GOP Rep. Says He Is Subject of Sex Investigation, but Claims He’s the Target of an ‘Extortion’ Plot

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said Tuesday he is a subject in a federal sex trafficking investigation, though he denies any wrongdoing and says he is the victim of a $25 million extortion plot.

On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that the Justice Department is investigating whether Gaetz, a Republican, had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl.

According to the Times, which cited three people familiar with the matter, the Justice Department opened the investigation at the end of the Trump administration. . .

In statements to the Times, Gaetz said he was the subject of an investigation. To Axios, Gaetz denied all wrongdoing and claimed he was being extorted by a former official at the Justice Department.

He added more detail in his denial on Twitter, and suggested that the Times story was part of a ploy to uncover the people trying to extort him.

Man’s Skin PEELS OFF After Reaction to COVID Vaccine

A Goochland County man suffered a severe reaction after getting his COVID-19 vaccine and VCU doctors believe it was a direct result of the shot.

Richard Terrell got the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine earlier this month. He suffered a severe rash that spread over his entire body and turned his skin red. The 74-year-old was admitted to the hospital and spent five days at VCU Medical Center. . .

“It all just happened so fast. My skin peeled off,” Terrell said as he looked down. “It’s still coming off on my hands now.” . . .

“I began to feel a little discomfort in my armpit and then a few days later I began to get an itchy rash, and then after that I began to swell and my skin turned red,” Terrell explained.

Terrell told 8News as days passed, things got worse. He had a consultation with a dermatologist and was told to go to the emergency room; on March 19 Terrell was admitted. The rash quickly spread over Terrell’s body. His legs and hands were almost unrecognizable from swelling and his skin was red and patchy. The dog reportedly bit a National Park Service employee on the White House South Lawn Monday afternoon.

Some countries including Denmark, have already begun implementing a digital or paper proof of vaccination that allows a person to enter a venue or board public transportation.

“‘Vaccine passport’ sounds like a fine thing if you don’t understand what these platforms can do,” Wolf said. “I’m the CEO of a tech company. I understand what this platform does. It is not about the vaccine or the virus, it is about your data. What people need to understand is that any other functionality can be loaded onto that platform with no problem at all.” . . .

“Microsoft is talking about merging it with payment plans, your networks can be sucked up, it geolocates you wherever you go. The Biden Administration Is Developing a National Coronavirus ‘Vaccine-Passport’ Program for Americans

By Yahoo. The Biden administration is working on a vaccine-passport program that would allow people to prove they have received a coronavirus vaccination before entering venues that have been closed during the pandemic, such as offices or movie theatres, The Washington Post and CNN reported.

Five officials, who spoke anonymously, told The Post that the White House is pushing efforts by federal agencies and private companies to develop the program.

Vaccine passports have been widely touted around the world as a way for commerce to start returning to normal while reducing the risk of COVID-19 outbreaks. They could be required for entry to sports arenas, music venues, or restaurants, or to travel internationally.

The passports will likely take the form of a scannable code displayed on smartphones, private developers told The Post, while users without smartphones will be able to print codes onto paper. Derek Chauvin’s Lawyers ‘Arguing That George Floyd Does Not Deserve Justice’: Cori Bush

By Fox News. Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., said Tuesday that defense lawyers for fired police officer Derek Chauvin are “arguing that George Floyd does not deserve justice” and described the news cycle surrounding the trial as “trauma.”

On Tuesday, the mixed martial arts fighter who witnessed Chauvin’s May 2020 arrest of Floyd told a jury he called 911 after watching the events unfold because he believed he “witnessed a murder.”

The trial continued into its second day on Tuesday for Chauvin, a 45-year-old former officer who was seen on video holding his knee against Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes during the May 25 arrest. He is facing charges of second- and third-degree murder and manslaughter.

Bush has advocated for positions that include restricting qualified immunity for officers. She praised Democrats’ “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act” for addressing the topic earlier in March. WHOOPS: A Young Child Sent Out a Tweet on Strategic Command’s Twitter Account

An unintelligible tweet was sent out by the U.S. Strategic Command (Stratcom) Twitter account on Sunday night that left followers concerned and confused, the Daily Dot reported.

A small child accidentally tweeted “;l;;gmlxzssaw” on the Stratcom account, causing widespread confusion, according to the Daily Dot. After about thirty minutes, the accidental tweet was deleted and followers were asked to disregard the tweet. However, the message was retweeted 11,000 times prior to deletion, according to The Hill.

Stratcom emphasized the account was not hacked but rather the Twitter account’s manager left his computer unattended and his child accidentally sent the tweet, according to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed by The Daily Dot.

The prominent members of Trump’s White House Coronavirus Task Force said in a CNN special that Trump imperiled the public — but in his rebuttal, Trump accused them of shifting blame.

Trump included jabs at Fauci’s botched opening pitch at a baseball game in July and Birx’s controversy involving a seemingly hypocritical Thanksgiving trip.

“Based on their interviews, I felt it was time to speak up about Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx, two self-promoters trying to reinvent history to cover for their bad instincts and faulty recommendations, which I fortunately almost always overturned,” Trump said in the emailed statement.

A 12-year-old Colorado boy was reportedly left brain dead after using a shoelace in the “Blackout Challenge,” which dares people to choke themselves until they lose consciousness.

Joshua Haileyesus, who was found by his twin brother passed out on his bathroom floor on March 22, has since been declared brain dead – and doctors told the family to prepare to say their goodbyes, Fox 19 reported.

“He’s a fighter. I can see him fighting. I’m praying for him every day,” said Joshua’s father, Haileyesus Zeryihun, according to the outlet. . .

Joshua’s parents said the boy has often used social media, which has helped him learn and gain connections to new passions such as cooking, guitar and acting. He was exposed to the positive aspects of social media and technology, but also was exposed to their dangers, they said. . .

Ghislaine Maxwell Charged With Sex Trafficking 14-Year-Old

Federal prosecutors filed two sex-trafficking charges on Monday against Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate to the late Jeffrey Epstein, expanding the criminal case against her with a fourth alleged victim.

The British socialite, aged 59, is now accused of grooming and paying a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual acts with Epstein, according to the indictment from federal prosecutors in Manhattan.

Prosecutors allege between 2001 and 2004, the then-teenager, identified as “Minor Victim-4,” gave Epstein multiple nude massages in which the two engaged in sexual acts. . .

The superseding indictment said Maxwell “sought to normalize inappropriate and abusive conduct by, among other things, discussing sexual topics in front of minor victim-4 and being present when Minor Victim-4 was nude in the massage room of the Palm Beach residence.”
