Justice Department Sues Texas Over Pro-Life Law

The Justice Department is suing Texas over the state’s new controversial restrictions on abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Thursday.

Garland said the law is plainly improper both for its onerous restrictions on abortion access and for the provisions allowing state residents to sue anyone who aids or carries out restricted abortions.

“The act is clearly unconstitutional under longstanding Supreme Court precedent,” Garland said at a press conference.

“This kind of scheme to nullify the Constitution of the United States is one that all Americans, whatever their politics or party, should fear,” Garland said.

“If it prevails, it may become a model for action in other areas by other states and with respect to other constitutional rights and judicial precedents. nor need one think long or hard to realize the damage that would be done to our society if states were allowed to implement laws that empower any private individual to infringe on another’s constitutionally protected rights in this way,” he added. Disturbing: National Archives Slaps ‘Harmful Content’ Warning on Constitution

The National Archives Records Administration placed a “harmful content” warning on the Constitution, labeling the governing document of the United States as “harmful or difficult to view.” The warning applies to all documents across the Archives’ cataloged website, including the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.

“NARA’s records span the history of the United States, and it is our charge to preserve and make available these historical records,” the administration said in a statement. “As a result, some of the materials presented here may reflect outdated, biased, offensive, and possibly violent views and opinions. In addition, some of the materials may relate to violent or graphic events and are preserved for their historical significance.”

The NARA, which is responsible for preserving and protecting documentation of American heritage, noted that so-called harmful historical documents could “reflect racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic/misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes; be discriminatory towards or exclude diverse views on sexuality, gender, religion, and more,” and “include graphic content of historical events such as violent death, medical procedures, crime, wars/terrorist acts, natural disasters and more.”

Biden Blow: WH Concedes Defeat on Controversial ATF Pick

The White House will withdraw the nomination of gun control activist David Chipman to lead the ATF after moderates objected to his selection — handing President Biden a key defeat on a platform promise to tighten federal gun policies.

The demise of Chipman’s nomination to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was reported by the Washington Post, Politico and Fox News. The White House did not immediately issue a statement.

It’s the second major Biden nomination to flop. Neera Tanden, Biden’s nominee to be White House budget director, was yanked after an uproar over attack tweets she issued against the very senators whose votes were needed for confirmation.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, applauded the news.

Newly released U.S. government documents show that Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) provided funding for the gain-of-function research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) that created novel coronaviruses with the ability to infect humans, and one previously undisclosed SARS-related coronavirus engineered at the Wuhan lab was reportedly demonstrated to be more pathogenic to humans than the virus from which it was originally constructed.

The 900 pages of documents – obtained by The Intercept through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit – prove that Fauci’s NIAID provided funding to EcoHealth Alliance, which in turn funded the controversial gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab that created novel coronaviruses that could infect humans.

The Intercept’s report on the documents quotes Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers University, who said that the viruses the Wuhan lab constructed “were tested for their ability to infect mice that were engineered to display human type receptors on their cell.” And these viruses included both SARS-related and MERS-related coronaviruses.

Ebright later posted an eight-part thread on Twitter explaining in greater detail the document’s revelations concerning the “enhanced pathogenicity” of one of the “novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses” created by the Wuhan lab. Rep. Gallagher Demands Fauci Resign, Saying He ‘Lied to the American People’ About Wuhan Lab

By Fox News. Rep. Mike Gallagher is calling on Dr. Anthony Fauci to resign, arguing newly released documents show the nation’s top infectious disease expert lied about U.S. support for gain-of-function research.

“On May 12, I argued that Dr. Fauci had not been forthcoming about the U.S. government’s support for gain-of-function research at the WIV. These documents are a smoking gun that indicate he not only failed to be forthcoming, but that he also lied to the American people about his organization’s support for this risky research,” the Wisconsin Republican said in a statement Wednesday.

“Thanks to grant reports written by Peter Daszak, we now know that U.S. taxpayer dollars supported research that made a virus at the WIV stronger than the original, naturally-occurring virus. This meets the very threshold for gain-of-function research that Dr. Fauci outlined in a letter to me in July,” the statement continued.

“He has repeatedly lied before Congress and the American people and should immediately resign. But his resignation is not enough. Rand Paul Vindicated, Fauci Reported to DOJ for Lying

By Biz Pac Review. Senator Rand Paul once again took aim at Dr. Anthony Fauci after a bombshell report that the career bureaucrat was instrumental in the funding of dangerous experimental research at the Chinese lab that many believe was the source of COVID-19.

The Kentucky Republican took to social media and in an appearance on Fox News to double down on Fauci after release of the report, renewing a call for the Justice Department to launch an investigation over the truth of Fauci’s congressional testimony.

