Bernie Loves to Cite Sweden, but Their Former PM Just Smacked Him Down

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) loves to cite Sweden as an example of the socialism he advocates for, but he likely didn’t appreciate the slap down he received from former Swedish prime minister over his love of communist Russia.

Carl Bildt tweeted a scathing sarcastic remark with a video of the Socialist Democrat.

“Bernie Sanders was lucky to be able to get to the Soviet Union in 1988 and praise all its stunning socialist achievements before the entire system and empire collapsed under the weight of its own spectacular failures,” Bildt tweeted. . .

“I think it’s also fair to point out that when we were in Moscow for example,” he said in the video, “I think most of the people here also were extremely impressed by their public transportation system, the stations themselves were absolutely beautiful, including many works of art, chandeliers that were very very beautiful. It was a very very effective system.

“Also I was impressed by the youth programs that they have, their palaces of culture for the young people,” he continued. “A whole variety of programs for the young people, and cultural programs which go far beyond what we do in this country.
