New Calif Bill Aims to Control Speech With ‘Fact Checkers’ to Regulate Social Media, Websites

The state of California might be going full-tilt totalitarianism if a new bill that seeks to stifle opposing views and differing opinions is passed.

California Sen. Richard Pan introduced SB1424 “Internet: social media: false information: strategic plan” that on the surface seeks to regulate social media within the state. But, a deeper look into the bill, shows that the speech stifling consequences could spread well beyond the Golden State. . .

The bill reads in part:

Existing law prohibits a person, among others, from making or disseminating in any advertising device, or in any manner or means whatever, including over the Internet, any statement concerning real or personal property or services that is untrue or misleading, as specified.

This bill would require any person who operates a social media, as defined, Internet Web site with a physical presence in California to develop a strategic plan to verify news stories shared on its Web site. The bill would require the plan to include, among other things, a plan to mitigate the spread of false information through news stories, the utilization of fact-checkers to verify news stories, providing outreach to social media users, and placing a warning on a news story containing false information.

Murder, Rape and Suicide: How an Obama Era ‘Diversity’ Directive Ushered Injustice Into Our Public Schools

When a policy intended to create racial equality treats students differently based on the color of their skin and buries serious wrongdoing in the name of diversity, real victimhood is ripe for the making and injustice is bound to flourish.

An Obama-era diversity-themed education directive has been doing just that, according to educators, anti-school violence advocates, and guardians of student victims. Whistle-blowers have uncovered the ushering in of seemingly avoidable rapes, sexual assaults, suicides, murders, and vicious bullying within the halls of our public schools due to a threatening federal guidance issued in 2014.

Education Week explains that the civil rights guidance, which was jointly issued by the Departments of Education and Justice, “put schools on notice that they may be found in violation of federal civil rights laws” or denied federal grants “if they enforce intentially discriminatory rules or if their policies lead to disproportionately higher rates of discipline for students in one racial group, even if those policies were written without discriminatory intent.” . . .

Nicole Landers, a pediatric nurse, mother of six, and advocate against school violence, told The Daily Wire that her fiftth grade daughter Tama shared her story of being sexually assaulted in school to Secretary DeVos at the meeting. Landers’ daughter was the only student victim in attendance; other victims were represented by their guardians . . .

Landers succinctly concluded, “However these guidelines were intended, we can’t speak to; the outcome of these guidelines is that all the children are getting hurt,” she explained. “The offending students are not getting identified, assessed and getting appropriate intervention; the victimized students are getting repeatedly victimized; the educators are living in fear of trying to do anything disciplinary in their classrooms for fear of being labeled discriminatory in their actions; the principals are terrified of the central office, so they’re suppressing the data and putting pressure on the teachers to do the same; and the states are worried about the loss of grant funds and CVR investiagtions.” (Read more from “Murder, Rape and Suicide: How an Obama Era ‘Diversity’ Directive Ushered Injustice Into Our Public Schools” HERE)

Comedian Leftist Arrested for Alleged Bomb Threat

Former “Silicon Valley” actor T.J. Miller, an outspoken leftist who was previously accused of sexual assault, has now been arrested for allegedly making a fake bomb threat from a train last month.

According to TheWrap, “Miller was arrested at LaGuardia Airport in New York City and was charged with intentionally conveying false information to law enforcement, which has a maximum sentence of five years jail time. He was released on $100,000 bail.”

The New York Department of Justice alleges that Miller made a false bomb threat on March 18 when he called the police from an Amtrak saying that a woman with brown hair and a brown scarf was carrying a bomb in her bag. Amtrak investigators immediately probed the train when it stopped in Westport, Connecticut, forcing the passengers off. They found nothing. More from TheWrap:

Later, an investigator contacted Miller about his claim. The DOJ said Miller’s description of the woman was different, and that the investigator detected slurring in his voice. Miller said the woman kept checking her bag — which he described as a ‘black bag carry on suitcase with a handle’ — without taking anything out. He also said she kept asking the first class attendant what the next stop was, and seemed to want to get off the train and leave her bag behind. When asked if he had been drinking, Miller said he only had one glass of wine.

