Texas County Sees 540% Human Smuggling Increase Thanks to U.S. Border Crisis

A rural Texas county with just 800 citizens saw 7,400 illegal migrants arrested last year — but admits thousands more are getting away.

Terrell County, which has more cacti than residents, arrested nine border crossers for each of its citizens according to Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland — a 540% increase in the number captured since 2020.

Numbers have exploded as the southern border is besieged by millions running away from failing states in Southern and Central America, and desperation is pushing smugglers to make the days-long trek through his territory, which is why he’s asking Gov. Greg Abbott for desperately needed help.

“It is imperative we expand border security operations here as cartel operatives continue to operate and increase their smuggling routes through our county,” he told The Post.

Cleveland, 49, patrols the county with two deputies. They have 50 border patrol officers stationed in the county, who make the bulk of arrests of illegals. Federal agents who work in other areas of the border are sent to Sanderson for two weeks at a time to help deal with the 91 miles of the most hostile terrain on the southern border. Tulsi Gabbard Rips Mitt Romney During Hearing for Accusing Her of ‘Treason’ (VIDEO)

Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard testified at a weaponization subcommittee hearing on Thursday, ripping Republican Utah Sen. Mitt Romney for accusing her of “treason.”

“Senator Mitt Romney accused me of treason, a crime that is punishable by death under our laws,” Gabbard told the committee. “I challenged him to back this serious allegation up with evidence. What was this based on? There was no response, no explanation, no evidence and certainly no apology.”

The allegations of Gabbard’s “treasonous” behavior stem from a tweet the former representative shared expressing concern that reported biolabs in Ukraine, if breached, could result in “deadly pathogens” being spread throughout the world. Romney responded to Gabbard’s video with his own tweet, saying, “Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda. Her treasonous lies may well cost lives.”

Gabbard, who was a member of the Hawaii National Guard, continued her testimony by pointing out that those kinds of accusations are often shrugged off and dismissed as politics.

“That may be easy for some of you to say, but for somebody who wears the uniform, this is serious. It’s serious not only to me but to my fellow service members and veterans. Every one of us making a decision that at some point in our lives to raise our right hand prepared and volunteering to lay our life down for this country,” she stated. Not One Student Was Proficient In Math In Major City’s Schools: REPORT

In 23 Baltimore City Schools, zero students tested proficient in math in 2022, according to a report by Project Baltimore.

Through an analysis of 150 Baltimore City Schools, 23 of them, including 10 high schools, eight elementary schools, three high schools and two middle schools, no students met math grade-level expectations, according to a report by Project Baltimore. Approximately 2,000 students took the state administered math exams that tested proficiency levels.

“It just sounds like these schools, now, have turned into essentially babysitters with no accountability,” Jovani Patterson, a Baltimore resident who sued the district for not properly educating its students, told Fox 45 News. “This is the future of our city. We’ve got to change this.”

An additional 20 schools in the district had no more than two students proficient in math, Project Baltimore reported. Another three schools in the district, which are for incarcerated students and students with disabilities, had no students that met grade-level expectations.

WWIII Watch: UK Set to Send Long Range Missiles to Ukraine

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has suggested that British long-range missiles, which the Ukrainians say they want to use to launch an offensive against occupied Crimea, could be sent to Ukraine as the war heats up one year on since the invasion. Meanwhile, Zelensky warns that Russia intends to invade EU-member-candidate Moldova next.

Following Rishi Sunak’s declaration that “nothing is off the table” on military aid to Ukraine, Whitehall is now actively considering sending long-range missiles to the war-torn country in addition to potential fighter jets. Speaking from the Lulworth army camp in Dorset on Wednesday, the prime minister said: “Probably the most crucial capability right now is main battle tanks, which we led on, but also those long-range missiles.

“In all the talking we’ve done and the planning for how we can have the sight of victory in the battlefield and make progress, it requires long-range missiles,” Sunak continued. “Currently the range is not there. That’s the conversation we’ve been having and again we hope Britain can lead.”

According a report from The Times of London, the two types of missiles being considered are the 150-mile range truck or ship-mounted Harpoon high-explosive anti-ship missiles and the deep penetration blast Storm Shadow [general purpose cruise missile] with a range of 350 miles. Same-Sex Marriages to Receive Blessings in the Church of England

Same-sex marriages will receive “prayers for God’s blessing” for the first time in the Church of England following a vote at the General Synod, the legislative body of the established church of England.

On Thursday, the three houses of the Synod voted in favour of officially recognising gay marriages for the first time, with priests now being empowered to give their blessings to such unions.

The vote was overwhelmingly approved by the House of Bishops, which supported the measure by a margin of 36 to four, with two members of the house abstaining from the vote. However, the issue was far more contested amongst the lower houses of the Synod, with the House of Clergy backing the measure by a vote of 111 to 85, with three abstentions, and by the House of Laity which supported the move by a margin of 103 to 92, with five abstaining members.

