Noted Environmentalist Apologizes for ‘Climate Scare’ Foisted on Public for Decades

Michael Shellenberger is no slouch when it comes to environmental issues.

Besides his TED talks garnering more than 5 million views, he’s a Green Book Award Winner, a frequent contributor to publications such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Scientific American — and he also authored “Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All,” which was released Tuesday by HarperCollins.

But Shellenberger said a Forbes article — “On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologize for the Climate Scare” — based on his new book was soon “censored” soon after it went up Sunday. The Daily Wire reported that his piece was taken down from the Forbes website “a few hours” after it was published. The Forbes site on Tuesday showed where Shellenberger’s article should be — but only says it’s “no longer active.”

. . .Here’s how Shellenberger opens his article: “On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years. Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem.”

Socialist Rep. Says Plan to Cut $1B From NYPD Does Not Go Far Enough

Far-left New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) slammed New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) proposal to cut nearly $1 billion from the New York City Police Department on Tuesday, calling the plan a “disingenuous illusion” and insisting that “defunding the police means defunding the police.”

. . .CBS News reported that de Blasio announced a plan on Monday for cutting $1 billion from the NYPD, amid a citywide budget crunch and after weeks of progressive activists calling for “defunding police” across the nation following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The next day, the Gotham Gazette reported that the mayor and city council reached an agreement on the cuts to the department, “though nearly half will be through shifting school safety from the police to the Department of Education” by “shifting school safety and school crossing guards out of the NYPD’s purview.”

In response, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez issued a statement, saying:

Defunding police means defunding police. It does not mean tricks or funny math. It does not mean moving school police officers from the NYPD budget to the Department of Education’s budget so that the exact same police remain in schools. It does not mean counting overtime cuts as cuts, even as NYPD ignores every attempt by City Council to curb overtime spending and overspends on overtime anyways. It does not mean hiring more police officers while cutting more than $800M from NYC schools. If these reports are accurate, then these proposed ‘cuts’ to NYPD’s budget are a disingenuous illusion. This is not a victory. The fight to defund policing continues.

Given Biden’s obvious slide into dementia, his commanding lead in both national and critical battleground polls defies logic. Clearly the Democrats’ intention is to utilize Biden as a mere figurehead, but there will be occasions where he will be forced to speak. Can you imagine this man representing the United States overseas? Can you envision what a meeting between Biden and Putin or Kim Jong Un might look like?

20 Percent of Likely Democratic Voters Believe Biden Is Suffering From Dementia

By Daily Caller. Nearly 40% of likely voters believe that former Vice President Joe Biden is experiencing some form of dementia, according to a new poll published Monday.

Twenty percent of Democratic voters believe the presumptive presidential nominee for their party has some form of serious cognitive decline, according to a poll from conservative-leaning pollster Rasmussen Reports. More than 60% of Republicans feel Biden has dementia, as do 30% of voters without a major party affiliation, according to the Rasmussen poll.

Roughly 61% of all voters believe Biden should address the dementia issue publicly, with 41% of voters saying it is very important for the former vice president to provide a comment, the poll shows. More Than 30 Texas Bars Sue Over Gov. Greg Abbott’s Recent Shutdown Order

By The Texas Tribune. Hoping to block Gov. Greg Abbott’s Friday decision ordering Texas bars to close due to a rise in coronavirus cases, more than 30 bar owners filed a lawsuit Monday challenging Abbott’s emergency order.

The lawsuit, first reported by the Austin American-Statesman, was filed in Travis County District Court by Jared Woodfill, a Houston attorney who has led previous legal efforts opposing Abbott’s other shutdown orders during the pandemic.

“Why does he continue unilaterally acting like a king?” Woodfill, former chair of the Harris County Republican Party, said of Abbott in an interview. “He’s sentencing bar owners to bankruptcy.”

Announcing the shutdown Friday, Abbott said the actions of his executive order “are essential to our mission to swiftly contain this virus and protect public health.”

Dozens of Texas bar owners — including those who run Machine Shed Bar & Grill in Kilgore, Shots and Crafts in Denton, and Big Daddy Zanes in Odessa — disagree, and they have positioned themselves in a legal standoff with the governor as hospitals across the state fill up with sick Texans due to the coronavirus pandemic. Arizona Governor Closes Bars, Gyms, Movie Theaters Over Coronavirus Concerns

By Breitbart. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) announced Monday that there will be a delay in school reopenings and closed bars, gyms, movie theaters, and water parks after a recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the state.

