Biden Admin Used Taxpayer Funds to ‘Sponsor’ Foreign Journalists Attending Climate Change ‘Reporting Tour,’ Emails Reveal

Last year, the Biden administration used taxpayer dollars to “sponsor” multiple foreign journalists to attend a virtual “tour” intended to educate them on climate change reporting, Fox News Digital reported.

According to internal emails obtained by Protect the Public’s Trust, a government watchdog project, officials from Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry’s office and the Office of Global Change exchanged emails in March 2021 discussing a proposal to sponsor international journalists.

The Foreign Press Centers, an agency within the Bureau of Global Public Affairs, was lined up to sponsor the reporting tour — “Combating the Climate Crisis Through U.S. Innovation.” The FPC’s mission is to further “global understanding of U.S. policy, society, culture, and values through engagement with foreign media.” In addition, the department provides foreign news outlets with “authoritative American information sources.”

The Media’s Startling Incuriosity About COVID-19’s Origin

Lately, it feels as if the COVID-19 pandemic happened to somebody else — that we were just spectators who watched it all unfold only to forget what we saw. And yet the devastation of pandemic policies remains with us . But the anger and frustration the public once expressed toward the pandemic and its accompanying restrictions seem to have vanished.

Even the media seem to have finally moved on. No longer do liberal commentators wax poetic about how many Sept. 11s the pandemic had equaled in terms of the death count. That comparison, of course, was always facile, but at least it signaled a desire to get to the bottom of things and hold those responsible to account.

The problem is our media were never really interested in accountability. They refused to entertain the possibility that COVID-19 might have leaked from a Wuhan lab since any suggestion of that nature evinced anti-Asian racism, and instead channeled their frustration toward a secondary target. The real culprit, as one New York Times opinion piece breathlessly intoned, was “decades of global environmental heedlessness” along with underfunded science, for which former President Donald Trump’s knuckle-dragging mob could doubtless be thanked. It was with Trump & Co. in mind that our fearless liberal news hosts seethingly recited the updated death toll each night.

But following an article in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists , published in May of 2021, that cast doubt over the natural origin theory and raised the possibility that the virus had escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the media’s palpable anger began to fade into something like quiet resignation. The growing possibility that COVID-19 was itself the fruit of scientific research in Chinese biolabs, which involved splicing together COVID strains in order to make them more infectious in humans (i.e., “gain of function” research), left the media suddenly uninterested in the blame game. And they’ve been allergic to the topic of COVID’s origins ever since.

Consider the strangeness of the media’s incuriosity regarding COVID’s origins. If COVID really were the equivalent of a thousand Sept. 11s, shouldn’t we at least attempt to understand what happened in order to prevent it from ever happening again? Senator Demands Investigation Into Secret FBI Gun Confiscation Forms

A Republican senator is calling for an investigation into the FBI, Secret Service, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement for secretly coordinating to strip U.S. citizens of their rights to own, use, or even buy firearms.

The Washington Examiner reported on Dec. 13 that the three federal agencies waived people’s gun rights without congressional approval with internal forms. Now, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) wants answers from the government on this “extremely concerning” revelation and for Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, to “immediately hold a hearing” with FBI, ICE, and Secret Service officials.

“It is extremely concerning that federal agents have allegedly been pressuring American citizens to waive their constitutional rights. The Second Amendment is not negotiable and cannot be waived by signing a form, regardless of what the deep state wishes,” Blackburn, who is also a member of the Judiciary Committee, told the Washington Examiner.

Billionaire Mark Cuban Says Trump Was ‘Political Chemotherapy’ and ‘Changed the System’

Billionaire Mark Cuban told comedian Bill Maher that former President Donald Trump reset the American political system.

The duo were talking politics on Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, with Cuban saying that, while he has no political aspirations, if he did run, he’d run as a Republican.

“I can f**k with them more, and I think they’re more pragmatic,” Cuban said. “But I think Democrats are smarter.”

Maher then retorted that Democrats are too committed to identity politics and that Cuban, being white, would have little chance of winning a Democratic primary. Cuban then expressed support for ranked choice voting because it “eliminates extremism,” while Maher said the political climate is “rough because this is a team era when people just want to hear what they believe.”

