New ‘Antilynching’ Federal Law Could Let Prosecutors Imprison You For A Crime You Never Committed

Touted as an overdue (if duplicative) law that no one could disagree with, the Emmett Till Antilynching Act signed by President Biden last week includes a subtle provision that could boost the Biden administration’s war on wrongthink.

The bill sailed through the U.S. Senate and the House with ease. The tactful naming made the bill radioactive to oppose, which is why 422 congressmen voted in favor while only three opposed.

Rep. Thomas Massie, one of the three who voted against the bill, expressed a handful of concerns, including that there are a limited number of constitutionally specified federal crimes, that lynching is already criminalized, and that “Adding enhanced penalties for ‘hate’ [on top of existing criminal punishments] tends to endanger other liberties such as freedom of speech.”

He also highlighted another potential pitfall of the legislation: “The bill creates another federal crime of ‘conspiracy,’ which I’m concerned could be enforced overbroadly on people who are not perpetrators of a crime.” Here’s the section Massie is referring to:

Whoever conspires to commit any offense under paragraph (1), (2), or (3) shall, if death or serious bodily injury (as defined in section 2246 of this title) results from the offense, or if the offense includes kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, be imprisoned for not more than 30 years, fined in accordance with this title, or both.

Sarah Palin Returns to Politics to Run for Congress

Over a decade after she served as governor of Alaska until 2009 and was John McCain’s running mate in 2008, Sarah Palin announced she was running for Congress.

A statement from Palin began by referencing former Rep. Don Young (R-AK), who just died on March 18. He had been the dean of the House, as well as the longest-serving member of Congress. “I realize that I have very big shoes to fill, and I plan to honor Rep. Young’s legacy by offering myself up in the name of service to the state he loved and fought for, because I share that passion for Alaska and the United States of America,” her statement began in part.

Lawmaker Threatens a ‘Living Hell’ for Disney as LGBTQ Feud Intensifies

The Walt Disney Co.’s proclamation that it will somehow force an overturn of Florida’s “Parental Rights in Education” bill that Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law on Monday could mean the loss of government perks that will lead to “a living hell” for the company best known for family-friendly theme parks and movies, state Representative Anthony Sabatini told Newsweek on Friday.

Sabatini enthusiastically voted in favor of House Bill 1557, which critics call the “Don’t Say Gay” law, in February and has been one of its highest-profile proponents ever since Disney issued a March 28 decree saying its “goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts.”

In response, some lawmakers are threatening to reverse government favors that have benefited Disney since 1967, when Florida created something called the “Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID).” This gave Disney taxing and other privileges and allowed it to “act with the same authority and responsibility as a county government,” a favor that made sense to politicians at the time since Disney was promising to turn 38.5 square miles of “largely uninhabited pasture and swampland into a global destination,” according to the RCID website.

“When Disney purchased land for its theme parks, it pushed through laws that said it was self-governing,” Sabatini told Newsweek. “They have their own police and fire departments and could even have their own nuclear power plant if they wished. If it were up to me, I’d call a special session and Disney would lose all of it. If they’re governed by local authorities, it’s not going to be pretty for them—they’ll be subject to all sorts of crazy taxes, rules and regulations. It will make life a living hell for them. They’ll be regulated like everybody else.”

DeSantis, in fact, signaled during a Thursday press conference that he’s open to the idea of reversing special privileges that had been carved out for Disney, though repealing corporate state tax breaks are off the table since all businesses qualify for them. Protect Hunter! Establishment Media Avoid Latest Hunter Crisis

The establishment media has reported on Hunter Biden’s $4.8 million received in payments from a Chinese energy company, but not the alleged payout mechanism by which the Biden family likely profited from peddling influence.

“I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years,” Hunter texted his daughter, Naomi, in 2019, the New York Post reported in 2021.

“It’s really hard. But don’t worry, unlike Pop [Joe], I won’t make you give me half your salary,” the text string continued as reported.

Hunter’s reported texts indicate Joe Biden received 50 percent of his relative’s “salary” for a 30-year period. The reported texts do not reveal when the 30 years began or ended and whether Joe Biden is still a part of the payment scheme as president.

‘Fully Vaccinated’ Hillary Clinton Again Tests Positive for COVID

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced Tuesday that she tested positive for the coronavirus.

“Well, I’ve tested positive for COVID,” Clinton, 74, wrote in a tweet. “I’ve got some mild cold symptoms but am feeling fine.”

Despite Enormous Opposition From Soros, Zelensky, and the Biden Administration, Hungary’s Pro-Family President Wins Reelection

[President Viktor] Orban’s Fidesz party had a commanding lead with 71% of the votes counted, Hungary’s national elections board said on Sunday evening. . .

But despite opinion polls forecasting a tighter race, Orban’s Fidesz party won comfortably across much of the country. Opposition leader Peter Marki-Zay even failed to win in his own district, where he had served as mayor.

“We have such a victory it can be seen from the moon, but it’s sure that it can be seen from Brussels,” Orban said in his speech on Sunday night, making light of his government’s long-running tensions with EU leaders.

“We will remember this victory until the end of our lives because we had to fight against a huge amount of opponents,” Orban said, citing a number of his political enemies including the Hungarian left, “bureaucrats” in Brussels, the international media, “and the Ukrainian president too — we never had so many opponents at the same time.”

