DOJ Sues Facebook for Discrimination

The Department of Justice on Thursday announced it has sued Facebook for discrimination against U.S. workers.

The tech giant with tens of thousands of employees, instead of hiring qualified and available U.S. residents for more than 2,600 jobs, or even considering them for jobs, “reserved for temporary visa holders” those positions.

The positions that were the subject of Facebook’s alleged discrimination against U.S. workers offered an average salary of $156,000, the DOJ reported.

The filing alleged, based on the department’s nearly two-year investigation, Facebook deliberately created a hiring system in which it denied “qualified U.S. workers a fair opportunity to learn about and apply for jobs that Facebook instead sought to channel to temporary visa holders Facebook wanted to sponsor for green cards,” the DOJ said.

“The Department of Justice’s lawsuit alleges that Facebook engaged in intentional and widespread violations of the law, by setting aside positions for temporary visa holders instead of considering interested and qualified U.S. workers,” Assistant Attorney General Eric S. Dreiband of the Civil Rights Division explained. “This lawsuit follows a nearly two-year investigation into Facebook’s practices and a ‘reasonable cause’ determination by the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. Our message to workers is clear: if companies deny employment opportunities by illegally preferring temporary visa holders, the Department of Justice will hold them accountable.” (Read more from “DOJ Sues Facebook for Discrimination” HERE)

U.S. Supreme Court Rules Against California’s Worship Bans

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Thursday against California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) restrictions on indoor worship services, agreeing with religious groups they are unconstitutional.

The High Court granted a petition from Harvest Rock Church in Pasadena that sought to overturn a lower court’s ruling in favor of Newsom’s restrictions.

The ruling cited the Supreme Court’s decision last week in a similar case in which it ruled in favor of faith groups that challenged New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) worship restrictions. . .

“Governor Gavin Newsom’s orders ban ALL in-person worship for 99.1 percent of Californians,” the nonprofit litigation firm stated, adding that while Newsom has banned the majority of in-person religious services, “warehouses, big box centers, shopping malls, liquors stores, family entertainment and destination centers, gyms, fitness centers, and museums receive preferential treatment with either no capacity limits or no numerical limits.” (Read more from “U.S. Supreme Court Rules Against California’s Worship Bans” HERE)

Whistleblowers: Postal Service Labeled Trump Mail ‘Undeliverable,’ 388,000 Ballots Backdated, ‘Disappear’; Congressman Asks Supreme Justice to Stop Pennsylvania Certification

By Washington Examiner. Several whistleblowers on Tuesday cast new uncertainty on the 2020 election process, claiming up to 288,000 ballots disappeared, another 100,000 were improperly backdated, and mail promoting President Trump was junked while mail for Joe Biden was delivered.

In the most extraordinary report, a U.S. Postal Service contractor said his trailer full of 144,000-288,000 completed mail-in ballots, which he drove between New York and Pennsylvania, disappeared after he delivered it to a Lancaster, Pennsylvania, depot.

Another claimed that ballots were backdated by postal workers, and in Traverse City, Michigan, Trump campaign mail was put in bins labeled “Undeliverable Bulk Business Mail” while the same type of mail for Joe Biden was ordered to be delivered on time.

And a third raised new issues about the integrity of Dominion voting machines.

Congressman Asks Supreme Justice to Stop Pennsylvania Certification

By WND. A congressman is among the plaintiffs who have filed an emergency request with Justice Samuel Alito of the U.S. Supreme Court to suspend further action to certify the Pennsylvania presidential election results.

The request from U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly and other individuals was filed after the state’s courts rejected all attempts to resolve the case.

At issue is a question of whether a state procedure adopted just for the 2020 election to allow expanded mail-in ballots violated a state constitutional requirement that votes be submitted in person, expect for a very few limited absentee ballots.

The case, reports RedState, means that America soon will know whether the Supreme Court will intervene in the numerous complaints of election fraud.

While establishment media have called the race for Joe President Trump has not conceded, and his campaign attorneys and others have filed complaints in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada. WATCH: Even CNN Is Fed up With Democrats Violating Their Own Coronavirus Guidelines

CNN’s Brianna Keilar ripped Democrats on Wednesday for violating their own coronavirus restrictions while lecturing constituents about the importance of everyone doing their part.

“A number of Democratic leaders apologizing or reversing course after multiple occurrences of ‘do as I say, not as I do,'” Keilar began. “They have been caught not following their own coronavirus guidelines.”