Mattis Says U.S. Hasn’t Ruled out Action Against Assad

By CNN. The US has not ruled out launching airstrikes against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime in response to the weekend’s suspected chemical gas attack on civilians, Defense Secretary James Mattis said Monday.

“I don’t rule out anything right now,” Mattis said while hosting Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the emir of Qatar, at the Pentagon.

“The first thing we have to look at is why are chemical weapons still being used at all when Russia was the framework guarantor of removing all chemical weapons, and so working with our allies and partners from NATO to Qatar and elsewhere we are going to address this issue,” Mattis continued.

‘I Don’t Rule Anything Out’: Mattis on Taking Action in Syria

By AFP. US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis on Monday pointed toward Russia’s role in a suspected poison gas attack on the Syrian rebel-held town of Douma, and said he would not rule out a military response.

Russia was supposed to guarantee the disposal of Syria’s stockpile of chemical weapons in September 2013, but President Bashar al-Assad’s regime is suspected of conducting repeated gas attacks since then.

“The first thing we have to look at is why are chemical weapons still being used at all when Russia was the framework guarantor of removing all the chemical weapons,” Mattis said at the Pentagon in a meeting with his Qatari counterpart.

“Working with our allies and our partners from NATO to Qatar and elsewhere, we are going to address this issue … I don’t rule out anything right now.”

Facebook Admits to Helping Mueller Probe

By AP. . .Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg disclosed Tuesday his company is “working with” special counsel Robert Mueller in the federal probe of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign — and working hard to change its own operations after the harvesting of users’ private information by a Trump campaign-affiliated data-mining company.

The founder of the social media giant publicly apologized for his company’s errors in failing to better protect the personal information of its millions of users, a controversy that has brought a flood of bad publicity and sent the company’s stock value plunging. He seemed to achieve a measure of success: Facebook shares surged 4.5 percent for the day, the biggest gain in two years.

Zuckerberg told the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees that he has not been personally interviewed by Mueller’s team, but “I know we’re working with them.” He offered no details, citing a concern about confidentiality rules of the investigation. The Bubble: Mueller Has ‘Declared War Against the President,’ Sean Hannity Says

By USA Today. This week, commentators reacted to the stunning news that FBI agents raided the office of President Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

Some conservatives reacted to the news as an attack on Trump and the rule of law, declaring it proof that special counsel Robert Mueller is out to get the president. Others were less concerned about the legality of the move than the risk that the investigation, like the Monica Lewinsky scandal, will shift from its primary focus to a crime related to a personal affair.

Many liberal commentators, on the other hand, saw the raid as an affirmation of Mueller’s commitment to focus on Russian meddling because he referred the matter to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Others argued the FBI’s action spells imminent doom for Trump.

“It is clear, as I have been warning, Mueller is out to get the president and it appears at any cost,” said visibly agitated Fox News host Sean Hannity after the raid.

Mueller has effectively “declared war against the president of the United States,” Hannity said. “Clearly, his objective is to remove him from office. Mystery ‘Trumpet Sounds From Sky’ in Hawaii

By WND. Snippins News has posted online a video that contains sounds that are described as possibly being from “tidal waves, methane explosions, underground earthquakes, or shifting sand dunes.” . . .

“Although it’s probable that these ‘weird apocalyptic’ booming sounds seemingly coming from the skies have an earthly origin, USGS scientist David Hill says that it’s also possible some of these noises originate from above,” the report explains. . .

Some, the posting explains, are speculating “that the end times and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ are imminent.”

“Jesus Christ is coming soon. I say it is a trumpet,” said “Believer John Seventeen” on YouTube.

“User Jeff Suttles twisted the end times angle into a Trump joke. ‘Heaven is trying to influence the outcome of the 2020 election by blowing trumpets,’ he wrote. ‘I say that Donald is colluding with heaven. Sign of the Apocalypse? Trumpet-Like Sounds Recorded on Video in Hawaii

By PJ Media. A video recording of eerie trumpet sounds from Hawaii has gone viral on YouTube, leading some to speculate that the End Times and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ are imminent. Others suggested UFOs, scientific explanations, and even Godzilla. (Watch the video below.) . . .

The video itself has no clear religious meaning, however.

Snippins News posted the video, reporting, “Not the first time to be heard, but it’s been heard in multiple places all strangely at the same time.”

