Man Tries Opening Bank Account With Fake $1M Bill

Police in Nebraska are searching for a man who allegedly tried Monday to open an account with a fake $1 million bill.

Staff at the Pinnacle Bank branch in Lincoln said the man strolled in around 9:30 a.m. and presented the bill to a teller, The Lincoln Journal-Star reported.

He claimed the bill was real despite bank employees telling him the opposite. He left with the bogus bill — but without a new account. . .

New Poll Has Bad News for the Impeachment Inquiry

As Democrats ramp up their efforts in the impeachment inquiry, a new poll shows that although most Americans believe the president did something wrong on a controversial Ukraine call, far fewer believe he should be impeached.

Whether President Donald Trump asked for a “quid pro quo” during a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is the central impetus behind the impeachment inquiry by House Democrats. The president and his allies have denied any wrongdoing.

According to the poll, 59 percent of respondents said that what the president did on the phone call was wrong.

But of those, only 38 percent said it was an impeachable offense.

Photo Shows Drag Queen Story Hour Performer Exposing Crotch Near Children

A photograph shows a miniskirt-wearing Drag Queen Story Hour performer with an exposed crotch as children sit close by, according to a writer who attended the event earlier this month at Ridgedale Library in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and took the photo. . .

Taylor said performer Sasha Sota — who wore a pink miniskirt, spiked heels, and a shirt with an exposed midriff — “strode in suggestively past the children, sitting down in a chair before several preschool-aged girls with his legs spread wide, exposing his nylon-covered crotch in front of children sitting at eye level. We noticed that he did this often while reading nervously before the children.”

Taylor noted that the librarian hosting the event reminded the adults that they are role models for the children and that “if anyone gets upset — even grownups — you can leave.” . . .

Child Protection League Action posted several images of the event on its Facebook page, and many commenters weren’t pleased.

San Diego Gang Violence Soars Amid Weak-On-Crime and Sanctuary Policies

When a state passes one law after another designed to deter incarceration instead of crime, is it any wonder that crime will increase? And when a state announces a law to protect criminal aliens from deportation, many of whom are involved in transnational gangs, should anyone be surprised that gang violence has soared? Evidently, for head-scratchers in California, these are novel concepts.

Last week, there was a deadly stabbing in a park near San Diego, which involved 20 gang members. While this is nothing new in San Diego or anywhere else in the country, the continuing trend is concerning. According to San Diego police, there have been 463 gang-related crimes committed through June in the area, up from 385 during the same period last year. Also, the number of gang homicides has doubled.

According to the L.A. Times, there have also been “more robberies, assaults with a deadly weapon and attempted murders.” However, the paper states, “it’s unclear what is behind the sudden surge in gang crime.”

Well, let me take a stab at it. Maybe it has something to do with California’s pro-criminal alien and general pro-criminal laws coming home to roost in recent months and years?

According to local media, this most recent gang-related brawl led to the murder of Mauricio Renteria. Those arrested were “six juveniles ranging from 14 to 17 years old.”

Let’s ponder this for a moment. Hispanic gangs with an influx of juveniles? Where have we seen that before? Oh, that’s right, the border surge from Central America is fueling the growth of gangs, and the ages of the perpetrators are getting younger and younger.

When L.A. police and federal law enforcement busted a gruesome clique of MS-13 members in the San Fernando Valley this year, 19 of the 22 were illegal aliens, most of them recent arrivals from Central America who were resettled as unaccompanied alien children. As U.S. attorney Nick Hanna is quoted in the Los Angeles Times, “We’re seeing an influx of younger gang members coming into the area associating themselves with the Fulton clique who are extremely violent, who have to commit murders to join the clique.”

Claude Arnold, who once ran the Los Angeles field office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), was quoted as saying, “These are newer entrants, so they’re making their bones with the gang, it’s just how it is. They want to make a name for themselves, and those are the people who are generally the most violent members of street gangs.”

According to the indictment, these people were “required to kill an MS-13 rival or someone perceived to be adverse to MS-13 to be initiated into MS-13.”

