Special Counsel Indictment Looks Just as Bad for David Weiss as the Charged FBI Informant

On Thursday, Special Counsel David Weiss unsealed an indictment charging a longtime confidential human source (CHS) with making false statements. But it wasn’t Christopher Steele, the CHS who threw the country into turmoil for four years by peddling the fraudulent Steele dossier. Former CHS Stefan Halper, who helped further the Russia-collusion hoax, also wasn’t the subject of the indictment. Nor was CHS Rodney Joffe, who sought to destroy the Trump presidency with the Alfa Bank hoax.

No, it was the CHS who, on June 26, 2020, told his handler that the owner of Burisma claimed he had paid Hunter and Joe Biden each $5 million in bribes in exchange for protection from being investigated by the Ukrainian prosecutor.

Thursday’s indictment revealed the name of that CHS for the first time — Alexander Smirnov — and alleged that Smirnov’s aforementioned statements, which were memorialized in an FD-1023 report, were false.

False Statements Allegations

Since news first broke of the existence of that FD-1023 last summer, House Republicans championed the CHS’s reporting as further evidence of Biden family corruption, while Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley focused on the Department of Justice’s apparent failure to investigate the veracity of the FD-1023 as part of their probe into Hunter Biden’s business affairs.

Weiss’s indictment presents a powerful case that Smirnov lied on June 26, 2020, when the CHS told his handler he’d had conversations with Burisma executives in 2015 and 2016: An investigation by Weiss’s team concluded Smirnov did not meet the Burisma executives until March 1, 2017, meaning the earlier conversations could not have occurred. The indictment references introductory emails that established the alleged accurate timing of events, as well as travel records of other individuals, which contradict Smirnov’s claims. That evidence, the special counsel’s office concluded, was sufficient to charge Smirnov with making false statements and creating a false record. Bobulinsky Testifies: Hunter’s China Business Commenced Right After VP Biden’s 2015 Christmas Party

A decorated military veteran who was in business with Hunter Biden told Congress that contrary to assertions by Democrats, the work with a Communist Party of China-linked company began while Joe Biden was in power, not immediately after, according to a transcript of his testimony released Friday.

Tony Bobulinski told members of Congress in the impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden that soon after he became CEO of a venture in early 2017 involving Chinese firm CEFC, Hunter screamed angrily that the firm owed him $20 million for previous work, which would have occurred while Joe Biden was vice president.

Democrats have argued that “work was once Joe Biden was a private citizen,” Bobulinski said, but “that’s a lie.”

He said that a third investor, James Gilliar, revealed an arrangement between the Biden family and the Chinese company in a message on December 24, 2015, immediately after he was with Joe Biden at the then-vice president’s Christmas party. “There will be a deal between one of the most prominent families from US and them constructed by me [sic], I think this will then be a great addition to their portfolios,” the message said.

Bobulinski said he immediately knew which family Gilliar was talking about because Gilliar was “in D.C. to attend the Vice President’s Christmas party in December 2015. Grandma With Dementia Allegedly Raped During Vacation in Bahamas

A disturbing incident unfolded at the Warwick Hotel in the Bahamas, where an 80-year-old Canadian woman, reportedly suffering from Alzheimer’s, was allegedly raped in January. The accused, a 61-year-old man from Nova Scotia, now faces charges and is held without bail in the Bahamas, according to a report by CTV News.

The son of the elderly victim, David Ahrens, revealed that the horrifying incident occurred during a family vacation. As the trip neared its end, an uninvited guest joined Ahrens’ sister, mother, and their friends for dinner. Tragically, the elderly woman became separated from the group on an elevator, finding herself alone with the accused.

Ahrens recounted the ordeal, stating, “My younger sister stepped out of the elevator, and as she turned around to sort of hand out to get my mom, the doors closed, and effectively my mother disappeared.” Despite a frantic 30-minute search and assistance from hotel staff in reviewing security footage, the mother and the man were found getting off an elevator, with Ahrens claiming she was holding her underwear in her hand.

