House GOP to Vote on Toothless Illegal Alien Resolution Instead of Securing the Border

With weeks to go before the midterm elections and polling showing that the Republicans’ signature achievement of the Trump presidency — tax cuts — are unpopular, Republicans feel the need to act to draw some sort of contrast with Democratic lawmakers. The solution offered by House GOP leadership is to vote on and pass what amounts to a strongly worded letter reprimanding local governments for allowing illegal immigrants to vote.

Breitbart News reports House Republicans are preparing to vote on a resolution authored by Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., that “states that it is the position of the House of Representatives that allowing illegal aliens the right to vote disenfranchises American citizens.”

Here is the text of the resolution:

Recognizing that allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens. Whereas voting is fundamental to a functioning democracy; Whereas the Constitution prohibits discrimination in voting based on race, sex, poll taxes, and age; Whereas it is of paramount importance that the United States maintains the legitimacy of its elections and protects them from interference, including interference from foreign threats and illegal voting; Whereas the Constitution allows States and localities to grant non-citizens the right to vote in non-Federal elections; Whereas the city of San Francisco, California, is allowing non-citizens, including illegal immigrants, to register to vote in school board elections; and Whereas Federal law prohibits non-citizens from voting in elections for Federal office: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives recognizes that allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens.

Matthew Boyle, reporting for Breitbart News, notes that this resolution follows action taken by San Francisco and other cities to open up local voting rights to illegal aliens.

Well, hip hip hooray! Republicans see that liberal cities are allowing illegal immigrants to disenfranchise American voters by canceling their votes with votes from individuals who are not citizens and entered the U.S. in violation of the law, and the GOP is ready to pass a resolution saying that’s bad.

What about passing laws to secure the border and stop illegal immigration? Will the Republicans in Congress vote on funding President Trump’s proposed border wall? Will they enact needed immigration reforms like any of the 25 no-brainer ideas CR’s Daniel Horowitz has proposed?

This is exactly like the missed opportunity in July, where House Republicans voted on a toothless resolution supporting Immigration and Customs Enforcement instead of exposing the Democrats by bringing up a real bill to abolish ICE to a vote. Will Republicans give voters any concrete policies to support in the November midterms?

No, conservatives are expected to vote Republican because they pass toothless resolutions!

What a pathetic waste of time. (For more from the author of “House GOP to Vote on Toothless Illegal Alien Resolution Instead of Securing the Border” please click HERE)

Second Kavanaugh Accuser Steps Forward With Her Story

Brett Kavanaugh’s former classmate at Yale, Deborah Ramirez, stepped forward on Sunday night accusing the Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault.

Ramirez detailed her account of the alleged assault in an exclusive with The New Yorker after spending a week conferring with her attorney and attempting to piece together gaps of the story she can’t remember.

According to Ramirez, she and Kavanaugh were both freshmen at Yale when they both attended a party at Lawrance Hall on-campus. The group of college students sat together in a circle and played a drinking game. Ramirez said she was repeatedly pick to drink and quickly became incoherent. She said one of the young men “pointed a gag plastic penis in her direction.” . . .

From The New Yorker:

A third male student then exposed himself to her. “I remember a penis being in front of my face,” she said. “I knew that’s not what I wanted, even in that state of mind.” She recalled remarking, “That’s not a real penis,” and the other students laughing at her confusion and taunting her, one encouraging her to “kiss it.” She said that she pushed the person away, touching it in the process. Ramirez, who was raised a devout Catholic in Connecticut, said that she was shaken. “I wasn’t going to touch a penis until I was married,” she said. “I was embarrassed and ashamed and humiliated.” She remembers Kavanaugh standing to her right and laughing, pulling up his pants. “Brett was laughing,” she said. “I can still see his face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants.” She recalled another male student shouting about the incident. “Somebody yelled down the hall, ‘Brett Kavanaugh just put his penis in Debbie’s face,’ ” she said. “It was his full name. I don’t think it was just ‘Brett.’ And I remember hearing and being mortified that this was out there.”

Widow Slams Twice Deported Illegal Alien Responsible for Husband’s Death, Prosecutor Denies Problem

In court on Friday, Deborah Monroe, the wife of slain Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe, unleashed her fury on the twice-deported illegal alien responsible for the death of her husband as well as Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson telling the guilty that she was “empty inside” and ridiculing his 16-year jail sentence claiming that justice was not served. Despite the guilty’s previous immigration history, the prosecutor in the case argued that this incident highlights the dangers of drunk driving, not illegal immigration.

