DACA, and she essentially made the whole thing about it. Virtually everyone trying to win seats outside of California feels she has hurt their chances,” another Democrat told Bloomberg’s Sahil Kapur.

At the same time, Pelosi is being hammered for giving a nice speech but neglecting to whip votes against the budget deal. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., vented to Politico, saying, “There’s all kinds of ways, I assure you, that leadership exercises its influence — the least of which is a floor speech.”

When asked if there was any ongoing effort to organize Democrats against the budget deal, Pelosi said, “I’m just telling people why I’m voting the way I’m voting.”

Count Gutierrez and other open-borders zealots in the Democratic Party unimpressed.

“I think the fact that you have not heard from the Democratic Party, the Democratic caucus, from Democratic Party offices, you would think that there’d be hashtags galore supporting this effort — this unprecedented effort from Nancy Pelosi,” Gutierrez told reporters Thursday. “But it’s not a coordinated effort, is it? So it makes me fearful that tomorrow the reason there isn’t a coordinated effort is that nobody wants to show their hand.”

So, if Pelosi is not organizing a Democratic revolt to shut down the government to give amnesty to illegal immigrants, what was she doing Wednesday?

Quashing rebellion:

A stealthy discussion is already underway within the Democratic Caucus, particularly among members whose only experience in Congress is in the minority.

Assuming Pelosi either leaves on her own or is pressured to step down, her exit would trigger a messy battle between the party’s old guard, led by House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), and the party’s younger members, represented by House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.).

It’s a generational showdown that’s been put off for years, but one that Democrats might not be able to be avoid much longer.

“It will be an intraparty war. That’s what you can expect,” said Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.), who predicted a “mass exodus” of Democrats if they don’t win the House in November. “That’s at the highest levels of leadership and at the committee level.”

That’s from a Politico story published Tuesday evening, speculating about Pelosi’s political future in Democratic leadership should Republicans retain control of the House of Representatives. While last month it looked like the GOP was headed for a blowout in November, new polling is showing the Democratic advantage shrinking. President Trump’s approval rating is on the upswing. The tax cuts are becoming more popular as millions of Americans are receiving bonuses and bigger weekly paychecks. At a time when Republicans are governing to benefit the American people, Democrats are demanding government benefits and protections for illegal aliens at the expense of American citizens. If Democrats do not recapture the House, progressives are going to blame the party for not being anti-Trump enough, for failing to #Resist.

So Pelosi is scared. She’s worried about a leadership coup if her party fails to deliver in the midterms, and she’s taking steps to shore up her progressive bona fides. Pelosi’s eight-hour speech was for Pelosi. She doesn’t actually care about Dreamers; if she did, she’d whip the votes against the budget deal.

Nancy Pelosi is bitterly clinging to power. And this 77-year-old swamp creature will hold the House floor for eight hours without a break to keep it. (For more from the author of “All for Dreamers? No, Nancy Pelosi’s 8-Hour Speech Was for Nancy Pelosi” please click HERE)

Female Rabbi Publishes the Single Stupidest Piece on Biblical Adam and Eve Ever Written

On Thursday evening, The Forward unleashed the single most illiterate piece ever written on the Biblical story of Adam and Eve. The piece defies description; it has to be read to be believed. Its central thesis, however, is that God somehow sexually harassed Eve, and that Eve is “the first case of #MeToo.”

This is not a total surprise coming from the same publication that ran a piece this week suggesting that Orthodox Jews are the new white supremacists.

The author, Tamara Kolton, is a female rabbi and psychologist in Birmingham, Michigan. She’s also the author of a presumably unreadable soon-to-be-released book, Oranges for Eve: Walking The Way of the Divine Feminine. But if this essay is any indicator, that book will best be used as a doorstop . . .

Kolton begins her intellectually execrable journey into Biblical exegesis by praising women coming forward to report sexual assault and harassment. That’s fine. But then she goes wildly off the rails. In fact, she goes so far off the rails she nearly runs down Harrison Ford, who must jump into a ditch in order to escape the engine of stupidity bearing down upon him, churning the earth in his wake. Spirit Airlines Wouldn’t Let This Woman Bring Her ‘Emotional Support’ Hamster on the Flight. So She Flushed It down an Airport Toilet.

For anyone familiar with Spirit Airlines, its $65 carry-on baggage fees, its $3 for water, and its $10 boarding passes, is it any wonder that the Greyhound Of The Skies may object to a passenger’s “emotional support” hamster?

It was to 21-year-old Belen Aldecosea, who flushed her pet Pebbles down a toilet at Baltimore-Washington International Airport when the airline refused to let her board the plane with her Fort Lauderdale-bound animal guest . . .

Spirit Airlines spokesman Derek Dombrowski confirmed that “our reservation representative, unfortunately, did misinform the guest that a hamster was permitted to fly as an emotional support animal (ESA) on Spirit Airlines.”

When Aldecosea arrived at BWI, she said the first Spirit agent she encountered checked in Pebbles and his small cage without a hitch. But on her way to the TSA security checkpoint, she said, a second Spirit employee ran after her and said she could not bring the rodent aboard the plane — neither in the cabin nor the cargo.

She alleges that a Spirit worker said she could flush Pebbles down a toilet, an allegation Spirit denies. (Read more from “Spirit Airlines Wouldn’t Let This Woman Bring Her ‘Emotional Support’ Hamster on the Flight. So She Flushed It down an Airport Toilet.” HERE)

Report: Remember the Money Obama Paid Iran After They Released Our Guys? It Wound up with Terrorist Groups.

The U.S. government has traced some of the $1.7 billion released to Iran by the Obama administration to Iranian-backed terrorists in the two years since the cash was transferred.