The report was based on 900 pages of documents that were pried loose in a FOIA lawsuit by The Intercept that show the National Institutes of Health, which Fauci has headed up since Ronald Reagan’s first term in office, provided money for the gain-of-function research on viruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through grants to the EcoHealth Alliance, which he has denied. . .

Senator Paul also announced that he has asked the Justice Department to review Fauci’s testimony to determine whether he lied to Congress, a suggestion that he has previously made.

AOC Mercilessly Mocked for Using Gender-Neutral Term To Describe ‘Women’ (VIDEO)

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was roundly mocked on Twitter for using the term “menstruating person” instead of women in a recent interview.

On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez appeared on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” to discuss Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s statements on the Texas Heartbeat Act which prohibits abortions after six weeks. She claimed that the law was actually not “about supporting life” and instead was about controlling “women’s bodies” as well as “any menstruating person.”

“None of this is about supporting life. What this is about is controlling women’s bodies, & controlling people who are not cisgender men. This is about making sure that someone like me as a woman or any menstruating person in this country cannot make decisions over their own body,” she said.

Americans’ Approval of Biden Plunges Below 40 Percent in New Poll

President Joe Biden’s approval rating plunged below 40 percent this week, according to a new poll from YouGov and The Economist.

Overall, approximately 50 percent of the 1,500 Americans surveyed disapprove of Biden’s White House track record while only 39 percent approve. Even among registered voters, Biden’s approval sits around 43 percent while his disapproval is up to 52 percent.

Democrats still show strong loyalty to the Biden administration and agenda with a 77 percent approval rating, while 15 percent admitted they “somewhat disapprove” or “strongly disapprove” of his actions over the last nine months. Approximately 89 percent of GOP voters disapprove of Biden’s performance and the crises he has created since taking office. Fifty-six percent of independents also disapprove.

While 55 percent of black Americans say they approve of the president, his approval rating among Hispanics is down to 41 percent. Even white women with degrees, a demographic where Biden gained ground during the 2020 election, only approve of him by 53 percent, while approximately 42 percent disapprove.

Two More 9/11 Victims Recently Identified

The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) has announced the identification of two more people who perished due to the heinous September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the World Trade Center.

“Dorothy Morgan is the 1,646th person and a man whose name is being withheld at the request of his family is the 1,647th person to be identified through ongoing DNA analysis of unidentified remains recovered from the disaster that claimed the lives of 2,753 people,” according to the OCME.

“The identification of Dorothy Morgan was confirmed through DNA testing of remains recovered in 2001. The identification of the unnamed man was confirmed through DNA testing of remains recovered in 2001, 2002, and 2006,” the news release noted. “The two identifications are the first new identifications of World Trade Center victims since October 2019. Some 1,106 victims, or 40% of those who died, remain unidentified.”

Family: War Vet Died After Hospital Ignored Court Order for Ivermectin

Amid a flood of media reports conflating a veterinary version of the drug ivermectin with one for human use that is touted worldwide by physicians and in more than 100 scientific studies as a safe and effective treatment for COVID-19, a 74-year-old Vietnam War veteran died in Texas after a hospital refused to administer the drug in defiance of a court order, according to the family.

Pete Lopez was put on a ventilator Aug. 19 at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital near Houston after testing positive for COVID-19, reported the local Fox affiliate. The hospital issued a statement explaining it could not comment on specific cases but said in part: “It is important to note that physicians diagnose and treat patients consistent with best medical practices. … The FDA has not authorized or approved Ivermectin for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. Data currently available does not demonstrate that Ivermectin is safe or effective against COVID-19 infection.”

Gabrielle Snider, a granddaughter of Lopez, told the news station the hospital “took away from my grandfather and us, his family, the opportunity to know whether or not that drug would have worked for him.”

On Monday, an Ohio judge reversed a previous decision from another judge, ruling a hospital no longer had to give a COVID-19 patient ivermectin after it was prescribed to him by a licensed physician, WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, reported.

Arizona Tells Major City to End Vaccine Mandates or Lose Millions

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich blasted the city of Tucson Tuesday for mandating COVID shots for city employees, declaring the action “illegal” and threatening to have the treasury remove state funding from the city if lawmakers do not overturn the mandate.

Arguing that “COVID-19 vaccinations should be a choice, not a government mandate,” Brnovich, a Republican, told Fox News that “Tucson’s vaccine mandate is illegal, and the city could be held liable for attempting to force employees to take it against their beliefs.”

State lawmakers passed a bill earlier in the year, S.B. 1824, prohibiting local governments throughout Arizona from “establishing a COVID-19 vaccine passport or requiring … any person to be vaccinated for COVID-19.”

The bill also disallowed “a business to obtain proof of the COVID-19 vaccination status of any patron entering the business establishment.”