In a joint statement, the two most senior bishops in the Church, Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Stephen Cottrell, the Archbishop of York said: “It has been a long road to get us to this point.

Jeffrey Epstein Docs With Names of Associates to Reportedly Be Made Public

The last batch of documents with the names of those associated with deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein will be unsealed in the near future, according to media reports.

The Daily Mail reported that the material is expected to be made public in the coming months, nearly four years after Epstein took his own life while incarcerated in a New York federal correctional facility. The documents are expected to contain the names of associates, victims, and employees connected to Epstein.

They refer to “alleged perpetrators” or those accused of “serious wrongdoing” as well as law enforcement officers and prosecutors.

Epstein was associated and friends with many public figures, including Bill Gates and former presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton. It was not clear if those names will be mentioned in the material. Prince Andrew who is accused of having sex with Epstein victim Virginia Roberts, now Virginia Giuffre, underage, and attorney Alan Dershowitz, are understood to be among the individuals mentioned in the papers, according to the Daily Mail report.

The documents have been sealed since Epstein killed himself in 2019 and were used in a defamation case brought by Roberts in 2015 against Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of sex trafficking and recruiting minors for Epstein. FBI Searching Mike Pence’s Home For Classified Material

The FBI showed up to former Vice President Mike Pence’s home in Indiana on Friday to search for classified materials after Pence’s legal team found classified documents inside the home last month.

Pence directed his team to search his home in Indiana and his office at his political advocacy group, Advancing American Freedom (AAF), following revelations that classified documents had been discovered in Biden’s office at the Penn Biden Center, a Washington think tank affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. No classified papers turned up in the search of Pence’s offices at AAF.

Biden’s Attorneys Transferred Cache of Docs From Boston Law Office to National Archives, Emails Show

The National Archives asked President Biden’s attorneys to turn over a previously unknown stash of documents transferred to a Boston law office after classified documents were discovered at Mr. Biden’s Washington think tank in November.

The new detail was revealed amid 74 pages of emails between the National Archives and the president’s personal attorneys released in response to a Freedom of Information Act request on Friday.

“Please ensure that the boxes in your office in Boston remain secure in a locked space and are not accessed by anyone,” National Archives General Counsel Gary Stern wrote to Mr. Biden’s attorneys Patrick Moore and Bob Bauer.

The email was dated Nov. 7, five days after Mr. Biden’s lawyers say they first discovered the stash of classified documents.

Mr. Moore reportedly transferred a set of personal documents from the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement to his law office in Boston before classified documents were discovered. Starbucks’ $4,400 Error and 2 Bounced Checks Cost Family a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ Vacation: Report

A quick stop at Starbucks cost one Oklahoma man more than he bargained for when an error caused him to be charged almost $4,500 for two coffees, and he and his wife had to cancel an upcoming family vacation as a result.

On January 7, Jesse O’Dell went through the drive-thru of a nearby Starbucks in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For almost 16 years, Jesse made that trip almost every day, ordering an iced Americano for his wife, Deedee, and a caramel frappuccino for himself, which usually cost him just over $11. But on that day, a mysterious $4,444.44 gratuity was somehow added to the bill, bringing the total charged to his credit card to a staggering $4,456.27.

At first, Jesse did not notice the issue, but a few days later, Deedee attempted to use the same card when shopping at the mall with their four children, and the card was declined. Jesse then immediately contacted the Starbucks district manager, who gave him a copy of his receipt, showing the exorbitant gratuity.

Starbucks then also promised to correct the error by issuing the couple two checks that would cover the cost. Sure enough, they received the two checks in short order and went to the bank to deposit them. However, both of those checks bounced, leaving the couple angry and frustrated. . .

Unfortunately, that second round of checks came too late for the O’Dells, who had a “once in a lifetime” vacation to Thailand planned. Deedee, who was born in Thailand but adopted and raised in the United States, has not seen her sisters in nearly two decades. The family was scheduled to make the trip on January 27, but had to cancel because of the missing funds. Biden Makes Eyebrow-Raising Admission About Documents Seized From His Home — Then Blames Staffers (VIDEO)

President Joe Biden admitted Wednesday that at least one document seized by federal investigators from his private residence in Wilmington, Delaware, is nearly 50 years old.

At the end of an interview with Biden, PBS anchor Judy Woodruff asked the president why his condemnation of former President Donald Trump for retaining classified documents — Biden called it “totally irresponsible” — does not also apply to him.

“What I was talking about was what was laid out,” Biden said, referring to the infamous picture the Justice Department included in court documents showing classified documents on the floor of Mar-a-Lago.

But ignoring the fact that some of the documents found at his former Washington office reportedly contained highly classified intelligence markings, Biden then tried to defend himself by noting that he “voluntarily” allowed federal agents to search his home.

“In the best of my knowledge, the kinds of things they picked up were things that from 1974 and stray papers,” Biden admitted. “There may be something else, I don’t know.”
