Cummings Threatens to Hold DOJ Official in Contempt of Congress If He Doesn’t Testify About Citizenship Question

House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) warned Attorney General William Barr in a letter Thursday that if DOJ official John Gore doesn’t obey his subpoena and testify before the panel, they are prepared to hold him in contempt of Congress. The DOJ had previously informed Cummings that Gore will not appear unless he’s allowed to have an agency lawyer by his side.

“The Committee expects Mr. Gore to testify in accordance with the Committee’s lawful subpoena and the Committee’s rules,” Cummings wrote. “If Mr. Gore fails to comply with the subpoena, the Committee will consider him to be in contempt of Congress.”

Cummings indicated that the committee wants to glean information from Gore about the citizenship question that was added to the 2020 census under the direction of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

The House Oversight Committee grilled Ross last month about the change, which he defended. Democrats like Rep. Jackie Speier (CA) asserted that Ross’s voting rights justification “was just a cynical pretext to trample on the rights of immigrants.” California was among the coalition of 17 states that sued the Commerce Department over the census change.

Conservative lawmakers, as you can imagine, have a whole different perspective. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) came out with a report today accusing Democrats of “fear mongering” and added that the campaign Cummings is leading against the citizenship question is a “partisan investigation.” (Read more from “Cummings Threatens to Hold DOJ Official in Contempt of Congress If He Doesn’t Testify About Citizenship Question” HERE)

Governor Signs Historical Pro-Life Bill

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) gave a victory to the pro-life movement Thursday by signing one of the strictest pro-life bills in the nation.

“The essential function of government is to protect the most vulnerable among us,” DeWine said before signing the bill. “Those who do not have a voice. Government’s role should be to protect life from the beginning to the end. To protect those who cannot protect themselves, such as the elderly, the unborn, those who are sick, those who have a disability, those who have a mental illness or an addiction. The signing of this bill today is consistent with that respect for life and the imperative to protect those who cannot protect themselves.”

The Human Rights and Heartbeat Protection Act makes it illegal for women to receive abortions after the first heartbeat is detected. According to The Hill, a fetal heartbeat can occur between eight and ten weeks. The bill was able to pass in the state’s House and Senate. Both have GOP control. . .

ACLU of Ohio also took issue with the governor approving the bill and announced on its website that it would be filing a lawsuit against the measure.

“The ACLU will argue that the banning of abortion at six weeks, or with the detection of a fetal heartbeat, is a direct violation of the Constitution and a complete undermining of Roe v. Wade,” the ACLU wrote. “Similar lawsuits have been filed against so-called “heartbeat bills” in four other states (Iowa, Kentucky, Arkansas, and North Dakota) and the courts have struck all of the abortion bans down as unconstitutional.” (Read more from “Governor Signs Historical Pro-Life Bill” HERE)

Mainstream Media Outlets Change Their Tune on Border Crisis Amid Illegal Immigration Surge

Months after repeatedly dismissing and mocking President Trump’s claim of a national emergency at the Southern U.S. border, the mainstream media are grappling with reality, with no less than The New York Times declaring the border crisis at “breaking point.”

Yet as recently as February, a New York Times fact-checker of Trump’s State of the Union speech tweeted: “President Trump described illegal border crossings as a ‘urgent national crisis.’ This is false.” . . .

Fast forward, the same media outlets are now scrambling to accurately portray the border crisis, no longer fearing to quote top officials and their data, and declare that the southern border is at a “breaking point” amid a surge in the number of illegal immigrant crossings. . .

“The U.S. Immigration System May Have Reached a Breaking Point,” a New York Times story read Wednesday, detailing the unprecedented problems at the border. . .

This is a follow-up to another story in the Times from last month titled “Border at ‘Breaking Point’ as More Than 76,000 Unauthorized Migrants Cross in a Month” that cited the data that over 76,000 migrants crossed the border without authorization in February, the 11-year-high that put a strain on the border patrol resources. Ocasio-Cortez Defends Omar’s 9/11 Comments by Mocking War Hero Dan Crenshaw

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) rushed to the defense of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Thursday after a clip of Omar went viral this week that showed her describing the 9/11 terrorist attacks as “some people did something.”

Ocasio-Cortez defended Omar by making multiple false claims and by mocking Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), who called out Omar for trivializing the 9/11 terror attacks.

The 29-year-old former bartender attacked Crenshaw, a decorated war hero, by suggesting that he was not fighting for the families of 9/11 victims and saying that he should “go do something” about terrorism. . .

Nothing that the New York Post or Crenshaw said used “completely out-of-context quotes” from Omar, they quoted her directly. . .

Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that Crenshaw refuses to support the bill is also a lie. The bill has not even been voted on in the House and just because Crenshaw is not a cosponsor does not prevent him from voting in favor of the bill when a vote is held on it. Why Did Trump Allow Julian Assange’s Arrest?