Law enforcement arrived at the scene, and the elderly woman was taken to a hospital, where a rape kit reportedly confirmed the assault. The accused, Gordon Wilkie, now faces legal consequences in the Bahamas.

This distressing incident follows recent reports of two mothers from Kentucky claiming they were drugged and raped during a vacation in the Bahamas with Carnival Cruises. Allegedly, Carnival failed to inform them about official warnings when traveling to the area, and a travel advisory had been issued by the U.S. Department of State on January 26.

Trump Slams AG Letitia James and Judge Engoron After Civil Fraud Ruling, Vows Appeal

Former President Donald Trump has lashed out at Democratic Attorney General Letitia James of New York and Judge Arthur Engoron following the recent ruling in his civil fraud trial. The lawsuit, filed by James in September 2022, accused Trump of inflating real estate values to secure loans. Judge Engoron’s decision ordered Trump to pay $354 million and imposed a three-year ban on him serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation.

Speaking to reporters outside Mar-a-Lago, Trump declared his intention to appeal the ruling, while strongly criticizing the legal proceedings. He asserted that the case was part of a larger political agenda, likening it to tactics employed by Russia and China. Trump vehemently denied any fraud, emphasizing that banks received full repayment and portrayed him as a valued customer.

In his remarks, Trump extended his criticism to Letitia James, labeling her a “horribly corrupt attorney general.” He suggested that the case was driven by a political agenda related to election interference. Trump argued that the absence of victims, given the banks’ financial gains, negates the need for such legal actions. “We’ll be appealing,” Trump said to reporters outside Mar-a-Lago. “But, more important than that, this is Russia, this is China, this is the same game, all comes out of the DOJ. It all comes out of Biden. It’s witch-hunt against his political opponent, the likes of which our country has never seen before, you see it in third world countries, banana republics, but you don’t see it here.”

“So I just want to say this: You build a great company. There was no fraud. The banks all got their money, 100 percent. They love Trump. They testified that Trump is great, great customer, one of our best customers. They testified beautifully, and the judge knows that. He is just a corrupt person and we knew that from the beginning. We knew it right from the beginning because he wouldn’t give it to the commercial division.”

“Letitia James, that’s another case altogether. She is a horribly corrupt attorney general and it’s all having to do with election interference,” Trump said. “There were no victims because the banks made a lot of money, they made $100 million. And by the way, I paid approximately $300 million in taxes as the migrants come in and they take over New York, I paid over this period of years over $300 million in taxes and they want me out, oh, let’s see if we can get him out. These are radical left Democrats, they are lunatics and it’s election interfering.”

Video: Cathedral Hosts Funeral for Atheist Transgender Activist

A huge funeral was held Thursday inside Manhattan’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral for transgender activist and atheist Cecilia Gentili of Brooklyn, who died February 6.

Gentili was 52 when he died of unknown causes at home, the Daily Mail reported Friday, noting that about 1,000 friends and fans of Gentili filled the church pews during the service.

The outlet described the scene:

A picture near the altar showed a haloed Ms. Gentili surrounded by the Spanish words for ‘transvestite,’ ‘whore,’ ‘blessed’ and ‘mother’ above the text of Psalm 25.

A mourner upstaged the priest at one point by singing ‘Ave Maria’ – but changing the lyrics to ‘Ave Cecilia’ before dancing through the aisles.

Dem Judge Fines Trump $354M

Judge Arthur Engoron fined former Donald Trump and the Trump Organization on Friday in civil a fraud case for more than $350 million and barred him from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation for three years.

New York Attorney General Letitia James sought to essentially bankrupt Trump by calling for a $370 million fine and a lifetime of from the real estate industry in New York State. James claimed Trump committed financial fraud.

Trump plans to appeal the ruling. “This is a case that should have never been brought, and I think we should be entitled to damages,” Trump said during closing arguments.

Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley called the ruling “confiscatory, extreme, and abusive.” . . .

