DA Suspended By DeSantis Quoted The Bible To Justify Charging Christian Pastor

Andrew Warren, the Florida State Attorney suspended by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, quoted a passage of the Bible in March 2020 to justify his support for charging a pastor who held church services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At a press conference in 2020, the Hillsborough County attorney read a passage from Mark 12:31 to justify an arrest warrant issued against Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne for holding two church services at the River at Tampa Bay County Church.

“[To] put parishioners at risk in a time of an emergency like this is not only reckless, but it’s illegal,” Warren said during the press conference. “But where people are refusing to obey law enforcement in this regard, you risk being arrested and prosecuted. I’d like to note that [I] think it’s unfortunate that the pastor here is hiding behind the First Amendment. One, it’s absolutely clear that emergency orders like this are constitutional and valid.”

“Lastly, I’d remind the good pastor of Mark 12:31, which says there’s ‘no more important command than to love thy neighbor as thyself.’ Loving your neighbors is protecting them, not jeopardizing their health by exposing them to this deadly virus,” Warren continued. Dems Poised to Pull Free Lunches From Christian School That Refuses to Obey LGBT Mandates

The Biden administration is poised to deny free school lunch funding from a Florida Christian school that refuses to comply with the administration’s LGBT mandates, despite the school’s qualification for a religious exemption.

Grant Park Christian Academy in Tampa, Fla., represented by Alliance Defending Freedom, is suing President Joe Biden and Florida agriculture commissioner Nikki Fried for enforcing the Biden administration requirement that schools comply with its LGBT mandates or lose federal school lunch funding.

In May, the Biden administration redefined the meaning of “sex” in Title IX to include sexual orientation and gender identity, forcing schools to permit transgender students to use male or female bathrooms and play sports with either sex in order to receive National School Lunch Program funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. More than half of state attorneys general rejected the memorandum, with Florida attorney general Ashley Moody saying the Biden administration was “using hungry children to advance a political agenda,” the Washington Free Beacon reported. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) defended Alex Jones at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday, the same day he was ordered to pay $45.2 million in punitive damages to the parents of a victim of the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Greene, who has been suspended from Twitter, claimed social media companies are trying to silence those on the Right, citing Jones as evidence of Big Tech’s ideological crackdown.

“Somebody like Alex Jones, who did say some things but yet he is being politically persecuted right now and being forced to pay out millions and millions of dollars, and no one agrees with what he said, but what we’re tired of is the political persecution,” she said during an onstage interview.

Greene asked when she and others who have been “canceled” on social media will be paid millions of dollars.

The damages, which were announced after Greene’s comments, may be reduced by the judge and follow the jury awarding the parents of 6-year-old Jesse Lewis, who died during the shooting, $4.1 million in compensatory damages from Jones. The parents said they faced death threats and other harassment tied to Jones’s claims that the shooting was a hoax, comments he later retracted. China Will Refuse to Take Back Illegal Immigrants in Retaliation for Pelosi Visit

China said Friday that it will stop accepting deportees from the U.S. as part of its retaliation for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit this week to Taiwan.

The move was among nine steps announced by China’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, along with ending cooperation on transnational crime and drugs, and halting talks on climate change.

It also raises the stakes for the Biden administration, which under U.S. law can punish countries that refuse to cooperate on deportations by refusing to issue new visas to that country’s citizens.

That decision belongs to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

January 6 Star Witness’ Credibility Takes Another Brutal Hit

Cassidy Hutchinson was considered the smoking gun by the liberal media. The ex-aide to Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows testified before the House Select Committee on January 6, reciting some of the best tales since Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey. The commonality they share is that all three stories are soaked in myth. Some alleged stories are just facially untrue. Hutchinson’s biggest whopper is that Donald Trump tried to carjack the presidential motorcade to venture to the US Capitol on the day of the riot. Another whopper was that the Capitol Building was besieged by hordes of armed rioters armed with body armor and AR-15 rifles. No, video evidence refutes that thoroughly. . .

She was supposed to work for Trump as an aide in Mar-a-Lago after his presidency, but obviously, that didn’t work out. Now, we’ve learned that Hutchinson worked for Trump weeks after he left office before becoming a turncoat (via Business Insider):

Cassidy Hutchinson, the former Trump White House aide who emerged as a star witness for the US House committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, continued working on the former president’s behalf for nine weeks after he left office, according to government records exclusively obtained by Insider.

Hutchinson served as a “coordinator” for Trump’s official, taxpayer-funded, post-presidential office from about January 20, 2021, to April 1, 2021, earning an annualized salary of $90,000, the General Services Administration documents state.

The documents establish that Hutchinson continued to earn a government paycheck for work in support of Trump for weeks after she witnessed his actions — and lack of action — on January 6, even as other colleagues resigned soon thereafter.

Former Star Alleges Disturbing Moments Behind Scenes of Popular Teen Sitcom

Jennette McCurdy is opening up about her childhood trauma.

