Social-Media CEO Urges Americans to Delete Big Tech Apps, Build Christian Economy

Gab.com is an online community where freedom of speech is paramount, with no “fact-checking” of “political opinions, news, history, math problems, memes, or anything else.”

With that objective, it’s not surprising it’s been banned from app stores and deplatformed by Silicon Valley giants.

Gab CEO Andrew Torba, who signs off on his commentaries with “Jesus is King,” says that recently his company has been dumped by a bank, a server-hardware company, an infrastructure analysis software operation and an accountant. . .

He said the problem is that many Christians think that to “be in the world, but not of the world” means giving “our money, time and data” to enemies.

“This has got to stop, right now,” he wrote. (Read more from “Social-Media CEO Urges Americans to Delete Big Tech Apps, Build Christian Economy” HERE)

Gun Sales SOAR Nationwide; How Many Guns Did Americans Purchase in January?

By The Daily Item. Federal background checks for firearm purchases hit record totals across the nation and in Pennsylvania in 2020, continuing a trend of increased checks coinciding with presidential election years.

The reasons for the increase in background checks and firearm sales, particularly in late 2020, those in the industry and gun owners say, are varied.

Some are concerned the new Biden administration will layer additional restrictions on gun and ammunition sales.

Others are concerned with growing division across the nation and distrust of law enforcement personnel.

Some simply want to protect themselves and their homes or are concerned about law enforcement being able to protect them. (Read more from “Firearms Sales Hit Record Highs in Pennsylvania, Nationwide” HERE)

Boom in Gun Sales Continues in 2021

By Toledo Blade. Toledo-area gun store owners are reporting bare shelves and a months-long backlog as the demand for firearms and especially ammunition continues to exceed the supply.

They expect the 2020 record firearm and ammunition sales levels to continue at least for several months until pandemic-based anxiety and increased societal division subside.

Local stores are reporting an influx of first-time gun buyers, pointing to doubts about the election and fears that President Biden might keep his gun-control campaign promises. (Read more from “Boom in Gun Sales Continues in 2021” HERE)

How Many Guns Did Americans Purchase in January?

By Townhall. Democrats control both chambers of Congress and the White House. One of their top priorities, outside of another coronavirus relief package, is pushing a radical gun control agenda. Once again, Americans are rejecting that policy position and showing support for the Second Amendment, as evidenced by the latest numbers released from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

The FBI conducted 4.31 million background checks in the month of January, its highest on record since November 1998. . .

According to Mark Oliva, the NSSF’s Director of Public Affairs, the Biden administration and their anti-gun stance have fueled Americans’ purchasing decisions, especially when it comes to firearms. . .

“January’s NICS figures clearly spell out that the demand of law-abiding Americans to purchase firearms isn’t abating. It is growing. Three of the top 10 weeks and one top 10 single day for the highest number of FBI NICS background checks occurred in January,” he explained. “Taken into context that all but one of the top 10 weeks and four other top 10 single-day records occurred during the 2020, when 21 million background checks were conducted, these are a jaw-dropping figures to start the New Year. Americans are claiming their Second Amendment rights to provide for their own safety in record numbers.” (Read more from “How Many Guns Did Americans Purchase in January?” HERE)

Disturbing Footage: Rochester Police Handcuff and Pepper-Spray 9-Year-Old Girl, Police Body-Camera Shows

The Rochester, New York Police Department released body-camera footage Sunday showing a 9-year-old girl being handcuffed and pepper-sprayed by officers who were responding to a domestic disturbance, reportedly including a potentially stolen vehicle.

Last Friday afternoon, officers received a 911 call reporting “family trouble” and upon arrival found a 9-year-old girl dressed in a black hoodie and colored leggings. The girl “indicated that she wanted to kill herself, and she wanted to kill her mom,” Deputy Police Chief Andre Anderson said at a press conference Sunday. Other reports indicate that during the call, officers were approached by the girl’s custodial parent, who said she was afraid her daughter would harm herself or others.

The 9-year-old initially tried running away, Anderson said. Video footage shows an officer chasing her and attempting to provide assistance, telling the girl to “come here” and assuring her she was “not in trouble.” The girl’s mother later arrived, kicking off an argument between mother and daughter in which the mother hurled profanities and insults at the child.

Screaming and crying, the girl repeatedly told officers, “I want my dad.” Footage shows the girl resisting law enforcement, and she appears to have been handcuffed lying down in the snow while pleading with officers to stop. Anderson said officers were trying to escort the girl to the hospital, in accordance with the state’s Mental Hygiene law, but she refused to get into the back of the police car, at one point kicking an officer. . .

When the girl was halfway inside the police car, refusing to get fully inside as officers commanded, a female officer said, “This is your last chance, otherwise pepper spray’s going in your eyeballs.” Law enforcement tried to get her to relax and take a deep breath, but about a minute later, a different officer said, “Just spray her at this point.” The female officer is seen shaking a can that appears to be pepper-spray and reportedly discharged the irritant into the girl’s face.

