‘You Don’t Get More Politically Connected’: Participants in Securities Fraud Scam Touted Links to Hunter Biden

Participants in a multi-million dollar scheme to defraud an American Indian tribe touted links to Hunter Biden and his business associate, Devon Archer, according to court documents the Daily Caller News Foundation reviewed.

Biden is not accused of wrongdoing in the case, which centered on a fraudulent $60 million bond offering involving the Wakpamni Lake Community Association, an affiliate of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. But the documents, reported here for the first time, shed light on how associates saw Biden during a period when his father, Joe Biden, served as vice president.

“Hunter Biden works for [Archer]. So we’ve got the top level politicos with us. All of my guys, is as top tier as it gets,” Bevan Cooney, who a jury convicted in the Wakpamni scam, said in a secretly recorded phone call that is cited in exhibits that Archer’s defense team produced during an appeal of his conviction in the case.

“Well, you know — but you see that this is who we’re doing business with? You don’t get more politically connected and make people more comfortable than that,” Cooney also said in the phone conversation.

Cooney, who a judge sentenced to 30 months in prison on July 31, was a close associate of Jason Galanis, who prosecutors described as the “mastermind” of the bond ripoff. Trump Resort Will No Longer Host G7 Summit

President Trump announced Saturday night that the Trump National Doral in Miami will no longer host the G7 summit in 2020. The White House has defended the decision to hold the summit at the Trump National Doral in Miami in recent days.

On Twitter, the president announced the decision to remove his own resort from consideration, despite stating previously that he was willing to host the summit at no profit for the resort, and possibly at no cost to the United States.

No Surprise: Hillary Drops out of a Speaking Engagement for a Really Dumb Reason

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday backed out of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington, D.C. because Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard and former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen are also scheduled to speak, Fox News reported. Her team, however, said it was because of “scheduling conflicts.”

The announcement comes after a heated back-and-forth between Clinton and Gabbard. During a podcast interview on Friday, Clinton said Gabbard was a “Russian asset” who is being groomed to launch a third party campaign as a means of disrupting the 2020 election.

When Gabbard received word of the interview, she took to Twitter to respond, saying Clinton is “the queen of warmongers” and the “embodiment of corruption.” Gabbard also explained the former Secretary of State has it out for her because her foreign policy is the opposite of Clinton’s.

A person close to Clinton told Slate the former Secretary of State decided to drop out after hearing Nielsen is also on the schedule.

“We work with a lot of activists who are trying to do their best to improve this horrible situation down at the border,” the person said, citing Clinton’s support for asylum seekers. “At the end of the day, it’s an easy decision. Tragic Training Accident Takes the Lives of Three Servicemen

Three U.S. Army soldiers were killed and another three were injured at Fort Stewart, Georgia, on Sunday morning in what Army officials are calling a “training accident.”

According to Fox News, the six soldiers — who were members of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team — were riding in or on a Bradley fighting vehicle when it was involved in an accident of an unspecified nature, which led to the deaths and injuries. Three soldiers were pronounced dead at the scene, while another three were taken to Winn Army Community Hospital for further treatment. . .

The Army has not yet released the names of the deceased soldiers, but a statement from the Army indicates that they will do so after next-of-kin have been notified.

In a statement released to WSAV-TV, Maj. Gen. Tony Aguto, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division, said, “Today is a heartbreaking day for the 3rd Infantry Division, and the entire Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield community, as we are all devastated after a training accident this morning on the Fort Stewart Training Area. We are extremely saddened by the loss of three Dogface Soldiers, and injuries to three more. Hillary’s ‘Russia’ Attack Boosts Support for Tulsi Gabbard

By Fox News. Speaking directly to the camera in a video message posted on social media on Sunday, 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard suggested that Hillary Clinton recently “smeared” her as a “Russian asset” as payback for Gabbard’s defiance of the party establishment in 2016.