After praising WikiLeaks at dozens of events well over a hundred times during the 2016 election, it now appears that Trump has turned on Assange, after requesting that Britain’s intelligence services arrest him this morning.

Critics immediately hammered the move, with Edward Snowden claiming that this is a “dark moment for press freedom”:

Images of Ecuador’s ambassador inviting the UK’s secret police into the embassy to drag a publisher of–like it or not–award-winning journalism out of the building are going to end up in the history books. Assange’s critics may cheer, but this is a dark moment for press freedom.

After years of harboring Julian Assange, Ecaudor’s new moderate president apparently decided that closer ties to the United States were more important than Assange and press freedom.

The world is getting weirder and weirder following the Mueller Report’s surprise exoneration of President Trump. After praising Assange and Wikileaks over the years, some are wondering if this arrest signals that President Trump made a deal with the Deep State. Why did Trump allow his arrest? Please comment below.

What Happened to Mueller’s Middle East Indictments?

Russia collusion was said to be just phase one of the Trump campaign and administration’s misdeeds. The Middle East was supposed to be phase two. Just as phase one never produced anything involving collusion, phase two never occurred either.

In December 2018, the Daily Beast set off a media and internet firestorm reporting on “Phase Two: The Middle East connection,” which was hyped as the next step in Mueller’s expansive probe.

“Special counsel Robert Mueller’s office is preparing to reveal to the public a different side of his investigation. In court filings that are set to drop in early 2019, prosecutors will begin to unveil Middle Eastern countries’ attempts to influence American politics,” Daily Beast reporter Banco writes, citing “three sources familiar with this side of the probe.”

“In other words, the ‘Russia investigation’ is set to go global,” she continues.

That story set a narrative in motion: The Russia investigation may or may not pan out, but now Mueller was closing in on “phase two” of his operation. Trump-Russia may have failed, but there was enough proof for Trump-UAE, Trump-Saudi Arabia, and Trump-Israel, and Mueller was on the brink of delivering the goods on Middle East conclusion.

Months passed, and finally the Mueller probe came to a close. There was no Russian collusion or any collusion. As Attorney General William Barr confirmed, citing Mueller’s conclusions, there was no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia or any other nation. Those “court filings” cited by the Daily Beast never emerged, and no evidence that Middle Eastern nations attempted to interfere in the 2016 election ever materialized.

In the end, Mueller’s team issued zero indictments involving Middle East collusion, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t try to hunt for election interference halfway across the world. Throughout 2018, reports surfaced that the special counsel was launching separate probes into the activities of U.S. allies such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.

According to Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos, Mueller’s team threatened him with prosecution for allegedly acting as an unregistered foreign agent of Israel, even though no evidence has emerged to sustain such a bombastic accusation. Mueller launched a separate probe scrutinizing Jared Kushner’s contacts with Middle East leaders, but nothing ever came of it. Team Mueller investigated collusion between a UAE lobbyist and the Trump campaign. No collusion was found.

At the time, it appeared objectively transparent that Mueller was engaging in a wild goose chase searching for collusion between Trump and Middle Eastern nations.

At Conservative Review, I frequently called into question Robert Mueller’s use of taxpayer funds to chase down “questionable foreign policy leads” that appeared to be sourced to foreign nations and their lobbyists with the intent to damage the reputations of the three aforementioned sovereign nations.

Thanks to two Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) disclosures, I found that before and after the New York Times published its Mueller-related Middle East stories, its reporters had frequent contact and in-person meetings with lobbyists for Qatar. Those disclosures show that the reporters wrote about the topics that were discussed in those meetings. Neither of the two publications disclosed in their reporting that they had regular contact with the lobbyists. In one piece, the New York Times reported that it received its information from an incredibly anonymous source who is “someone critical of the Emirati influence in Washington.”

Unless Mueller had obtained secret evidence to the contrary, there seemed to be no particular basis for the Middle East collusion hunt, but that didn’t stop Mueller from investigating or mainstream publications from continuing to churn out supposed “evidence” for Middle East collusion. Yet the Daily Beast story insisted that Mueller had found something and that he was close to revealing that information to the Department of Justice.

In the end, Mueller found nothing to corroborate Middle East collusion, just as he found nothing to corroborate Russian collusion. And the court filings, referrals, and indictments promised by the Daily Beast never saw the light of day. However, like a hit-and-run attack, the Mueller probe delivered reputational damage and created false, weaponized media narratives that seemed crafted with the intent of damaging the reputation of our regional allies.

