Report: Why Was Trump’s Ex-Attorney Michael Cohen Eating at a Swank Restaurant While Under House Arrest?

Michael Cohen — who is still on house arrest — was spotted at fancy French bistro Le Bilboquet on the Upper East Side Wednesday night, after generating a flurry of headlines by eating at the same spot nearly a year ago.

Cohen, 54, pled guilty to campaign finance fraud stemming from hush-money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels and ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal — as well as tax evasion and lying to Congress — and was sentenced to three years.

He was released from prison in May 2020 due to concerns about coronavirus, and has been serving out the remainder of his sentence — ending in November — under house arrest.

Cohen’s lawyer Jeffrey K. Levine tells us that for Wednesday evening’s dining out, Cohen “got special permission from the BOP [Bureau of Prisons} and RRM [Residential Reentry Management] to eat out. Top U.S. General Blasts China for ‘Cover-up’ of COVID-19 Origins

The U.S. military’s top general said late Wednesday the evidence for the origins of COVID-19 remains “inconclusive” but blasted the Chinese government for its efforts to “cover-up” the investigation into the virus’ origins.

Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Fox News while aboard a military aircraft while returning from the Air Force Academy that his opinion on the origins of COVID-19 “hasn’t changed” in the past year. He had previously said during an April 2020 press briefing that the “weight of evidence seems to indicate” the virus originated naturally, Reuters reported. . .

He also told Fox News that the reason investigators have been unable to conclusively determine the virus’ origins is because of the Chinese government’s “cover-up” of evidence and its “lack of transparency.”

“Once this virus started appearing, there seems to have been a fair amount of activity or cover-up or lack of transparency, probably the best way to put it, and all of that is disturbing,” Milley said. “So we need to get to the bottom of it. That’s clear.”

‘Blatant Censorship’: Media Outlet Edits Teen’s Op-Ed Criticizing Transgender Athletes in Female Sports (VIDEO)

Former high school track athlete Chelsea Mitchell was the “fastest girl in Connecticut” at one point in time until the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) began allowing transgender girls to compete in women’s sports.

Last week, USA Today published an op-ed from Mitchell about competing against transgender athletes and her decision to push forward with an appeal of the case. On May 25, editors at USA Today, without notice to Chelsea, changed the word “male” to “transgender” throughout her piece and condemned her use of “hurtful language.”

In an editor’s note, the outlet explained that the op-ed was updated to “reflect USA Today’s standards and style guidelines. We regret that hurtful language was used.”

In a series of tweets, Mitchell’s attorney, Christiana Holcomb, accused the media organization of “unilaterally” changing Mitchell’s words after acquiescing to “backlash from the woke mob.” . . .

Mitchell is one of three Connecticut female high school track stars who filed a lawsuit to overturn the state athletic conference’s transgender policy at the beginning of 2020. ‘Defund the Police’ Councilman Has Car Stolen — By Kids in Broad Daylight

An Atlanta city councilman – who is aiming to be the city’s next mayor – had his car stolen by children in broad daylight Wednesday, according to reports.

Councilman Antonio Brown was attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony at an event in northeast Atlanta around noon when at least four kids jumped into his car and took off, FOX 5 of Atlanta reported.

“You don’t immediately think, ‘Oh, these kids are going to steal my car,’” Brown said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The incident occurred amid a recent crime wave in the city. Brown, who joined the city’s mayoral race less than three weeks ago, is running on a campaign of “reimagining public safety,” the paper reported.

Dershowitz Sues Netflix Over Jeffrey Epstein Miniseries

Alan Dershowitz sued Netflix over the way he was portrayed in the streaming service’s series on Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier charged with orchestrating a sex-trafficking ring.

The Florida-based lawyer was misled about his involvement in the miniseries, Filthy Rich, he said, according to a lawsuit filed in Miami federal court. Dershowitz, 82, also accused the company of presenting “categorically false” claims from Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s alleged victims, that she and the lawyer had intercourse.