Yale Doctor Slams Fauci for His Dismissal of Hydroxychloroquine

A Yale University doctor took aim at Dr. Anthony Fauci for the infectious disease expert’s dismissal of hydroxychloroquine as a potential treatment for COVID-19.

“I really wish Dr. Fauci would say something in terms of evidence. He never quotes any studies. It’s hard to know if he has any evidence,” Dr. Harvey Risch said of Fauci’s dismissal of the drug during an appearance on the Ingraham Angle. “The study we published is a review of all of the evidence for early treatment as a whole.”

Risch continued by pointing out that there are many treatments that work well in addition to hydroxychloroquine.

“It’s not just one drug,” Risch said. “It’s not just hydroxychloroquine. There are many drugs that can be used, as we have seen this week. … There is a whole new repertoire … of drugs that work in early treatment. And we combine them to get maximal benefits. That’s how we treat early COVID, and it works well.”

“It’s astonishing,” Risch continued. “Everything has become politicized, and it’s like Big Brother is watching over every … move with a script behind the scenes that nobody understands. These drugs are inexpensive. They are generic. Nobody is making a huge profit over them, and maybe that’s the bottom line.” (Read more from “Yale Doctor Slams Fauci for His Dismissal of Hydroxychloroquine” HERE)

House Committee to Consider Removing GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene From Positions

The House Rules Committee announced on Monday that it would take up measures to remove Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments.

If passed by the House, Resolution 72 would effectively remove Greene from her seats on both the House Education & Labor Committee and the House Budget Committee. The Rules Committee is scheduled to meet about Greene on Wednesday.

The resolution to remove Greene, authored by Representative Deborah Wasserman Schultz, alleges that her recent conduct violates clause 1 of rule 23, which states that, “A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House shall behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.”

Before introducing the measure, Wasserman Schultz told reporters, “We’re focused on making sure that we can render powerless the poisonous nature of this member. The House has to be able to take actions to police its own membership.” (Read more from “House Committee to Consider Removing GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene From Positions” HERE)

Of Prop 2 and Alaskan Elections

The lawsuit being handled by Attorney Ken Jacobus on behalf of myself, Scott Kohlhaas and the Alaskan Independence Party, ought to be given close attention by all Alaskans. The Prop 2 initiative, funded by about 99% of money from the Lower 48, snuck under the radar to a delayed “victory” after November 3rd.

That is, if Alaskans believe that the integrity of our elections is valid. With the overthrow of states’ rights by the federal courts on-going for decades, more recently against the executive and legislative branches by the Alaskan judiciary, and a courtier press managing to keep these facts suppressed, we may never know again with any confidence what the will of the voters will be, on both the state and federal levels.

The swarm of mail-in absentee ballots had a fishy smell to them what with the court-ordered failure to require Witness Signatures. That decision was a shock even to the election bureaucracy and the Lt. Governor, who has the constitutional executive authority to oversee elections. And since the 2020 election chose federal presidential electors, one might reasonably argue that the state supreme court violated the U.S. Constitution in Article II, Sec. 1, par. 2: it says that the state legislatures will direct the manner of choosing electors — with no mention to any governor or the state courts.

Add to this the tardy admission that the Dominion data base was hacked or “exposed”, and the sky is the limit as to where reasonable people might speculate. Alaskans will not be put off by tut-tut assurances uttered by patronizing media gatekeepers or elected officials. Who trusts them any more?

With Prop 2, RINO Republicans and Democrats are claiming that Lisa Murkowski now looks bullet-proof in any Republican primary run. Of course, anyone who pulled off a miraculously unheard of re-election by write-ins in 2010 hardly needs to worry, but it gives her yet another safety net from her family-feathered Senate office.

One is also given to wonder why Glen Clary, the Alaskan GOP state chairman, will not defend his own party’s interests and join the AIP lawsuit. After all, it was by a unilateral action by Republicans in the 1990s that the Alaskan primary was changed, specifically to avoid the Arliss Sturgulewski syndrome. A RINO before the name was invented, Sturgulewski won two separate primaries for governor in 1986 and 1990 by having authentic conservatives splinter the vote and getting Democrats to pad her margins in the former open primary.

Alaskans need to know what Prop 2 is going to do to the elections and how it is going to damage election options in the general election. There will be a free-for-all elimination by the top four candidates. Using the actual results from 2010, we will round out the numbers and see what happened if Prop 2 was in effect.

Joe Miller – 55,000 – R

Lisa Murkowski- 53,000 – R

Scott McAdams – 18,000 – D

Jacob Kern – 7,000 – D

Fred Haase – 5700 – L

Frank Vondersaar – 5300 – D

Fred Haase, a sturdy and principled Libertarian candidate, would have been eliminated, as well as the perennial armchair Democrat Vondersaar. Alaskan statutes requires that for a political party to be officially “recognized”, it must have a statewide candidate garner at least 3% of the vote in the general election, but here we see that the Libertarian Party would not even make it that far.

Nor the Greens, Alaskan Independence, Veterans, Constitution or any others.

Some years ago there were no less than twelve US Senate candidates, with six serious ones who were either well-financed or conducted statewide campaigns. It would have resulted in three Republicans and one Democrat in the General Election, with no AIP, Libertarian or other party making the cut.