NBC News reported specifics of the case:

James contended the defendants used the inflated financial statements to obtain bank loans and insurance policies at rates he otherwise wouldn’t have been entitled to and “reaped hundreds of millions of dollars in ill-gotten gains.”

Among the examples cited as fraud by the attorney general’s office during the trial was Trump valuing his triplex home in Trump Tower in New York City at three times its actual size and value, as well as including a brand value to increase the valuation of his golf courses on the financial statements, which explicitly said brand values were not included.

Another example pointed to by the attorney general clearly got under his skin — a dispute over the value of Mar-a-Lago, his social club and residence in Florida. Trump’s financial statements between 2011 and 2021 valued Mar-a-Lago at between $426 million and $612 million, while the Palm Beach County assessor appraised the property’s market value to be between $18 million and $27 million during the same timeframe.

Disney Board Wants To Hide Political Donations, Spending On Sex Changes From Shareholders, Docs Reveal

The Walt Disney Company board wants to hide key financial data from the public, particularly as it relates to their funding of the transgender movement and donations to political candidates, documents reviewed by the Daily Caller reveal.

The 2024 proxy vote ballot for Disney’s annual shareholder meeting, scheduled for April 2, reveals the board doesn’t want the public, or even their own shareholders, to know how much Disney spends on “gender transition compensation and benefits” for its staff. Despite the board’s suggested vote to shareholders, the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) and National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) are urging the company to release the data.

In Disney’s 2024 “Notice of Annual Meeting of Shareholders and Proxy Statement,” Disney details how the NLPC and NCPPR notified the company that they intend to present proposals focused on these issues. Within the same document, Disney “affirms” that people who suffer from gender dysphoria can “transition to a different sex.” However, “an increasing body of scientific evidence shows no benefits result from such medical treatments,” the NLPC argues. They go on to cite the European and American medical community’s “increasing” caution about gender-transition “therapies.”

“Victims report transition treatments and surgeries are harmful. Examples include long-lasting or permanent outcomes like chronic pain, sexual dysfunction, unwanted hair loss or hair gain, menstrual irregularities, urinary problems, and other complications,” the statement continues. “Rather than resolve health problems ‘gender affirming’ therapies instead often exacerbate them. In such instances, those who desire to ‘detransition’ cannot find medical care or insurance coverage, and are permanently mutilated. Many of these sufferers litigate against those who misled or harmed them.”

Report: Biden Attorneys Pushed DOJ to Omit Language Critical of His Age

Attorneys for President Joe Biden reportedly pushed the Justice Department to omit from special counsel Robert Hur’s report language critical of his age and memory.

Sources confirmed to ABC News and the New York Times that Biden attorneys Ed Siskel and Bob Bauer wrote “to Attorney General Merrick Garland, complaining that details in the report about the president’s recollections during an interview with investigators ‘openly, obviously and blatantly violate department policy and practice.’”

As many as four people confirmed the correspondence with the New York Times. Per ABC News:

Bradley Weinsheimer, a senior Justice Department official, responded the following day that the “identified language is neither gratuitous nor unduly prejudicial because it is not offered to criticize or demean the President; rather, it is offered to explain Special Counsel Hur’s conclusions about the President’s state of mind in possessing and retaining classified information.”

RFK Jr. Opposes Trans Athletes Competing Against Women

Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said during an event this week that he does not believe that men with gender dysphoria should be allowed to compete against women in sports.

Kennedy made the remarks during an event with WNBA Star Angel McCoughtry when asked what he would do about the trans issue if he became president.

The recess underscores Willis’s lack of decorum during her testimony, in which the judge was forced to admonish the prosecutor.

After about an hour of testimony, the defense questioning Willis asked the prosecutor if Nathan Wade, Willis’s lover and fellow Trump prosecutor, ever visited her “at the place you laid your head.”

“When?” Willis replied.

“Has he ever visited you at the place you laid your head,” the defense against asked.
