Tucker Carlson Sparks Outcry Over “Antisemitic” Comments at Charlie Kirk Memorial as New Video Casts Doubt on FBI Narrative

Tucker Carlson has come under fire following remarks made during a memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, whose recent assassination has stirred political tensions and rampant speculation.

Speaking to a packed crowd at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, Carlson appeared to compare Kirk’s death to the crucifixion of Jesus, suggesting both were targeted for speaking uncomfortable truths to power.

“So it’s about 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem, and Jesus shows up and he starts talking about the people in power… and they just go bonkers,” Carlson said. “They become obsessed with making him stop: ‘This guy’s got to stop talking. We’ve got to shut this guy up.’”

Carlson then added: “I can just sort of picture the scene in a lamp-lit room with a bunch of guys sitting around eating hummus, thinking about — ‘What do we do about this guy telling the truth about us? We must make him stop talking.’ And there’s always one guy with the bright idea, and I can just hear him say, ‘I’ve got an idea. Why don’t we just kill him?’”

Carlson’s remarks sparked immediate backlash from several Jewish groups and Israeli media outlets, who accused him of promoting antisemitic conspiracy theories. Critics pointed to his reference to hummus—despite it not being historically accurate to ancient Judea—as a possible allusion to modern Israel:

Carlson has not responded to the allegations, and he did not explicitly name any individual or group in his speech. While the FBI has maintained that the shooting appears politically motivated and was likely carried out by a lone actor, many remain unconvinced.

Online discourse has increasingly centered around the possibility of foreign involvement, with some voices suggesting Israeli interests could have had a motive—though no hard evidence has emerged to support these claims. Nonetheless, the topic has gained traction in certain corners of the media.

Adding to the uncertainty, a new video that began circulating today appears to contradict the FBI’s official timeline and trajectory of the shooting. The footage seems to show that Kirk was shot from a direction inconsistent with the agency’s claims. See below:
