‘They Are Loving Us to Death’: Homeless Say Portland’s Policies Make It Too Easy to Live on the Street, Fail to Empower

A recent video of a homeless woman living on the streets of Portland declaring that the city’s policies have failed to empower the homeless population went viral on Twitter, KATU reported.

Kevin Dahlgren, who does homeless outreach for the nonprofit We Heart Portland, posted a candid interview on social media featuring a woman named Wendy, who has been living in a tent on the streets.

When asked what it is like to be homeless in Portland, Wendy tells Dahlgren that “it’s a piece of cake.”

“I mean, that’s why you probably got so many out here because they feed you three meals a day,” Wendy told Dahlgren. “You don’t have to do s*** but stay in your tent or party. Or, if you smoke a lot of dope, you can do that.”

Former Democratic Party Chair Sentenced to 22 Months in Prison

A former Louisiana State Senator and chair of the state’s Democrat Party was sentenced to 22 months in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to federal wire fraud.

Karen Carter Peterson made headlines in April 2022 when she resigned from the Louisiana state senate after twenty-two years, citing her poor mental health and a gambling addiction.

Months later, an August federal probe accused Peterson of stealing campaign funds to gamble with. The 53-year-old admitted she stole over $140,000 from her 2019 reelection campaign and the Louisiana Democrat party’s funding to fuel her addiction.

Peterson had served for twenty-two years in the Louisiana legislature and chaired the state’s Democrat party from 2012-2020. Her lawyers blamed her gambling problem on a “diminished mental capacity,” and pushed for U.S. District Judge Sarah Vance to keep her out of prison because of this, according to NOLA News. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders Bans ‘Latinx’ From Arkansas Government Documents

Arkansas Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders will prohibit the use of the term “Latinx” in government documents through an executive order.

Sanders, who was sworn in as the first female governor of Arkansas on Tuesday, justified the ban of the word “Latinx” in government documents and name titles by citing a Pew Research poll that found only 3% of American Latinos and Hispanics used the term to describe themselves.

“Ethnically insensitive and pejorative language has no place in official government documents or government employee titles,” Sanders’ executive order states. “The government has a responsibility to respect its citizens and use ethnically appropriate language, particularly when referring to ethnic minorities.”

Progressive groups and some politicians have pushed the term “Latinx” in recent years as a gender-neutral alternative to the Spanish words Latina and Latino.

Sanders noted in the executive order that the Real Academia Española, a Madrid-based institution that serves as a linguistic guide for Spanish, officially rejects the use of “x” to replace “o” and “a” as a way to identify gender in the language. New FBI Rulebook Shows It Collaborated With CIA and NSA to Spy on Americans

With the online publication of its 2021 Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide, the FBI confirmed in a heavily redacted section 20.2 that it collaborates with the NSA and CIA to spy on Americans, even if those Americans have not committed any crimes and are not under any kind of court order.

FBI surveillance of Americans includes:

— Domestic FBI probes, called “assessments,” for which the bureau solicits data from the CIA and NSA so as to prevent federal crimes and national security threats.

— Probe criteria, mainly an “authorized purpose” and clear objective, that do not require the possession of a court warrant.

Harvey Weinstein Files NYC Appeal

Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and his attorneys have filed an appeal in New York City, claiming that a “carnival atmosphere” surrounding the 2020 proceedings prevented him from receiving a fair trial.

Weinstein attorney Arthur L. Aidala — of Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins — said that despite being found guilty and sentenced to 23 years in New York, his client had never once wavered from maintaining his innocence.

“The day I met Harvey in 2019 he told me, ‘I was innocent.’ Despite all the negative things that have happened from 2019 to today, the one thing that hasn’t been diminished is his powerful defense of himself and his proclamations of innocence. He has not given up,” Aidala said in a statement to entertainment outlet Page Six.

White House Refuses to Address Why It Didn’t Publicly Disclose Biden Classified Documents Sooner

The White House on Wednesday refused to answer questions about why it did not publicly disclose for two months that classified government documents had been found in a private university office in Washington that was used by President Biden.

The documents were discovered on Nov. 2, just six days before the midterm elections, but the matter only became public Monday when uncovered by CBS News.

At a contentious daily press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stonewalled against a barrage of questions about the delay.

“I’m not going to get into details. I’m not going to get beyond what the president shared yesterday,” Ms. Jean-Pierre said, referring reporters to a statement released by the White House Counsel’s Office on Monday.