Manuel Orrego-Savala, an illegal alien drunk driver, killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson as well as an Uber driver named Jeffrey Monroe in February in the Indianapolis area. According to the Indy Star, he was arrested after “he crashed a Ford F-150 pickup truck into a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of I-70. His blood-alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit.”

While on his drunken joyride, he hit Monroe and Jackson. At his sentencing on Friday, Monroe’s widow declared that Orrego-Savala was “a drunk, a liar, a murderer, and a coward.”

“You didn’t even have the decency to pull his dead body from the road before you ran,” she added. “He was my everything. He was the love of my life…Every time I go by there, I see his blood on the road..I’m empty inside.” . . .

Despite the fact that Orrego-Savala was aware he was not allowed in the country, Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry released a statement saying, “The tragic loss of Edwin Jackson and Jeffery Monroe drew national attention, but not for the appropriate reasons. Their deaths should serve as a stark reminder to the unnecessary fatal consequences that can result from intoxicated driving.” (Read more from “Widow Slams Twice Deported Illegal Alien Responsible for Husband’s Death, Prosecutor Denies Problem” HERE)

Ben and Jerry Targets Seven Congressional Districts With a Spoonful of Sugar

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, the founders of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, launched a new campaign aimed at flipping seven Congressional districts across the country. The effort, known as “Ben and Jerry (the people, not the corporation) Take Back Congress, Flavor by Flavor,” is a contest the two launched on MoveOn.org.

“We’re teaming up with MoveOn to help 7 of the best progressive candidates running for Congress. We need a Democratic majority to check President Trump’s unrestrained power,” the contest on MoveOn.org said. “And we also need to send progressive champions to Congress who will fix our health care system with Medicare for All, protect clean air and water, and get big money out of politics.”

Average Americans have the opportunity to create seven flavors and names that “capture the essence of what each candidate stands for.”

The duo plans to make a limited, homemade batch of the winning flavors and raffle off the pints to supporters, similar to what they did for Bernie Sanders during the 2016 election, POLITICO reported.

The seven chosen candidates include:
• Jess King who’s challenging Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11)
• Ammar Campa-Najjar, who’s challenging Rep. Duncan Hunter (CA-50)
• Lauren Underwood, who’s challenging Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14)
• Aftab Pureval, who’s challenging Rep. Steve Chabot (OH-01)
• J.D. Scholten, who’s challenging Rep. Steve King in (IA-04)
• James Thompson, who’s challenging Rep. Ron Estes (KS-04)
• Stephany Rose Spaulding, who’s challenging Rep. Doug Lamborn (CO-05)

Bombshell: Rosenstein Conspired to Wiretap Trump to Invoke 25th Amendment?

By Fox News. The Trump administration was rocked Friday afternoon by a bombshell report saying Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last year suggested secretly recording President Trump to expose chaos in the White House and enlisting Cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.

Rosenstein adamantly denied the accusations.

“The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” he said in a statement to Fox News. “I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.” . . .

But the Times report is sure to roil a White House already suspicious of some elements within the DOJ and FBI, as Trump complains regularly about the Russia probe he calls a “witch hunt.” Rosenstein oversees that probe.

“I have requested that the Judiciary Committee convene hearings with Mr. Rosenstein, and others who are alleged to have been in the room at the time, in order to ascertain the truth,” said a ststement fromk Rep. Matt Gaetzx, R-Fla., on Friday night. “Needless to say, if these inflammatory and disturbing claims are true, they constitute grounds for Mr. Rosenstein’s immediate removal.” (Read more from “Bombshell: Rosenstein Conspired to Wiretap Trump to Invoke 25th Amendment?” HERE)

Trump Allies Want Rod Rosenstein Fired After Reports He Discussed Removing the President

By USA Today. Allies of President Donald Trump are calling for the firing of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein after reports surfaced that he discussed invoking the 25th Amendment and suggested wearing a wire during encounters with the president.

Rosenstein, who oversees the special counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, has been in danger of firing for months. House Republicans filed articles of impeachment against him in July. Reports continue to mount that Trump is considering his ouster.

The calls for Rosenstein’s firing appeared to increase at the same time special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has picked up speed and took out several in the president’s circle with indictments, guilty pleas or cooperation agreements. Rosenstein was given charge of the Mueller’s investigation after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself because he served as an adviser to the Trump campaign.

The New York Times report was met with an unusual welcome by Trump supporters. Some Republican members of Congress and hosts on Fox News pointed to the article as a rationale to further look into the claims or fire Rosenstein.

The Hit Job on Brett Kavanaugh: You Can’t Make This Stuff up

I had intended to write, this week, about an egregiously stupid and poorly written Nevada law which was signed twice by a governor who used to be a wannabe federal judge.

