Chuck Norris Files Lawsuit Against Two Huge Media Companies

Action star Chuck Norris has filed a lawsuit against CBS and Sony Pictures for $30 million, alleging that the companies did not pay him an agreed-upon portion of the profits from “Walker, Texas Ranger,” a 1990s TV show he starred in.

According to the breach-of-contract suit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court by Norris’ Top Kick Productions, CBS agreed to pay the actor a sizable percentage of the profits from the hit TV series, but then failed to do so.

Norris was supposed to get 23 percent “of the profits earned from any, and all, exploitation of ‘Walker,’” the suit reads.

“Instead, CBS and Sony materially breached the contractual duties they owed to Mr. Norris and his company Top Kick,” the lawsuit adds.

“Specifically, the Defendants have consciously sought to market, sell and distribute Walker in ways that are designed to collect significant fees and revenues from the ongoing exploitation of Walker but without having to honor or pay Top Kick, and to instead materially breach the 23 Percent Profit Clause.”

Norris and his legal team are arguing that CBS agreed to distribute the series in part due to Norris’ “success, history, brand and image.”

Moreover, the suit claims that both CBS and Sony used on-demand services — rather than TV and DVD — to avoid having to pay Norris what he is rightfully owed, as reported by Fox News.

Top Kick Productions says both companies’ actions have cost the actor millions of dollars over the years.

“Defendants have rejected, ignored and failed to consider offers from third parties who were willing to pay a premium license fee for ‘Walker,’ because Defendants preferred to self-deal by negotiating special licensing deals, with minimal fees, with their own networks,” the suit reads.

“This has cost Top Kick millions of dollars in past and future license fees.”

All eight seasons of “Walker, Texas Ranger” aired on CBS between 1993 and 2001. The show starred Norris as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker.

Since he appeared in the show, Norris has achieved internet fame among younger generations. He has also had roles in movies like “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” (2004) and “The Expendables 2” (2012).

According to the lawsuit, Norris’ internet fame and movie work have ensured that “Walker” remains popular.

It’s not the first time in recent months Norris has been involved in a lawsuit.

As The Western Journal reported in November, the actor said he was pursuing a suit against several health care companies after his wife, Gena Norris, experienced a rapid deterioration in health following an MRI scan injection.

“I’ve given up my film career to concentrate on Gena, my whole life right now is about keeping her alive,” Norris told Good Health.

“I believe this issue is so important,” he added. (For more from the author of “Chuck Norris Files Lawsuit Against Two Huge Media Companies” please click HERE)

Activists Now Identify as LGBTQQICAPF2K+

Some members of the gay-rights community are adding the letter ‘K,’ for “kink,” to the ever-expanding acronym of identities.

The official acronym is now LGBTQQICAPF2K+ according to the magazine The Gay UK. That stands for “Lesbian,” “Gay,” “Bisexual,” “Transgender,” “Queer,” “Questioning,” “Intersex,” “Curious,” “Asexual,” “Agender,” “Ally,” “Pansexual,” “Polysexual,” “Friends and family,” “Two-spirit” and “Kink.”

The Gay UK said the acronym has been growing since the 90s “out of a need to move away from the limiting ‘gay community’” and to “encompass any community that defines itself as anything but heterosexual or cisgender.”

But other members of the community aren’t on board with “kink.”

Claire Heuchan, a self-described black radical feminist who blogs under the name Sister Outrider, said people with kinks can’t be in the club because they don’t face “any structural or systemic discrimination as a result of those proclivities.” (Read more from “Activists Now Identify as LGBTQQICAPF2K+” HERE)

Rapist Sues State for Not Having ‘Proper’ Islamic Food

An inmate has sued the Oregon Department of Corrections staff for failing to serve halal meals in accordance with his Muslim faith.

Rashid Kambarov, 29, who is serving an eight-year sentence for rape, filed a complaint this week in U.S. District Court in Pendleton.

The Turkish migrant is not a U.S. citizen but is living in the United States legally on a green card. He is currently incarcerated at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla and is suing the superintendent along with other administrators at the prison, the Oregonian reports.

