Father Fights off 4 Armed Robbers While Holding Baby

A father and daughter went on what was supposed to be a quick food run inside an Orange Mound McDonalds on Tuesday, but it became a moment that forever changed their lives.

“I’m getting chocked out from the back, then I’m getting hit all in my face,” Martavious Conner recalled. “And I have her in my hands at the time.”

The Memphis father was not only fighting for his own life, but that of his one-year-old daughter Malaysia as well. . .

Martavious Conner said one of the alleged attackers was also ‘packing heat.’ While being pistol-whipped and in a chokehold, the father said he was able to shoot one of the accused robbers in each leg. . .

The attackers drove off and stopped two miles away at a fire station. Police then took Cortez Cole, Ladarius Pugues, Quinton Webb and Terrell Pullen into custody. (Read more from “Father Fights off 4 Armed Robbers While Holding Baby” HERE)

LGBT Agenda Challenged by Christian Law Firm

A radical change is taking place in America’s beloved, century-old 4-H youth organization – one that promises to create a schism as deep and damaging as the one endured by another beloved, century-old youth organization, the Boy Scouts, which many have recently declared “dead.” . . .

McAlister is referring to a largely unpublicized, multi-pronged, state-by-state movement to impose highly controversial transgender policies – including the admission of biological males into female restrooms, locker rooms and showers and mandatory use of exotic transgender pronouns – on the nation’s 4-H rural youth organizations.

After WND’s exclusive reporting on this below-the-radar movement – first in Idaho, and then more recently in Iowa – the public interest law firm Liberty Counsel sent a strongly worded 2,600-word letter demanding, on multiple legal grounds, the Iowa State University Extension Service administering the state’s 4-H program immediately cease its planned imminent adoption of the radical LGBTQ agenda. . .

Although 4-H is administered by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, or NIFA, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, it is overseen and guided by “a network of 100 public universities,” specifically their extension services. These universities in turn comprise the source of a coordinated and, until recently, quiet push to impose on 4-H highly controversial LGBTQ policies.

Although Iowa’s policy document spelling everything out, titled “Inclusion Policy: LGBT Youth and Volunteers,” was posted on the “Policy and Guidance” section of the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach website, after WND’s coverage and Liberty Counsel’s subsequent entry into the controversy, the LGBT “Inclusion Policy” document was mysteriously taken down. WND reached out to John-Paul Chaisson-Cárdenas, Iowa’s 4-H youth development program leader at Iowa State University and the lead recipient of Liberty Counsel’s letter, asking why the document was no longer available to the public, but no response has been received as of publication. FBI Referred for Criminal Prosecution

State Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz has found “reasonable grounds” for believing the FBI and the Justice Department violated federal criminal law in their handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation, according to investigative reporter Paul Sperry.

Horowitz, who informed members of Congress Wednesday that his draft report has been completed, has referred his findings to John W. Huber, the U.S. attorney in Utah, for possible criminal prosecution, Sperry said . . .

He also said the report found former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates targeted Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who briefly served as Trump’s national security adviser, in a counter-intelligence investigation one year before Flynn communicated with the Russian ambassador in December 2016 as a Trump transition official.

The trigger, Sperry said, was Flynn sitting at the same table with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a December 2015 event in Moscow . . .

In a letter to members of Congress on Wednesday, Horowitz did not say when the results of the review will be officially released to the FBI, DOJ and congressional committees, Fox News reported. (Read more from “FBI Referred for Criminal Prosecution” HERE)

CBS Doesn’t like Own Mueller Poll, so Fox Has to Report It

. . .In fact, some members of the media have all but joined with elected Democrats and liberals across the country in viewing Mueller as some sort of savior who will prove to be the ultimate downfall of President Donald Trump, uncovering evidence that will lead to his impeachment from office and even indictments and conviction for unspecified crimes.

As such, when CBS News recently conducted a poll with regard to the Mueller investigation, the results ran so counter to the prevailing media narrative of how the public views it that CBS declined to even report the results on its network broadcasts, only posting the results on its website.

