Former UFC Fighter Dies in Tragic Accident at 33

Former UFC flyweight contender Geane Herrera tragically passed away following a motorcycle accident on Saturday in Tampa, Florida. He was 33 years old.

According to reports from multiple sources, the accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. when Herrera collided with the back of another vehicle at a high speed on Gandy Bridge, as confirmed by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to TMZ.

Subsequently, Herrera’s motorcycle struck a concrete barrier, ejecting him from the vehicle. Despite emergency response efforts, Herrera was pronounced dead at the scene.

Herrera, who was on the verge of celebrating his 34th birthday, made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on August 25, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 73, where he faced Ray Borg. Although he suffered a defeat via unanimous decision in that bout, he bounced back three months later with a victory over Joby Sanchez by TKO.

Following his tenure in the UFC, Herrera transitioned to Absolute Championship Berkut in 2018. He later made his mark in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2021, securing a notable victory over Abdiel Velazquez by TKO.

In the wake of Herrera’s untimely passing, his family established a GoFundMe campaign, and tributes poured in on social media platforms to honor the late MMA fighter. In a heartfelt statement on the GoFundMe page, his family expressed profound sorrow over their loss, describing Herrera as a vibrant individual with a zest for life and a passion for making a positive impact in the world.

“Our family is devastated by the tragic loss of our beloved Geane Carlos Herrera known in the professional fighting world as ‘La Pulga’, whose life was cut way too short at only 33 years old,” the family wrote. “Geane leaves behind a 16-year-old son, his 3-month pregnant girlfriend, mother, father, sisters, a brother and a family that loves him and will deeply miss him.”

Harrowing Video Shows Gang Members With Automatic Weapons Open Fire on Rivals in Neighborhood

Harrowing video captured the moment gang members with automatic weapons opened fire in a south Florida neighborhood in what police say was a targeted attack that left locals ducking for cover in the middle of the night.

Footage from a neighbor’s security camera shows a group with weapons standing on a residential street in Miami Garden just after midnight Wednesday beginning to shoot as a silver Nissan approaches.

At least three hooded figures can be seen crouching on the ground waiting to ambush the approaching car — then rapidly firing at the vehicle as it drives past.

Neighbors said they heard at least 50 rounds from high-powered weapons. The brazen shooting eventually forced the driver off the road, plowing down a fence in a neighbor’s front yard, according to NBC 6.

Video also shows three people stumbling out of the targeted car making a mad dash away from the scene. (Read more from “Harrowing Video Shows Gang Members With Automatic Weapons Open Fire on Rivals in Neighborhood” HERE)

‘Stunning’: New Trump Trial Revelation Shocks Jake Tapper (VIDEO)

The “stunning” admission that Michael Cohen stole from the Trump Organization visibly shocked CNN’s Jake Tapper on Monday.

Cohen, the lawyer who made out the $130,000 hush money to former porn actress Stormy Daniels, told defense attorney Todd Blanche that he stole $30,000 from former President Donald Trump’s company to get himself bonus money he believed he deserved relating to the reimbursement deal.

“It’s fascinating stuff, and I have to say, I’m still kind of reeling from the revelation that Michael Cohen stole money from the Trump Organization and that wasn’t, at least to my knowledge, that the prosecution didn’t get that out earlier because it’s not as though the prosecution is going to be helped by further evidence that Michael Cohen is a shady character … that was just kind of stunning,” Tapper said.

Chief legal analyst Laura Coates expressed surprise that the prosecution did not point to Cohen’s admission or his reputation as a liar.

“If they can establish Michael Cohen as somebody who is not to be trusted about the amount of money as well, then they might be able to suggest that Donald Trump had no idea what he was truly paying,” Coates said. (Read more from “‘Stunning’: New Trump Trial Revelation Shocks Jake Tapper” HERE)

Canada and Trudeau Go Full Orwell Behind Anti-Speech Bill: Fear the Maple Curtain

When it comes to Canadian PM Justin Trudeau’s Orwellian Online Harms Act, tech titan Elon Musk gets it: “This sounds insane.”

Insane is putting it mildly; look at some of the law’s provisions.

Rewarding people who snitch on their “hateful” neighbors up to $20,000 and making the thought criminals pay up to $50,000.

Allowing the possibility of a literal life sentence for online hate crimes, including speech.

Letting judges, based on snitch testimony, jail people for up to a year because someone thinks they might commit a hate crime.

The law would also empower the cops to comb through your old posts — including those made before the law even passed — and punish you. (Read more from “Canada and Trudeau Go Full Orwell Behind Anti-Speech Bill: Fear the Maple Curtain” HERE)

Biden Admin Expresses ‘Official Condolences’ for Death of Iranian President Who Was Dubbed the ‘Butcher of Tehran’

The Biden administration on Monday expressed condolences for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

Raisi and several Iranian regime officials were killed in a helicopter crash in northern Iran over the weekend. Raisi, known as the “Butcher of Tehran,” oversaw aggressive foreign policies that increased tensions with the West and authoritarian domestic policies to repress and abuse the Iranian population, whom he was deeply unpopular with.

“The United States expresses its official condolences for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, and other members of their delegation in a helicopter crash in northwest Iran,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement on Monday. “As Iran selects a new president, we reaffirm our support for the Iranian people and their struggle for human rights and fundamental freedoms.”

“We regret any loss of life. We don’t want to see anyone die in a helicopter crash,” Miller told reporters on Monday.

Michael Cohen’s Ex-Attorney Contradicts Trump ‘Fixer’s’ Testimony, Gets Ripped by Judge in Fiery Scene at Hush Money Trial

An attorney who once represented Michael Cohen testified Monday that Donald Trump’s fixer-turned-foe had told him the ex-president “knew nothing” about the hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels — moments before irking the judge by rolling his eyes and muttering on the stand.