By Daily Mail. Republicans on Tuesday demanded to know why the fact President Joe Biden had classified documents from when he was vice president at his think tank wasn’t revealed until after the midterm elections with one calling it a ‘cover up.’

‘When you cover up something before an election,’ Republican Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska told reporters on Capitol Hill Tuesday morning ‘that is probably a point that needs to be highlighted.’ . . .

The White House announced late Monday that Biden’s lawyers discovered 10 classified documents in his former office at a Washington think tank on November 2.

That was six days before the midterm election, where Republicans won control of the House but not by the landslide many had predicted.

The announcement of such a discovery likely would have a been a political explosion in the election akin to the FBI announcing in 2016, eleven days before the election, the discovery of additional Hillary Clinton emails. Marjorie Taylor Greene: Impeach Joe Biden for Mishandling Classified Documents, ‘Vice Presidents Cannot Declassify Docs’

By Breitbart. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said President Joe Biden should be impeached for mishandling classified documents reportedly related to Ukraine and Iran dated between 2013 and 2016.

Greene explained the stark difference in Biden’s mishandling of documents compared to the alleged claim that former President Donald Trump safely stored documents at Mar-a-Lago.

“This is a very serious situation. Vice presidents cannot declassify documents. And the fact that Joe Biden is in possession of classified documents when he was vice president, signals we need to have a serious investigation into this,” Greene told C-Span.

“There is a true two tier justice system stemming from the department of justice in the way President Trump has been treated — who is allowed to classify and declassify documents. Presidents can do that,” she said.

Dress Code Pondered in Light of Trans Teacher’s Disgusting Attire; Tucker Carlson Hammers the Insanity

Kerry Lemieux is free to skydive with Z-cup plastic breasts in 2023, but will the Halton District School Board’s decision to create a dress code prevent the trans shop teacher from wearing the controversial attire that has put [him] in the spotlight.

In a major reversal that could possibly prevent Lemieux from wearing giant prosthetic breasts, the HDSB on Jan. 3 directed staff to develop a “professional standards of dress” policy.

Since September, Lemieux has taught at Oakville Trafalgar High School, wearing extra-large, retail-purchased breasts with artificial nipples under a tight top, along with flex shorts and a blonde wig. While many students and parents have expressed concern this actually mocks women and makes a mockery of the education experience, the board has supported the teacher’s right to dress in this manner. . .

“Be it resolved that the Director (of Education Curtis Ennis) develop a professionalism policy which outlines the HDSB’s expectations of all staff members, including the requirement to maintain appropriate and professional standards of dress and decorum in the classroom,” said the unanimous motion.

This report is expected to be completed by next month. Until then, Lemieux is free to dress as [he] has been seen in videos and pictures from inside the classroom, hallways, skydiving or more recently walking with a cast boot on a foot that suffered an unknown injury. While the instructor was seen teaching in several other HDSB schools in December, there was no sighting on Monday, the first day students returned to class after the Christmas holidays. Tucker Carlson Says Brazilian Election Rigged, Compares Protests There to Jan. 6 (VIDEO)

Tucker Carlson … claimed Brazil’s presidential election was rigged and said rioters who stormed government buildings in the capital city have reason to be angry.

Scores of supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro stormed government buildings in Brasilia on Sunday. Many say he – and not President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (or, Lula) – won. About 1,500 arrests have been made in connection with the riots. . .

On Monday, Carlson, who conducted a softball interview with Bolsonaro in June, told his audience unequivocally that Brazil’s election was “very clearly” stolen.

“Consider what is happening tonight in Brazil,” he said. “Thanks to what was very clearly a rigged election, a convicted criminal – Lula da Silva – is now the president of the most important country in South America. Millions of people in Brazil understand exactly what happened. They know that their democracy has been hijacked, possibly forever.” . . .

“What’s happened in Brazil is likened to Jan. 6,” he continued. “And of course, populist leaders in this country are being blamed for it. ‘Oh, it was Trump and Steve Bannon who did it.’ That’s not true, but even if it were true, it would be just the tail-end of the story. Mexican President Amlo Praises Biden for Halting Border Wall: ‘Thank You’

Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) thanked President Joe Biden for halting the construction of border wall along the United States-Mexico border at a North American summit on Tuesday.

Alongside Biden and Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, AMLO praised Biden’s immediate halt to border wall construction along the southern border. The day after taking office, Biden signed an executive order that stopped all wall construction that had been underway by former President Trump.

“You, President Biden, you are the first president of the United States in a very long time that has not built, not even one meter, of wall,” AMLO said during remarks at the summit. “In that, we thank you for that sir.
