Remember the Dead Palestinian Baby? Turns out She Didn’t Die from Israeli Forces

. . .As evidence of the cruelty of Israeli security forces toward innocent Palestinians in Gaza, the media focused on a dead Palestinian baby. The infant’s tragic death, however, turned into a propaganda win for the terrorist organization.

A prime example of what could easily have been written by the Hamas propaganda department itself was an article in the Los Angeles Times which lamented the death of the 10-month-old baby girl — Layla Ghandour.

But a former journalist for the L.A. and New York Times astutely noted that, buried midway through the blatant piece, it was revealed by a doctor in Gaza that the baby had died from a pre-existing heart condition.

The 16th paragraph of that report read: “A doctor at the hospital where Layla was treated said she had a preexisting heart condition that caused her death. He asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to discuss the child’s medical history.” . . .

The preceding paragraph even cited Israeli military spokesman Ofir Gendelman, who stated without elaboration, “We have evidence casting doubt on the truthfulness of reports about the death of a baby girl in the Gaza Strip.” (Read more from “Remember the Dead Palestinian Baby? Judge: ‘Unlawful’ Destruction of Ballots in Race Wasserman Schultz Won

. . .[Debbie]Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat, may be beloved by family members, but that’s pretty much it. Rank-and-file Democrats detest her for her god-awful handling of the Democratic National Committee’s top role — a position she was forced to resign from after email hacks and numerous scandals. The party’s left fringe believes Wasserman Schultz and her retinue have engaged in pretty sketchy behavior to keep them down.

Now, I know that supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders do indulge in some tinfoil haberdashery from time to time. However, this conspiracy claim appears to have some legitimacy.

See, Florida has some fairly strict “sunshine” laws when it comes to public transparency, and this spills over to elections. So, when Wasserman Schultz faced a difficult primary challenge in 2016 and won with 58 percent of the vote, it was well within the rights of challenger Tim Canova to request a recount of the ballots.

The only problem is that after much stalling, it turns out the ballots had been destroyed. As in, very illegally.

The saga has wound its way through the court system, but a judge ruled Friday that the “elections supervisor in Florida’s second-most populous county broke state and federal law by unlawfully destroying ballots cast in Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s 2016 Democratic primary … in a case brought by the congresswoman’s challenger who wanted to check for voting irregularities,” according to Politico. Dead Victim’s Family Horrified over Smiling Suspect’s Mugshot

Angenette Welk of Ocala, Florida, hit the news this week not because of the crime she committed, but the image she portrayed in her mugshot.

Just before midnight on May 10, Welk failed to hit her brakes when approaching stopped vehicles in front of her on U.S. Highway 27, crashing into two cars. She rear-ended the Hyundai Elantra driven by 18-year-old Shiyanne Kroll with enough force to cause fatal injuries to Kroll’s passenger, Sandra Clarkson. . .

Welk faces charges of DUI, DUI with property damage and DUI with great bodily harm. Upon news of the death of Clarkson, Florida Highway Patrol officials are seeking an upgraded charge of DUI manslaughter.

Keonna Sciacca, Clarkson’s other daughter, said of the tragedy, “It’s definitely wrecked our family forever, not just temporarily, this was a permanent thing that (Welk) did. (I’m) trying to cope with the fact that I won’t see (my mom) walk again, she won’t be home when I get home from work or in the mornings when I get home from work.”

Word on the Street: Trump Is Planning to Cut Planned Parenthood’s Funding

The Trump administration is expected to lay out a rule to cut taxpayer funding of abortion clinics on Friday, as announced by an official who told The Weekly Standard that “The proposal would require a bright line of physical as well as financial separation between Title X programs and any program (or facility) where abortion is performed, supported, or referred to as a method of family planning.”

Under Title X, $260 million in federal dollars is currently dedicated to contraception and “other family planning” initiatives.

NBC News reported that the new rule would force groups like Planned Parenthood to choose between federal funding and providing abortions in the same facilities where they offer additional services.

President of the Susan B. Anthony list, a pro-life group, said, “We thank President Trump for taking action to disentangle taxpayers from the abortion business. This is a major victory which will energize the grassroots as we head into the critical midterm elections.”

The bulk of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding actually comes from Medicaid, and the speculated new rule would not impact that cash flow. But the proposed policy would require that abortions be performed at separate facilities than other services, and by different employees in order to continue to receive federal dollars. Web Comedy Series Wants to ‘Normalize’ Abortion by Making It Funny

. . .The “abortion comedy” comes from Roni Geva and Margaret Katch. The 7-part narrative using real women’s stories plays out at the same clinic . . .

“When we had our abortions, we looked to the media for stories to relate to and found a whole lot of nothing,” the show’s Facebook page says. “So we decided to change the narrative.” . . .

This comedy series on a macabre topic came about after Geva looked back on how “judgey” she once was toward a woman who had had many abortions. That reasoning only makes sense if you, like progressives, also believe that judging people is one of the seven deadly sins. Shocker: Even Leftist Columnist Rips Hamas, Says They Committed ‘an Act of Human Sacrifice’

Appearing on CNN with Anderson Cooper, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who has spent his career attacking the Israeli right wing, astonishingly ripped into Hamas for the violence along the Israeli-Gaza border and the Palestinians who were killed, saying Hamas had committed “an act of human sacrifice.”