The CBS poll found only 44 percent of Americans thought the Mueller investigation was “justified,” while 53 percent said it was “politically motivated.” That is a significant change since the same question was posed in December, when 46 percent believed the investigation was justified and only 48 percent thought it was politically motivated.

Republicans, not surprisingly, believed the investigation was politically motivated by a huge margin of 88-11 percent., while Democrats claimed the probe was justified by a margin of 72-23 percent. . .

Newsbusters made light of the fact that while CBS failed to broadcast the results of its own poll — as it undercuts the pro-Mueller narrative — Fox News picked up the slack and reported the results on its network last week. HUGE: Mueller Reaches Indictment Decision on Trump

By Daily Wire. On Wednesday, a new report revealed that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly informed the legal team representing President Donald Trump that they cannot indict the president, according to a lawyer for the president.

“All they get to do is write a report,” Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani told CNN. “They can’t indict. At least they acknowledged that to us after some battling, they acknowledged that to us.”

Fox News noted that “The precedent that federal prosecutors cannot indict a sitting president is laid out in a 1999 Justice Department memo.” (Read more from “Mueller Reaches Indictment Decision on Trump-Russia Investigation” HERE)

Mueller Told Trump’s Legal Team He Will Not Indict the President, Giuliani Tells Fox News

By Fox News. . .Giuliani, himself a former federal prosecutor and mayor of New York City, also told Fox News that Mueller’s investigators have not responded to five information requests from the president’s team. That has forced Trump’s legal team to push off making a decision about whether the president will sit for an interview with the special counsel — a decision they had hoped to reach by Thursday.

“We’ve had no response from them,” Giuliani told Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” about his interactions with Mueller’s team. “We’re asking … what do they really need to know, what kind of assurances do we have that they’ll get it over with quickly, just like they did for [Hillary] Clinton.” . . .

Giuliani joined Trump’s legal team last month and has repeatedly warned that an in-person interview of the president by the special counsel’s team would constitute a “perjury trap.” Complicating matters, Trump himself has refused to rule out agreeing to an interview with Mueller.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity earlier this month, Giuliani said that the Mueller team had ruled out allowing the Trump team to submit written answers to the special counsel’s questions. Turkey’s Edrogan Calls for Muslim World to Unite Against Israel Due to Gaza Massacre, Jerusalem

By Press TV. Turkey has urged Islamic countries to review their ties with Israel after dozens of Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire on the Gaza border.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told his ruling party in parliament that Ankara would call an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

“Islamic countries should without fail review their relations with Israel,” Premier Yildirim said, adding, “The Islamic world should move as one, with one voice, against this massacre.”

Yildirim said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who currently holds the rotating chairmanship of the body, called the OIC summit on Friday.

Yildirim said that after the summit at 3:00 pm a giant rally would be held at the vast Yenikapi meeting area in Istanbul under the slogan of “Stop the Oppression” to express solidarity with the Palestinians. Did Israel Use Excessive Force at Gaza Protests?

By BBC. Palestinian health officials say more than 100 Palestinians have been killed and 10,000 injured by Israeli troops over the past six weeks at a series of protests along the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel. . .

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel’s military of carrying out “massacres” of unarmed civilians, but Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted its troops acted in self-[defense] and blamed the militant group Hamas, which dominates Gaza, for the deaths. . .

Before the protests began, Israeli officials said soldiers would be permitted under certain rules to fire live ammunition at anyone attempting to damage the border fence, and even against people coming within 300m (985ft) of it – a figure that was reportedly later reduced to 100m.

Despite the warnings, thousands of Palestinians approached the fence during the protests. A number threw stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli soldiers deployed on the Israeli side of the border, and flew kites laden with petrol soaked material intended to start fires on Israeli territory.

Israeli troops responded by firing tear gas, rubber bullets and various types of live ammunition. (Read more from “Did Israel Use Excessive Force at Gaza Protests?” HERE)

American Fertility Rates Fall Well Below Replacement Rate

By IF Studies. The United States just hit a 40-year low in its fertility rate, according to numbers just released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The 2017 provisional estimate of fertility for the entire U.S. indicates about 3.85 million births in 2017 and a total fertility rate of about 1.76 births per women. These are low numbers: births were as high as 4.31 million in 2007, and the total fertility rate was 2.08 kids back then. The United States has experienced a remarkable slump in fertility over the last several years, as I’ve explained elsewhere.

Since 2007, fertility has fallen the most for the youngest women, but in the last year, declines have set in for women in their 30s as well. Fertility declines increasingly seem to be about much more than just postponed fertility, or else these women must be planning to have some very fertile 40s.

At least through 2016, this trend appeared to be mostly driven by changes in marital status. Births to never-married women are down more than births to ever-married women: age-adjusted marital fertility is down 14% since 2007, while age-adjusted never-married fertility is down 21%, as of 2016. Preliminary data from several states suggest these trends are likely to continue in 2017. . .

That’s because the decline in fertility has been far greater among minorities than among non-Hispanic whites. If we take age-specific birth rates from the peak-fertility year of 2007 and apply them to each age cohort in 2008-2016, the most recent complete data, we can create a counterfactual scenario of how many babies would have been born if age-adjusted fertility rates had not fallen after 2007. From 2008 to 2016, the deficit turns out to be between 4.1 and 4.6 million missing babies: basically, an entire year’s worth or more of childbearing vanished. Men in Their 30s Hit by Impotence Epidemic as Half Suffer from Erectile Dysfunction

By The Mirror. Half of men in their 30s struggle to get an erection, studies have shown.

Surprise polling reveals this age group is most likely to struggle keeping it up, with 49% blaming stress and 24% blaming boozing too much. . .

Nearly half (43%) of men aged 18-60 across the UK are suffering impotence, with four in ten men blaming stress, followed by tiredness (36%), anxiety (29%) and boozing too heavily (26%).

Researchers polled 2,000 men for Coop Pharmacy and found largest affected age group of men with erectile dysfunction is those in their thirties, with half (50%) reporting difficulties getting or maintaining an erection.

This compares to 42% in their 40s, 41% in their 50s, and 35% of under 30s. (Read more from “Men in Their 30s Hit by Impotence Epidemic as Half Suffer from Erectile Dysfunction” HERE)

“All the Rage” in Sweden and on the Farm: The Mark of the Beast May Be Closer Than You Think

By Futurism. . .[A] growing number of people — including, for whatever reason, about 3,000 Swedes — are opting for something even more invasive, and arguably practical: a surgically inserted microchip, according to the Associated French Press.

The chip itself essentially acts as a digital keychain. NFC (near-field communication) is a way of sending information wirelessly from a passive chip to a reader, but only when they are about 4 cm (1.6 in) apart (you might have heard of radio frequency identification, or RFID — NFC is a more sophisticated form of it). A chip in the hand can help people do things like sign into the gym, unlock doors to cars and offices, and make credit card payments. Over time, as the technology progresses, the implant will be able to do even more. . .

But now, people who get the implant aren’t counterculture biohackers — they’re the everyman. This is especially true in Sweden, where these chips are so mainstream that, since June 2017, people have been able to buy train tickets with their microchips.

More bodies equipped with microchips doesn’t necessary sound like good news to everybody, however. NFC chips right below the skin give corporations a fair amount of control over you — they could track where you are, how long you take for lunch every day, or how many times you went to the bathroom, if the chip were scanned by a reader. And since most chips are offered through big companies, it’s just a matter of time until this happens. And opting out of this kind of data collection is a lot more convoluted when you’ve got a chip implanted in your bodily tissues. If you want to go off the grid in even the smallest way, you can leave your wallet at home, but removing a microchip requires bit more, uh, effort. Subcutaneous Fitbits? These Cows Are Modeling the Tracking Technology of the Future

By Technology Review. . .These cows are the first to try a device called EmbediVet, created by a startup named Livestock Labs. For now, they’re just going about their normal lives, unintentionally providing data that helps train an artificial neural network. The hope is that in the near future, this AI will help farmers figure out quickly and easily how well cows and other livestock are eating, whether they’re getting sick or about to give birth—things that are typically done today just by watching and waiting but are difficult to spot when you’ve got hundreds or thousands of animals to keep an eye on.