One key question remains: Where did Mueller get all of his bad intelligence from? Who will investigate the investigators? Unfortunately, the legacy media, which worked in tandem with Team Mueller and the Obama Intelligence Community to promulgate the collusion hoax, doesn’t seem up to the task. ‘Epic Hearing’ Over Legislation That Would Criminalize Abortion Gets Emotional

Legislators in Texas heard emotional testimony Monday about a groundbreaking new bill that would criminalize abortion across the Lone Star State. The hearing, held before the House Judiciary Committee, did not wrap up until close to 3 a.m. Tuesday, after over eight hours of testimony.

For the first time in the state’s history, Texas lawmakers are considering legislation that would completely outlaw abortion. The historic bill would also subject physicians and mothers participating in abortive procedures to criminal prosecution.

House Bill 896, known as the “Abolition of Abortion in Texas Act,” was originally authored by Arlington Rep. Tony Tinderholt (R.) The controversial legislation would serve to criminalize abortion and classify it as a homicide, meaning that a mother who has an abortion could potentially receive the death penalty.

“A living human child,” the bill reads, “from the moment of fertilization on fusion of a human spermatozoon with a human ovum, is entitled to the same rights, powers, and privileges as are secured or granted by the laws of this state to any other human child.”

The pro-life legislation appears to be largely unprecedented in the post Roe v. Wade era. “From what I can tell, this is the first legislative hearing since 1973 on this topic,” said committee member Rep. Matt Kraus just before Monday’s hearing got underway. House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff May Be No More

Rep. Matt Gaetez (R-FL) on Wednesday filed a resolution to remove House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) from the Committee and revoke his security clearance. . .

“I have filed legislation today, sent to the House, that Adam Schiff needs to be removed from the Intelligence Committee, because how are the rest of us supposed to be able to rely on a man, who you just showed, lied to the American people when he said that there was not spying? Or when he lied and said that there was actual evidence of collusion or clear evidence of collusion?” Gaetz began. . .

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to Schiff. After all, he spent the last two years pushing the collusion story. And, even after Attorney General William Barr said no collusion took place between the Trump campaign and Russia, Schiff still continues to push the collusion theory. In fact, he wants even more investigations and testimony because he didn’t like the results.

Hillary Opened Her Mouth About MAGA and White Nationalism…and Crashed Right Into a Wall

This is getting absolutely embarrassing, but Hillary Clinton does have a lot of free time on her hands. She went on a whine tour after her shocking 2016 loss. She set up a super PAC to help Democrats and fight the agenda of President Donald J. Trump. She may not be running again in 2020, but she’s still taking her swings at the Trump administration. They’re all so tiring, though they’re aimed at keeping the left-wingers rabid. A popular one is that the slogan “Make America Great Again” is a white nationalist war cry. It’s not. She even tweeted an article from The Huffington Post to make her point:

Okay, first of all, Bissonette is a crazy person. Second, is this nuts we’ve become? It’s a great slogan—and both Democrats and Republicans have used it. Ronald Reagan used it, as did Bill Clinton, which is why Hillary probably should’ve just shut up about this whole matter. Slick Willy used it a lot during his political career. Is he a racist, a far right-winger, or an extremist? Is he a white nationalist? No. Bill Clinton is often wrong, but he’s no white nationalist. Trump derangement syndrome has become so bad that anything related to the man is seen as a sign that this small, whacko fringe slice that happen to wear MAGA hats are mainstream. They’re not. They’re still losers and they’re still in the basement of politics. And they’re going to stay there. A huge slice of Democrats were members of the Ku Klux Klan. When are they going to be reamed out for backing a group that’s actually a white supremacist organization? And just like these loony toon groups, they’re small. The Klan’s membership today is less than 10,000. Everyone freak out! (Read more from “Hillary Opened Her Mouth About MAGA and White Nationalism…and Crashed Right Into a Wall” HERE)

Kris Kobach’s Legal Expertise Offers Trump Homeland Security Solution

President Trump is decrying federal judges who have routinely blocked his immigration reform agenda, as former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is considered for the top position at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) precisely for his longtime legal expertise.

During conversations with the media on Tuesday, Trump slammed a recent decision by U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg in San Francisco, California that blocks the administration’s implementation of the “Remain in Mexico” policy whereby border crossers and illegal aliens seeking asylum in the country are returned to Mexico until their court hearings.

“We have a judge that just ruled, incredibly, that he doesn’t want people staying in Mexico,” Trump said in the Oval Office. “Figure that one out. Nobody can believe these decisions we’re getting from the 9th Circuit. It’s a disgrace.”

Those frustrations with pro-migration attorneys and activist judges, insiders tell Breitbart News, are precisely the reason Kobach is uniquely fit to lead DHS considering his background of legal expertise on immigration dating back to the early days of President George W. Bush’s administration. . .

Kobach, they assert, can carry out the president’s initiatives, as he has championed mainstream immigration reforms like E-Verify, an Entry/Exit system, and a sustainable immigration court process. (Read more from “Kris Kobach’s Legal Expertise Offers Trump Homeland Security Solution” HERE)
