Big Tech Once Again Censors Pro-Life Group Live Action

In yet another example of Big Tech censoring conservatives and conservative causes, on Thursday, the pro-life group Live Action announced that TikTok had banned their platform from posting advertisements. The organization’s announcement had strong words for the social media outlet, referring to the move as “yet another attempt to silence pro-life speech.” This comes after Lila Rose, the president and founder, was also recently banned from the platform.

What makes censoring Live Action even more problematic is that they refer to themselves as “the only pro-life organization with a large following on the platform, and spreading facts about abortion is vital on that platform specifically.”

The announcement explained that the content is available, for those who search for it. Live Action is, however, blocked from expanding their reach to new viewers who may be persuaded by the pro-life message. as the group looks to reach as many young people as possible.

This is a particularly key demographic that the pro-life movement is trying to reach. “By censoring the most prominent digital pro-life group in America, TikTok and its Big Tech allies are trying to muzzle the pro-life message from reaching young people of reproductive age,” the announcement warned. Judge Rules Transgender Surgeries Must Be Covered by Medicaid

A federal judge ruled this week that the state of West Virginia must allow transgender patients covered by Medicaid to receive gender transforming surgeries, reasoning that individuals with a gender dysphoria diagnosis must be treated the same as those suffering from other medical conditions.

U.S. District Judge Robert Chambers for the Southern District of West Virginia said it was discriminatory for the state to ban such procedures from Medicaid recipients while allowing others who do not have a gender dysphoria diagnosis to get the same surgeries, such as a mastectomy or vaginoplasty.

Under the state’s policy, a woman with a cancer-related diagnosis could have a mastectomy, but a transgender man with gender dysphoria desiring to have breasts removed could not do so under Medicaid coverage.

The ruling pointed to expert testimony from Dr. Loren Schechter, a Chicago-based plastic surgeon who said a vaginoplasty, or construction of a vagina, could be performed for a transgender patient or for a non-transgender woman suffering from congenital absence of the vagina.

“It is undisputed that the criteria determining whether or not such treatment is covered under the Medicaid Program hinges on a diagnosis — but when treatment is precluded for a diagnosis based on one’s gender identity, such exclusion invidiously discriminates on the basis of sex and transgender status,” Judge Chambers, a Clinton appointee, wrote in Tuesday’s order. Demi Lovato Shows Why Declaring Pronouns Is Nothing More Than Brainwashed, Agenda-Driven Nonsense

To declare one’s pronouns is stupid. To change them after declaring them is downright asinine.

Singer Demi Lovato announced that she, once again, had changed her pronouns during an interview on the Spout podcast on Tuesday.

“Yeah, so, they/them is, um, I’ve actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again with me,” Lovato said. “So for me, I’m such a fluid person that I don’t really — I don’t find that I am, I felt like, especially last year, my energy was balanced and my masculine and feminine energy so that when I was faced with the choice of walking into a bathroom, and it said ‘Women’ and ‘Men,’ I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t feel necessarily like a woman.”

Seriously, can we just start referring to Lovato as “it”? That would simplify everything and eliminate this embarrassingly toxic, privileged nonsense of pronoun declarations. (Read more from “Demi Lovato Shows Why Declaring Pronouns Is Nothing More Than Brainwashed, Agenda-Driven Nonsense” HERE)

Pelosi’s Taiwan Visit Shows Politicians Can No Longer Ignore Americans’ Concerns About China

By Breitbart. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) visit to Taiwan, completed in defiance of belligerent threats from the hideous regime in Beijing, drew genuine bipartisan support from U.S. lawmakers and voters alike.

Even in a time of deep political divisions, with a potentially earthshaking midterm election coming up, Americans are united in their concerns about the new Evil Empire and its malignant influence upon the freedom, health, and security of the Western world.

A considerable number of sitting Republican legislators and former Trump administration officials expressed public support for Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. The GOP caucus was far more vocally supportive of Pelosi than the perpetually befuddled Biden administration, even though President Joe Biden ostensibly campaigned on standing up to Communist China.

“What is the Pentagon thinking when it publicly warns against Speaker Pelosi going to Taiwan? If we are so intimidated by the Chinese Communists we can’t even protect an American Speaker of the House, why should Beijing believe we can help Taiwan survive? Timidity is dangerous,” Pelosi’s predecessor Newt Gingrich, the last Speaker of the House to visit Taiwan, said in a characteristic Republican comment. US-China Ties on a Precipice After Pelosi Visit to Taiwan

By Associated Press. U.S.-China relations are teetering on a precipice after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

Pelosi received a rapturous welcome in Taipei and was applauded with strong bipartisan support in Washington, despite the Biden administration’s misgivings. But her trip has enraged Beijing and Chinese nationalists and will complicate already strained ties even after her departure.

Already, China is preparing new shows of force in the Taiwan Strait to make clear that its claims are non-negotiable on the island it regards as a renegade province. And, as the U.S. presses ahead with demonstrations of support for Taiwan, arms sales and diplomatic lobbying, the escalating tensions have raised the risks of military confrontation, intentional or not. Renowned Molecular Biologist Accuses Fauci of Lying to Congress About Gain-Of-Function Research

Rutgers University microbiologist Dr. Richard Ebright testified before the U.S. Senate Wednesday that top public health officials lied about dangerous gain-of-function (GoF) research experiments conducted in China.

Ebright testified that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other U.S. federal agencies funded research that fit the definition of GoF at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) without proper oversight. His claim directly contradicts those made by numerous public health officials, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Specifically, Ebright testified that research funded by federal agencies at the WIV in the 2010s violated an NIH pause on GoF research funding between 2014 and 2017. After the pause was lifted in 2017, Ebright claimed that GoF projects which continued did not properly go through the agency’s regulatory process for oversight.