Embedded RFID sensors and other trackers have long been used in livestock, though generally just for identifying each animal. There are already some behavior-tracking wearables out there, such as collars, that use sensors to pinpoint events like cud-chewing and illness. But Livestock Labs claims that once EmbediVet is implanted—currently in a surgical procedure done under local anesthetic—it’s less annoying to the cow than a wearable and, potentially, a more powerful way to collect useful data and spot bovine behavior patterns over time. . .

Within months, Livestock Labs readied a new device—now called EmbediVet—for testing in cattle. Covered in a clear resin, it includes an ARM processor and Bluetooth and long-range radios, as well as a thermometer, accelerometer, and heart-rate monitor and pulse oximeter for measuring heart rate, blood oxygen levels, temperature, and basic activity. It runs on a coin-cell battery the company expects will last for about three years.

Why do it? Rood thinks that this kind of device can be more accurate than a wearable one such as a collar or an anklet, especially when it comes to tracking a metric like body temperature, which correlates with disease, in thick-skinned animals. Russia Finishes Construction of Longest Bridge in Europe, Defies International Community with New Link to Crimea

By Yahoo. President Vladimir Putin drew condemnation from the US, Europe and Ukraine on Tuesday after he opened a new bridge linking mainland Russia and Moscow-annexed Crimea by driving a truck across it to the peninsula.

Putin dressed in jeans and a casual jacket was shown by Russian state television behind the wheel of a construction truck to drive 19 kilometres (12 miles) across the bridge, which links the Taman peninsula in southern Russia to Ukraine’s Crimea, which was annexed by Moscow in 2014.

“I want to sincerely congratulate you with this remarkable, festive and, in the full sense of the word, historic day,” Putin told workers upon arrival on the Crimean side of the bridge.

“In different historical eras, even under the tsar, people were dreaming of building this bridge,” Putin told cheering workers.

He was referring to Russia’s last tsar, Nicholas II, who first proposed such a bridge, but the outbreak of World War I prevented it going ahead. (Read more from “Russia Finishes Construction of Longest Bridge in Europe, Defies International Community with New Link to Crimea” HERE)

Vladimir Putin Celebrated the Controversial Opening of Russia’s Bridge to Crimea by Driving a Truck over It – Without Wearing a Seat Belt

By Business Insider. Russian President Vladimir Putin drove Kamaz truck across a new, controversial bridge to Crimea without wearing a seat belt – which is against the law in Russia, according to a reporter from The Atlantic.

The new bridge from Russia to the annexed peninsula Crimea opened on Tuesday six months ahead of schedule. But several in the Russian media noticed that Putin was driving the truck across the bridge without his seat belt buckled.

Fox News Settles Discrimination Lawsuits

Fox News and its parent company 21st Century Fox said they have reached settlements with 18 former employees of the news channel who had filed lawsuits that included allegations of racial and gender discrimination.

Terms of the settlements weren’t disclosed, but a person familiar with the matter said the cases were settled for around $10 million. There are no nondisclosure agreements as part of the settlements, the person said.

The first suit, filed in March 2017 in New York state court, was brought by two black women who worked in the payroll department at Fox News. They alleged that they were subject to racial slurs and insults by their superior and that they were subjected to a hostile work environment.

Other employees from payroll and accounting subsequently joined the suit, as did Kelly Wright, an on-air personality. Wright argued that discrimination based on his race had kept him from advancing at the network. Wright is leaving the network.

21st Century Fox FOX, +0.96% and News Corp NWSA, +0.63% , the parent of the Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch, share common ownership. (Read more from “Fox News Settles Discrimination Lawsuits” HERE)