“Giuffre’s accusations that she had sex with Professor Dershowitz are categorically false, and Professor Dershowitz has denied and disproved the accusations — including under oath subject to the penalties of perjury,” the lawsuit read. . .

Dershowitz, who served as Epstein’s attorney during a 2008 conviction for a prostitution charge, played a large role in the show, which detailed a flurry of accusations that Epstein recruited underage girls for massages and sexually molested them. Book Reveals Bernie’s Ridiculous Hotel Demands

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is a demanding hotel guest whose requirements would make even the most pampered celebrity blush, according to a new book detailing Democratic Party politics.

In an excerpt from “Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaigns to Defeat Trump,” author Edward-Isaac Dovere reports that following Sanders’ surprisingly strong 2016 presidential campaign, the democratic socialist’s staffers put together a “Senator Comfort Memo” detailing his specifications for each hotel stay on his travels. The excerpt was first reported by Fox News.

According to Dovere, Sanders preferred suites with bathtubs and a king-size bed “which had to have a down comforter or another blanket in the closet. He preferred that the extra blanket be dark blue, and made of cotton.”

Sanders, 79, required that his room be kept at 60 degrees even if it meant opening a window in winter or manually overriding the hotel’s climate control system. Dovere recounts one incident on a trip to California when a hotel worker tried and failed to get the room to the required coolness. A simple thumb test can help indicate whether a person is harboring a hidden aortic aneurysm — which can prove fatal if left undetected and untreated, new research reveals.

The self-conducted test, proposed by experts affiliated with the Aortic Institute at Yale New Haven Hospital, requires holding up one hand as if signaling someone to stop.

Then, the person should flex their thumb as far as possible across the palm. If the thumb crosses beyond the far edge of the palm, the patient may be hiding a hidden aneurysm — an abnormal bulge that occurs in the wall of the major blood vessel that carries blood from the heart throughout the body.

Being able to stretch the thumb in that way is an indication that a patient’s long bones are excessive and their joints are lax — possible signs of connective tissue disease throughout the body, including the aorta, the researchers said. Volcano Mystery: Researchers Were Baffled by ‘Supervolcano’ Discovery in Alaska

Alaska has been in the headlines in recent days after its Great Sitkin volcano erupted last week. Last Thursday, the US Geological Survey said a red warning had been raised – indicating that significant emission of volcanic ash into the atmosphere is likely. The Alaska Volcano Observatory said a “short-duration” explosive eruption of one-two minutes occurred at 5:04 GMT on Thursday, resulting in an ash cloud up to 15,000 feet above sea level. . .

Researchers have been compelled by volcanic activity in the region and were stunned when they found what could be a supervolcano in Alaska’s Aleutian islands.

The cluster of volcanic islands could be a single giant volcano similar to that of the Yellowstone Caldera, an American Geophysical Union study said in December last year.

John Power, a geophysicist at the US Geological Survey’s Alaska Volcano Observatory, said the super-volcano would be so big, it could have disrupted civilisations around the world.

Minnesota Public Schools told WCCO it was investigating the allegations.

Report: Dems Are Refusing to Allow GOP to View Capitol Riot Videos

Democrats running the U.S. Capitol building have refused to let Republicans see the video documentation of what happened there on Jan. 6, according to Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif. . .

Nunes was blunt:

“Tell me how many people actually carried a hammer, broke windows, or aided and abetted those people that destroyed federal property?” he said. “Why won’t you show us the videotapes? Republicans have yet to see the videotapes of what happened on January 6. Why are they not showing us the videotapes and why don’t we know who broke the windows and damaged public property?

“Because I tell you, I am all for those people who broke windows to going to jail for a long time. But what I’m not for is for people sitting in jail, like I understand, there is very few people reporting on this right now, but what I understand there are people who are sitting in jail right now who are having their due process rights violated. I talked to a lot of people who said, ‘Hey, we didn’t even know we couldn’t be in the Capitol.'” . . .