But allegations about a real federal judge — as opposed to a former wannabe — became public as a Democrat hit job over the weekend, and what I originally intended will have to wait until next week.

Judge Brett Kavanaugh went through four days of intense hearings where the Democratic Party threw everything at him — from pop-up astroturf demonstrators in the hearing room to questions no Supreme Court nominee should have to listen to much less answer — and a vote was scheduled for Thursday.

That was derailed when a clearly unhinged Sen. Dianne Feinstein sent a letter she had been sitting on for at least three months from a woman who wanted to remain anonymous saying that Kavanaugh had attempted to rape her 36 years ago at a high school party.

She didn’t report it at the time.

Seriously?

I was in Tulsa when Anita Hill — who used to teach at Oral Roberts University — made ridicules charges against Justice Clarence Thomas at his confirmation hearings.

She was a lightweight then and is a self-professed victim today. (Remember her allegation that now Justice Thomas asked her, “Who has put pubic hair on my Coke?”)

At least her allegations were only 10 years old.

Christine Blasey Ford waited 36 years to write an anonymous letter to a member of the House who forwarded the letter three months ago to Sen. Feinstein, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee. She’s a psychology professor at Palo Alto University who “discovered” the “repressed memories” in couples therapy, allegedly 30 years after the high school incident she “recalled.”

It’s not even a good episode of “Law & Order.” Where are Sam Waterston and Fred Dalton Thompson when you need them?

And the reaction of the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee is also nuts.

They postponed the vote so Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, could testify next week — if she wanted. Turns out, her showboat lawyer is demanding an FBI investigation before she’ll testify. If Republicans have any spine at all, that won’t happen.

Judge Kavanaugh wants to testify to clear his name.

The president wants him to as well — and let’s stop kidding each other — that is the real reason the Democratic Party is so unhinged. Kavanaugh isn’t the target. Trump is the target.

Keep in mind that Kavanaugh has been through six — yes six — FBI background checks in his career. Not a whiff of any impropriety came up. The Democrats were so desperate that they pointed out that Kavanaugh spent a lot of money on Washington Nationals baseball tickets. That’s only a lapse of judgment if you are a Mets fan.

It’s not like he’s Harvey Weinstein or Les Moonves with a judicial casting couch.

He’s a family man with two young daughters and he’s being accused by a woman of something which allegedly happened 36 years ago. Her details are vague and inconsistent. And she is a Democrat activist. Further, her parents lost a foreclosure suit in which Judge Kavanaugh’s mother was the presiding judge.

This is an obscene abuse of the process from a party which specializes in the abuse of any process the opposition party is in favor of.

This is the exact reason the American people made Donald Trump President. And the longer it goes on, the deeper the Democratic Party is digging its grave. (For more from the author of “The Hit Job on Brett Kavanaugh: You Can’t Make This Stuff up” please click HERE)

Watch: CNN Interview Goes Bad as Ex-FBI Asst. Director Savages Ford Accusations

A CNN interview on Wednesday with former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker didn’t work out quite the way the network was probably hoping after Swecker said the recent accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh would not hold up in court.

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin asked Swecker a series of questions regarding the FBI’s involvement with the accusations of sexual assault made by California university professor Christine Blasey Ford against Kavanaugh. . .

Swecker confirmed during the CNN interview that the FBI won’t handle the case.

“The FBI has no independent jurisdiction to open up a stand-alone investigation of rape allegations or assault allegations that may have taken place 36 years ago,” Swecker said. “That’s a local crime. Unless it involves a federal official or on federal land, or has some federal nexus, there’s just no jurisdiction to do it.”

“There just can’t be any forensic evidence. I would be shocked if they brought a garment forward that might have DNA or something like that,” Swecker said.

Swecker went on to say that the evidence would be “strictly interviews” of the alleged victim, the alleged perpetrator, anyone else who might have been at the party, her therapist or anyone else she may have confided in about the incident. NYT Misleads Again – The U.S. Did Not ‘Lose’ 1,500 Children

The troubling headline in Tuesday’s edition of The New York Times reads, “U.S. Loses Track of Another 1,500 Migrant Children, Investigators Find.”

The opening paragraph paints a picture of an incompetent and uncaring government. “The Trump administration is unable to account for the whereabouts of nearly 1,500 migrant children who illegally entered the United States alone this year and were placed with sponsors after leaving federal shelters, according to congressional findings released on Tuesday,” the story reads. . .

Interestingly, the author of the piece made this clarification on social media, similar to something mentioned much later in the article itself. It is significantly different from the claim made in the headline and the first paragraph of the article, however.

. . .