The closures, which went into effect on Monday at 8 p.m., will remain in effect for 30 days and the situation will be re-evaluated at that time. Ducey outlined the orders at a press conference and on his Twitter page.

“Effective at 8:00 p.m. tonight, we are instituting a month-long pause on the operations of bars, gyms, movie theaters, waterparks and tubing rentals,” Ducey wrote in a tweet. “This will help relieve stress on our health care system and give time for new transmissions to slow.”

In addition to the month-long pause on certain businesses and activities, Ducey also prohibited gatherings of 50 or more people, telling residents in the state to celebrate Independence Day “responsibly” and insisting that they wear face masks when they go out into public. California Pulls Back on Reopenings as Florida, Texas Reimpose Coronavirus Shutdowns

By Deadline. The governors of Florida and Texas have decided that recently reopened bars are the cause of record levels of new coronavirus cases in their states. On Friday, they closed down the bars there, shuttering businesses just getting back to work.

Seven states are reporting new highs for coronavirus hospitalizations, according to the Washington Post. They include Arizona, Arkansas, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. More than 800 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the United States on Tuesday, the first time fatalities have increased since June 7.

While Los Angeles County bars and restaurants are not yet under new shutdown orders, many owners are warily watching the situation unfolding elsewhere, as cases continue to spike in their area. Many Florida and Texas venues reordered supplies in anticipation of a surge, and now those investments in goods may not provide a return. Democrats Delete Tweet Targeting Mount Rushmore Over ‘White Supremacy’

The Democrat Party on Monday evening tweeted, then deleted, an attack on Mount Rushmore, negatively portraying an upcoming event President Trump is planning ahead of Independence Day at the historic monument to four great American presidents.

“Trump has disrespected Native communities time and again,” the Democrats wrote on Twitter, with a link to an article in the British newspaper the Guardian, in the now-deleted tweet. “He’s attempted to limit their voting rights and blocked critical pandemic relief. Now he’s holding a rally glorifying white supremacy at Mount Rushmore–a region once sacred to tribal communities.”

The linked story from the Guardian quotes Oglala Lakota tribe member Nick Tilsen, the president of local activist group “NDN Collective,” as calling Mount Rushmore a symbol of “white supremacy.”

“Mount Rushmore is a symbol of white supremacy, of structural racism that’s still alive and well in society today,” Tilsen said, a message echoed by the Democrat Party’s formal Twitter account.

. . .The push from the Democrats to target Mount Rushmore comes as leftist activists tear down monuments and statues around the country. But the move by the Democrat Party to put the iconic American mountainside monument to four great American presidents–George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln–in the crosshairs by claiming it represents “white supremacy” when it clearly does not may go too far for some voters.

Dissident Claims Chinese Communist Party Pays Vatican $2 Billion Annually to Keep Shut

During a recent interview on The War Room on June 20, Guo revealed that the CCP earmarks massive budget each year to secure the allegiance of foreign nations including the likes of Vatican, Italy, and Australia, US-based Breitbart news reported.

He also added that the Vatican receives up to USD 2 billion from the Chinese Communist party.

“The Chinese Communist Party allocates 2 billion US dollars each year” to increase their influence over the Vatican’s internal policymaking and to finance for its silence on the CCP’s repression of religious freedom, said the billionaire whistleblower.

Guo had previously stated that China has drafted a complete strategy for world domination known by the initials “BGY,” which stands for Blue (control the Internet), Gold (buy influence with money), and Yellow (seduce key people with sex). Dissident Tycoon Says Chinese Communist Party Pays Vatican as well as other Countries to Stay Quiet

By Mailonline Reporter. Fugitive tycoon Guo Wengui claimed in a podcast that the Communist Party had been paying the Holy See generously since 2014 because Beijing ‘wanted the Vatican to shut up about China’s religion policies.’

US-based Guo, 52, said in the interview that the Communist country had also spent large sums to muzzle other countries – including Italy and Australia – from voicing concerns. . .

‘[They] want Vatican to shut up and follow the CCP about the religion polices,’ Guo said on [Steve Bannon’s] radio show. ‘That is disaster.’

The Chinese dissident also claimed that the Chinese government was paying the Holy See with $100million (£80million) before 2014, without specifying when those payments initially started.

Top Intelligence Officials Release Statements Criticizing Leaking of Russian Bounties Information

Top U.S. intelligence officials released statements Monday criticizing leaks to the media as the Trump administration continues to defend against allegations that it knew Russia had offered bounties to incentivize Taliban-linked militants to kill coalition troops in Afghanistan.

