Second Major Food Brand in Two Days Announces Artificial Dye Removal

Major food brand General Mills will remove all artificial dyes from its products by 2027, the company announced Tuesday.

The company also announced plans to remove “certified colors” from all of its American cereal brands and all of its products in school lunches by summer 2026, they said in a press release.

While General Mills claimed that 85 percent of its product line is already made without artificial colors, some of their most popular products still contain dyes.

Many flavors of Kool-Aid, a General Mills product, contain Red 40, which the Trump administration said would soon be banned in a May announcement.

Consumption of Red 40 has been linked to rises in early onset colorectal cancer and researchers found that it also damages DNA. (Read more from “Second Major Food Brand in Two Days Announces Artificial Dye Removal” HERE)