NIH and other federal agencies funded various experiments in the 2010s at the WIV which made bat-based coronaviruses more dangerous by increasing their fatality and infectiousness. According to the strict definition of GoF research, those experiments should’ve fallen under the GoF oversight process or been banned by the funding moratorium. No, NYT, the Difference Between Abortion and a Miscarriage Is Not the Mother’s Feelings

There’s been an awful lot of talk about miscarriage in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling that had nothing to do with it.

As the pro-abortion left clings to its movement in a post-Roe world, two law professors have taken to the New York Times opinion section to ask, “Why Do We Talk About Miscarriage Differently From Abortion?”

It’s an absurd question on its face, with the obvious rejoinder being that we talk differently about miscarriage and abortion for the same reason we talk differently about aneurysms and first-degree murder, consensual sex and rape, or salaried employment and slavery.

But false equivalencies aside, the writers’ answer to the question is worth exploring because it illuminates how abortion proponents think about women, the tragedy of miscarriage, the realities of abortion, and the value — or not — of human life. . .

They begin with a false premise, which they never support except with tired and debunked talking points about mifepristone, that abortion and miscarriage are commensurate. “The line between abortion and pregnancy loss has always been blurry,” write Greer Donley and Jill Wieber Lens, later adding: “Pregnancy loss and abortion have more in common than many people realize. The physical experiences are often virtually identical.” (Read more from “No, NYT, the Difference Between Abortion and a Miscarriage Is Not the Mother’s Feelings” HERE)

Jan. 6 Committee Fails to Make Case Against Trump

Will Attorney General Merrick Garland prosecute Donald Trump for his actions on Jan. 6, 2021? That surely is the outcome fervently desired by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who in effect run the House select committee on the Capitol riot.

But the odds favoring such a dramatic result—despite all the sensational testimony and disinformation disgorged by the hearings—would still be long in Las Vegas gambling circles.

The most important star witness for the select committee in recent weeks was former White House staffer Cassidy Hutchinson, who told a dramatic tale about President Trump’s seizing the wheel of the Secret Service car he was riding in after he had been told he couldn’t accompany the crowd that was going to the Capitol.

However, Hutchinson’s story was a secondhand account, and no cross-examination was allowed. Secret Service agents reportedly refuted the story and were willing to testify, but were not called.

Then we learned that star witness Hutchinson, long after she maintained that Trump had engaged in wildly deplorable conduct, told influential friends how she loved the former president and how deeply she regretted that the Trump team in Florida rejected her for a job. New Capitol Police Job Listing Sets off Alarms

A new listing on a federal government job board is raising constitutional questions, as Capitol Police are looking to hire their own prosecutors.

The listing for an attorney position, posted July 29 on USAJobs.gov, says in the description that the employee would “serve as a Special Assistant United States Attorney” in the Capitol Police’s District Offices. The salary is between $145,094 and $186,368 per year.

“This position is to represent the United States Government primarily prosecuting individuals and/or groups who have engaged in threats and/or acts of violence against Members of Congress, their staffs, United States Capitol Police employees, visitors to the Capitol complex, and facilities and properties within the Capitol Complex,” the listing says.

Notably, the agency listed for the prosecutor’s job is the Capitol Police, not the Department of Justice. Therein lies the problem, according to Mike Davis, founder of the Article 3 Project.

“It is constitutionally wrong to have prosecutors report to law enforcement. It should be the other way around,” Davis said. (Read more from “New Capitol Police Job Listing Sets off Alarms” HERE)

Wikipedia Changes Editing Rules as Users Fight Over Definition of ‘Recession’

Wikipedia has implemented restrictions for new and unregistered users who try to edit its page about recession. According to The Hill, new users and anonymous users will be able to make changes to the recession page, but their edits will be subject to review from volunteer editors.

The definition of recession has been under intense debate since last week, when the Commerce Department revealed U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) fell by an annualized rate of 0.9% during the second quarter of 2022. This followed a 1.6% contraction in the first quarter with an annualized rate of 1.6%.

Traditionally, two consecutive quarters of decreasing GDP — which measures the goods and services a country produces — is considered a recession. However, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has denied the U.S. is in a recession. During a recent appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Yellen stated, “This is not an economy that’s in recession. But we’re in a period of transition in which growth is slowing and that’s necessary and appropriate and we need to be growing at a steady and sustainable pace.” President Biden has similarly said that the current economic situation “doesn’t sound like a recession.”

Despite the common understanding of recession, there is no formal, universally accepted definition of recession. As The Hill notes, the National Bureau of Economic Research is the organization tasked with officially declaring a recession. The NBER defines a recession as “a significant decline in economic activity that is spread across the economy and lasts more than a few months.” NBER often waits until long after a recession has begun to declare that a recession is indeed under way, according to Fortune. Chinese Live-Fire Drills Begin Around Taiwan After Pelosi’s Visit

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is no longer in Taiwan, but on Thursday China made good on its promise that the island will pay a price for hosting the highest-ranking US official to visit in 25 years.

The Chinese military’s Eastern Theater Command said it conducted long-range, live-fire training in the Taiwan Strait on Thursday, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

Earlier in the day, Chinese state media said that exercises to simulate an air and sea “blockade” around Taiwan had started Wednesday, but offered little solid evidence to back up the claim.

The military posturing was a deliberate show of force after Pelosi left the island on Wednesday evening, bound for South Korea. (Read more from “Chinese Live-Fire Drills Begin Around Taiwan After Pelosi’s Visit” HERE)