“If they can falsely portray me as a traitor, then they can do it to anyone — and in fact, that’s exactly the message they want to get across to you,” Gabbard, a Democrat, said in the video.

“If you stand up to Hillary and the party power brokers — if you stand up to the rich and powerful elite and the war machine, they will destroy you and discredit your message. But, here is the truth: They will not intimidate us. They will not silence us.”

The post ratcheted up an already escalating feud that has rocked the presidential primary. Several candidates, including Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Yang and Marianne Williamson, have criticized Clinton’s unfounded suggestion that Russians have been “grooming” Gabbard to be a third-party spoiler in the race.

Now the Deep State Is Calling Trump’s Attorney a “National Security Threat”

Rudy Giuliani’s no good, very bad month keeps getting worse. Just days after two of his clients and business partners were arrested and charged with violating federal campaign finance laws, reports started surfacing that Giuliani himself was the subject of an investigation for possible violations of federal lobbying laws. But according to Wednesday report from CNN, the scope of the federal probe into Giuliani’s foreign entanglements is far broader than initial reports revealed, and includes a counterintelligence investigation.

The counterintelligence facet of the investigation into the president’s personal attorney is reportedly exploring whether a foreign influence campaign attempted to use Giuliani’s business and political connections to gain influence over U.S. policy in the White House.

According to CNN Legal and National Security Analyst, attorney and former FBI special agent Asha Rangappa, the existence of a counterintelligence investigation means the FBI believes Giuliani “may pose a national security threat to the United States.”

Unlike typical criminal probes, counterintel investigations are not predicated on the mere suspicion of unlawful conduct, Rangappa explained. Preliminary counterintel inquiries generally require some verifiable contact with persons linked to foreign intelligence, are kept secret, and must be closed within six months unless an actual threat is identified. Where a threat is identified, however, a preliminary inquiry may escalate into a full investigation that can continue indefinitely.

“Based on reports that the FBI was questioning people about Giuliano’s counterintelligence related issues as far back as Feb/Mar, an ongoing investigation would mean that this is a ‘Full’ rather than ‘Preliminary” Investigation,’ Rangappa wrote Wednesday. WATCH: Trump Brands Romney a ‘Democrat Secret Asset’

President Donald Trump slammed Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) as a “Democrat secret asset” who attempted to “infiltrate” his administration as secretary of state following the 2016 election in a video shared to Twitter Friday evening.

In the one-minute video, the narrator states Romney’s cover was “blown,” and he was “exposed by news reports as a Democrat secret asset.” The video then shows highlights of the Utah Republican’s 2012 presidential campaign defeat, following by clips of the president’s successful bid in 2016. President-Elect Trump briefly considered Romney for the role of secretary of state, but ultimatly selected Exxon Mobile CEO Rex Tillerson for the high-profile post.

The video’s release comes as Romney, a longtime Trump critic, has criticized the president’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria and his suggestion for China and Ukraine to investigate allegations of corruption against former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden. . .

Claim: Turkish Forces Immediately Violated Ceasefire Agreement

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) reported on Friday morning that Turkish forces violated the five-day ceasefire agreement announced on Thursday afternoon almost immediately, as Turkish-allied ground forces continued to attack the town of Ras al-Ain with Turkish air and artillery support.

“Despite the agreement to halt the fighting, air and artillery attacks continue to target the positions of fighters, civilian settlements, and the hospital in Serekaniye/Ras al-Ain,” said SDF spokesman Mustafa Bali, using both the Kurdish and Arabic names of the town. . .

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights counted 7 civilians killed plus at least 21 injured by Turkish airstrikes and warned 38 injured people are trapped in an area under siege by Turkish proxies.

Organizers of a civilian relief convoy attempting to reach Ras al-Ain told Kurdistan24 News the attacking forces have cut off access to the town. They reported 30 injuries in the area from artillery fired by either the Turks or their allies from the Free Syrian Army.
