WATCH: At Least Two People Reportedly Shot Outside U.S. Capitol

By New York Post. An army of cops descended on the US Capitol on Friday and the building was placed on lockdown amid reports of a car smashing through a barrier.

There were unconfirmed reports of a shooting and people being taken away on stretchers.

U.S. Capitol Police: 2 officers injured, person arrested in external security threat

By WHNT News 19. U.S. Capitol Police say all Capitol buildings were being locked down “due to an external security threat” and staff members were told they could not enter or exit the buildings.

The person arrested and the two officers were taken to the hospital.

CRITICAL INCIDENT: USCP is responding to the North Barricade vehicle access point along Independence Avenue for reports someone rammed a vehicle into two USCP officers. A suspect is in custody. Both officers are injured. All three have been transported to the hospital. pic.twitter.com/4TXIdulJc6