So the growth in gang activity is likely coming from an influx of newer members who need to show their moxie in order to join the ranks of the most violent gangs. This is all being driven initially from the border. But what happens when a state like California passes a law protecting them from removal? Well, most criminals usually are arrested for other criminal activity, such as drunk driving, assault, or drugs, prior to committing murder. While too many citizens arrested for such crimes barely serve any time or no time at all before being let out on the streets, every illegal alien arrested for gang-related crimes should be removed from the country before they strike again.

In comes the California Trust act, enacted in 2014, which violates federal law by prohibiting any law enforcement agency to communicate with ICE. Thus, all the new gang members entering California who are picked up on various local charges but could be removed are allowed back onto the streets. Hence there are more of them. In 2012, ICE removed nearly 100,000 criminal aliens from California. Since 2014, ICE has never removed more than 30,000 annually.

What’s worse, ICE is now in the dark about these gang members and their identity. As a California ICE official said in a statement to CR, “Due to the California Trust act (SB54), ICE access has been removed from gang databases, refused access to people in jails that are possibly gang affiliated and not notified of any releases even if there is a gang affiliation. This egregious malfeasance on behalf of the State of California lawmakers threatens communities and all law enforcement entities to include ICE.”

As such, all of those gang members who would otherwise have been removed when California still cooperated with ICE are now released and go on to commit more crimes. Timothy Robbins, acting director of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations, testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week that anywhere between 40 and 80 percent of criminal illegal aliens who are released by sanctuary jurisdictions will re-offend.

Mystery solved. Yet there can be no mention in the media about the effects of illegal immigration on the state. Two illegal aliens are charged with last week’s murder of El Dorado County sheriff’s deputy Brian Ishmael, but nobody in local media is connecting the dots.

Of course, if California was actually tough on all criminals, even without giving over criminal aliens for removal, at least they’d be locked up in local jail or prison. But thanks to the California Democrats’ war on prison, many of these people are out on bail, and even the ones convicted barely serve any time. So many laws and ballot initiatives weakening the criminal justice system have been passed in recent years that it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to discover why crime and gang activity are increasing now more than ever.

Just two weeks ago, Governor Gavin Newsom, signed bills banning the use of facial recognition on police body cameras, reducing sentencing for repeat violent felons, and expunging criminal records of most criminals after their sentences are complete. On top of that, he pardoned three criminal aliens in the hopes that it would stop them from being removed from the country. Leave no criminal behind – foreign or domestic – is the modus operandi of California politicians.

According to a new poll commissioned by the California Chamber of Commerce, “California voters are anxious.” They report that 79 percent of Californians agree (41 percent strongly) “that homelessness and criminal behavior have become rampant throughout California,” and 73 percent agree (37 percent strongly) “that street crime, shoplifting and car theft have become rampant throughout California.” Disturbingly, 60 percent agree (25 percent strongly) with the statement, “I no longer feel safe because of the danger and disorder in society today.”

Trump is slated to lose California by a mile no matter what he does. He has nothing to lose by running against the systemic anarchy of the once Golden State and framing the election around one simple question: Does the rest of America want to follow California’s footsteps and feel unsafe in their own communities? America’s Moral Divide Extends Even to the World’s Most Evil Terrorist

Former vice presidential candidate John Edwards was right when he said in 2004 that there are two Americas. The reaction to the targeting and death of ISIS leader Abu al-Baghdadi demonstrates the moral divide in this country between normal people and the “elites” more than ever.

Normal people who believe in good vs. evil, victim vs. criminal, and right vs. wrong reacted to the news yesterday the way it’s expressed in Proverbs 11:10: “When the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.”

Those who believe that criminals are victims, babies should be executed, and murderers should be released from prison, aka progressives, have a difficult time with Trump celebrating the lowly death of one of the most brutal terrorists of this generation.

The Washington Post, in a roundly mocked obituary, titled its screed, “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48.” They have since modified the title to “extremist leader,” refusing to mention which form of extremism.

Could you imagine such a headline from the media about Hitler’s death? For that matter, could you imagine a headline like this regarding a conservative they detest, such as Jesse Helms?

The media seems to have a fascination with humanizing people like Baghdadi, while President Trump rightfully depicts them in the dehumanizing way they acted. Bloomberg published a profile yesterday describing Baghdadi as a man who “transformed himself from a little-known teacher of Koranic recitation into the self-proclaimed ruler of an entity that covered swaths of Syria and Iraq” and said he “was killed along with a number of his followers.”