Robert “Bob” Costello, the second witness called by Trump’s lawyers at his Manhattan criminal trial, contradicted previous testimony by Cohen that the real estate mogul was aware of the deal to pay Daniels $130,000 to silence her story about having a tryst with him.

“Michael Cohen said numerous times that President Trump knew nothing about those payments, that he did this on his own, and he repeated that numerous times,” claimed Costello, a Trump ally who last week bashed the prosecution’s case in front of Congress.

Cohen also whined to him that “I don’t understand why they’re trying to put me in jail” over nondisclosure agreements, such as the one struck with Daniels, Costello, a former federal prosecutor in New York, added from the stand.

Tensions flared minutes later after Costello grew visibly peeved — muttering under his breath — after Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan sustained several objections from prosecutors to his testimony. Ex-CDC Director Says It’s High Time to Admit ‘Significant Side Effects’ of COVID-19 Vaccines

Dr. Robert Redfield, former director of the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said Thursday that many officials who tried to warn the public about potential problems with COVID-19 vaccines were pressured into silence and that it’s high time to admit that there were “significant” side effects that made people sick.

Dr. Redfield made the remarks in a May 16 interview with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation, during which he lamented the loss of public confidence in public health agencies because of a lack of transparency around the vaccines, which he said “saved a lot of lives” but also made some people “quite ill.”

“Those of us that tried to suggest there may be significant side effects from vaccines … we kind of got cancelled because no one wanted to talk about the potential that there was a problem from the vaccines, because they were afraid that that would cause people not to want to get vaccinated,” Dr. Redfield said.

In his role as head of the CDC, Dr. Redfield was part of the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed, a project to surge COVID-19 vaccine development at a time during the pandemic when little was known about the virus and rapid vaccine rollout was widely seen as key to getting the outbreak under control and lockdowns lifted.

In September 2020, a few months before the first COVID-19 vaccines were given in the United States, Dr. Redfield testified before the Senate that COVID-19 represented the “most significant public health challenge to face our nation in more than a century” and that the prevailing view among scientists at the time was that the overall case fatality rate of the disease was somewhere between 0.4 and 0.6 percent in the United States. Elite Investor Says Risk of U.S. Civil War Is up to 40% — And Thinks Taylor Swift Could Be a Good President

Ray Dalio warned the probability of a US civil war is as high as 40% — and said he might back Taylor Swift if she ran for president.

“We are now on the brink,” he told the Financial Times in a recent interview, raising the prospect of “much more turbulent times.”

Dalio is the billionaire founder of Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund, and the author of “Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed and Fail.”

He pegged the chances of a civil war at 35% to 40%, adding that it may not necessarily be a shooting war. . .

The financial historian has repeatedly underscored that extreme levels of government debt, massive wealth inequality, rising internal divisions, and raging external conflicts can pave the way for war, revolution, and a new world order. Pope Francis Tells CBS’ ‘60 Minutes’ That U.S. Conservative Catholics Have ‘Suicidal Attitude’

In an interview with “60 Minutes” airing this Sunday, Pope Francis takes aim at his “conservative critics” in the United States, reportedly saying a conservative is someone who “clings to something and does not want to see beyond that.”

“It is a suicidal attitude,” the pope said as reported by “60 Minutes,” which released a brief clip of the upcoming interview conducted by CBS’ Nora O’Donnell.

“Because one thing is to take tradition into account, to consider situations from the past, but quite another is to be closed up inside a dogmatic box.”

Francis has occasionally addressed criticism leveled against him during his more than 10 years as pontiff, saying in August 2023 that the U.S. Catholic Church is characterized by “a very strong reactionary attitude.” He has taken actions recently to limit the influence of some of his most prominent clerical critics in the U.S., reportedly taking some Vatican privileges from Cardinal Raymond Burke and removing Bishop Joseph Strickland, a frequent online critic of the pope, from his post as bishop of Tyler, Texas. . .

“The wide-ranging conversation also touches upon the Church’s handling of its own sexual abuse scandals; Francis’ deep commitment to inclusiveness within the Church; the backlash against his papacy from certain corners of U.S. Catholicism; and an exploration of his thinking on surrogate parenthood,” the network says, adding that the interview marks “the first time a pope has given an in-depth, one-on-one interview to a U.S. broadcast network.” (Read more from “Pope Francis Tells CBS’ ‘60 Minutes’ That U.S. Conservative Catholics Have ‘Suicidal Attitude’” HERE)

Forget ‘Never Trumpers’ — More Voters Now Say They’ll Never Vote for Biden

President Joe Biden has a new problem cropping up in polling data: more Americans now dismiss even the possibility of voting for him.

Among likely voters living in six key swing states, 51% say there’s “not really any chance” they’d vote for Biden, compared to just 46% saying the same thing about former President Donald Trump, according to a May poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College. The trend of more voters vowing never to vote for Biden than Trump extends beyond just one poll, with three polls stretching between November 2023 and April all finding more never-Biden voters than never-Trump voters, The Washington Post reported.

The American voter’s refusal to even consider voting for Biden is a reversal of the situation during the 2020 election. when voters consistently reported that they would never vote for Trump at higher rates than they did for Biden, according to the Post.

Both candidates have seen considerable protest votes despite running in virtually uncontested primaries.

Options other than Biden have gotten significant support in a number of Democratic primaries, including in the swing states of Nevada, Michigan and North Carolina. Similarly, Nikki Haley continues to attract double-digit support in Republican presidential primaries despite having dropped out of the race months ago, CNN reported.