According to knowledgeable sources, Iran has used the funds to pay its main proxy, the Lebanon-based terrorist group Hezbollah, along with the Quds Force, Iran’s main foreign intelligence and covert action arm and element of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

The U.S. money supplied to Iran as part of an arms settlement dating back to the 1970s also has been traced to Iran’s backing of Houthi rebels seeking to take power in Yemen. Iran has been supporting the Yemen rebels as part of a bid to encircle and eventually take control of Saudi Arabia.

The intelligence tracing the American funds to Iranian-backed terrorists is likely to further fuel President Trump’s effort to undo the Iran nuclear deal, the Obama administration’s main foreign policy initiative codified in the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as the Iran nuclear deal is called.

Despite promises to reject the deal during the presidential campaign, Mr. Trump announced in January the U.S. would not pull out of the Iran nuclear accord for now. But the president criticized the transfer of money to Tehran and signaled that Washington is going after Iran’s funding of terrorism. Exposed: Top Dem Probing Trump Has Own Russia Secret

The Democrats long have claimed that it was the Trump campaign that was colluding with Russians to steal the 2016 election from their candidate, the now twice-failed Hillary Clinton.

The facts are that Clinton’s campaign paid an operative to get information from Russians to create a dossier of “dirt” on her political foe, Donald Trump.

Now another Democrat has been revealed as having texted many times with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch as he tried to set up a meeting with ex-British spy Christopher Steele, who was funded by the Democrats while he wrote the dossier, which was used as evidence to get permission to spy on the Trump campaign.

Ed Henry at Fox News reports that there are text messages that reveal Sen. Mark Warner tried to set up that meeting.

Warner has “been leading a congressional investigation into President Trump’s alleged ties to Russia,” the report noted, even though he “had extensive contact last year with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch who was offering Warner access to former British spy and dossier author Christopher Steele.” (Read more from “Exposed: Top Dem Probing Trump Has Own Russia Secret” HERE)

Billionaire Hires Impeachment ‘Army’ to ‘Remove Trump from Power’

Liberal billionaire Tom Steyer, a friend and donor to Obama and Clinton, is hiring an army of more than 50 political operatives in a major campaign to help Democrats get control of the U.S. House this year and “remove Trump from power.”

“Need to Impeach” Founder Steyer, 60, announced Thursday that he is hiring a team of 50 political and communications strategists to coordinate his campaign. While Steyer launched his $20 million campaign to impeach Trump last year, he has now promised to double that amount and also spend $30 million on 2018 House races through his super PAC, NextGen America.

“The team, including 50 staff members, is adding thousands of new supporters to the impeachment movement each day, creating a digital army of activists who are mobilizing to take back the House of Representatives in the 2018 election and remove Trump from power,” read a Thursday statement from “Need to Impeach.”

Separately, House Democrats announced Thursday that they plan to target as many as 101 Republican-held congressional seats this year, the most in a decade.

Steyer, who was once considered for secretary of energy during the Obama administration, spent $10 million opposing Trump’s successful tax-reform package. He contributed about $90 million to Democratic Party candidates and causes in 2016. (Read more from “Billionaire Hires Impeachment ‘Army’ to ‘Remove Trump from Power'” HERE)

Former Trump Aide’s Ex-Wife Warns: If He Hasn’t Been Abusive with Hope Hicks Yet, He Will Be Soon

Jennie Willoughby, one of the ex-wives of former White House staff secretary Rob Porter, said that if Porter hasn’t already been abusive in his relationship with White House communications director Hope Hicks, he will be soon.

Reports emerged this week where Willoughby and another ex-wife of Porter accused him of being abusive in their marriages. Willoughby, who was married to Porter in 2009, told CNN anchor Anderson Cooper on Thursday that she doesn’t believe Porter has changed when asked if she thought Porter was different in his relationship with Hicks . . .

“It worries me for a lot of reasons, I mean it definitely worries me because if I’m being frank with you, if he hasn’t already been abusive with Hope, he will,” Willoughby said. “Particularly now that he’s under a lot of stress and scrutiny. That’s when the behaviors come out. And if he hasn’t already, he will.” . . .

Porter’s first wife, Colbie Holderness, then told the Daily Mail for a separate report published Wednesday that the former White House aide had punched her face, choked her, and other abuses. The second report featured a photo of his first wife with a black eye. (Read more from “Former Trump Aide’s Ex-Wife Warns: If He Hasn’t Been Abusive with Hope Hicks Yet, He Will Be Soon” HERE)

FBI Texts: Huma Abedin Sought Immunity – or Would Take ‘5th’

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s closest aide, Huma Abedin, likely threatened to take “the 5th” if she didn’t get immunity to talk to a grand jury, according to a newly released batch of phone texts between two pro-Clinton, anti-Trump FBI officials.

The texts just released by Sen. Ron Johnson’s Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee revealed that the threat came in December 2016, after it was thought the Clinton email probe was dormant but one focusing on her husband’s sexting to a 15-year-old girl was ongoing.

The texts do not give much context, other than mentioning a grand jury. Just before the election, there was a renewed focus on Abedin because Clinton emails were found on the computer of her estranged husband, eventually sentenced to two years for sexting the teen.

But a month before the new text revealing the demand from Abedin’s lawyers, the FBI closed the link between the Weiner computer and the Clinton case . . .

Writing on Dec. 13, Strzok texted, “Talked to DoJ about HA interview. Told them we had to interview, no immunity. They said they thought that would get counsel to the point of saying she’s either taking the 5th in the Gj or you need to give her immunity. I said that’s fine, please have discussions to get the decision to that point and I would run up the chain.” (Read more from “Fbi Texts: Huma Abedin Sought Immunity – or Would Take ‘5th'” HERE)
