CNN’s Kate Bolduan Insists Network Did Nothing Wrong in Reporting Trump’s Iran Strike. the Records Say That Is a Lie
CNN’s Kate Bolduan insisted Thursday that the network’s coverage did not omit key details on the U.S. bombings of Iranian nuclear sites despite the fact that CNN only added certain details after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth chastised them Wednesday.
The network, led by former Politico reporter Natasha Betrand, published an article Tuesday about the leaked Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) report, highlighting the fact that the report said the U.S. bombing campaign only set Iran’s nuclear program back a few months.
However, the CNN article did not initially include the fact that the DIA made the assessment with “low confidence” based on satellite imagery of the underground nuclear facilities.
CNN updated its article to include the low confidence element after Hegseth blasted them for it.
“The instinct of CNN, the instinct of The New York Times is to try and find a way to spin it for their own political reasons to try to hurt President Trump or our country,” Hegseth said during a Wednesday press conference at the NATO summit in the Netherlands.