Betty Bernt, spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections, said the agency accommodates inmates’ requests for religious diets by offering a “meat alternative tray” or a kosher diet prepared in accordance with Jewish law.

Kambarov alleges he is not served halal meat and that vegetarian alternatives have been cross-contaminated with pork. Halal refers to food and drink prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary laws, including beef and chicken that is ritualistically slaughtered in the presence of an imam. 100% of This College Donations Go to Democrats

Since 2009, only two Williams College employees have donated money to Republicans, but Democrats have raked in thousands from faculty and staff members over the same period.

The Williams Record originally reported that faculty and staff at the New England liberal arts college donated a total of $20,325.22 to candidates and committees in federal elections in 2017, with every contribution going to Democrats.

Individual employees’ total contributions in 2017 ranged from $5,264 to $2, averaging $267 per employee. The various donations went to fundraisers and PACs such as MoveOn.org PAC, ActBlue, and Emily’s List.

Campus Reform verified the paper’s findings through the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) Individual Contributor Search, finding that not only was The Record correct in its assertion, but that only two employees have made political contributions to a right-leaning individual or organization since the FEC began its digital database. James Comey Fires off Unhinged Tweet After FISA Memo Released Showing FBI Corruption

Media was set ablaze after the House Intelligence Committee released their classified FISA memo on Friday morning.

The unclassified memo shows former FBI Director James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Yates and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein misled the FISA court . . .

James Comey attacked Nunes’ memo as “dishonest and misleading” and said it wrecked the House Intel Committee and exposed a classified investigation of an American citizen.

In other words, Comey is angry he and his criminal cabal of crooked cops have been exposed.

We know from the unclassified FISA memo that a FISA warrant would have never been issued to spy on Trump’s camp without Hillary’s phony Russia dossier, according to Andrew McCabe. (Read more from “James Comey Fires off Unhinged Tweet After FISA Memo Released Showing FBI Corruption” HERE)

Google Caught Sponsoring Symposium for ‘Islamist Anti-Semites’

Google and YouTube have been caught sponsoring a symposium that featured a roster of “known Islamist anti-Semites,” and a widely recognized monitor of radical Islamic terror is wondering why.

“Why are Google and YouTube providing a forum for Islamists who approve of Shariah-imposed ‘death by stoning?’” asks Steven Emerson, founder of the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

“For more than two decades, the IPT has investigated the operations, funding, activities and front groups of Islamic terrorist and extremist groups in the United States and around the world. It has become a principal source of critical evidence to a wide variety of government offices and law enforcement agencies, as well as the U.S. Congress and numerous public policy forums,” his site explains.

Just now Emerson is asking why the web giants were lending their names and finances to an organization called Imams Online to hold a “Digital Summit.” . . .

Google, while lending its name to the pro-Islam event, also has been censoring pro-Israel voices, such as Prager University. Its YouTube company has “restricted access to Prager U’s pro-Israel videos and has removed dozens of other videos for no apparent reason other than Google does not like Prager’s politics,” IPT reports. Uh-Oh: New Texts from Anti-Trump FBI Agents Show They Tried to Evade Rule to Archive Messages

In a new and potentially explosive revelation, the two pro-Clinton, anti-Trump officials at the center of a growing scandal at the agency were eager to “get around” rules requiring the preservation of their phone texts and even sought to get different phones that would make that easier.

What’s more, according to newly released texts between former agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page, ignoring the archiving rules was widely accepted throughout the Obama government.

In new texts between the two released Thursday by the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Page wrote that she was to get an Apple iPhone, likely from the FBI’s IT director.

Texted Strzok: “Hot damn. I’m happy to pilot that…we get around our security/monitoring issues?”

Page: “No, he’s proposing that we just stop following them. Apparently the requirement to capture texts came from omb, but we’re the only org (I’m told) who is following that rule. His point is, if no one else is doing it why should we.” (Read more from “Uh-Oh: New Texts from Anti-Trump FBI Agents Show They Tried to Evade Rule to Archive Messages” HERE)

Meet the Man Behind the Nunes Memo

By WND. Before President Trump was inaugurated a little more than a year ago, few Americans had heard of Devin Nunes.