CIA Director Gina Haspel and Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe released similar statements Monday night slamming leaks as detrimental to intelligence investigations.

“The selective leaking of any classified information disrupts the vital interagency work to collect, assess, and mitigate threats and places our forces at risk. It also, simply put, a crime,” Ratcliffe said in a statement.

John Roberts Screws Protectors of Life Again, Strikes Down Louisiana’s Abortion Law

The Supreme Court on Monday struck down a Louisiana abortion law, handing a win to abortion rights advocates who feared the conservative court would break with past rulings to rein in protections that emerged from the landmark decision in Roe v. Wade.

The justices voted 5-4 to invalidate Louisiana’s admitting-privilege law in the first major abortion ruling of the Trump era, which came after the court struck down a nearly identical Texas restriction four years ago.

The ruling, which underscored the razor-thin voting margin over abortion rights, with Chief Justice John Roberts joining the court’s four liberals, is likely to make future Supreme Court decisions over a woman’s right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy an even more pressing issue in the coming presidential election.

The decision is also the clearest indication yet that the court, which now tilts more conservative with the addition of President Trump’s two nominees, is pursuing a more restrained approach than many abortion rights advocates feared.

In a concurring opinion, Roberts said his vote was guided by deference to prior rulings, particularly the court’s 2016 decision in Whole Woman’s Health v. WATCH: BLM Protester Kills Photographer Who Supported the Movement; Shooter Arrested Twice in Past Week, Slaughter Stopped by Armed Citizens

By Daily Caller. A photographer who allegedly supported Black Lives Matter (BLM) seems to have been killed by a BLM-affiliated protester.

Tyler Gerth, a photographer and outspoken supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, according to the Courier Journal, was gunned down in a protest camp in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday. Steven Nelson Lopez, who is suspected of killing Gerth, has been sighted and arrested at protests against racism and police brutality, per the Courier Journal. One other individual was also wounded during the shooting.

A livestream originally provided by Maxwell Mitchell appears to show Lopez firing indiscriminately into a protest camp that was located in Louisville’s Jefferson Square Park. Mitchell’s stream has since been clipped and reposted by other individuals. . .

The slain photographer’s Instagram profile remains publicly available and features a statement asking his viewers to “be excellent to each other.” His profile also features over a dozens shots favorably depicting BLM rallies. “I do not see an end to protests, for good reason. I am so proud of everyone who showed up tonight to show support,” he wrote in the caption for one of his photographs.

What We Know About the BLM Protester Who Allegedly Murdered a Pro-BLM Photographer

By Natalia Martinez. The man accused of fatally shooting a local photographer at Jefferson Square Saturday night had been arrested twice before for rioting related charges.

WAVE 3 News has learned the suspect’s name is Steven Nelson Lopez. He’s been in police custody since the shooting occurred Saturday around 9 p.m. He’s been charged with one count of murder and one count of wanton endangerment first degree.

Lopez, who had been camping at Jefferson Square had been asked to leave earlier in the day by other protesters for his “disruptive behavior” Mayor Greg Fischer said during a press conference Sunday afternoon. . .

While the suspect shot into the crowd, other bystanders returned fire to protect their life and the lives of others. Lopez sustained a non-serious injury from a gunshot wound to the leg during the crossfire. . .

On June 17th Lopez was arrested for inciting a riot, disorderly conduct, harassment and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia. Just two days later, records show Lopez was arrested yet again on June 19th. (Read more about the BLM protester who allegedly killed a BLM supporter HERE)

Colorado Supreme Court Upholds Gun Magazine Law

. . .The Colorado Supreme Court issued it’s ruling Monday morning, ending the seven-year challenge by Loveland-based Rocky Mountain Gun Owners.

In 2013, one year after the Aurora Theater Shooting, Colorado’s democratic-controlled legislature passed a number of gun reform bills, including House Bill 13-1224, which banned the sale and transfer of magazines that hold more than 15 rounds of ammunition. Then-Gov. John Hickenlooper signed the bill into law, which took effect July 1, 2013.

Rocky Mountain Gun Owners sued in state court, saying it violated the right to bear arms under Colorado’s Constitution. Because of that, Monday’s ruling is final and cannot be appealed to the United States Supreme Court.

. . .”We hold that HB 1224 is a reasonable exercise of the police power that has neither the purpose nor effect of nullifying the right to bear arms in self-defense encompassed by article II, section 13 of the Colorado Constitution,” the 7-0 ruling concluded.
