Judge Dismisses Obstruction Charge Against January 6th Defendant Who Said ‘Spirit of God’ Moved Him in Capitol

D.C. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson acquitted a January 6 defendant of obstruction on Friday after ruling that prosecutors presented no evidence that the defendant intended to stop Congress that day.

Joshua Black of Alabama was cleared of the charge because Jackson said the “unique stew in his mind” that was described during the trial showed that Black did not know that what he was participating in was unlawful. Black was convicted of other charges, including carrying a deadly weapon on Capitol grounds.

Black was arrested shortly after the riot at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. After the riot, he traveled back to Alabama and posted a video on YouTube describing his time in the U.S. Capitol. That video, as well as an anonymous tip, led the disgraced FBI to Black. . .

“I just felt like the spirit of God wanted me to go into the Senate room,” he said. (Read more from “Judge Dismisses Obstruction Charge Against January 6th Defendant Who Said ‘Spirit of God’ Moved Him in Capitol” HERE)

Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Case of Postal Worker Forced Out of Job After Requesting to Observe Sabbath

The Supreme Court has agreed to take up a case about a postal worker who was forced out of his job when he did not want to work on Sundays due to his religious convictions.

“It is unlawful for employers to discriminate against employees on the basis of religion,” Kelly Shackelford, President, CEO, and Chief Counsel for First Liberty, one of the firms representing Groff, said in a press release provided to The Daily Wire. “It’s time for the Supreme Court to reconsider a decades old case that favors corporations and the government over the religious rights of employees.”

In 2012, Gerald Groff began working for the United States Postal Service in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, after looking for a job that wouldn’t make him work on Sundays. In accordance with his religious beliefs, Groff wanted to keep the Christian Sabbath.

The post office began package delivery on Sundays for Amazon, leading Groff to decide to be moved to a different branch, although it hurt his employment standing.

The post office then began to make deliveries on Sundays, so Groff requested a religious accommodation in order to keep the Sabbath on Sunday. At first, he was given the accommodation and permitted to work more on other days. The postal service then only gave him options that would still make him work on Sundays. White House Continues to Dodge Questions About Biden’s Classified Document Scandal

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly deflected questions this week about the growing controversy surrounding classified documents that were found at the home and private office of President Joe Biden. . .

“Is the president willing to be interviewed by federal investigators about his handling of classified documents?” a reporter asked Jean-Pierre on Thursday.

“So, first, let me just say: I’m just not going to get into hypotheticals,” she responded. “This is something for the Department of —”

“It’s not a hypothetical question. There’s an investigation ongoing,” the reporter responded. “Will the president speak to investigators?”

“You’re asking me about something in the future, and I am telling you that I’m not going to get ahead of what the Department of Justice is going to decide,” Jean-Pierre claimed.

Supreme Court Leaker: One Law Clerk on Short List of Suspects

Investigators who are examining the leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade have narrowed their inquiry to a handful of suspects, including at least one law clerk, though officials have not affirmatively identified a culprit, according to people familiar with the matter.

Chief Justice John Roberts assigned the high court’s marshal, Gail Curley, to investigate the leak in May. But with the institution’s own police lacking the experience in such complex investigations, the court invited outside assistance from government investigators, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal.

The latest report marks the most significant update on the hunt for the person who leaked Alito’s draft opinion to Politico on May 2. In a small yet notable report in late July, Fox News anchor Shannon Bream reported investigators looking into the leak had “narrowed it down” to about “70 or so” people who had access to the draft, but no names of suspects emerged in her brief report.

The suspect interviews conducted by investigators were at times brief and superficial, according to a person who spoke to the WSJ. The nature of such questions included examples such as, “Did you do it? Do you know anyone who had a reason to do it?” Publicly available information about court employees was used by investigators to develop theories, one person said. Starbucks CEO Demands Employees Come Into the Office at Least Three Days a Week After Employees Refuse to Meet One Day per Week Commitment

Workers at Starbucks’ corporate office in Seattle, Washington, will be required to work in-office at least three days per week, if within commuting distance, a memo from CEO Howard Schultz describes.

Starbucks is one of several large corporations putting their foot down about employees working from home over COVID-19 safety protocols, joining Disney, which announced in early January 2023 that employees need to go to work four days per week.

Apple recently instituted a three in-office days per-week policy, and Snapchat’s parent company is requiring 80% of employee work to be done in-office, according to CNN.

Any employee who lives “within commuting distance” of the Starbucks Support Center will have to start heading to the corporate office three times per week, including Tuesday and Wednesday, starting Jan. 30, 2023.

The memo stressed that the company’s culture of togetherness and in-person connection was damaged greatly by lockdowns, both at its headquarters and its stores. Musk Vows to Disclose Censorship Practices and Make Twitter Code Open to Public

Billionaire and current Twitter CEO Elon Musk laid out a time frame for making Twitter’s recommendation code open source and publicly labeling shadowbanning Friday.

Musk is vowing to enact those changes “no later than next month.” It appears to be an effort to cultivate public trust and make good on his prior commitments to the company to make its algorithms open source, meaning available for the public to inspect.

