Mysterious Alaskapox Virus That Jumps From Animals to Humans Has Resurfaced

The mysterious Alaskapox virus has resurfaced in Fairbanks, Alaska, this summer with two new cases. The earlier two cases, in 2015 and 2020, were also reported in the same area.

According to the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, the infected Alaskans have since recovered after contracting the disease with non-severe symptoms, Alaska Public Media reported.

Experts suspect that small animals are carriers of the virus, with a testing and trapping project having found evidence of Alaskapox virus in squirrels, voles, and shrews, KTOO reported.

By New York Post. Former President Donald Trump said the country is becoming a “cesspool of humanity” as the Biden administration scrambles to handle the more than 14,000 mainly Haitian migrants living in a makeshift camp under a bridge in Texas.

“​The largest number of illegal aliens in the history of our Country are pouring in by the millions. They are totally unchecked and unvetted, can do whatever they want, and go wherever they want​,” Trump said in an emailed statement on Sunday.

“​Our Country is rapidly becoming a cesspool of humanity. Murderers, drug dealers, and criminals of all shapes and sizes are a big part of this massive migration​,” the former president said.

More than 14,000 Haitians have been camping out in squalid conditions under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas, since last week waiting to be arrested, leading the Biden administration to close an entry point, reroute traffic, deploy more Border Patrol agents and arrange flights, which could begin as soon as Sunday, to return them to the Caribbean nation.​

“Tens of thousands of people are coming from Haiti, and many now from countries in Africa, even more so now than South America. Donald Trump Jr. Blames Democrats for ‘Out of Control’ Texas Border Crisis

By Newsweek. Donald Trump Jr. has blamed Democrats for the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border and pointed to the large numbers of migrants currently encamped underneath a bridge in Texas.

Former President Donald Trump’s eldest son took to Twitter on Friday to share a campaign from the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and criticize Democrats’ handling of the situation.

At least 12,000 migrants are now in a makeshift camp under the Del Rio International Bridge in the small town of Del Rio, Texas having crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico.

Leaked Document Shows Biden Sidelining Public To Take Orders From Planned Parenthood

A new leaked document shows the Biden administration flouting the regulatory process in order to push through a massive financial favor to the powerful and lucrative abortion industry that backed Joe Biden’s presidential candidacy with tens of millions of dollars.

Less than two weeks after an already abbreviated period of time for the public to review and comment on the proposed regulatory change, Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services circulated a draft final rule that violates the clear language of Obamacare in order to benefit Planned Parenthood and other corporate abortion interests. The leaked document, dated August 10 and more than 300 pages long, was then sent to the Office of Management and Budget for final approval, according to multiple sources familiar with the federal rule making process. OMB posted confirmation of receipt August 19, a mere 50 days after the major rule change was first proposed to the public. . .

On July 1, the Biden administration proposed to eliminate and replace the Trump administration’s separate billing requirement.

Normally, such an important and economically significant rule change would require giving the public months of opportunity to comment, followed by months more of rigorous review of and response to the comments, before finalizing the rule. In a stunning move, the Biden administration provided only 28 days for public comment, thereby receiving only 341 comments. . .

The rushed rule change covers one of the most important legislative battles Democrats waged in order to pass Obamacare, which legislated a massive regulatory overhaul of the health insurance marketplace. Sen. Ben Nelson, a pro-life Democrat from Nebraska, authored the section requiring separate payment for abortion services. The bill would not have passed without the provision. Hypocrites: AOC’s ‘Tax the Rich’ Dress Designer Reportedly Owes Thousands in Unpaid Taxes

A new report alleges a seemingly hypocritical accusation against the designer of the dress Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) wore to the swanky Met Gala. The designer, Aurora James, is a “notorious tax deadbeat with unpaid debts dogging her in multiple states,” according to the New York Post.

James, 37, designed the “Tax the Rich” dress that Ocasio-Cortez wore to the $30,000-per-ticket posh fete. James, who reportedly has a net worth of $2 million, said the gown delivered a “powerful message” at the glitzy event that featured well-to-do celebrities and influential elites.