“Unusual and unexplained noises are recorded in various locations around the world from time to time,” Snippins News added. “While the specific origins of all such sounds may not yet be known, most scientific research points to natural causes such as tidal waves, methane explosions, underground earthquakes, or shifting sand dunes as explanations for these aural phenomena.”

DEEP STATE IN TOTAL CONTROL: President’s FBI Raids Home of Trump Lawyer Following Recent Scandal

By WND. The FBI raided the office, home and hotel room of President Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, on Monday and seized records there, according to the New York Times.

And now federal authorities have possession of emails and other communications exchanged between Trump and his personal lawyer, which could expose the president to further scrutiny.

Cohen is being investigated for possible bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance violations, three sources told the Washington Post Monday evening.

The records taken by the federal bureau include those related to payments made to a pornographic actress known as Stormy Daniels, a woman who claims she had sex with Trump in 2006. In addition to records related to payments made to Daniels, the FBI also reportedly took copies of emails, tax records and business documents. The investigators also confiscated Cohen’s phone and computer.

What to Make of the FBI’s Raid of Michael Cohen’s Office: A Former Agent Reads the Tea Leaves

By NY Daily News. . .What today’s action demonstrates is that the special counsel is not only conducting a serious investigation of Russia interference in our democracy, and of those U.S. persons who may have colluded or conspired or otherwise enabled it, but a thorough one.

As one who’s seen Mueller in action up close and personally for a lot of years, I have long expected nothing less.

What is particularly interesting about today’s action, however, is not that it is serious or thorough, but that it was based on a referral from the special counsel to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York.

Media speculation has suggested the primary basis for the referral was the $130,000 “hush money” payment Cohen made to pornographic-film actress Stephanie Clifford, aka Stormy Daniels, who has said repeatedly and quite convincingly that she had an affair with Trump.

But it is quite possible that was not the only basis for the search warrant used to authorize the action. Scope is a big deal in a federal search warrant. Typically, investigators can’t just take anything they please. This is particularly true in a search of a lawyer’s office, where protection of “privileged information” is the most sacred of legal cows. Boston Marathon Allows Male ‘Transgender’ Runners to Compete as Women

By Life Site News. The annual Boston Marathon begins on Monday, April 16, but this year the event comes with a dose of transgender politics.

At least five men who openly identify as women are slated to compete next week, and will be recognized under their “gender identity” rather than their biological sex, the Associated Press reports.

“We take people at their word. We register people as they specify themselves to be,” Boston Athletic Association head Tom Grilk said. “Members of the LGBT community have had a lot to deal with over the years, and we’d rather not add to that burden.” He added that there was little debate over the decision within the organization.

The Boston Athletic Association clarified to NPR that while this is how the marathon will operate in practice, it has no written policy that specifically addresses transgendered runners.

Boston, Other Marathons Say Trans Men Can Compete as Women

By AP. . .Several other major marathons said they have no official policies but are taking a similar approach to Boston. Organizers of the Chicago, New York City, London and Los Angeles marathons all said they honor the gender that runners submit during sign-ups.

“We want to be inclusive and sensitive to all of our participants,” said Carey Pinkowski, Chicago Marathon executive race director. “At this point, we don’t feel that we need to require legal or medical records or anything along those lines.” . . .

In elite competition, debate has mostly focused on transgender “women”, who typically require surgery or medication to lower their testosterone levels. Olympic officials issued new rules in 2016 saying trans women can compete if their testosterone levels stay beneath a certain limit, and many professional races now follow similar rules. 5 Compelling Reasons Why The YouTube Shooting Has Disappeared From Headlines

Breaking news alerts announcing reports of a shooting at YouTube’s headquarters quickly faded from the spotlight and out of the news cycle—and there are a number of imperative reasons why the rampage initiated by a woman who injured three people and then killed herself has not been used to push the mainstream’s media obsession with gun control.

Here are 5 compelling reasons why the YouTube shooting has disappeared from headlines:

1. As a woman, a peaceful vegan, and a PETA advocate, the suspected shooter is the opposite of the typical “mass shooter” profile promoted by the mainstream media.