“The whole world could see this evening in Budapest that the Christian Democrat politics, the conservative politics and the nationalistic politics won,” Orban said on Sunday night. “Our message to Europe is that it’s not the past but the future. The remarks weren’t exactly memorable because either of them said something groundbreaking. The president, however, did mix himself up with former First Lady Michelle Obama, with “Michelle Obama” trending on Twitter for Saturday night.

As a result, the White House transcript had to go in and save him, as they’ve had to do before with this administration. “And I’m deeply proud of the work she is doing as First Lady with Joining Forces initiative she started with Michelle Obama when she [I] was Vice President and now carries on,” is how the transcript has it, indicating the president had mistakenly referred to Michelle Obama as vice president.

Nearly 1 in 5 Democrats Want Hillary Clinton as Their Nominee if Biden Can’t Run In 2024

By Washington Free Beacon. A majority of Americans said they have “doubts” about President Joe Biden’s mental fitness, while nearly two-thirds said he might be “too old” to be president, according to a recently published Harvard-Harris poll.

The results are not exactly surprising, given the alarming rate at which Biden, 79, has been committing gaffes on the international stage amid the lingering threat of nuclear war. Nevertheless, they might come as a surprise to consumers of mainstream media, where the coverage of the Biden administration tends to portray the president as a sharp and steadfast leader in these trying times.

The poll found that 55 percent of Americans had doubts as to whether Biden was “mentally fit to serve” as president, compared with 45 percent who expressed confidence in his mental fitness. By an identical margin, Americans also expressed doubts about Biden’s ability to “handle difficult international issues.” Asked whether Biden was “showing he is too old to be president,” 62 percent of Americans said yes, while 38 percent said otherwise, including one in three Democrats. Two-thirds of Hispanic voters said Biden might be too old to be president, along with 43 percent of black voters. Let’s Go Brandon! Overdose Deaths Soar From Fentanyl, Flowing From Mexico, China

American drug-related overdose deaths are soaring from fentanyl, a powerful synthetic drug that originates from China and enters the United States’ unsealed border with Mexico, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

“For the first time, more than 100,000 Americans had died of drug overdoses over a 12-month period,” the Associated Press (AP) reported. “About two-thirds of the deaths were linked to fentanyl and other synthetic drugs, which can be 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine, heroin or prescription opioids.”

In some states, possession with intent to distribute less than 14 grams of fentanyl is a two-year prison-worthy offense. According to the Drug Enforcement Agency, the drug is so potent that 14 grams can constitute 700 deadly doses.

The AP also acknowledged that fentanyl originates from China, then moves through Mexico, and thereby enters the rustbelt states. The states most impacted by fentanyl are West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio — all rural states with dominant white populations.

“The Texas Military Department said that from March 2021 through earlier this month, its troops near the border confiscated more than 1,200 pounds (540 kilograms) of fentanyl,” the AP reported. “By comparison, federal authorities reported confiscating about 11,000 pounds (4,990 kilograms) in 2021 — still a fraction of what entered the country.” (Read more from “Let’s Go Brandon! Premature Newborn Found on Hood of Car

Connecticut police are investigating after a premature baby estimated to be born at only 28 to 30 weeks was abandoned on the hood of a car in the town of Mansfield. Miraculously, a woman found the child, and the baby is now listed in stable condition at a hospital.

Police say they got a 911 call on the afternoon of March 23 from the woman who saw a man leaving the newborn wrapped in a towel on her vehicle. According to WTNH, the baby only weighed about two pounds.

“The female reported as she returned to her vehicle, the male got into a dark-colored vehicle and fled the area,” Connecticut State Police said in a news release. “The infant was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later determined to be a 28-30 week old premature newborn.”

GOP Governor Slams Trump as ‘F***Ing Crazy’ at DC Event

New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, a Republican, lambasted former President Donald Trump as “f***ing crazy” in a monologue at an elite DC event for journalists over the weekend.

Sununu was one of a number of speakers at the annual Gridiron Club dinner Saturday evening, which returned after a three year hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The event, attended by political and media elites, features skits and speeches from a bipartisan roster of lawmakers, all of which involve roasting one another. The New Hampshire governor, according to Politico, initially pretended to praise the 45th president’s “experience,” “passion,” “sense of integrity,” and the “rationale” he brought to his tweets.

“Nah,” Sununu, who is considered as a 2024 contender, continued, “I’m just kidding. He’s f***ing crazy,” causing the Renaissance Hotel ballroom to erupt in laughter.

“Are you kidding? Come on,” the Republican governor then jokingly asked the crowd of if they thought he was seriously praising the former president’s tweets. “You guys are buying that? I love it.” Sununu then revealed that Trump “just stresses me out so much,” before pledging that he was “going to deny I ever said” what he had.

Sununu, who has served as governor since 2017, went on to quip that “The press often will ask me if I think Donald Trump is crazy. I’ll say it this way: I don’t think he’s so crazy that you could put him in a mental institution. But I think if he were in one, he ain’t getting out.” The governor also told the story of when the then-president was visiting the Granite State and offered him a ride in the presidential limo, known as The Beast.