Rukmini Callimachi, who covers ISIS for the New York Times, in a profile piece at the Gray Lady, felt a need to quote local people who grew up with Baghdadi describing his pious devotion to his mosque and how he cleaned the building.

What exactly is the point in pushing this line of reporting now?

Even Mac Thornberry, R-Texas, the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, in response to a question about the president describing Baghdadi’s death as a “coward” and “dog,” said he felt “a little uncomfortable to hear a president talking that way.” CNN’s Jake Tapper bizarrely felt that there was something wrong with what the president said, although he never explained exactly why it was wrong for him to paint such a “vivid picture” of the terrorist’s demise.

Thornberry qualified his answer by noting that there was utility to Trump taking the glamour away from Baghdadi’s death as an inspirational figure in the eyes of young recruits to terrorism. But why did he need to preface his remarks with the fact that he felt “a little uncomfortable?”

I guess we should just be relieved the Ninth Circuit didn’t place an injunction on Baghdadi’s death.

In reality, this was one instance where Trump’s undisciplined and unorthodox way of speaking is just what the time called for. The entire draw of ISIS was its glamour in martyrdom. Trump did a superlative job dehumanizing him while playing up the bravery of the special operators – all without too much focus on himself. He was actually right on message.

Also, Trump took the time to explain in greater detail and clarity why he believes it’s wrong to have a permanent ground presence in Syria. He deftly explained how ISIS is a bigger problem for Russia and the other neighbors and how it’s not our job to have a permanent presence there, but rather to engage in quick strikes and maneuvers as necessary. Taking away the shine from ISIS recruitment speaks exactly to what threatens us here at home, thanks to all of the people we’ve admitted into our country over the years who subscribe to this ideology. Trump’s rhetoric following this operation did more to deter their actions than a permanent presence in the region, which does nothing but help Russia and the Shiites. State Democrat Party Chair: Trump ‘Has Aligned Himself With ISIS’ (VIDEO)

Arizona Democrat Party Chairman Felecia Rotellini falsely claimed on Saturday that President Donald Trump “has aligned himself with ISIS,” a remark that was made as Trump and other top officials prepared to gather in the White House Situation Room to watch U.S. forces kill ISIS Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Rotellini made the false claim during a panel discussion at the Citizens Clean Elections Commission’s “We the Voters” conference at the Phoenix Convention Center.

At approximately 3:45 EST, Rotellini said, “another reason that people are going to vote [is] because Donald Trump is manipulating that White House and has aligned himself with ISIS…”

The panel also featured Republican Party of Arizona Chairwoman Dr. Kelli Ward, Arizona Libertarian Party Chairman Howard Blitz, and Arizona Green Party First Vice Chair Amee Beck.

Judge Blocks Alabama’s Abortion Ban

On Tuesday, a federal judge blocked Alabama’s abortion ban, which was scheduled to be implemented on November 15 and would make Alabama the first state in the United States to make abortion illegal. The American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama and Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates had filed suit claiming the legislation, which was signed into law last May, was unconstitutional.

As AL.com reports, Judge Myron Thompson of the District Court for the Middle District of Alabama stated of Alabama’s Human Life Protection Act, which would charge doctors with a felony for performing abortions unless the mother’s life was in danger or the baby was still born or likely to die just after its birth: “’The court is persuaded that the plaintiffs are likely to succeed in showing that the Act violates an individual’s constitutional right to obtain a pre-viability abortion, and thus that it violates her constitutional rights.” He concluded:

Alabama’s abortion ban contravenes clear Supreme Court precedent. It violates the right of an individual to privacy, to make “choices central to personal dignity and autonomy”(Casey, 505 U.S. at 851) … It diminishes “the capacity of women to act in society, and to make reproductive decisions.” (Id. at 860). It defies the United States Constitution. The court will, therefore, enter an appropriate order preliminarily enjoining enforcement of the Act as applied to pre-viability abortion.