McCurdy revealed she was “exploited” when she was a child actor on Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” and “Sam & Cat.”

She says her overbearing mother and the television industry were both to blame, as they “failed to protect her,” according to the New York Times.

“My whole childhood and adolescence were very exploited,” McCurdy said. “…There were cases where people had the best intentions and maybe didn’t know what they were doing. And also cases where they did — they knew exactly what they were doing.” . . .

Man Who Allegedly Kidnapped 12-Year-Old and Murdered Her Mother and Brother Is an Illegal Alien and Had Been Previously Deported to Mexico

The man accused of kidnapping and torturing a 12-year-old girl after murdering her mother and brother was illegally in the U.S. and had been previously deported to Mexico in 2014.

On Monday, a motorist spotted the young girl wandering down a road in Dadeville, Alabama, and picked her up. Police said that she had been kidnapped, bound, and drugged.

She led police to the mobile home where she said she had been tied to a bed but managed to escape by chewing through her restraints.

At the home, police found two decomposing bodies they later identified as the child’s mother and her brother. The mother had been in a relationship with the suspect, who was identified as 37-year-old Jose Paulino Pascual-Reyes.

On Friday, the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to the Daily Caller that Pascual-Reyes was in the country illegally at the time of the alleged crime and that he had been previously deported to Mexico in 2014.

China Retaliates Against United States Over Pelosi’s Visit to Taiwan

China has suspended all planned discussions with the U.S. on key international issues as retaliation against the U.S. congressional delegation’s visit to Taiwan.

Beijing on Friday made the announcement that the Chinese Communist Party was canceling all discussions of climate change, drug networks and military action.

China attributed the decision to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s congressional delegation and their trip to the island of Taiwan.

“The cancellation also sent a clear signal to the U.S. that the Chinese side will never accept the U.S. blatantly damaging China-U.S. relations without bearing any consequences,” said U.S. studies scholar Lü Xiang from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Studies Show Federal Mental Health Programs Make Students Worse

The recent shootings in Uvalde, Texas; Buffalo, New York; and Highland Park, Illinois, led to discussions in Congress about whether to increase gun control. While the left would like to increase restrictions on buying a firearm, many on the right are hesitant to put tighter restrictions, such as red-flag laws, in place.

Aside from the recently passed Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, Republicans and Democrats will continue to struggle to compromise on this issue, but both concede a serious mental health crisis is driving many mass shootings. In response, Congress will most likely pass bills designating money to programs addressing mental-health disorders through established mental-health programs, like the federal Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) program implemented in American schools to improve student mental health. But should they? . . .

In 2014, President Obama launched the Now Is the Time Initiative, which focused on mental health. According to The Mental Health First Aid website, the program received $15 million in federal grants to launch Mental Health First Aid programs in classrooms. One year later, Obama gave the organization another $15 million and a commitment to annually fund the program. . .

In a report by the Manhattan Institute, MHFA studies’ results were collected and put into a table showing the program’s ineffectiveness. Out of 46 published reviews, 13 impact case studies were from the official MHFA website, 14 used a randomized control trial design, 7 examined the beneficiary outcomes of the program, and 16 were completed by an MHFA program creator. The results varied between cases, but all of them showed detrimental results as a consequence of MHFA programs.

Some case studies looked at MHFA programs on different college campuses. In one experiment, one-half of the colleges’ resident advisors were given MHFA training while the other half received no instruction. Surprisingly, there was not merely a lack of evidence suggesting MHFA improved students’ mental health in the trained resident advisor’s halls, but evidence indicated that resident advisors with the training had worse results than did resident advisors with none. Scientists Create the First Synthetic Embryos

Researchers in Israel have created the world’s first “synthetic embryos” in a landmark study, without using sperm or egg cells.

Scientists at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel, were able to make stem cells taken from mice form early embryo-like structures, including a gastrointestinal tract, a beating heart, and the early stages of a brain. The embryos are considered “synthetic” because they were not derived from a fertilized egg — but preliminary results suggest that “synthetic embryos” are fairly similar to natural embryos.

“Remarkably, we show that embryonic stem cells generate whole synthetic embryos, meaning this includes the placenta and yolk sac surrounding the embryo,” said Dr. Jacob Hanna, who headed the study. “We are truly excited about this work and its implications.”

Researchers believe that this breakthrough could offer alternatives to animal experimentation and pave the way for new stem cell growth for human transplants. Skin cells could be potentially transformed into bone marrow stem cells, for example, to help treat patients suffering from leukemia. The demand for donated organs often outstrips the supply, and the immune system naturally attacks foreign cells, requiring already weakened patients to take immunosuppressant drugs after a transplant. Being able to grow tissues from a patient’s DNA could bypass many of the compatibility issues current transplants face and greatly increase the availability of the treatment.

The synthetic embryos are not thought to have the potential to develop into fully-formed animals, and only 0.5% of the observed stem cells combined to grow distinctive tissue, although those tissues seemed fully functional and “95%” similar to natural tissues in basic structure.
