Repeat Criminal Who Violated His Bail 3 Times Arrested for Murder Days Later

For every terrible police action, how many career criminals are given too many leniencies, to the point when clear public safety threats are released in order to kill? They are too numerous to count. They are the rule, yet our politicians focus on the exception, not the rule, in their legislative and policy fixes. The people most often harmed by our weak revolving door of jail and prison releases are African-American homicide victims. This is demonstrated by the case of Ryan Long of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Republicans have joined Democrats in recent years in the disastrous push to lower or abolish cash bail rather than increase it for repeat offenders. We have certainly seen the disastrous effects of this policy in New York. But there are other places that haven’t abolished bail yet liberally release repeat offenders on very low bail, even when they committed previous violent crime while out on bail.

Take a look at 30-year-old Ryan Long and ask yourself what the system should have done with him when he was arrested for DUI on May 15.

Pending charge in October 2019 for assault and robbery of a man. He posted just $1,000 to get out of jail a day later.

Pending charge on January 10, 2020, for allegedly shooting a woman in the thigh with a .22 caliber gun. Despite the first bond violation, he was out six days later on just $10,000.

On April 23, 2020, he’s involved in a rollover crash that wrecked an entire block, where he was found with marijuana, an open bottle of Crown Royal, and a BAC of .196.

Now fast-forward to May 15, when he is arrested for another DUI, which was his third career drunk driving offense. What do you think the justice system should do with him? This man is clearly a violent threat both physically and on the road. He has now violated the original bond three times!

Shouldn’t a repeat offender with a violent threat assessment, especially from pending charges for which he is already out on bail, be denied bail or at least have bail set at a high level? Well, he was released four days later after paying just $7,000. Four days after that, Long was arrested for the murder of 31-year-old Michael Whitemagpie in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, after he was pulled over and found to be in possession of a stolen 9mm handgun. Whitemagpie appears to be just one example of the forgotten 7,400+ annual black lives lost to homicide, mainly killed by repeat violent offenders who go undeterred and unpunished.

This is not even among the crazier bail stories I’ve written about in the past. But it reflects the rule, rather than the exception. There are thousands upon thousands of known violent criminals who continue to slip through the system. Why is there no regard for this part of public safety? Why is there no legislative push to end this jailbreak rather than enlarge it? Why is there no regard for victims of crime and African-American homicide victims like Michael Whitemagpie? Do those lives not matter?

We have a real crisis, with repeat violent offenders being let out onto the streets more than ever, yet both parties are pushing a one-sided agenda to abolish pretrial bail, reduce or eliminate sentencing, limit policing, and create more barriers to prosecuting criminals. Mitch McConnell is talking about some sort of federal legislation to clamp down on cops. Lindsey Graham, after spearheading jailbreak “reform” is now pushing “policing reform.”

Meanwhile, every single rioter arrested in St. Louis and in other cities has been released back onto the streets, despite the fact that four cops were shot Monday night.

Why is the focus on criminal justice always a one-way street? (For more from the author of “Repeat Criminal Who Violated His Bail 3 Times Arrested for Murder Days Later” please click HERE)

NEW AMERICA: Cops Get Punished for Self-Defense; Rioters Set Free

George Floyd’s family is getting swift justice against the cop who killed him by all levels of the Minnesota justice system. Now who will deliver justice for the American citizens, including cops, beaten and killed and all the damaged property and disruptions? Well, prosecutors in major cities are now dropping charges even against the few rioters arrested, while pressing charges against cops involved in very dangerous self-defense situations.

David Dorn was a retired cop, with the St. Louis police department for 38 years. He was helping his friend defend his pawn shop when he was shot dead on the sidewalk Monday night by rioters. Dorn was African-American. Police currently have no suspects. His family will likely never see justice.

Where are the “legitimate grievances” to “protest” in his memory and push a narrative of systemic injustice against victims of crime that is much more systemic than police brutality? Where is all the fawning media coverage over this man?

David Underwood, another African-American law enforcement officer, was killed in a drive-by shooting protecting a courthouse in Oakland. Still no justice there.

Four other active-duty police were shot in St. Louis that night. No justice so far.

