By New York Post. The man shot dead by a hired security guard during a Denver protest on Saturday was identified as a local hatter and military veteran.
Lee Keltner was shot shortly after 3:30 p.m. at a “Patriot Rally” outside the Denver Art Museum and later pronounced dead at a local hospital, The Sun reported Sunday.
“My son Lee was at the patriot rally today in Denver,” Keltner’s mother, Carol, posted on the Northeast Arkansas Tea Party Facebook group. “He was murdered because he backed the police.”
The gunman, identified as Matthew Dolloff, a hired security guard from the Pinkerton detective agency, 9News-TV confirmed.

By New York Post. The hired Pinkerton security guard accused of shooting a protester dead during a Denver rally Saturday has been identified as Matthew Robert Dolloff, according to police.
Dolloff, 30, is being held in a first-degree murder investigation in the shooting death of Lee Keltner, the Denver Police Department said on Twitter.
Police said Dolloff has not been charged but is being questioned in connection with Keltner’s caught-on-video shooting death in the courtyard of the Denver Art Museum during a “Patriot Rally” that included clashes with Black Lives Matter demonstrators.
Dolloff, a member of the Pinkerton detective agency, was hired by local news station 9News-TV to provide security during the demonstration, something the outlet said it has done for months while covering BLM protests. The shocking sequence of photos captured at the Saturday demonstrations show the two men approach each other, and the victim — identified in a Facebook post by his mother as Lee Keltner — raising his left hand to the other’s face.

The shooting, which was caught on video, occurred in between the Denver Public Library and the Denver Art Museum after a verbal altercation broke out between some of the protestors while the crowd began to disperse.

The suspect, who was was arrested immediately following the incident, is “a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa.” The victim has yet to be identified but appears to be associated with the conservative demonstrators, according to Post Millennial editor Ian Miles Cheong.
According to 9NEWS, “the private security guard in custody was contracted through Pinkerton by 9NEWS” because “it has been the practice of 9NEWS for a number of months to contract private security to accompany staff at protests.” A 9NEWS producer was also arrested at the scene but later released.
Update: Further investigation has determined the suspect is a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The World Health Organization has backflipped on its original COVID-19 stance after calling for world leaders to stop locking down their countries and economies.
Dr. David Nabarro from the WHO appealed to world leaders yesterday, telling them to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method” of the coronavirus.
He also claimed that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved.
“Lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer,” he said.

Former Vice President and Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden erroneously stated Monday that he is running for the U.S. Senate moments before saying he is running for President of the United States.
“We have to come together, that’s why I’m running as a proud Democrat for the Senate,” Biden said, seemingly misreading his teleprompter script during his remarks in Toledo, Ohio.
Biden continued: “I ran as a proud Democrat for vice president and I’m running as a proud Democrat for president.” He did not correct the previous phrase about presently running for Senate, nor did he give any indication that he noticed a contradiction to reconcile between the two statements.

By Fox News. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, in her opening statement on Monday to the Senate Judiciary Committee, emphasized the role of the judicial branch and said it is not the court’s duty to “solve every problem or right every wrong” in American life.
“Courts have a vital responsibility to enforce the rule of law, which is critical to a free society,” Barrett said Monday, the first of a four-day hearing on her nomination to the Supreme Court. “But courts are not designed to solve every problem or right every wrong in our public life.”
She continued: “The policy decisions and value judgments of government must be made by the political branches elected by and accountable to the People. The public should not expect courts to do so, and courts should not try.”
In her four-page opening statement, Barrett aligned her legal philosophy with that of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, a member of the court’s conservative wing for whom she previously clerked.
“It was the content of Justice Scalia’s reasoning that shaped me. His judicial philosophy was straightforward: A judge must apply the law as written, not as the judge wishes it were. The liberal CNN raised eyebrows by cutting away from the hearing early on, instead having pundits bash Barrett and then pivoting to mostly coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. . .
The socially distanced hearing is nothing like any Supreme Court hearing in the past, with the nominee wearing a black face mask in the television split-screen as senators give their opening statements. Some senators are beaming in virtually as they aim to remain safe from the coronavirus pandemic. The unprecedented news event was aired by MSNBC and Fox News as CNN largely ignored the early session.
“Aside from missing out on partisan commentaries from Senators that could just as easily be delivered by Brianna Keilar or Anderson Cooper, it’s sadly not surprising that CNN has shown little interest in the hearing,” NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck told Fox News.

State and local election officials in California are investigating after multiple unofficial mail-in voting drop-off boxes have been reported in several counties in the weeks leading up to Election Day, Fox News confirmed Monday.
California Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement that his office is “coordinating with local officials to address the multiple reports of unauthorized ballot drop boxes.”
“Operating unofficial ballot drop boxes—especially those misrepresented as official drop boxes—is not just misleading to voters, it’s a violation of state law,” Padilla said. “This is also an important reminder. Voters are in control of how to return their ballot, and they have multiple safe and secure options for doing so. Ballots can be returned by mail, to any in-person voting location, or to an official secure drop box. Never hand your ballot over to someone you don’t trust.”
Padilla said Californians should only use official ballot drop boxes that have been deployed and secured by their county elections office. He said official county drop boxes are built with specific security protections, and ballots are retrieved only by designated county personnel.
He also directed those with questions about voting to go to official, reliable sources with county elections offices of the secretary of state’s office. President Donald Trump on Sunday teased the release of information related to the Russia investigation, which he described as “breathtaking.”
“Documents are being released at a level now that nobody’s ever seen before. Things that nobody were going to get released are now being released,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Justice Department and FBI have declassified a slew of documents related to U.S. agencies’ intelligence-gathering activities against Trump and his associates in 2016.
Several of the documents were related to the Steele dossier, which the FBI used to obtain surveillance warrants against former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
Trump did not specify which documents will be declassified. Just one day after announcing the second 2020 debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden would be moved to a virtual format, the Commission on Presidential Debates has formally canceled the event entirely.
“The campaigns of the two candidates who qualified for participation in the debate made a series of statements concerning their respective positions regarding their willingness to participate in a virtual debate on October 15, and each now has announced alternate plans for that date,” the Commission said in a statement released Friday evening. “It is now apparent there will be no debate on October 15, and the CPD will turn its attention to preparations for the final presidential debate scheduled for October 22.”
The Commission added that barring unexpected concerns relating to coronavirus, the third debate will still take place at Belmont University and the six different segments — each chosen by moderator Kristen Welker of NBC News — will all focus on foreign policy. Welker is expected to announce the topics at least one week prior to the debate.
Trump originally threatened to skip the second debate following the Commission’s Thursday announcement.

The head of U.S. Transportation Command offered a sneak preview Wednesday of the results of a Defense Department test of particulate spread on commercial aircraft — and they are surprising.
Speaking at the National Defense Transportation Association’s annual fall meeting, Gen. Stephen Lyons cited an aerosol test held Aug. 24-31 aboard two large passenger aircraft: the Boeing 767-300 and 777-200. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, better known as DARPA, teamed up with biodefense company Zeteo Tech Inc. to evaluate in-flight spread of airborne particles. Industry partners included Boeing and United Airlines.
“[The test] was an initiative initiated by TRANSCOM and supported by the Air Force and the test community to determine whether it’s safe to fly on commercial airliners,” Lyons said Wednesday. “And I have to tell you, their results, as were the results when we looked at this from the COVID patient movement challenge, are very, very encouraging.”
There are some qualifiers, Lyons noted.