Pork, Parks, And Woke: All The ‘Fun’ Features In $1.7 Trillion Omnibus

Critics are howling at spending perks and rules littered throughout the $1.7 trillion “omnibus” bill meant to fund the federal government for another fiscal year.

The legislation was unveiled in the Senate early Tuesday and boasts $858 billion in defense funding as well as $772.5 billion for non-defense “discretionary programs,” according to a summary. Time is of the essence as funding expires Friday at midnight, leaving some lawmakers to grumble while poring over the legislation that is more than 4,000 pages long.

Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) shared a Twitter thread on what he dubbed “some of the most egregious provisions in the bill.” First on his list was a section outlining requirements of more than $1.5 million geared toward “border management requirements” for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, including a ban on using those funds “to acquire, maintain, or extend border security technology and capabilities, except for technology and capabilities to improve Border Patrol processing.”

Detecting something “fishy,” Bishop noted that the word “salmon” appears 48 times in the bill, which included a $65 million commitment to Pacific coastal salmon recovery. He also found $3 million for bee-friendly highways.

The conservative Heritage Foundation released a list of its own focused on “WOKE PRIORITIES IN THE OMNIBUS,” including several LGBTQ projects and “anti-racism” initiatives.

The Latest January 6 Development Puts FBI in Embarrassing Situation

. . .The House Select Committee on January 6, which proved to be Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) swan song, issued its referrals which carry little to no legal weight. The Department of Justice, while corrupt and politicized, isn’t going to charge former President Donald Trump on the slew of ludicrous allegations that have been lobbed against him by this anti-Trump political circus. It was a riot, but it wasn’t an armed rebellion, an insurrection, or worse than the American Civil War, Pearl Harbor, or the 9/11 attacks. Everyone but bubble liberals have moved on with their lives, but since they keep bringing it up, let’s take a gander at the latest development which makes the Democratic Party’s most trusted ally—the Federal Bureau of Investigation—look grossly incompetent.

You’d be correct if you guessed that a confidential informant told the bureau that there was a good chance that violence could engulf the capital that day. You’ll also win an adult-sized stuffed panda bear if you also guessed that the FBI did absolutely nothing about it. Our great FBI was receiving an avalanche of threats but doing nothing about them. Maybe that’s because they had too many agents perusing social media to censor and influence public opinion in favor of the Democrats (via NBC News):

On Dec. 19, 2020, the day that then-President Donald Trump sent a tweet summoning his supporters to a “wild” protest in the nation’s capital on Jan. 6, one of the FBI’s own confidential sources warned the bureau that the far-right considered Trump’s message “a call to arms,” according to an email reviewed by NBC News.

That tip to the FBI, from a source who is still used by the bureau and spoke on the condition of anonymity, warned there was a “big” threat of violence on Jan. 6. It was among hundreds of pages of reports viewed by NBC News that this source sent to the FBI in the weeks before the deadly attack on the U.S. Capitol. The email, which has not been previously reported, warned that the Trump tweet was “gaining hold” on social media.

“Trump tweeted what people on the right are considering a call to arms in DC on Jan 6,” the confidential source wrote on the afternoon of Dec. 19, the day of Trump’s 1:42 a.m. “will be wild” tweet.

Report: Attacks on Christian Churches Nearly Triple in Four Years

Attacks on Christian churches have nearly tripled in the last four years, according to a 84-page report released by Family Research Council (FRC) in December.

Between January 2018 and September 2022, FRC found 420 documented acts of hostility against 397 separate churches in the United States.

Many cases included incidences of vandalism, bomb threats, arson, and gun-related violence.

“The report documents one homicide, numerous arsons, bomb threats (real and fake), and a pervasive desecration of holy items. Vandals regularly smashed crosses, statues, and headstones in cemeteries; vandalized carvings of the Ten Commandments; set fire to a Nativity scene; and smeared feces on a statue of the Virgin Mary,” according to the Washington Stand, FRC’s news outlet. Ukraine’s Zelensky in DC; Biden Meet, Congress Address

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to speak to Congress and President Joe Biden on Wednesday and claim the $45 billion worth of aid designated for Ukraine in the $1.7 trillion omnibus bill is not enough support.