Three officers were run over in Buffalo, New York, one NYPD officer run over in the Bronx, and another run over in Greenwich Village.

A Las Vegas cop was shot in the head and is on life support.

Hundreds of cops have been injured because, contrary to the allegation of systemic police brutality, they risk their by using underwhelming force or waiting too long to deter the rioters.

What about the looters and arsonists?

D.C. police arrested 106 rioters from Friday through Monday, but the local prosecutor dropped most of the charges.

More than 400 looters in New York City were arrested, but most will be released without bail. One woman who tossed a Molotov cocktail inside a police van was merely charged with damaging property rather than attempted murder.

In Dallas, County Judge Clay Jenkins said he “fully support[ed] not booking them [the rioters].” According to the Dallas News, it was only “after reports began circulating that District Attorney John Creuzot was urging police to let the protesters go,” the DA put out a statement walking it back.

The twisted irony of these riots is that they were justified as a pursuit of justice after justice was well on its way to being served in Minneapolis, yet the protests have spawned even more death and beatings, lootings, and destruction – most of which will go 100% unpunished. Thousands of criminals are committing acts that in any other time would land them in prison for quite some time and are getting off free.

At the same time that people can riot with impunity, cops thrust into impossible situations are being fired or even threatened with prosecution. New York Mayor de Blasio called on one cop to be fired for drawing his weapon when in fact he was defending his supervisor, after the supervisor was hit squarely in the head by a brick thrown by one of the righteous protesters. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez solicited the public to send him videos of police brutality at a time when rioters are tearing apart the city and police are placed in an impossible situation.

Thanks to government tyranny and maleficent lockdowns (now proven to be a lie by the mass gatherings), the Federal Reserve of Atlanta is projecting an unfathomable 52 percent annualized decline in GDP for the second quarter. At a time when we need to get businesses turbo-charged, nearly every business in a major city is either destroyed or unable to function properly. We have become a failed state as our government has declined to do its core job while illegally violating civil rights of business owners.

It’s the ultimate demonstration of victimizing criminals while criminalizing victims. How in the world can this be justified? As New York Mayor de Blasio told one local reporter who asked why mass riots are allowed but prayer services are prohibited, “When you see a nation, an entire nation, simultaneously grappling with extraordinary crisis seeded in 400 years of American racism, I’m sorry, that is not the same question as the understandably aggrieved store owner or the devout religious person who wants to go back to services.”

Clearly, this country is not big enough for competing views of morality that are so far apart. (For more from the author of “New America: Cops Get Punished for Self-Defense; Rioters Set Free” please click HERE)

Google Faces Massive Lawsuit for Tracking People in Incognito Mode

Google faces a proposed class action lawsuit that accuses the tech giant of invading people’s privacy and tracking internet use even when browsers are set to “private” mode. The suit, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, alleges that Google violates wiretapping and privacy laws by continuing to “intercept, track, and collect communications” even when people use Chrome’s incognito mode and other private web browser modes.

“Google tracks and collects consumer browsing history and other web activity data no matter what safeguards consumers undertake to protect their data privacy,” reads the complaint. The search giant surreptitiously collects data through Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, website plug-ins and other applications, including mobile apps, according to the complaint.

The lawsuit seeks at least $5 billion from Google and its parent company, Alphabet, according to Reuters. The complaint says the proposed class may include “millions” of Google users and is looking for damages of at least $5,000 for each individual. More on the “Never Again” Education Act

By Morgan Benth. President Trump signed the Never Again Education Act into law Friday. . .

Educators say students begin learning about the Holocaust in late elementary school and continue that learning into high school.

“It allows them to ask authentic questions. To connect the history that occurred that developed our nation and our state to who we are today. Have our students have a strong, firm grasp on what our history is, so they can be the future leaders,” said ND State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler. . .

“They just say that it’s definitely very eye opening for a lot of them because you always hear about the concentration camps, you hear about the thousands of people that lost their lives, but you don’t see to the extent,” said history teacher Erica Quale. Riots Aren’t Just Destroying Businesses, They’re Taking Lives

While we’ve all been captivated by the images of looting and pillaging taking place in dozens of American cities, off-camera, homicides have been soaring over the past week as police are expending almost all of their energies trying to quell civil unrest. As cops try to get a handle on the riots, criminals are taking full advantage.