When the suspected shooter was identified as Nasim Najafi Aghdam—a 39-year-old woman attempting to carry out a mass shooting when the overwhelming majority of mass shooting suspects are typically men in their early 20s, it may have seemed as though she would actually receive more media attention than most.

However, Aghdam does not appear to have been a white supremacist, a crazy conspiracy theorist, or a religious cult member. Instead, she was a vegan YouTube content creator with a long list of bizarre videos and a passion for animal rights. Despite being Iranian-American, which would excite neocons who are hungry for war with Iran, it does not appear that Aghdam had a political motive or was affiliated with any terrorist groups.

2. The shooter reportedly used a handgun, which also deviates from the mainstream narrative that all mass shooters use high-powered rifles.

Aghdam’s weapon of choice was a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun, which she purchased legally in January. While Bloomberg attempted to blame Smith & Wesson by noting that the company’s AR-15 was the gun used in the Parkland shooting, the fact is that the weapon Aghdam used does not fit the narrative of dangerous firearms pushed by the mainstream media.

To attempt to ban a 9mm handgun would be almost impossible, but to attempt to ban a firearm that has been demonized and referred to as an “assault rifle” used in a number of mass shootings, is something the media has been working towards for years. While it is estimated that more than 8 million Americans own AR-15s, it has not stopped the mainstream media from openly calling for a ban on “assault rifles” and attempting to explain “Why the AR-15 keeps appearing at America’s deadliest mass shootings.”

3. The shooting happened in California—a state that has already enacted some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation.

When a mass shooting occurs, one of the first things the mainstream media and gun control advocates tend to do—after blaming the weapon—is to look at the location where the shooting took place and how that state’s gun laws can be tightened to prevent another attack.

In this case, the shooting happened in San Bruno, California, which already has some of the strictest gun laws in the United States. As a “May Issue” state, California issues concealed handgun permits to individuals at the discretion of the local sheriff, and restrictions can be based on where that permit can be used in the state itself. California also requires all guns to be registered, and it does not honor permits from any other states.

4. The police were warned about the shooting by the suspect’s father in advance, and they did nothing—something the media tends to cover up.

One day before Nasim Aghdam entered YouTube’s headquarters and opened fire on innocent employees, her father contacted police to report that she was missing, and warned that she may be planning an attack on YouTube. Ismail Aghdam said “she was angry” because YouTube “stopped everything” in terms of monetizing her videos, and he warned police that his daughter may be trying to attack YouTube because she “hated” the company.

While police reportedly found Nasim Aghdam sleeping in a car at 2 a.m. on the morning of the shooting, it is not clear why greater surveillance measures were not taken at YouTube’s headquarters, or how long the attack lasted before Aghdam took her own life and police arrived at the scene.

5. The shooter blamed YouTube for censoring and demonetizing her videos—a problem alternative content creators experience on a daily basis that mainstream media tries to pretend doesn’t exist.

As her father noted, Nasim Aghdam was overwhelmingly angry with YouTube for demonetizing her videos and she believed that the platform was intentionally censoring her work. On her website, Aghdam wrote,

There is no free speech in the real world and you will be suppressed for telling the truth that is not supported by the system. Videos of targeted users are filtered and merely relegated so that people can hardly see their videos.

While most content creators who have had their channels demonetized by the giant platform would never dream of going to its headquarters and attacking innocent employees, the fact is that YouTube does have a serious ongoing problem.

As The Free Thought Project has reported, while YouTube has ignored ISIS recruiting videos, it has chosen to label videos that show the United States committing war crimes, conducting airstrikes that kill innocent civilians and aiding the enemies it claims to be fighting as “extremist content” that is banned from the site.

The platform has also started openly targeting smaller channels by demonetizing them and removing the incentive for the creators to continue to attempt to grow their channels.

While there is no way to defend Nasim Aghdam’s actions, there are a number of glaring reasons why the shooting she carried out has been blacklisted by the mainstream media, as it does not fit the typical narrative and can hardly be used to rally against one race or religion, or to call for increased gun control. America’s homeless as well as “overwhelming numbers” of American veterans go without proper health care everyday, but apparently for Harris and her Democratic cohorts, those who came to the U.S. illegally should be the ones getting the priority on health care.

Others on Twitter agreed with Woods.