Cooper precipitated Friedman’s response by assuming Friedman would buy into the media’s false narrative of the correlation between the opening of the embassy in Jerusalem and the Hamas riots, ignoring that Hamas had been rioting every week for weeks: “Tom, it was striking yesterday to watch members of the Trump Administration celebrating the unveiling of the new embassy and at the same time Palestinians were being killed on the Israeli-Gaza border.”

Shockingly, Friedman ignored Cooper’s attempt and targeted Hamas instead, saying:

You know, the whole thing, Anderson, is just like diplomatic pornography from beginning to end. Let’s start with Hamas and Gaza. I mean, it was an act of human sacrifice. I’m sorry, when you throw thousands of your youth, the flower of your youth against an Israeli fence, supposedly to get into Israel, some of them surrounded by armed Hamas fighters, it was inevitable that a lot of people were gonna get killed. Israel was not going to open the border to them and Hamas knew that, and this was entirely designed by Hamas to distract the attention of the world, not to mention the Middle East.

. . .

Friedman answered, “Absolutely. They’re totally in control. And this is their answer to failed leadership, to turn Gaza into some kind of decent flourishing state, which they could have done. They had the choice to do that before all these blockades began and they chose not to. Watch: Trump Throws down on Media over MS-13 ‘Animals’ Comment

On Thursday, President Donald Trump doubled down on his remark from Wednesday where he referred to violent MS-13 gang members as “animals,” saying that he will always refer to them as animals.

Responding to a reporter who asked him to clarify his “animals” comment, Trump shot back: “Well, it has nothing to do with this meeting. I’m referring, and you know I’m referring, to the MS-13 gangs that are coming in. I was talking about the MS-13.”

“Also, if you look further onto the tape you will see that,” Trump said. “I’m actually surprised you are asking this question. Most people got it right. But I’m saying the MS-13.” . . .

Cozy: CNN Reporter Parties with Stormy Daniels’ Lawyer

. . .CNN prime time host Don Lemon was photographed on Wednesday partying with Stormy Daniels’ obnoxious attorney Michael Avenatti — along with a couple other CNN talking heads.

According to a post on Twitter, Lemon and Avenatti were snapped living it up with CNN political analyst Errol Louis, a New York City journalist and television show host, and Margaret Hoover, a paid political contributor for CNN.

The tweet was first posted by someone named Juanita Scarlett, but was later deleted. She has been identified by Mediaite as the wife of Louis . . .

“Thrilled to have met @MichaelAvenatti at the Sag Harbor soiree of my second favorite favorite on-air journalist @donlemon @errollous @MargaretHoover,” the tweet read.

Trump Just Did Something Amazing with His 1st Quarter Salary

By Associated Press. President Donald Trump is donating his first quarter salary to the Department of Veterans Affairs, as his search continues for a nominee to lead the agency.

Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders presented a check from the president to acting VA secretary Robert Wilkie during the White House briefing on Thursday.

Trump Donates Quarterly Salary to Department of Veterans Affairs

By The Hill. . .White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump’s $100,000 quarterly salary will go toward the VA’s caregiver programs. The president is donating his salary each quarter to “important projects,” she said.

Acting Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie attended Thursday’s press briefing to accept the donation. He said the money will go toward mental health and peer support programs, financial aid and research that will assist individuals who care for veterans.

“The president’s gift underscores his promise to do all he can for vets, which includes supporting those who care for veterans. Not just those of us at VA, but the husbands, the wives, the families and the community caregivers who are out there day in and day out,” Wilkie said.

The VA is currently without a full-time director. Trump fired former VA Secretary David Shulkin in March. He nominated Adm. Ronny Jackson to replace him, but Jackson withdrew last month in the face of allegations of improper behavior. Trump Issues Warning for Kim Jong Un

By The Guardian. Donald Trump has threatened Kim Jong-un with the same fate as Muammar Gaddafi if the North Korean leader “doesn’t make a deal” on his nuclear weapons programme.

The US president issued the threat at the White House when he was asked about the recent suggestion by his national security adviser, John Bolton, that the “Libyan model” be a template for dealing with North Korea at a summit between Trump and Kim planned for 12 June in Singapore.

The model Bolton was referring to was Gaddafi’s agreement in December 2003 to surrender his embryonic nuclear weapons programme, which included allowing his uranium centrifuges to be shipped out to the US.

But Trump appeared to be unaware of that agreement, and interpreted the “Libyan model” to mean the 2011 Nato intervention in Libya in support of an insurrection, which ultimately led to Gaddafi’s murder at the hands of rebels in Tripoli.

“The model, if you look at that model with Gaddafi, that was a total decimation. We went in there to beat him. Now that model would take place if we don’t make a deal, most likely. But if we make a deal, I think Kim Jong-un is going to be very, very happy,” Trump said, suggesting that the regime’s survival could be assured if Kim agreed to disarm. North Korea Summit: Trump Contradicts Bolton on ‘Libya Model’

By BBC. US President Donald Trump has contradicted his own national security adviser, saying the so-called “Libya model” for denuclearisation is not being pursued with North Korea.

The suggestion by John Bolton angered the North, which threatened to pull out of a summit with Mr Trump next month . . .

On the planned summit, Mr Trump said: “Nothing has changed on North Korea that we know of. We have not been told anything.