The controversy stems from the Cultural Brokerage Agency, an LLC that James formed in 2021 to serve as the parent company of her fashion brand, Brother Vellies. The company has been served 15 warrants in total since 2015, according to the outlet.

The New York Post reported:

The company racked up three open tax warrants in New York state for failing to withhold income taxes from employees’ paychecks totaling $14,798, the state Department of Taxation and Finance told The Post. The debts — which were incurred before the pandemic — stem from 2018 and 2019.

American Woman Stranded in Afghanistan: Biden’s State Department ‘Broke Me’

While searching for Americans to evacuate out of Afghanistan, she discovered a woman named “Julie.” . . .

On Friday, Wilson appeared on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” to tell Julie’s story. . .

Julie, who has allegedly been a U.S. citizen for at least 16 years, called into the cable news program to explain how she has been stranded in Afghanistan.

Perino asked Julie what the State Department told her to do in order to be evacuated from Afghanistan, to which she replied, “I am not doing anything. I’m just sitting on a hill.”

France recalled its ambassadors to the U.S. and Australia due to the two countries’ joint agreement with the U.K. to give nuclear submarines to the Australian government, which violated a previous agreement to send French submarines down under, Fox News reported. Meanwhile, the migrant crisis has continued to surge at the southern border, with a recent influx of over 15,000 Haitian migrants entering Del Rio, Texas, with migrants camping under the international bridge in overcrowded and unsanitary conditions. The administration deployed 400 federal agents to the bridge and ramped up deportation flights. . .

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed Wednesday that border agents encountered 208,887 migrants in August, slightly decreasing from the 212,000 in July after a steady increase of encountered migrants throughout the year, the outlet reported. The number of migrants increased by 317% in comparison to Aug. 2020 and 233% at the same time in 2019. Massive Volcano Eruption in Spain Causes Thousands To Flee

A volcano erupted on Spain’s Atlantic Ocean island of La Palma on Sunday afternoon — forcing the evacuation of about 5,000 people from their homes that were threatened by lava flows.

Some of the homes have already been destroyed following the 3 p.m. eruption on the southern end of the island that sent huge red plumes of magma into the sky.

New eruptions continued into the night and came after a weeklong buildup of seismic activity in the area.

About 5,000 people evacuated from their homes, according to Victor Torres, president of the Canary Island. . .

Stars were packed close together into an enclosed space at the Event Deck at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles, with other celebrities congregating at an indoor venue in London.

Presenter Seth Rogen appeared baffled by the indoor setting, as Emmy organizers had announced earlier the show would take place in an “air-conditioned tent.” The venue as shown on TV appeared to be fully enclosed.

“I would not have come to this. Why is there a roof?” Rogen joked.

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland Reels Her Bureaucracy Back Into the Swamp

President Joe Biden’s Interior Secretary Deb Haaland announced Friday the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) headquarters will return to Washington D.C.

The decision comes as a partial reversal of the Trump administration’s 2019 relocation of the BLM command post among the lands the agency manages. The new office space in Grand Junction, Colorado, according to Haaland’s plan, will now serve as the BLM’s western headquarters while principal positions are brought back to Washington.

“The Bureau of Land Management is critical to the nation’s efforts to address the climate crisis, expand public access to our public lands, and preserve our nation’s shared outdoor heritage. It is imperative that the bureau have the appropriate structure and resources to serve the American public,” Haaland said in a statement. “There’s no doubt that the BLM should have a leadership presence in Washington D.C. – like all the other agencies – to ensure that it has access to the policy-, budget-, and decision-making levers to best carry out its mission. In addition, the BLM’s robust presence in Colorado and across the West will continue to grow.”

Haaland’s plan to maintain a significant staff in the Colorado headquarters was seen by some former Trump officials as vindication of their move two years ago, a move that Haaland railed against as an effort to “destroy the agency” while a first-term House member on the Natural Resources Committee.