Account status is expected to show whether a tweet or account is being throttled due to violations of Twitter policy. Currently, Twitter notes when accounts or tweets were suspended or removed but does not divulge when content is “shadowbanned” or devalued in its algorithms to curtail the spread of flagged material on the platform.

“Twitter is working on a software update that will show your true account status, so you know clearly if you’ve been shadowbanned, the reason why and how to appeal,” Musk explained in December. (Read more from “Musk Vows to Disclose Censorship Practices and Make Twitter Code Open to Public” HERE)

We’re Headed Toward Armageddon

“Ukraine is already a de facto member of NATO.” — Oleksii Reznikov, Defense Minister of Ukraine

If reports are correct that modern Western weapon systems are slated to pour into Ukraine–the latest US and German tanks, Patriot missile systems, and other current weaponry–Minister Reznikov is correct.

These weapons imply that Ukraine has enough soldiers left to use them. It will require months to prepare Ukraine for these weapons. A logistical system is necessary for the delivery, maintenance, and protection of the weaponry from Russian air and missile attack. This will require US/NATO personnel on the ground in Ukraine if the weapons are to be effectively used.

In other words, the “limited military operation” has widened into a war between the US/NATO/Ukraine and Russia.

Apparently, it is going to be a war without a NATO declaration of war. The reason is that if all the weaponry promised is delivered, NATO and the US will be without fighting ability except in Ukraine where the weapons will be located. Russia could, if she had the leadership, simply sweep through weapons-depleted Baltics and Finland around Germany into France and circle back to Serbia, leaving East and West Europe cut off and surrounded. But this would make the war officially one with NATO, and the US would have to use its only means–nuclear weapons.

So it looks as if Russia will continue to pretend that there is only a limited military operation, and US/NATO will continue to pretend that the weapons are just aid to Ukraine.

A Russian military operation that the Kremlin should have completed in a few days eight years ago has now, once belatedly begun, extended another year. The consequence of the Kremlin’s unpreparedness and endless delay is a full-fledged involvement of US/NATO in the war with the aim of retaking Donbass and Crimea from Russia. The increased Ukrainian firepower means far more Russian casualties, and Washington’s involvement has passed the threshold at which Washington can accept a Russian victory.

It short, the Kremlin has blown its opportunity, and we are headed toward Armageddon.

Taking Someone Under 19 to a Drag Show Would Be a Misdemeanor Under Proposed Bill

Multiple Nebraska state GOP lawmakers are backing a measure that would prohibit people younger than 19 from attending drag shows and people younger than 21 from attending such performances at any location where alcohol is served — the measure lays out consequences for businesses and adults who violate the age rules by allowing young people to attend drag shows.

“No individual under nineteen years of age shall be present at a drag show. Any person nineteen years of age or older who knowingly brings an individual under nineteen years of age to a drag show shall be guilty of a Class I misdemeanor,” the bill states. “No individual under twenty-one years of age shall be present at a drag show if alcoholic liquor is being served at such location.”

The measure goes on to stipulate that any companies, establishments, or nonprofits that hold a drag performance and run afoul of the age limit rules will get slapped with a whopping $10,000 fine for every violation.

The owner of an entity that holds a drag show and knowingly permits a person below the age limit to attend will “be guilty of a Class I misdemeanor,” the measure says. (Read more from “Taking Someone Under 19 to a Drag Show Would Be a Misdemeanor Under Proposed Bill” HERE)

Report: Vasectomies in High Demand Following Roe v. Wade Reversal

Doctors say they are seeing a “drastic increase in vasectomies” following the Supreme Court’s decision to overrule Roe v. Wade and return the issue of abortion back to the states, Yahoo News reported on Thursday.

“There was an increase of basically 100 percent in the number of vasectomies from the moment Roe v. Wade was overturned,” Dr. Esgar Guarin, the co-founder of SimpleVas Medical Clinic, told the outlet.

Guarin, who is a doctor trained in maternal, child, and “reproductive health” in Des Moines, Iowa, said that his office signed up 50 percent of the patients that they would normally have for vasectomies in a month “within only 48 hours” of the high court’s decision on June 24, 2022. The report noted that typically, around 500,000 vasectomies are performed every year in the United States as a form of “permanent birth control for men.”

Planned Parenthood’s office in St. Louis has also noticed an increase in vasectomies, telling Live Action in November of 2022 that the pro-abortion organization has “seen an increasing number of male-bodied people coming and requesting this service.” (Read more from “Report: Vasectomies in High Demand Following Roe v. House Oversight Demands List of Names and Locations Linked to Biden’s Classified Docs

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is not going to let the Biden White House off the hook after classified documents were found at President Joe Biden’s Delaware home.

On Friday, Comer pressed Biden’s legal team demanding a list of names and locations linked to the search of documents that were kept in the president’s garage and office.

The Republican also asked for a list of security clearance levels, and the job titles of any aid attorney assigned by Biden to search for the private papers among his personal belongings.

This comes a day after Comer said that the Biden Administration has a “history of covering things up.” (Read more from “House Oversight Demands List of Names and Locations Linked to Biden’s Classified Docs” HERE)