In Chicago, there were 22 homicides over the weekend, including 11 homicides just on Sunday alone. In the greater Cook County area the numbers are even worse. . .

Most of these homicides aren’t directly related to the riots and protests, but there have been several murders reported around the country that can be blamed on riots, including the killing of 22-year old Italia Maria Kelley in Davenport, Iowa. Kelly’s younger sister took to social media to pin the murder on protesters.

In Las Vegas on Monday evening, a federal marshal was killed outside of the federal courthouse, while a federal protective services officer was murdered in Oakland, California over the weekend. On Monday night, four St. Louis, Missouri police officers were shot, though thankfully none of their injuries are life threatening. WATCH: Cuomo Blasts NYC Mayor for Refusing National Guard’s Help

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) revealed Tuesday that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) refused assistance from the state’s National Guard to thwart widespread looting as protests and riots rage over the death of George Floyd.

In his daily press briefing, Cuomo issued stinging criticism of De Blasio and the New York Police Department, saying Monday evening’s failed attempt to quell violence unrest was “inexcusable.” . . .

The governor explained that he offered cities around the state, including the Big Apple, help from the National Guard to stop looting, but De Blasio rejected the offer.

“My option is to displace the mayor of New York City and bring in the National Guard as the governor in an emergency and basically you would have to take over the mayor’s job,” Cuomo then explained. “I don’t think we’re at the point,” he said, before adding the move would yield a “chaotic situation” that “wouldn’t make any sense.” (Read more from “WATCH: Cuomo Blasts NYC Mayor for Refusing National Guard’s Help” HERE)

Apple Warns Looters With Stolen Iphones: You Are Being Tracked

By Forbes. . .Apple stores were attacked or damaged in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Philadelphia, with looters stealing whatever products were accessible at the time. But this being Apple, there is a sting in the tail for anyone stealing a boxed iPhone from one of those retail stores.

It has long been known that Apple operates some form of proximity software that disables a device when it is taken illegally from a store. Until now, though, little had been seen of that technology in action. Well, thanks to social media, we can now see the message that greets a looter powering up their new device: “This device has been disabled and is being tracked,” it says. “Local authorities will be alerted.”

Leaked Documents Reveal China Withheld Crucial Information About the Coronavirus at the Start of the Outbreak

China withheld key information about the coronavirus for weeks after it first emerged in January, delaying the international response to the outbreak, a new investigation has revealed.

Chinese officials failed to share the genetic map, or genome, of the virus for over a week after first decoding it and failed to reveal that the virus could be transmitted between humans for a further two weeks, according to internal World Health Organization documents and testimony obtained by the Associated Press.

The AP reported on Tuesday that while scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology decoded the virus on January 2, Chinese health officials did not publish the details of their findings until over a week later, on January 12.

It wasn’t until January 20 that the Chinese state alerted the World Health Organization and other governments that the virus could pass between people, according to the Associated Press investigation.

This was only after a laboratory in Shanghai led by scientist Zhang Yongzhen published the information a day earlier. (Read more from “Leaked Documents Reveal China Withheld Crucial Information About the Coronavirus at the Start of the Outbreak” HERE)

Will You Believe Them This Time? Scientists Say Half the World May Die From Chicken Virus

Mass chicken farming is leaving humans vulnerable to a killer virus which could wipe out half of the world’s population, a scientist claims.

American nutritionist Dr Michael Greger says that diseases harboured by poultry pose an even greater risk to mankind than coronavirus. . .

But Dr Greger, who made the grim prediction in his new book “How To Survive A Pandemic”, says intensive chicken farming could be an even greater threat to the world as we know it. . .

The doctor argues that raising poultry in smaller flocks, allowing them to roam in less crowded and more hygienic spaces will help to slow the spread of viruses.

However, the doctor also warns that even this may not be enough to prevent disaster, as a viral link between chickens and humans will still exist. (Read more from “Will You Believe Them This Time? Scientists Say Half the World May Die From Chicken Virus” HERE)