Keilar went through a long list of Democrat hypocrites who were caught saying one thing and doing another. She began with San Francisco Mayor London Breed, who was caught dining at the same ritzy restaurant in Napa that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) was spotted at the day before.

On Tuesday, Breed warned that restrictions in San Francisco weren’t working — I wonder why — and threatened to close all indoor dining if cases in the city continued to rise. . .

In the five-minute segment, CNN’s Keilar tore into Gov. Newsom for breaking his own restrictions. She also ripped Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, who voted to close down in-door dining before rushing off to a restaurant to enjoy one last meal. Keilar pointed out the hypocrisy of San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, who attended a large Thanksgiving gathering with elderly relatives after telling his constituents to cancel Thanksgiving plans and stay home, and the hypocrisy of Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, who also told people to avoid traveling before being spotted at the airport to spend Thanksgiving with his wife and daughter. McEnany’s Husband Attends White House Press Briefing Without Mask

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s husband, Sean Gilmartin, appeared without a mask in the White House briefing room on Wednesday and declined to cover his face after being asked to do so by a journalist.

The interaction between Gilmartin and the White House press corps came after McEnany, who generally does not wear a mask at the briefing room podium, conducted a 24-minute news conference.

Photographer Doug Mills of The New York Times initiated the exchange when he “politely pointed out” to Gilmartin, a professional baseball pitcher, rules mandating that masks be worn in White House press areas. . .

Mills confirmed to Johnson that Gilmartin was maskless for the entirety of the briefing, adding that he did not know Gilmartin was McEnany’s husband when he informed him about the mask rules. (Read more from “McEnany’s Husband Attends White House Press Briefing Without Mask” HERE)

More Than 1,000 Researchers Linked to Chinese Military Left U.S. After Summer Crackdown Began, DOJ Official Says

A top Justice Department official said more than 1,000 foreign researchers affiliated with the Chinese military left the United States following a crackdown this summer that resulted in half a dozen members of China’s People’s Liberation Army studying in the U.S. being arrested and charged with lying on their student visa applications.

The revelation was made by John Demers, the assistant attorney general for national security and the head of the Justice Department’s China Initiative, during a discussion with National Counterintelligence and Security Center Director William Evanina and Wall Street Journal reporter Aruna Viswanatha in an Aspen Cyber Summit video interview on Wednesday.

“Just this summer, we arrested five or six researchers who were here from China on visas who were affiliated with the People’s Liberation Army, the Chinese military, but who hadn’t disclosed that affiliation, had hidden that affiliation, when they applied for their visas. Those five or six arrests were just the tip of the iceberg, and honestly, the six of the iceberg is one that I don’t know that we or other folks realized how large it was when we began down that road,” Demers said. “But between those five and six arrests, between the dozens of interviews that the bureau did of individuals who were here under similar circumstances, and then ultimately the closure of the Houston consulate to disrupt both foreign influence activity and economic espionage activity, more than 1,000 PLA-affiliated Chinese researchers left the country.”

The DOJ official added: “So our prosecutions were just the beginning of that, but they allowed us to message to the Chinese government that if you’re going to send individuals here, you’ve gotta do so honestly, and you can’t do so hiding their affiliation to the PLA and Chinese military universities … What we’re trying to do in the cases is not just arrest that individual but disrupt a broader course of activity.” (Read more from “More Than 1,000 Researchers Linked to Chinese Military Left U.S. After Summer Crackdown Began, DOJ Official Says” HERE)

Ivanka Trump Deposed by DC Attorney General’s Office in Trump Inauguration Funds Lawsuit

Ivanka Trump, President Trump’s daughter and adviser, was deposed in a case involving alleged financial abuse of the president’s inaugural funds, according to court documents.

The D.C. attorney’s office revealed in a court filing that the younger Trump gave a deposition in the case on Tuesday. Her deposition is part of the D.C. attorney general’s lawsuit alleging the nonprofit presidential inaugural committee abused over $1 million in “improper payments” to the Trump hotel in Washington, D.C.

The attorney general’s office issued an investigative subpoena to the former friend of first lady Melania Trump, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who wrote a book documenting her declining relationship with the first lady, prior to its lawsuit after she voiced concerns the inaugural committee was overpaying the hotel. Voter Group Founded by Georgia Dem Under Investigation for Allegedly Registering Out-of-State, Dead Voters

Stacey Abrams’ voter registration group, The New Georgia Project, is one of three such organizations now under investigation by the Georgia Secretary of State amid concerns that certain voting rights groups were “seeking to ‘aggressively’ register ‘ineligible, out-of-state, or deceased voters’ before the state’s Jan. 5 Senate runoff election,” according to Fox News.

