House Dems Ignore Biden Veto Threat, Help Pass Israel Aid With IRS Cuts

Twelve House Democrats joined with Republicans on Thursday to pass a White House-opposed plan offset $14.3 billion in aid for Israel by slashing the same amount of funds meant for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The GOP measure to provide emergency aid to Israel as it fights Hamas passed by a 226-196 vote, sending the legislation to the Democrat-led Senate where Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has already vowed not to bring it up for consideration.

Instead, Schumer announced earlier in the day, the Senate would “work on our own bipartisan emergency aid package that includes funding for aid to Israel, Ukraine, humanitarian aid including for Gaza, and competition with the Chinese Government.”

But the passage of the GOP House plan has already proven to be bipartisan with a dozen Democrats voting in favor of it: Reps. Angie Craig (D-MN), Don Davis (D-NC), Lois Frankel (D-FL), Jared Golden (D-ME), Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Greg Landsman (D-OH), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), Darren Soto (D-FL), Haley Stevens (D-MI), Juan Vargas (D-CA), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), and Frederica Wilson (D-FL). Election Fraud: Democrat Primary Result Thrown Out After Video of Ballot Stuffing Surfaces

A Connecticut judge was forced to throw out the results of a Democrat mayoral primary after surveillance videos showed possible ballot stuffing that a local judge said rendered the court “unable to determine the legitimate result.”

This week, Superior Court Judge William Clark ordered a new Democratic primary due to the misconduct. He claimed that the number of tampered ballots found changed the results of the original election, according to NBC Connecticut.

“The volume of ballots so mishandled is such that it calls the result of the primary election into serious doubt and leaves the court unable to determine the legitimate result of the primary,” Clark wrote in his ruling, adding that the videos “are shocking to the court and should be shocking to all the parties.”

Security footage allegedly shows people stuffing ballot boxes with numerous absentee votes.

According to Connecticut law, it is a state felony to be in possession of someone else’s ballot unless you are a “designee” for that person. Any individual who requests more than five absentee ballots must report to the town clerk where voters received the ballots. FDA Looks to Ban Controversial Food Additive: ‘No Longer Considered Safe’

The Food and Drug Administration may ban the use of brominated vegetable oil (BVO) in food, the agency announced in a statement on Thursday.

The organization “proposed to revoke the regulation authorizing” its use and declared that “the intended use of BVO in food is no longer considered safe,” citing studies conducted in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which found potentially dangerous health effects.

The citrus-boosting additive was previously used in beverages including Gatorade, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and other products and still remains in drinks including Sun Drop and numerous off-brand sodas.

Salon Magazine: MAGA Republicans, Christian Nationalism ‘Bigger Threat to America Than Hamas’

Today’s Republicans, as well as Christian nationalism, are a greater threat to the United States than the Hamas terrorist organization, which is responsible for scores of terror attacks including the most recent massacre of over 1,000 civilians — according to a recent Salon piece that is drawing fierce backlash for the “gross” assertion.

Following the deadliest attack on Jewish people since the Nazi Holocaust, Salon magazine published an essay declaring MAGA Republicans and Christian supporters a “bigger threat” to America than the Hamas terrorist perpetrators.

The Thursday essay, titled “MAGA and Christian nationalism: Bigger threat to America than Hamas could ever be,” was penned by columnist Brian Karem, the former senior White House correspondent for Playboy.

Watchdog Report: U.S. Has Given Afghanistan $11 Billion in Aid Since Disastrous Biden Withdrawal

John Sopko, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), issued his latest report on Monday.

The report revealed the United States and its allies have supported the Afghan economy with “cash shipments” averaging $80 million that “arrive in Kabul every 10-14 days” ever since the Taliban takeover and President Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal in 2021. The U.S. has sent over $11 billion in assistance to Afghanistan and Afghan refugees since then.

Sopko quoted U.N. assurances that the money is “placed in designated U.N. accounts in a private bank,” rather than being “deposited in the central bank or provided to the Taliban.”

The U.N. Report: Biden To Pay Foreign Countries To Control Inflow of Illegal Aliens to U.S.

President Joe Biden is reportedly set to unveil a plan that would pay foreign countries with American tax dollars to control the inflow of illegal immigration to the United States.

Biden, on Friday, will meet with leaders from several North and South American countries to lay out a plan to finance economic projects in the region, which, in return, the White House hopes will help manage illegal immigration to the U.S.

“The hope is to expand economic prospects in the Western Hemisphere so migrants do not head to the United States,” Reuters reports:

The United States is working with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which promotes economic development in Latin America and the Caribbean, to create a new financing platform that will serve middle- and higher-income countries, the officials said, requesting anonymity to share details on the forthcoming announcements. The United States will also work to expand its contributions to the bank, one of the officials said. [Emphasis added]

Clean energy, semiconductors and medical supplies were areas where the region could compete globally, one of the officials said, adding that increased cooperation efforts could also help Latin America bolster work in space, an area where it has lagged. [Emphasis added]

Target CEO: Conservatives Upset Over Trans Merch More Dangerous to Employees Than George Floyd Riots

Target CEO Brian Cornell deflected when he was pressed Thursday about specific Target products that generated a boycott starting in May, while suggesting blowback over transgender merch came from violent customers who threatened his employees’ safety more than the George Floyd riots.

Target, as admitted by Cornell, is still suffering from abysmal sales. Outraged shoppers took to social media back in May after discovering LGBT Pride clothing for children and a transgender “tuck-friendly” bathing suit at the popular retail chain. It was also later pieced together that a designer tied to merchandise featuring occult images and phrases such as “Satan Respects Pronouns” and “Trans Witches For Abortion,” designed some of Target’s PRIDE items.

Cornell told CNBC’s Squawk Box that the violence and looting witnessed during the George Floyd riots did not compare to the trans blowback.

Leading senators are holding Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., to account for the health woes of the newly confirmed Marine commandant, whose nomination — along with hundreds of other military jobs — was blocked for months by Tuberville.

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., both suggested on Tuesday that Tuberville’s hold may have led to the recent emergency hospitalization of Marine Corps Commandant Eric Smith.

Noting that Smith has seemingly “suffered a serious setback,” Blumenthal told reporters, “There is the possibility that he may not be returning” to his job. The senator said the episode “just reemphasizes how the Tuberville hold is a desperate threat to our national security.”

“I’m just really frustrated and angry that this hold is continuing,” Blumenthal said, vowing to press Tuberville “even more vigorously.”

RFK Jr.’s Donor Data Reveals His 2024 Threat

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is collecting checks from past Donald Trump donors at a much higher rate than former Joe Biden contributors, a sign the independent presidential hopeful may pull more from the Republican electorate than Democratic voters.

A POLITICO analysis of campaign finance records also shows that Kennedy’s bid has drawn millions of dollars from donors who kept their wallets shut in the last two presidential elections, suggesting he is activating people who have been turned off by what major parties have been offering.

Though both parties insist Kennedy will be a non-factor in the campaign, there’s clear anxiety about his potential impact, especially among Republicans. The analysis of Kennedy’s campaign donations as of the most recent filing deadline shows why: His large-dollar donor base has a clear Republican lean. That also fits with limited polling that suggests Kennedy might draw more support from Republican-leaning voters.