But with his leading role in the Trump-Russia probe over the past year and with the imminent release of a four-page document he spearheaded that is said to allege politically motivated intelligence abuses “worse than Watergate,” the 44-year-old Republican congressman from California’s San Joaquin Valley is in the spotlight.

As WND reported Thursday, a senior administration official told reporters President Trump has read the memo and plans to hand it back to the House Intelligence Committee chaired by Nunes on Friday for release . . .

The biggest paper in his district hometown newspaper has joined with Democrats in calling him a “Trump stooge,” charging he’s trying to deflect attention from special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign to win the 2016 election.

The editorial board of the Fresno Bee asked: “What, pray tell, does Rep. Devin Nunes think he’s doing by waving around a secret memo attacking the FBI, the nation’s premier law enforcement agency? He certainly isn’t representing his Central Valley constituents or Californians, who care much more about health care, jobs and, yes, protecting Dreamers than about the latest conspiracy theory.” (Read more from “Meet the Man Behind the Nunes Memo” HERE)

Pelosi Twitter Tear Targets ‘Obsessed’ Nunes Ahead of House Intel Memo’s Imminent Release

By Fox News. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi unleashed a Twitter storm Thursday, blanketing her social media feed with calls for the removal of U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, which voted to release a contentious memo on purported surveillance abuses.

Using the hashtag #RemoveNunes, Pelosi wrote late Thursday: “RETWEET if you are concerned about @DevinNunes’ obsession with prioritizing short-term politics over America’s long-term national security!”

Underneath the post warning of Nunes’ “obsession,” which Pelosi pinned to the top of her Twitter account, were four more urgently worded posts – also made Thursday – calling for Nunes’ departure.

“@DevinNunes’ deliberately dishonest actions make him unfit to serve as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee,” she wrote Thursday. “@SpeakerRyan must immediately remove him from this position.” . . .

Pelosi soon doubled down in a follow-up post on Twitter, this time employing an illustration: Nunes appears superimposed behind the words “NUNES MUST GO” in all-capital letters.

Horrifying: Ex-Cop Testifies That Baltimore Police Carried Fake Guns to Plant on Suspects

An former Baltimore Police detective testified Tuesday that several corrupt Baltimore cops kept fake guns in their cars to plant on suspects in case they were ever accused of a “dirty shooting.”

Maurice Ward, who is a former member of Baltimore’s Gun Trace Task Force — the group now involved in an ongoing corruption trial in Maryland — told the jury that while on duty with the Task Force, he noticed that several of his colleagues kept BB guns and other fake weapons in their glove compartments. Ward claimed they kept the toys “in case we accidentally hit somebody or got into a shootout, so we could plant them,” according to the Baltimore Sun.

Although Ward was unable to say whether Baltimore cops had actually ever planted a fake weapon on a dead suspect, at least one of the defendants, one of Ward’s fellow detectives, was found to have a fake gun in his glove compartment following his 2015 arrest.

Six members of the Task Force have already pleaded guilty to racketeering. Two others, Daniel Hersl and Marcus Taylor, remain on trial for everything from robbery to faking evidence. (Read more from “Horrifying: Ex-Cop Testifies That Baltimore Police Carried Fake Guns to Plant on Suspects” HERE)

U.S. State Bucking National Trend, Considers Lowering Minimum Wage

The state of Maine is bucking the nationwide push to raise the minimum wage as it considers lowering the recent increase the state implemented. On January 1 the minimum wage was raised to $10 an hour, but a bill proposed by Gov. Paul LePage, LD 1757, would lower it by 50 cents in June . . .

The bill states it affects the minimum wage by “reducing the minimum wage from $10 per hour to $9.50 per hour beginning June 1, 2018; reducing the amount by which the minimum hourly wage rates are scheduled to increase annually on January 1st from 2019 to 2021 from $1 per year to 50 cents per year, and decreasing from $12 to $11 the minimum hourly wage rate required to be paid in 2021; eliminating the cost-of-living adjustment to the minimum wage; and establishing a training minimum wage for employees 18 years of age or older and under 20 years of age for the first 90 days of employment and a youth minimum wage for employees under 18 years of age.” (Read more from “U.S. State Bucking National Trend, Considers Lowering Minimum Wage” HERE)
