Report: Foreign Companies Are Giving up on the United States and Betting Big on China

Foreign companies are turning their backs on the United States, taking advantage of China’s booming economy and superior management of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Direct investment in the US by foreign companies plummeted 49% to $134 billion last year, according to a report released Sunday by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. By contrast, foreign direct investment in China grew by 4% to $163 billion in 2020.

2020 marked the first year in history that foreign direct investment in China overtook that of the US, according to the UN. China is now the world’s largest recipient of foreign companies’ investments. . .

After hitting a high of $440 billion in 2015, according to the US Commerce Department, foreign investment in the US has been on a sharp downward slide. Former President Donald Trump’s go-it-alone trade policies hurt foreign investment — particularly from China, which represented the sharpest drop in US investment over the past several years. Tucker Carlson Reveals Email Sent to ICE Officers After Biden’s Deportation Order

Fox News host Tucker Carlson revealed Friday that his team exclusively obtained an email showing how Immigration and Customs Enforcement was directed to carry out one of President Joe Biden’s executive orders on immigration. . .

Carlson said that his team obtained an internal email sent to ICE officers in Texas.

The email read, “As of midnight tonight, stop all removals. This includes Mexican bus runs, charter flights and commercial removals (until further notice) … all cases are to be considered [no significant likelihood of removal in foreseeable future].”

“Release them all, immediately. No sponsor available is not acceptable any longer,” the message added.

VA Doctor Sentenced to Prison After Sexually Assaulting Veteran Patients

A former Veterans Affairs Doctor in West Virginia, Jonathan Yates, has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting veteran patients.

“According to the plea documents, Yates rubbed the genitals of two veterans and digitally penetrated a third veteran’s rectum under the guise of legitimate medicine, when in fact he acted without a legitimate medical purpose. This conduct, performed while Yates was acting under color of law in his capacity as a VA physician and a federal employee, deprived the veterans of their constitutional right to bodily integrity and caused them pain. According to the plea documents, the veterans had sought treatment from Yates to manage chronic pain through osteopathic manipulative therapy. Several veterans addressed the court at sentencing, describing the trauma and mental anguish that Yates had caused them. Yates surrendered his medical licenses as a condition of his plea agreement,” the Department of Justice released in a statement Monday.

Here’s the New Office Trump Will Hold

Former President Donald Trump on Monday announced the launch of his official post-presidency office, which will be headquartered in Palm Beach, Florida.

According to an announcement from the “Office of the Former President,” the office will handle all of Trump’s “correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump Administration through advocacy, organizing, and public activism.”

The Left’s Anti-Science School Closures Are Killing More Students Than the Virus

Almost a year after COVID-19 reached the United States and government-mandated lockdowns began shutting down nearly every aspect of American life, many schools across the nation have yet to reopen for in-person learning.

While the science and data, previously ignored by the virtue-signaling left, suggests that educational leaders should seriously consider ending virtual schooling for the sake of students’ mental health and academic advancement, many school districts remain closed, offering only online classes or virtual learning options to millions of children and teens.

Even as the COVID-19 vaccine becomes more readily available to members of the community, including teachers, authoritative voices in the education world have expressed hesitancy and even cast doubt on the decision to abolish remote learning. . .

Despite parents’ growing opposition, as recorded by Pew Research, to the difficulty and dangers that come with remote learning and concerns about their children’s mental health and educational growth, the schools that have returned to hybrid learning or only offered a small selection of students the option to be in the classroom are receiving strong pushback from teachers unions that claim the return is unsafe and will result in the deaths of staff and students. . .

Despite the clear complications of virtual learning for students, teachers, and parents, especially those who work outside the home, school districts are extending their remote learning period, some beyond the date that they first began teaching over Zoom in March 2020. These educational institutions that receive federal tax dollars to operate are denying children the educations that they not only want but have been declared necessary by health officials, including Anthony Fauci.

The infectious diseases specialist that double-masking is a logical way to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Impeachment Article Delivered to Senate for Second Trial Against Trump

The nine House Democrats tapped as prosecutors in the second Senate trial against former President Donald Trump have officially delivered an article of impeachment to the upper chamber.

The managers put on a somber display marching ceremoniously through the U.S. Capitol on Monday to present the Senate with its single article that alleges Trump incited an insurrection through his actions surrounding the Jan. 6 attack on the very same building by a mob of Trump supporters.

The Hill reported that the lower chamber “impeached Trump 12 days ago and Senate leaders have agreed to postpone the start of the public trial until the week of Feb. 8.” The longest-serving Democrat in the upper chamber, Senate President Pro Tempore Patrick Leahy of Vermont, announced Monday that he would preside over the trial rather than Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court John Roberts.

Ten House Republicans joined Democrats in voting for impeaching Trump, making the condemnation a bipartisan effort as opposed to the first impeachment of the then-president last year when no GOP members cast a vote in favor of his ouster. Gun Store Says It Won’t Sell Firearms, Ammunition to Biden Supporters

A Missouri gun store is turning more than a few heads after announcing that it’s not selling guns or ammunition to supporters of Democratic President Joe Biden.

Oh, and Trigger Firearms and Reloading in Jefferson City posted its Facebook message on Inauguration Day, no less:

We don’t have guns or ammo for Biden Supporters. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Justice Inspector General to Investigate ‘Improper’ Influence on Election

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Monday announced the launch of an investigation into whether any former or current DOJ official tried to “alter the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.”

The Washington Examiner reported the announcement follows a report Friday claiming that then-President Trump and a top DOJ lawyer planned to have the acting attorney general, Jeffrey Rosen, removed from his post to clear the way for an investigation of claims of voter fraud in the Nov. 3 election.

Horowitz said his office is making the announcement “to reassure the public that an appropriate agency is investigating the allegations.”