The Daily Mail noted, “Tuesday’s injunction will ensure that the suit can move forward and upward through the court system – including, quite possibly, the Supreme Court – before coming into effect. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has long been prepared for that possibility. Liberals Are Not Going to Like What Comedian Dave Chappelle Said About the Second Amendment

. . .[Dave Chappelle’s] latest comedy special on Netflix, Sticks and Stones, triggered the critics and liberal America. Everyone else loved it. Alas, we see the disconnect between normal people and the legions of the overly educated, humorless zombies that seek to ruin everything. Ever since Trump won the 2016 election, the critics have taken to hear the resistance, social justice warrior angle that has led them to write trash reviews. I didn’t think the remake of Death Wish, starring Bruce Willis, was necessary but it was a good movie. Chappelle is the latest target of this political correctness cancer, but he shouldn’t despair. The comedian recently won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, an immense honor. In his remarks, he delivered a defense of the Second Amendment (via Washington Times):

Comedian Dave Chappelle gave a compelling defense of the Second Amendment in front of a star-studded Washington crowd on Sunday.

The Emmy-winning comedian accepted the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at The Kennedy Center, where he reportedly delivered impromptu remarks defending free speech and comedians he knows who are “very racist.”

“[I] don’t get mad at ‘em, don’t hate on ‘em,” he said, USA Today reported. “Man, it’s not that serious. The First Amendment is first for a reason. Second Amendment is just in case the First one doesn’t work out.”

Former Bush Press Secretary Suggests Why Pelosi Is Holding An Impeachment Vote

Maybe deep down House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wanted this, but she also knew the political ramifications. It would be an earthquake, and one in which Democrats could have reaped total destruction. It would galvanize the Trump base and give the president all the ammunition he needed to rip apart the Democratic Party for what is arguably one of the most explicitly partisan witch hunts in recent memory. The impeachment proceedings of President Trump are not yet official, but as Cortney wrote yesterday, a Thursday vote is going to be held. Former Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer was on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier” where he suggested that Pelosi is doing a retroactive makeup with this vote. Why? Well, the optics can’t be polished, especially on something as serious as impeachment (via RCP):

ARI FLEISCHER: Fairness is a fundamental American value, and this should not come down to a vote or not a vote. It should always be marked by fairness. If they have a vote now, you can not make up for the lack of fairness for the last month where we’ve had a secret impeachment process, with secret witnesses and secret transcripts all started by a secret whistle-blower. That is not how we conduct things to be fair to anybody in this country. So I think this is a little bit of retroactive makeup by Speaker Pelosi who recognized that they do have a problem. And it’s not a process problem. Fairness is a fundamental American virtue.

Make no mistake; Pelosi wants Trump gone, but maybe not in this way. This shift could signal that she knows the ground is not stable for Democrats; polls show swing state voters are not enthralled with this circus up on the Hill. With a large chunk of the House Democratic caucus hailing from the Left Coast and the liberal cesspool that is the Northeast, it shouldn’t be a shock that these clowns were fantasizing about impeachment from day one of the Trump presidency, which was buoyed by a rabid and unhinged progressive base that inhabits these lands. Top Ukraine Expert on National Security Council Plans to Testify; Official Set To Back Up Many Of Whistleblower’s Claims

By Townhall. The National Security Council’s top Ukraine expert, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman of the Army, who heard President Donald Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, plans to provide details of the call to impeachment investigators on Tuesday, the New York Times reported. Vindman will be the first White House official who listened in on the conversation to testify before investigators.

According to his written statement, he was in the Situation Room with other colleagues from the NSC and the office of the Vice President when the call took place. He said he had concerns about the call and reported them to the NSC’s lead counsel once it concluded.

“I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine,” Vindman said in his opening statement. “I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.” (Read more from “Top Ukraine Expert on National Security Council Plans to Testify” HERE)

White House Official Who Listened to Trump Call Set to Back up Many of Whistleblower’s Claims: Report

By Daily Caller. An official on the National Security Council will tell lawmakers Tuesday he reported concerns about President Donald Trump’s position toward Ukraine to a top White House lawyer, according to a draft of his statement.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council, will be the first White House official appearing for a Democrat-led impeachment inquiry of Trump who listened in on the president’s July 25 phone call with Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president.

Vindman will say he was “worried” about the pressure Trump put on Zelensky to open investigations into Burisma Holdings, an energy company linked to Hunter Biden, according to his opening statement, which The NYT first reported.

Vindman, an Army officer who served in the Iraq War, will also tell lawmakers that he raised concerns twice with John Eisenberg, the top lawyer on the National Security Council.