The newspaper spoke with Caitlin Oakley, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services, who explained how things work and how the numbers came about.

“As communicated to members of Congress multiple times, these children are not ‘lost,’” Oakley told The Times. “Their sponsors — who are usually parents or family members and in all cases have been vetted for criminality and ability to provide for them — simply did not respond or could not be reached when this voluntary call was made.” (Read more from “NYT Misleads Again – The U.S. Did Not ‘Lose’ 1,500 Children” HERE)

Family of Teen Who Murdered American-Israeli to Receive Monthly Payment From Palestinian Authority

The family of a Palestinian teenager who killed a U.S.-Israeli citizen will be paid almost $400 a month by The Palestinian Authority, the Times of Israel reported.

On Sunday, Ari Fuld, 45, was stabbed to death outside of a West Bank shopping mall. Khalil Jabarin, 17, was arrested after Fuld was able to shoot and wound him.

The grandson of a Holocaust survivor, Fuld was a father of four and served in Lebanon as an IDF soldier.

During a chapel service, Fuld’s brother Moshe called him a hero.

“Who else could manage upon sustaining a fatal (stabbing) injury, to draw his pistol, jump a fence and shoot his attacker to make sure that his attacker would not hurt anyone else; only my brother, only my brother,” Moshe said.

“If there is one word to describe my brother, it was a hero.”

The Palestinian Authority denied an Israeli TV report that said the PA had already sent money to the killer’s family but confirmed that once all the paperwork is completed, money will start to flow.

Prisoner Affairs’ Commission spokesman Hassan Abd Rabbo said that the authority, which gives money to the families of Palestinians held for crimes in Israel, usually needs a few weeks to process paperwork.

“We are not bashful or secretive about our support for our prisoners,” he said. “The (Jabarin) family would be eligible to receive a monthly salary of NIS 1,400 ($390), if their son is not freed by Israel and it completes all the necessary documents.”

That amount will increase the longer Jabarin is held by Israel, he said.

Earlier this month, U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman said the way the Palestinian Authority spends money is one reason the U.S. is leery of giving it more aid, the Times of Israel reported.

“Since 1994, the United States has thrown more than $10 billion in humanitarian aid to the Palestinians,” Friedman said.

“Without minimizing the importance of medical treatment and quality education for children — and we don’t minimize that, not even for a minute — we found that these expenditures were bringing the region no closer to peace or stability, not even by a millimeter,” he said.

“To spend hard-earned taxpayer dollars to fund stipends to terrorists and their families, to expend funds to perpetuate rather than to mitigate refugee status, and to finance hate-filled textbooks — I ask you, how does that provide value to the United States or the region?” he added.

Friedman took aim at the Palestinian Authority on Twitter, calling its practicing of paying murderers and criminals “unconscionable.”

“The Palestinian Prisoner Affairs Commission has confirmed that the family of the terrorist who murdered Ari Fuld is ‘eligible to receive a monthly salary’ as compensation for his incarceration. This practice is unconscionable and must stop if there is to be any hope for peace,” he tweeted.

Israel adopted the “Pay for Slay” law which seeks to discourage the practice by deducting “the amount of money that the Palestinian Authority gives to terrorists and their families from the taxes and tariffs Israel collects for the authority,” according to the Jerusalem Post.

“An effective war on terror is also waged via the pocketbooks of the terrorists and their families,” Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said. (For more from the author of “Family of Teen Who Murdered American-Israeli to Receive Monthly Payment From Palestinian Authority” please click HERE)

Union Leader Campaigning for Democrat: ‘Vote Early, Vote Often, Whatever You Can Get Away With’

An Illinois union leader campaigning for the state’s Democratic gubernatorial nominee was caught on video encouraging a crowd to “vote early, vote often, whatever you can get away with.”

Totsy Bailey, president of Local 439 Steamfitters/Pipefitters Union, told those gathered at the Caseyville rally Saturday that they have a “great candidate for governor” in JB Pritzker, KMOV-TV reported. Pritzker is running against incumbent Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner.

“He’s gonna win. He’s gonna win big,” Bailey said of Pritzker. “But he won’t win if we do not get out and vote. We need to early vote. Like I say, we can play East St. Louis route … vote early, vote often, whatever you can get away with. I shouldn’t say that, but I really don’t care.” . . .

“Voting is no joking matter, particularly in an election with so much at stake,” [spokeswoman] Abudayyeh told the station. “Illinois can’t afford another four years of failure from Bruce Rauner, and JB is proud to be running on real plans to get Illinois back on track. Whether during early voting starting September 27th or on Election Day, JB encourages all Illinoisans who are able to exercise their right to vote.”