Congress is weighing whether to pass the massive $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill that designates $45 billion in military and economic aid for Ukraine. The $45 billion is in addition to the $66 billion lawmakers have already approved of taxpayers’ money for Ukraine.

On Tuesday, Zelensky released a video revealing he will tell Biden and Congress $45 billion is still not enough support. . .

Zelensky’s claim that $45 billion is not enough aid – on top of the already approved $66 billion – comes as the omnibus bill is expected to approve a military budget of about $858 billion, $45 billion more than Biden had requested from taxpayers. ‘Twitter Files’ Make It Clear: We Must Abolish the FBI

As we learn more and more from the “Twitter Files,” it is becoming all too obvious that Federal agencies such as the FBI viewed the First Amendment of our Constitution as an annoyance and an impediment. In Friday’s release from the pre-Musk era, journalist Matt Taibbi makes an astute observation: Twitter was essentially an FBI subsidiary.

The FBI, we now know, was obsessed with Twitter. We learned that agents sent Twitter Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth some 150 emails between 2020 and 2022. Those emails regularly featured demands from US government officials for the “private” social media company to censor comments and ban commenters they did not like.

The Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF), a US government entity that included the FBI as well as other US intelligence agencies expressly forbidden from domestic activities, numbered 80 agents engaged regularly in telling Twitter which Tweets to censor and which accounts to ban. The Department of Homeland Security brought in outside government contractors and (government-funded) non-governmental organizations to separately pressure Twitter to suppress speech the US government did not like.

US Federal government agencies literally handed Twitter lists of Americans it wanted to see silenced, and Twitter complied. Let that sink in.

This should be a massive scandal and likely it would have been had it occurred under a Trump Administration. Indeed, Congress would be gearing up for Impeachment 3.0 if Trump-allied officials had engaged in such egregious behavior. But since these US government employees were by-and-large acting to suppress pro-Trump sentiment, all we hear are crickets.

What is interesting about these Twitter revelations is how obsessed the FBI and its government partners were with satire and humor. Even minor Twitter accounts with small numbers of followers were constantly flagged by the Feds for censorship and deletion. But knowledge of history helps us understand this obsession: in Soviet times the population was always engaged in joking about the ineptitude, corruption, and idiocy of the political class. Underground publications known as samizdat were rich with satire, humor, and ridicule. . .

Gay Republican Who Allegedly Lied About His Background Responds to NY Times Bombshell by Blaming ‘The Left’

George Santos, the subject of a bombshell New York Times investigation that alleges he appears to have made up large parts of his resume, is responding to the paper of record’s report – through his attorney – in a statement that blames “the Left” for apparent false claims about his work history, colleges attended, and even co-workers who he claimed died during the Pulse nightclub hate crime mass shooting.

Santos, the first out gay Republican to be elected to Congress, is a MAGA supporter who was endorsed by House GOP Caucus chair Elise Stefanik. . .

In its damning and thorough report, The New York Times reveals both Citigroup and Goldman Sachs “told The Times they had no record of [Santos] ever working there,” despite Santos’ claims he had. Santos claims he graduated from Baruch College in 2010, but officials “could find no record of anyone matching his name and date of birth graduating that year.”

Santos even claimed he founded “an animal rescue charity that saved more than 2,500 dogs and cats,” but there is “little evidence that his animal rescue group, Friends of Pets United, was, as Mr. Santos claimed, a tax-exempt organization.”

Shockingly, even his claim four co-workers died at Pulse came up short. Newly elected House Republican busted as a fraud — weeks after winning his race: report

By Salon. George Santos, who flipped the House seat in New York’s 3rd Congressional District last month, made history as the first openly gay Republican to win a House seat as a non-incumbent, but his résumé appears to be filled with falsehoods, according to a deep dive by The New York Times. . .

Similarly, officials at Baruch College found no record of Santos or anyone with a matching name and date of birth graduating from the college in 2010 despite Santos claiming he received a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance.

The incoming congressman has also claimed to have a family-owned real estate portfolio of 13 properties, but The Times found no records of such properties. . .

Santos omitted key information on his personal financial disclosures and was charged with check fraud in Brazil, according to The Times.

Santos, whose parents emigrated from Brazil, spent some time there in 2008. When he was 19 years old, he stole the checkbook of a man his mother was caring for, according to Brazilian court records uncovered by The Times.