Abrams’ group, as well as America Votes and Vote Forward, are largely credited with putting Georgia in play for Democrats in the 2020 presidential election. Abrams even recently credited her own efforts to register Georgia voters and fight what she termed “voter suppression” with helping to secure a win in Georgia for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

President Donald Trump and his Republican supporters say those results are flawed. The president’s legal team demanded a hand recount in the state and, although a judge tossed a Trump campaign lawsuit seeking to overturn Georgia’s election results, per CNN, litigation on behalf of the president is ongoing.

Both of Georgia’s Senate seats are still up for grabs and, as a result, so is control of the Senate. Those seats will be decided in a runoff election on January 5th, with Republican incumbent David Perdue squaring off against Democrat John Ossof for Purdue’s seat and Republican Kelly Loeffler up against Raphael Warnock for the seat vacated by the death of John Lewis. Loeffler was appointed to the seat in 2019. (Read more from “Voter Group Founded by Georgia Dem Under Investigation for Allegedly Registering Out-of-State, Dead Voters” HERE)

Omar and Tlaib Headline Anti-Israel Hatefest

Democratic representatives Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), and Betty McCollum (Minn.) headlined a conference this weekend run by one of the nation’s most prolific anti-Israel advocacy groups, lending their support to an organization that champions boycotts of Israel and has partnered with individuals tied to terrorism.

The lawmakers, known for their anti-Israel rhetoric and promotion of anti-Semitic materials, appeared at the American Muslims for Palestine’s (AMP) annual conference, which was held virtually over Thanksgiving weekend. The conference featured outspoken critics of Israel, including those with reported ties to the Hamas terror group. AMP, which itself has been tied to terror financiers, is a leading promoter of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, which seeks to wage economic warfare on Israel by boycotting Jewish-made goods.

The lawmakers gave remarks alongside speakers such as Tarek Hamoud, executive director of the Palestinian Return Center, which has reportedly been linked to Hamas. Other speakers included Huwaida Arraf, a BDS promoter and lawyer who represented a Palestinian terrorist. AMP has also employed individuals who worked for the Holy Land Foundation, which was probed by the FBI in 2001 for illicitly funneling upward of $12 million to Hamas. AMP’s founder, Hatem Bazian, is the creator of Students for Justice in Palestine, a notoriously anti-Semitic campus group that has harassed and assaulted Jewish students.

During the three-day conference, speakers from across the pro-Palestinian advocacy scene discussed their efforts to push the incoming Biden administration into adopting a more hardline stance against Israel that includes rolling back critical U.S. security aid. Organizations like AMP are fighting for a seat at the table in Joe Biden’s White House, as lawmakers such as Omar and Tlaib work to mainstream anti-Israel voices.

Tlaib, in her remarks, lashed out at American “supporters of the occupation,” a reference to pro-Israel organizations in America that support Israel’s right to exist. She claimed these groups are “working to criminalize our right to boycott and organize—literally our freedom of speech and First Amendment.” (Read more from “Omar and Tlaib Headline Anti-Israel Hatefest” HERE)

Consulting Firm Founded by Biden’s Secretary of State Pick Just Scrubbed Its Website of All Business Ties to Communist China

WestExec, a consulting firm co-founded in 2017 by Joe Biden’s pick for secretary of state, Antony Blinken, scrubbed one of its services offering U.S. research universities the opportunity to garner funds from foreign donors, such as those in China.

In July, the company listed “U.S. research universities” as a beneficiary of its services, assisting prominent colleges by “expanding foreign research collaboration, accepting foreign donations, and welcoming foreign students in key STEM programs” without violating any Department of Defense-sponsored research grants, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

By August, however, the WestExec’s section detailing “Managing China-related Risk in an Era of Strategic Competition” was revised, offering a new example detailing its services for a U.S. manufacturing firm.

The Free Beacon noted that the change occurred mere “weeks before Biden accepted his nomination at the Democratic National Convention in late August.” (Read more from “Consulting Firm Founded by Biden’s Secretary of State Pick Just Scrubbed Its Website of All Business Ties to Communist China” HERE)