And — SURPRISE! — The “Sturgulewski Effect” would have kicked in for the General Election, with conservatives making their choices among the GOP. To be fair, Prop 2 enables the “Ranked Choice” to avoid this in the general election, but how many of us really believe the majority of voters understand or would utilize the system?

There are other problems with state interference into primary elections. As it now stands, the AIP by-laws require that its candidate for governor should be chosen by the convention method — yet a state statute specifically denies it. It takes a lot of guts for the state to dictate how a party should conduct its own affairs, but that’s what we get when we permit state funding: we get state dependency and control.

The only solution this author can offer would be to return to what primary elections are supposed to be: completely closed, where a privately controlled entity brooks no interference from either the government or non-party members, and pays for the costs, either through pre-paid party dues or a poll tax.

Biden’s DOJ Nominee Prosecuted Black Man Sentenced to 27 Years in Prison for Selling $20 Worth of Drugs

President Joe Biden’s nominee to serve as deputy attorney general helped prosecute a black man who was sentenced to 27 years in prison for selling $20 worth of heroin to an undercover police officer. The government dropped charges against the man’s co-defendant as part of a plea deal, court records show.

Lisa Monaco, who Biden tapped for the Justice Department position, was one of the assistant U.S. attorneys who prosecuted a case in 2003 against Reginald C. Steward, a Washington, D.C. man who was charged following an undercover drug bust.

Steward was arrested in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 20, 2002 and was charged with unlawful distribution of heroin, according to court records.

He was convicted at a jury trial on April 16, 2003, and was sentenced to 27 years in prison. An appeals court in 2007 upheld Steward’s conviction, but noted that the evidence presented against him at trial wasn’t “overwhelming.”

But Steward’s co-defendant, who physically conducted the drug exchange with the undercover police officer, had his charges dropped after he pleaded guilty to drug possession in another case. Court records for the man, Bobby Praylow, show that he received a 12-month jail sentence. More Americans Have Now Been Vaccinated for COVID-19 Than Infected

More Americans have been vaccinated for COVID-19, as of Monday, than have been infected with the illness as the nationwide inoculation rollout continues, according to a report.

According to a Bloomberg Vaccine Tracker, 26.5 million people in the US have now received at least one dose of the vaccine, surpassing the 26.2 million coronavirus cases since the onset of the pandemic.

“It’s worth noting that today, for the first time, the data said that more people were vaccinated than were reported as newly diagnosed cases,” Paula Cannon, a professor at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, told the outlet. Democrat Official at Center of Trump Election Concerns Resigns

By New York Post. The Pennsylvania secretary of state who emerged as a villain to supporters of former President Donald Trump said Monday she will resign for failing to comply with an unrelated state election law.

Kathy Boockvar, a Democrat, will leave office on Feb. 5. Her office botched the handling of a state constitutional amendment that would allow more sexual abuse victims to sue their alleged abusers.

In a statement, she said, “I’ve always believed that accountability and leadership must be a cornerstone of public service. While I only became aware of the mistake last week, and immediately took steps to alert the administration to the error, I accept the responsibility on behalf of the department.”

Pennsylvania law requires that proposed amendments pass the state legislature twice. The secretary of state’s office must publicize the proposed amendment in two newspapers in each of the state’s 67 counties ahead of the election between votes, which her office failed to do. New Trump PAC Raised $31.5 Million in the Weeks After Election Day

By The Washington Post. Former president Donald Trump’s new political action committee raised $31.5 million in the weeks after Election Day through a flurry of fundraising appeals purporting to fight election fraud and help Republicans maintain their majority in the Senate, new filings show. . .

In all, the official committees supporting Trump and the Republican Party raised more than $290 million since his Nov. 3 election defeat — a staggering amount by an outgoing president that highlights Trump’s lasting influence on the party and its fundraising apparatus. 2nd Amendment Group Shoots Signs Banning Firearms at Public Parks

Members of a Second Amendment activist group stole signs prohibiting firearms posted at public parks and shot through them before returning them to Bren Mar Park early Monday morning.

Members of the Virginia Gray Ranks shot the signs as a form of protest against the restriction of firearm possession, including for those with concealed carry permits, at public parks, Spokesperson Mat Rose told the Daily Caller News Foundation. The signs were posted after the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted 9-1 to prohibit firearms from municipal government facilities including parks, community centers and county buildings on Sept. 15, 2020, the Fort Hunt Herald reported.

“They want to put up signs we’ll take them down, they want to go farther than that we will too,” Rose told the DCNF. The signs were targeted to “put a little bit of a hit on the city’s wallet, but not one that actually hurts people,” Rose added.

The Virginia Gray Ranks are deliberately targeting new signs that have been posted, not including schools or any other previously established gun-free zones, Rose told the DCNF.

Signs at Richmond and Fairfax county parks were the first in a series of “proportionate responses” and the rest of the state can expect to see similar forms of protests soon, Rose told the DCNF. (Read more from “2nd Amendment Group Shoots Signs Banning Firearms at Public Parks” HERE)
