Parler Resumes Operations on New Servers and Maintains Free Speech Model

Parler announced on Monday that it will resume operations on a new platform after previously being removed from Amazon servers due to disputes regarding its terms of service, calling itself the “world’s #1 free speech social media platform.”

“Parler was built to offer a social media platform that protects free speech and values privacy and civil discourse. When Parler was taken offline in January by those who desire to silence tens of millions of Americans, our team came together, determined to keep our promise to our highly engaged community that we would return stronger than ever. We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back,” Mark Meckler, Parler’s interim CEO, said in a statement. “Parler is being run by an experienced team and is here to stay. We will thrive as the premier social media platform dedicated to free speech, privacy and civil dialogue.”

Amazon Web Services shut down Parler’s servers on Jan. 11, days after the app was removed from Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store.

Meckler told Just the News that the 20 million users who are currently signed up to Parler can use their old login information to get back on the free social media service beginning on Monday. Most users should be able to access the social media site after midday, once the new servers are disseminated across the internet. Pigs Can Play Video Games With Their Snouts, Scientists Find

Pigs can play video games, scientists have found, after putting four fun-loving swine to the test.

Four pigs – Hamlet, Omelette, Ebony and Ivory – were trained to use an arcade-style joystick to steer an on-screen cursor into walls.

Researchers said the fact that the pigs understood the connection between the stick and the game “is no small feat”.

And the pigs even continued playing when the food reward dispenser broke – apparently for the social contact.

According to a study from WalletHub [see it below] based on anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity and laziness, the home of Sin City is also the most sinful place in the USA, which should come as a surprise to exactly zero people!

New Biden K-12 Plan Will Cancel Sports for Nearly 83 Percent of Counties

On Friday the Biden administration released an “Operational Strategy for K-12 Schools through Phased Mitigation” plan that will leave about 83 percent of counties closed for sports and extracurricular activities. That amounts to 2,599 out of 3,138 counties.

The plan divides counties into statuses: blue for “low,” yellow for “moderate,” orange for “substantial,” and red for “high.” In the high red transmission category, “sports and extracurricular activities are virtual only.”

In other words, student athletes can kiss organized sports goodbye for the time being.

According to the most recent CDC guidance, which Biden is relying on for threshold definitions, 391 counties are in the orange phase (12.5 percent), 148 are in yellow (4.7 percent), and only one is in blue phase. Dems Include Money for Abortion Providers in COVID Relief Bill

Tucked inside the Biden administration’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package is a provision to restore millions in government funding to Planned Parenthood.

The $1.9 trillion stimulus package Democrats say aims to reboot the economy provides a $50 million boost to the Title X family planning program, which under the Biden administration will supply abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood with government funds. The Trump administration had amended Title X to make abortion providers ineligible for the funds, which are intended for health services and family planning, but the change is in the process of being reversed, restoring a giant revenue stream for Planned Parenthood.

While the stimulus is intended to reboot an economy suffering the after-effects of COVID-19 and government restrictions on economic activity, it also features major progressive policy goals. In addition to expanding taxpayer funding for abortion services, the aid package also includes a provision to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Senate Democrats are planning on using the budget reconciliation process to pass the package, meaning it can pass with just 50 votes in favor and Vice President Kamala Harris breaking the tie.

The boost to the Title X program comes after lengthy battles over Planned Parenthood’s role in government funding and stimulus packages. Some states declared abortion to be an essential service and allowed abortion clinics to remain open while others ordered the clinics to close as part of coronavirus-related shutdowns. In Pennsylvania, for example, Gov. Tom Wolf (D.) ordered all elective surgeries suspended during the crisis while exempting abortion clinics. Study Reveals How Much Deadlier UK COVID Variant Found in U.S. Could Be

The COVID-19 variant that originated in the UK and is now spreading in the US may be up to 70 percent deadlier than previous versions of the bug, according to a British study.

A group that includes experts from universities and public agencies in the UK found that the variant — known as B.1.1.7 — is likely about 30 percent to 70 percent deadlier than the original strain, according to Fox News.

Scientists had already determined that the so-called Kent variant — named after the county where it was first detected — was probably that much more transmissible.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted last month that it “may also be associated with a higher degree of mortality.”

Study: Inhaling This Treatment Reduces Severe COVID Risk 90%

At the start of the COVID pandemic, doctors and scientists were on the hunt for successful treatments that could lessen the virus’s toll. By this point, quite a few promising candidates have emerged, many of which are already on the market to treat other illnesses. Now, another potential COVID treatment joins the list in the form of a widely available and extensively tested inhaler, traditionally used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). According to a new study by NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), which has yet to be peer-reviewed, the drug budesonide was found to reduce the risk of severe illness by 90 percent. . .

Observing a total of 146 subjects, the researchers gave half of the group a budesonide inhaler for twice-daily doses of 800 micrograms, and the other half a placebo for a period of 28 days. Those who took the treatment were not only 90 percent less likely to require urgent care, they also reportedly benefited from shorter lengths of fever, and fewer long-term symptoms.

“I am encouraged to see the reduction in persistent symptoms at 14 and 28 days after treatment with budesonide,” Mona Bafadhel, MD, a professor and respiratory consultant also working at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, shared on the University of Oxford website. “Persistent symptoms after the initial COVID-19 illness have emerged as a long-term problem. Country Confirms Ebola Resurgence, Declares New Epidemic

Health officials in Guinea on Sunday confirmed that at least three people have died from Ebola there, the first cases declared since it was one of three West African nations to fight the world’s deadliest Ebola epidemic that ended five years ago.

An additional four people are confirmed with Ebola, according to a statement from the ministry of health. All seven positive cases attended the funeral of a nurse in Goueke on Feb. 1 and later showed Ebola symptoms including a fever, diarrhea, vomiting, said the ministry statement.

The government has declared an Ebola epidemic and started contact tracing and isolating suspected cases. It’s also sent an emergency team to support local teams in Goueke and has accelerated the procurement of Ebola vaccines from the World Health Organization. GOP Rep: Impeachment Was About Democrats Framing 75 Million Trump Supporters as Capitol Hill Rioters

Democrats used their impeachment pursuit against former President Donald Trump as an attempt to “equate” 75 million Americans who voted for Trump with “the couple hundred criminals who came in an ransacked the Capitol,” Rep. Mike Johnson said (R-LA) in an interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak.

Johnson said the Democrats’ “ultimate goal” with impeachment was to frame Trump’s supporters as indistinguishable from Capitol rioters.

“They really wanted to use impeachment as a vehicle because they wanted to equate all those tens of millions of Trump’s voters and all of his supporters and everybody who came to the rally, they wanted to equate all of those people with the couple hundred criminals who came in and ransacked the Capitol,” Johnson stated.

More than 1.8 million energy customers in Texas are without power, with The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) initiating rotating outages.

Power Outage US reports that nearly two million Texans are without power as numerous energy providers implement controlled outages to control the flow of power. Texas is being hit by a winter storm and facing freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall.
